Utter nonsense. Name another PoW currency that earns you net anything at its current market price? Spread is the best deal out there by far for long term miners. Is there a breakdown of the top 20 miners yet? (looks a shitload better than Darkcoin: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/#!extraction) Feel free to aid decentralisation by jumping in with a few MH/s.  Yes, that does look more decentralized than Darkcoin at the moment. Time will tell how well this model works. I really like the idea. I'm not going to bother mining with one GPU when I can just buy some more SPR if I wanted to. My mining operations are restricted to two antminers solo mining bitcoin as a form of fun lottery. My days of 2GH/s of X11 on Darkcoin are well in the past. |

maybe the volume will shift to bitfinex due to that walls I'd love to see the volume on bitfinex at least as high on cryptsy. Bitfinex is more advanced and is rly fast in deposit withdraws and trades. Lets put there more focus. I'd like to see some volume go into cex.io too although I find their fees a little high for my liking. Their interface is excellent though. |

Thanks, that's good info. I didn't catch the bit about dynamic priced masternodes. How is that value and frequency of chance going to be set or is that still in discussion stages?
dynamic price will not be set, instead it will be decided by the "free market", allowing for a very healthy competition. The amount of possible "masternode seats" is the thing that will be limited, and the more money you invest in your masternode the more secure your "seat reservation" gets. Some people will invest only a few SPR (the minimum), others will invest 10x more SPR in their masternode. Now if you only invest the bare minimum you run the risk of becoming "the weakest link" and a newcomer who just invests 1 SPR more than you might throw your masternode out of the race. But you can always reenter the race by investing more than the new weakest link, etc... Yes !  A multi faceted ponzi is exactly what a dev making fraudulent claims of true decentralization needs ! Fyi.. the 800 mhash whales and insiders will use their unfair advantage to price 99% of you out of the market. I'll let your imagination decide how their greed and (3rd party  ) control of the network will affect things. @eduffield and chums and/or wannabe's .. Have you ever legitimately EARNED anything in life ? Eduffield has nothing to do with SPR. I agree on the false sense of decentralisation. There are some mighty big farms out there. I've rented X11 rigs with greater hash rate than the whole network hashrate of SPR. I don't know whether they will perform as well using SpreadX11. Hi,
I keep a few antminers on a raspberry PI for a bit of fun solo mining Bitcoin a bit like an alternative to the lottery and I have decided that I want to upgrade to something with a few more GH/s without upping my power bill by much.
Does anybody in the UK have a U3 or two that they would sell me?

Whow these buy walls on crypts are still standing ! amazing ! 25k at 0.0063 price will rise up to the point where otoh gets his coins. After that we have 75 more masternodes, that should also push the price upward. this is a good time to get into drk, before we reach old territories, even for dumpers. TBH I`m wondering how high Otoh will put his bid offer before it will be fully filled, really, because so far nobody wants to dump his coins into his order. Thats good. Otoh can prise my darkcoins out of my sweaty grip at 0.1 when he gets back from his travels  |

Lack of information is a big concern for me as well. Very hard to invest in a coin when there is no update about upcoming development.

Am I really reading that the only benefit that SPR offers over DRK is that it is at an earlier stage so its a better time to buy in? That, apart from the little bit that Mr Spread posts, is all I can find. There is an abundance of info on upcoming development. MrSpread and the community have talked alot about SPR MN's. DRK MN's amount needed are set to 1000 DRK where as SPR MN's are dynamic (the minimum amount needed for a SPR MN will fluctuate). We already know SPR is solo mining only, this combined with DRK's features will make SPR a real competitor to DRK. Not just a copycat coin with its unique forward thinking pool prevention and the safety it brings. SPR is currently at 0.000582BTC, with a supply of 1,630,000 SPR. I think that it's really encouraging for the future of the coin that two main exchanges have a large amount of liquidity available for a big DRK holder to sell into should they wish and nobody has taken it so far... If you're sitting on up to 75k of DRK that you want to exit from then you're not going to argue over 10% here or there and you would take the 0.00625 price and run. The opportunity to sell into such a large bid without crashing the price doesn't come along often so I'm surprised none of the big players have taken it yet... This can only be bullish for DRK in my humble opinion! Walter Agree, but with 2 million DRK now tied up in masternodes and many other firm holders I am not surprised the market is tight, I think we are seeing a "good" rise, nice slow grinding higher each day, people coming in and out.... A bit like growth, debt fueled is bad, but productivity based is good, I feel like we are seeing "good" growth.... Having said that I think DRK is funamentally undervalued and at some points it will pop, probably over 0.01, and then stay there.. I'm interested to see whether there will be any price change as a result of the upcoming reduction in block reward. In perfect theoretical lab conditions a 7% drop in block reward should lead to a 7% increase in coin value...right? |

So that is why I should buy 50BTC of SPR instead of 50 BTC of DRK? Darkcoin is a good investment they have a great developer and already have a good market acceptance. Spreadcoin has a great developer and is still in development and market acceptance, it's up to you to decide which would be the best investment. Now wish you good luck in your investments! Thanks. Is there an omerta within this community? All this talk of silence before storms and Spreadcoin to the moon and nobody can tell me what is going on with development!
Surely somebody should be posting what is exciting, new or upcoming about Spreadcoin on each new page to tempt people into buying in?
Explain it to me like I've never heard of the coin before. Lets say I have 50 BTC sitting in my pocket. Why would you encourage me to put up some SPR buy walls? What makes this coin better than other coins? I just can't find the info!
Well if the MasterNodes are implemented Spread will become a top 10 coin. You are investing in a promise now, that's why Spread is still relatively cheap. I have a lot of confidence in Mr. Spread. He is a great developer and he will implement MN and other cool features. In the end it's up to you to make an educated descision on why you want to get into this coin. The good thing is you already found it, you are still early. Why would introducing masternodes make SPR a top ten coin? Whats better about SPR masternodes? I do have some Spreadcoin but I have held off buying more because of the lack of information on future development. Screenshots of GUIs mean nothing. |

Bitcoin apart, is there any other alt that has passed its all time high after the previous crash? Will we be the first?  I lay awake at night wondering about this. I'm going to be bold and say I think it will. I think Darkcoin will reach $15 again in 2015. InstantX, Darksend, increased merchant adoption, robust masternode network...goodness knows what else our mega team of devs is going to pull out of the bag. I think we could do with some penetration into China and the far east and we need BTC to have a reasonably good year (which I think it will). |

The latest shift for the Darkcoin multipool paid out over 70 DRK. Still need more hash for Scrypt & more importantly X11 algo. If you're looking for a new home for your X11 hash, bring it over!
