2021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHA]SHACoin - UPDATED - READ NOW - POS/POW SHA256 on: May 28, 2014, 06:24:35 AM
again, i'll reiterate.. my wallet is fine and has been in sync and staking for weeks.
seemingly Asiacoin were able to void the premine (by the same dev)
are we able to do a similar thing and get SHACoin back on track?

yes, the wallet is fine. I believe CG already helped us a lot.
if we can void the premine, everything will be fine i think.
after these days, it seems no one can ensure that no premine in their coins,
maybe we're probably just scared ourselves.

As a fairly small bagholder, this may not mean much, but I would like to see this happen. So, I won't dump if you guys get it going. With a little help from raskul, I got my wallet synced, and it is staking and working fine. The mechanics are sound, if a way can be found to void or otherwise negate the premine. I likely will sell some of my generated coins, but I want my stake to grow.

Good luck, and if I can be of assistance, let me know.

I haven't seen this yet in the thread, so here goes.  I finally got my coins into my wallet and worked through the sync problems.  I left it overnight and guess what, it staked.  Excellent, sounds good, right.  The wallet showed 1 confirmation, but seemed to be stuck, so I closed it and re-opened, still stuck and showing 1 confirmation on the stake.  All 2.9 coins were tied up in the stake (stake was 0.01216917 coins).  So, I decided to backup my wallet and re download the chain.  First thing that happened is my balance went to 0 and my stake and coins showed as a conflict and now I am left with nothing.  It took most of the day to get it to properly sync, but over the past 5 hours have been synced and no changes to the wallet and stake.  Please tell me what I am to do now??

Here are the transaction details:

Status: conflicted
Date: 5/27/2014 06:21
Source: Generated
Debit: 0.00 SYNC
Net amount: -2.92353153 SYNC
Transaction ID: d7fd7830a331216014adb3da059f03ac60f211ca8db68095f61b2d055796e18b

Generated coins must mature 60 blocks before they can be spent. When you generated this block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, its state will change to "not accepted" and it won't be spendable. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a block within a few seconds of yours.

Please help a fellow albertan...

1. relax. You didn't lose your coins.
2. in the console type repairwallet
3. you just got your first orphan. It worked as it should, just conflicted with a generated block. It'll go back into stake as soon as the orphan is clear.
4. You're good! It worked right.

Should i dump ?? :/

Yes.

Thursday, when I get paid.

Okk lol ill wait for it, hope you made lot of money Smiley

At least you have a sense of humour Cheesy

To be more serious, I think that the value will return. The basics of the coin are decent, and it's rare, which should drive the value up. The known issues are being worked on, and the dev seems to give a damn.

Right now, the value is low for a couple of major reasons, which cause panic amongst the impatient and an opportunity for the patient or stubborn.

The first is the multipools. Not ours, it's probably doing quite well because of the price drop, but the ones that sell for bitcoin or other cryptos. They operate on a "right now" basis, and the blockchain froze, then went forward at a wounded snail's pace. So they were probably offering any deal at all to get a return. But Proof of Work is over, so that's mostly over with as well.

The second was the issues with the wallet and the blockchain. They're being resolved. The fundamentals of the coin remain the same, but the weak hands and get rich quick people are panicking. This was always a longer term deal.

My main coins are TEK cuz I love it and Earthcoin cuz I like the ideas behind it and am part of the team. But this one has a great deal of merit. We'll see how it's handled in the coming days. It has the potential to be quite valuable.

Presstab, I love ya man, I really do...

But why the fuck would you use .rar as a compression tool?

Get http://www.7-zip.org/. Free, cross platform and it will decompress anything.

I know. Just giving Presstab a little hell. I hated .rar back in the BBS days, and age hasn't improved it Cheesy 7 zip is pretty awesome, though.

Lol, well it is working biomech  Tongue

And quite well. This is my favorite coin, and I love the new wallet.

dude shut the fuck up with your emotional outbursts i asked a guy a question and  you flipped out and made it last all day, god damn i would have liked to been in 3 or for 4 posts trying to get some input but you took offense when none was made Grin

Peace, children!

Personally, I think pbmining is a good deal, but I also think hardware in hand is a good deal. It works out pretty similar. I like the control of my own hardware, but I like the payday every sunday too. Don't put your eggs in one basket.

