2021  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 31, 2022, 02:49:29 PM
The votes fails to win , because it is not Down compare to what the results says , I think there are more to come in the coming weeks?
Bitcoin made an Uptrend for the last week of October and now staying at 20k level and continues growing .

The thread is not about 'the votes and to win', it's more about setting up a poll to get some sort of read or feel for what the market sentiment is for the guys here in at BCT.  And judging from the votes the sentiment isn't negative or positive.  It's mostly neutral.

I wouldn't say uptrend just yet.  But it did break out and it's holding 20k.  That's a slightly positive sign for sure.  I would've liked it to bounce strong at 20.5k tho.

Lots of match ups missing in Wikipedia that's a stopped looking there.  Check out the event's Tapology page.

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/91921-ufc-fight-night

There are 6 more matches in the roster not listed in the event's Wiki page.

Anyway, this looks to be another greasy card that underdog bettors would love.  I'm looking at 4 live underdogs rn, tho one isn't really that much of an underdog.  It's close to a coin flip.  The huge favorites on the hand look solid and could be good be made parlay pieces combo'd here and there.
2023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 31, 2022, 02:27:46 PM
I forgot to put in my predictions once again - it's my 3rd time since the start of the pool. Really frustrating, especially considering that games other than Liverpool and Chelsea had quite realistic results.
I'm 20 points away from top 10, I'd probably be there if I just remembered to play.

I'll still be participating in the pool and trying to get a yellow cap but my season is over in November - kinda same like Liverpool who I support Grin

Yup, I didn't get my predictions in for Saturday's fixtures too...  Not that it mattered.  Judging from what the results were, I prolly wouldn't have made a lot of points.  There would prolly be a couple of close predictions but that's about it.

I'm so close to giving up as it's starting to be a waste of time.  But the  again I paid around 50 bucks for this.  I'm just gonna make some quick predictions without thinking about it too much.  Gonna do it...  Now.  Cheesy

Edit:  Done.  Did it in 30 secs.  Less even.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Here are the results. Not a great fight card in betting terms as there were horrible decisions from the judges

I thought Jacoby vs Rountree was a bad decision by the judges.  But which other matches do you think had bad decisions?  I missed the first 4 matches and I haven't seen the replays of those yet.  But among the ones I've seen I think nothing was wrong with the decisions except the Jacoby vs Rountree one.

Tim Means vs Max Griffin was so close but Griffin did a tad more to get the W imho.

So City really played bad without Haaland? Hope that's true... Not that it matters right now as Liverpool are looking so far ahead we need to fix ourselves first before hoping others stumble. But I do need to win some big City hets as it has actually not happened this season yet.

Happy I got points from Brighton, sad I didn't place any bets. Kinda feel cheated every time I get a single point for going big.

Villa crashing down to earth again huh?

Lol.  As fans of the EPL I think it would be better not to wish any ill will on clubs you consider your rivals.  For example with Liverpool supporters, I'd really get it if those people are actual Scousers who are willing to bash rival supporters' heads for territory and pride, but c'mon...  We're just people in a forum here trying to enjoy the matches.

And what's going on with Klopp?  Losing another one vs Leeds after losing the last one...  Something is def wrong.  Hope they make a couple of good transfers this January and then at the summer.
2026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 30, 2022, 04:50:03 PM
As to Arlovki, do you think he can still get into top15 or even aim for the title shot? 4 straight wins already, could get his fifth tomorrow. To be able to get a title shot, he could need 3-4 more fights. That is 1-3 years (two probably). He will be older than Oleinik, that has retired recently. Most likely Arlovki will be only a card filler, card filler for fight night events only.

No...  Not anymore.  He's too old and the younger guys are way more skilled than the old school guys.  Watch Aspinall vs Arlovski at MMA Core.  You'll see a huge difference in skill set.  And imagine him taking a shot vs Cyril Gane.  It's gonna be no match.