Can someone please give me the short and real story of what is going on with this coin?
I do not have the time to read thru 250 pages here. All I know is I mined and bought this
coin last week for like .9 btc, and now it is at .1 btc.  What is going on? Is it dead and
we should sell/leave, or is it a great buying opportunity?

DEVS PLEASE SPEAK UP!

Not a dev, so I can't speak for them.

But I would (and am) holding for now. The bumps are pretty normal for a new coin, the devs are working on it, and the sheep are panicking.

I guess SYNC is almost dead ....or dying now...
Nah, it's just a newborn. Gotta smack it on the ass a few times to get it breathing properly...

Things should get going after the wallet/stake is resolved.

Agreed. Always with the hiccups Cheesy While you're watching, can you clarify how many blocks, or if not a block count, what basis for stake maturity? (not the time to confirm, the time to be eligible to stake).

thanks.

Gracias! I'll let everybody know what the results are. I'm gonna try it first without deletion, and if that fails, reload the blockchain.

Finally someone noticed that I'm here reading the comments.  Sent via PM

I always try to remember that I have two eyes and one mouth, and respond at least at that ratio Cheesy I've always noticed, just not always commented. Keep up the good work!

I am getting an error when trying to open the new flavored wallet.
Worked fine this morning, but now it's giving me an error.

Here is a screenshot:

Anyone know how to fix that?

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?
Usually, and this is not the first coin I've run into this with, you can fix it by completely exiting the program and restarting. After you exit, hit ctrl-alt-del and open the task manager. Make sure ALL instances of the client are not running, force any that are to stop using the "end task" button.

Then restart the wallet and see if it solves it. If it don't, delete everything in the appdata\roaming\sync folder EXCEPT wallet.dat. (best practice is to copy it somewhere safe, and somewhere else safe, too. ) Then let it sync again. Should cure it.

Hmm. I'm either blind or there's no link to the non flavored wallet in the OP. Somebody help a brother out?

its a picture of a window

edit: in between github cat and mac face

That's the flavored one. I'm looking for the basic QT. Flavored started hanging on me, wanna try the plain. Not sure why a skin would make a difference, but a couple people indicated it would.

and i didnt get my payout yet   Angry

What wallet address did you use?? then we can look up the tx id of th payout made to you.
Also make sure your wallet is fully synced!

Pleas note: all payments have been made and we checked all payouts in blokchain!

If you did not get it, you either:
1. have used a wrong sync address as username (contact us, and tell us what name you used and possibly we can help you.),
2. did not proper sync your address: read this thread on how to sync your wallet.
3. never mined with us?!

I didn't get no payout last time either, help! The world is falling down! Aieeee!!!!

Oh.

Wait.

My gridseed isn't plugged in until I get the computer back online for it.

Correct i think loljosh did the flavoured wallet
but someone else called nite69 did the lastest code
he is a member here on this forum search nite69

His "Get your own Alt-Coin" thread where he lists Sync as his latest work:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=466908.0

What a honor for him to list Sync in his thread because I didn't see any other coins..  Maybe you missed my last post, I asked loljosh to work with me on Sync and it's not a secret. He post here frequently and even took charge when I was away.  Do you prefer one person working on a coin or two?  He's currently working on a online wallet and in built explorer, price sticker and multi-pool stats

I really don't want to know your experience with him, but all the time dev ask other people for help. It's about connection and Nite69 (one of the AUR dev) coded the difficulty since the low supply affected block generation and he's still helping out to revolve the stake issues.

FYI : Most of the top coins it was developed by Loljosh  Wink

No MsCollec, you missed the point. You paid him to develop a coin, which he did. Not without problems but he did it. So now what...? Does he stick around or more likely moves on to develop another coin where he is funded by another "Dev" who couldn't do it themselves. And this does not just apply to loljosh, but anybody else you are paying to work on it.

I was only trying to point out that this coin was created by hired hands. There is no innovation, no usage, just a bunch of people happy (after days of anger) they got their tiny stake.

I don't know if you have problem with me or with SYNC. I have never seen you before nor we have dealt before as you are accusing me for being a scammer.

Code:
There is no innovation, no usage, just a bunch of people happy (after days of anger) they got their tiny stake.

Think 100 times before you make any statement like above. This is the 1st X11 + PoS coin of community having just 1000 coins. You will never find any PoS coin with that low amount anywhere on this forum (maybe yes in future because of Sync clones). This is what makes Sync different from other coins. Regarding to your statement related to flavoured wallet and copy paste codes, so let me tell you that 85% of the code in this coin is mine and nite69's ( he is the developer of Nite Gravity Wave NGW). The biggest innovation about this coin is to make PoS possible on just 1000 total coins. I think you didn't note another thing about this coin. Sync is currently having the record of highest net hashrate which was more than 300 GHS which is almost impossible for any other coin.

I've seen you around the forums, involved in a number of coin launches (several were outright flops) in recent months. My problem with you is that you have already made your money on this coin so you have no reason to care how it goes from here out. And to be honest the launch was a mess. Testnet exists for a reason but my guess is, the transition to POS was never tested. It was just assumed it would work, and when it didn't it left everybody scrambling.

As for your supposed "innovation" who cares? Its a POW/POS coin. All you did was reduce the number of blocks. The net hashrate is now gone. They mined it and dumped it. So who cares that it broke a record? All of the X-11 miners have gone back to mining other X-11 coins.

Code:
I've seen you around the forums, involved in a number of coin launches (several were outright flops) in recent months.

I want to see those coins too. Please can you list down the failed coins which are developed by me?

Code:
My problem with you is that you have already made your money on this coin so you have no reason to care how it goes from here out.

Money is not everything dude, if this coin was made for pump and dump then MsCollec and I would never mention our names. You have our wallet address , you can check that we are still holding all the coins any buying more of them from exchanges.

Any coin can be called a failure, its all a matter of perspective. I don't consider any of your coins successful. Period. You craft coins based on real work done by other members of this forum, and sell them. Thats why I say they lack innovation. Because they do.

Plenty of coins flop and the dev's go laughing to the bank. Doesn't mean it was scam. I'm not saying this coin is a scam. Not in any way. I'm asking other people to think carefully about investing in this coin, because of what it is, a clone.

Hmm. Let me think about this for roughly two milliseconds. How many coins out there are completely original code?

Anyone?

Ok, I'll spell it out. Bitcoin and NXT. All others are derivative in some manner. I'm in the midst of compiling hundreds of them, and you know what? They're all pretty similar at base. The innovations, such as they are, are minor things to the code, but can have a major impact on the way the coin performs. These coins are out there for many different reasons, from someone trying to change the world all the way down to some body having a bit of fun. In my time, I've seen a few that were outright scams, a few that were really tremendously awesome, and a lot of reinventing the wheel.

The thing is, the market is new. I know, I know, it's "so yesterday" to have scrypt, x11, grostl, keccak, PoS, PoW... But face it: This revolution started in 2009. Bitcoin is king, due to being first and well marketed. There are a lot of contenders. The basic code works, and works well, or there wouldn't be all of this crazy, insane, cool, innovative, and wacky market. Evolutionary changes are just as valid as revolutionary ones, and it takes the lens of history to determine which is which.

As fof loljosh being a hired gun? So what? I have some ideas for a coin myself. I'm not currently looking for a developer, but if I were, he'd be on my short list. If you have a good idea, and don't know how to make it happen, you hire somebody who does. Frankly, if you don't like that concept, you probably should stay away from markets, period.

#sync exclusive coming soon. #GoodNewsMonday

new wallet?
I'd advise a serious reduction in the number of confirms for stake to occur - or some magic to seriously speed up the blockchain.
I mixed 3SYNC across 3 wallets yesterday, and in honesty - it's going to take an age for them to be mature enough to stake... the confirms spec was good while PoW was active, but anyone acquiring coins afterwards are going to have to wait an awfully long time before they get any coins forged.

So, I'd advise looking into making sure you look into this before any gimmick is released. As a supporter of Sync, I'm saying -
There are still a lot of folks who can't get their coins to stake (for some reason or another).

example - I sent 1SYNC to an empty wallet 17 hours ago - it now has only 72 confirms.
(remind me how many confirms it takes to be mature enough to stake? 1000?)

thanks for your attention to this detail.

Rus

Wow even Raskul has problems with staking of the SYNC coins now!

It is only a problem if the cause is not realised. Therefore it is not a problem; it is merely code which can be rectified.
In the meantime - i'm still buying up all your cheap Sync. keep dumpingthrowing your money in the street.

Fixed that for ya.