Here is the result for the UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Allen,

Calvin Kattar VS Arnold Allen ROUND 2 KNEE INJURY - LOST

This is one bad moment for Calvin Kattar, a knee injury like that and this is not what Arnold Allen really wants he doesn't want a win like that, although he surely targeted the injured knee to win, it was really an unpredictable thing to happen and nobody wants it to happen as well, as bad as it is a win is always will be a win for Allen, even if it is a freak accident and now that Arnold Allen has 10 winning streaks so he definitely deserves a title shot, but for me, Max Holloway is a good match for him moving forward, while Calvin Kattar will surely be gone for a long time,

Tim Means VS Max Griffin ROUND 3 DECISION - WIN

I don't really know If I am bored while watching this fight but it was really a close fight at 1st, Tim Means was always in the middle but the speed of Griffin surely was the one that keep on getting those shots entered, so it was really a Split decision for him,

Andrei Arlovski VS Marcos Rogério de Lima ROUND 1 SUBMISSION - LOST

It was a fast fight Arlovski seems slow on his feet which is why he was taken down by de Lima so fast and getting that rear naked choke was not really hard for him because Arlovski gave it too easily, and de Lima's weight also help with the ground fight aswell,

Aspinall did the same thing.

Anyway, around 5 underdogs won in the event.  And it would've been nice if Kattar didn't bust his knee.  I would've loved to see more of Arnold in the cage vs a top 5 guy.

Is the site working for any of you guys?  When I go to the options for sports at the side, I don't see the usual list that we regularly see.  'Popular', 'top sports' and 'all sports' are all blank.  Is there anything wrong with the site or is it just me?

And when I go to live and upcoming, it's all blank.

Brighton showing Graham Potter that he shouldn't have left the club.  Lmaooo.  I missed making my predictions except for the last 4 fixtures of this weekend.  But looking at the scores, I think the only one I would've gotten close is the Newcastle vs Aston Villa match.

But yeah..  This round of matches looks like it's easier to predict than the last couple match days.  Good luck to everybody.

Famous last words. The match-ups this week did seem easier to pick for me but I've thought that before and done terribly.

So you guys think Leicester can get a goal in vs City or is there some value in City win to nil at 2.32?

They could for sure and I've picked them to get one seeing as they've managed to get two decent results on the bounce but City are a different animal. Home advantage will be a plus but I don't think I'd put money on them to score.

I'm wondering if Liverpool will slaughter Leeds? Could be messy at Anfield but they're coming off that shocking loss to Forest. Does that mean they'll be bouncing back with a bang or are they going to struggle to score?

Oh, make sure to look out for the World Cup pool in Games and Rounds soon. Should be active over the weekend.

^  Perfect match up for Liverpool to bounce back imho.  Got them to win 3 - 1 for the pool.  But then again dunno...  From a betting perspective we just can't trust Liverpool this season.

Didn't watch any F1 this weekend but what happened here?  The usual suspects of getting the top three spots are not there.  Russell, Tsunoda and Ocon?  Where's Verstappen, Leclerc and Sainz?

FP2 results...  We'll see how FP3 goes but judging from the current lines at the betting market, the books could be putting too much credit on Perez at 4.20 and not much with Leclerc and Sainz at 8.00 and 13.00.  And Hamilton at 11.00?  Surely Sainz should have a better chance than him.

2031  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 28, 2022, 03:27:13 PM
Mini bullrun?  Undecided
I think it is only a common increase, and the increase isn't so significant.
If Bitcoin price can survive above $20k throughout November, it is very possible that Bitcoin price won't drop to $18k - $19k again.
However, if there is big news about a recession in the next year, I guess Bitcoin may have a new ATL (below $17k).
I'm sure it's not a bullrun or whatever term they say about those small gains.
In fact an increase like this can be considered normal because some news has made the market sentiment change where there is an increase in demand in the market. But an increase like this will not last much longer because there are many negative issues that can affect investors' interest in buying lots.

Actually I didn't expect the price to drop to $17K or lower, but considering the recession issue then I would consider it a risk to be more prepared for market conditions. Even if I want to buy every dips, then I will really consider DCA so I can take better chances to accumulate.

I think our concern is not whether the price could go up significantly, how ever we call them.

But where the bottom price will be in this bearish market. So far the lowest low is $17,500, but who knows, we might see a new record next year. it's important because we can really gauge how deep the market will be and what is the potential growth in the future. For this month, we can simply say that the price could be just above $20K and I think we should be happy that we will end this month at that price.

^  Yup.  We really couldn't expect BTC and all the other alts to claw their way up from here and recover all the ground lost since November last year.  :/  I mean with everything that's going on all around the world.  Buuut we should like what we're seeing right now too.  BTC never went below 18k for long and now it looks like 20k is gonna hold too.  I won't mind if the market loses momentum and goes side ways again from here on out as long as 18k - 20k holds...  I'd consider it a win.

I locked the poll a couple of days ago.  No use trying to get the sentiment for the month through the poll when the month is almost over.
2032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: October 28, 2022, 03:03:41 PM
^  You know I'm a Red Bull fan but I find myself kinda mostly agreeing with you.  It's way too soft.  The FIA should've done something like get the driver's championship from Verstappen and penalize him and the team by point reduction of -130 points.  That way Verstappen has 261 points vs Leclerc's 267 points which should make the season ending in a more exciting fashion.  Grin

They could even do -140 point reduction which would make it even more exciting with just three races to go.  Lol.
2033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | Group Stage on: October 28, 2022, 02:19:54 PM
Atletico Madrid and Tottenham just destroyed my parlay last night. It was unbelievable to watch the moments after Atletico Madrid won a penalty in the last minute. A save by the goalkeeper, a shot coming back from the goal post... It was really devastating for me to see them wasting a huge chance which cost them the Champions League as well.

Tottenham on the other hand shocked me. I don't know how they couldn't beat Sporting home. Getting a win in this match was going to secure last 16 for them by the way. This should have been another motivation source for them. But instead they started the match terrible. There was nothing good in them in the first half. They even barely scored the equalizer in the last ten minutes. Conte must do something immediately as they are bad not only here but also in the EPL.

^  Player fatigue.  There's no way he can do anything about it and it's just gonna get worse during winter.  Conte needs to take his players somewhere sunny to train and recover.  Alex Ferguson used to do that btw. He'd take his squad during winter to Dubai or somewhere in the middle east.  And it works.

But yeah, CL football is one of the hardest betting markets to beat consistently.  If you're betting in these matches, it's prolly better to just be betting them for fun.
2034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 28, 2022, 02:10:02 PM
^  I haven't really been watching a lot of the EPL but I kinda expected Newcastle to do a bit better than they did during seasons prior as they're being backed financially by Saudi oilers now.  And they're manager is decent.  I've always rooted for Eddie Howe and have said that he's gonna be a manager of a bigger club in the coming years.  I guess this is his big break.

I think they're doing a lot better than they're getting credit for, just because they have a blank cheque which haven't been put to a full use yet and their biggest signing have barely been of much use too, meanwhile the team seem to be highly motivated.

They've lost just only one game (to Liverpool, which was a 98th minute goal, as well) despite having played against teams like Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester United and even this season's somewhat impressive at the early stage's Brighton, I'd say that deserves some commendation to say the least, and despite all of these aforementioned fixtures, they've conceded the least amount of goals compared to any other team in the league, only City, Chelsea and Arsenal comes joint second in the aspect, meanwhile they've all played a fixture less than Newcastle.

Newcastle also have one of the best goal difference +10 or goal scored to goal conceded ratio 2:1 in the league currently as well, also only just Man City and Arsenal (slightly) have done better in that aspect.

For what it's worth, I think their season so far is nothing short of a brilliant success, considering the fixture they've played so far and what's left for the first half of the season, it probably can only get better, however, that's just my personal opinion and it's solely based on an informed guess..

It's hard to disagree with you there with how good they're running so far.  I'm rooting for them to finish top 4 and I guess they could steal some more points in the reverse fixtures from some of the supposed most likely clubrs to finish top 4 like City, United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal.

But yeah..  This round of matches looks like it's easier to predict than the last couple match days.  Good luck to everybody.

So you guys think Leicester can get a goal in vs City or is there some value in City win to nil at 2.32?
2035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 28, 2022, 02:02:27 PM
^  I heard some rumors swirling around that Jones vs Miocic isn't really happening and that it doesn't really make much sense from Jones point of view. If the UFC is gonna match Jones with Miocic, it has to be a main event.  But then again in what kind of event?  A PPV with no belt on the line?  And they can't make it a co main event either as Jones would prolly not want a fight that's not a main event or without a belt.  Dunno...  But judging from Jones' history of dealing with the UFC, the rumor makes sense.  There could be some truth in it.

A few days ago I encountered news of Jones claiming to fight Miocic at UFC 282 which is on December 10. I think UFC 282 is clearly to be headlined by the rematch between Prochazka and Teixeira, so maybe Jones is now willing to fight as an undercard as long as it guarantees a title fight or main event next. Although the date is less than 2 months already and we do not even know if Miocic agrees to a late notice fight. I've been following athletes on Facebook and Twitter and it seems Miocic is not in serious training mode. Obviously, Miocic would've signed a contract earlier if he is keen on fighting this December.

Maybe...  But dunno, if nothing's confirmed then it's all air at this point.  But if it were all up to me, I'd looove to see Jon Jones back in the cage.  Be it at 205 or as a heavy weight.  He's always been a delight to watch...  And fighting as an under card would make a lot of sense as Jones might not be able to fight a 5 rounder at the point of his return.

Anyway, live weigh ins will start in a couple hours or so.

@tokeweed even I’m kinda surprised that Max won, and it seems that he’s yet hungry to win more races and further it’s clear that he won’t let his opponent’s win even a single race. Furthermore I expect Max to once again be competitive, and besides him I feel that Hamilton can win the Mexican GP and Ferrari as usual will be happy to just race and won’t win this race too.

I wouldn't exactly say 'surprised' as Red Bull has one of the best drivers currently in F1 and still has the car on the grid.  It was more like a situational bet.  You get a scenario that Verstappen's opponents should've taken advantage of.  Especially Ferrari.  But due to Sainz's DNF and Leclerc moving down to 12 on the grid, how could they?  It's prolly just not meant to be.

Anyway how many more races?  Mexico, Brazil and back to the middle east?  I want it to be the next season please...  Lol.  There's nothing to anticipate in this one.

Congrats to Darbit and LFC_Bitcoin on the yellow cap,we are sharing this prize so pretty happy with the week. Didnt expect in the end three yellow caps but thats how intresting it was. Also too bad Bournemouth didnt score at least one goal they were playing so good in the end of the match but not much chances for them.

It was a terrible week for me in the pool, I was able to rack up just 4 points in total and I dropped by 5 places all the way to 15th, Kudos to all of you guys sharing the yellow cap because It wasn't an easy week and and 10.5 points as the joint best also shows how tough the week was on an average.

I was also rooting for Bournemouth to score a goal, I had BTTS on a bet slip and I also went with 2-1 in the pool, so it could have been a win-win situation had that happened.

It was a terrible week for most. I was one point away from my second wooden spoon of the season. Lots of upsets. Nobody predicted Liverpool losing and only one person backed the Arsenal/Southampton draw. Only one person backed Newcastle to beat Spurs as well. The chubby chipmunk-faced cunt that is Casemiro caused me from losing the exact score in injury time. Anyone who got more than a handful of points from this week did very well.

...  Checks the results...

Wasn't me.  Lol.  But decent.  Still not enough to break top 20 tho.  I just need a couple of lucky weeks.

Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva  (Saturday)

And while I'm leaning Anderson Silva to win the match via unanimous decision, a funny thought came in my head that it's in the realm of possibility that Silva could get KO'd by Jake Paul.  Cheesy  Omg if that happens as boxing fans will def have a field day making fun of MMA fans and we wouldn't see the end of it.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

This is a dog and pony show that piques my interest.  But I'm not really sure why Jake Paul is a huge favorite at 1.49.  Does the crowd really think Anderson Silva has less than 50% chance of winning?

Anybody itt a Tottenham fan?  If you are a fan I think you should start getting worried.  Lol.  The cracks are starting to show in Conte's squad.  I think all the intense training during the summer is also starting to take a toll.  I heard that some players were throwing up on the pitch due to Conte's methods.  It now looks like player fatigue which usually starts around December has started to show a month early in Conte's squad.

Another club that could turn for the worse because of player fatigue is Liverpool.
