2521  Economy / Speculation / Re: ₿ not going below 40.000 (probably) on: February 27, 2022, 12:49:53 PM
~
I disagree though, I'm a bearish person this year, but what we have seen today, the growth itself, convince me that the price could touch $40k again, it's just a question of time. I think the relative strength of bitcoin could settle around $43'ish and that is the price that we could see bitcoin stablised for this year and not below it.
I am also expecting a huge correction this year and the market turning bearish but when the Russia Ukraine war started, the market started dropping drastically but i was skeptical because i was expecting everyone to move their assets to safer ones like BTCitcoin when you are under attack and that is what happened as the market recovered quickly after a sharp decline. Global situation will determine when we will have a major correction.

Yep, in the last 48 hours, the price remains very solid and there is no sharp decline, meaning not enough sellers in the market. I agree that global situation is sometimes the most important factor whether the price will go down and up. But so far, the war seems to be very positive for crypto market as we might have a good attempt at $40k range.
2522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 27, 2022, 11:33:33 AM
If Durant can come back with a good performance, Brooklyn Nets will come up with a very different game in the playoffs. Before entering the playoffs, it is very important what place you are in, it can be quite challenging to match the best teams in the first round. Teams that finished 3rd or 4th in my opinion are the luckiest teams in this regard. I think we will watch a good playoffs Smiley
I expect that he can come back with a good performance, he already proven that when he was off for at least one season with the Nets and he came back strong. Just be patient man, he will come back for sure and it's not a big burden for him as he still has Irving, and with Simmons, I expect things to get better for them.

Same here, if Durant comes back in time, then they can still survived in the regular games and go with the playoffs.

And then with Simmons waiting for his time and they occasional Irving being inserted, they could still manage to last 6th-7th spot in the East and automatic playoff berths. It might not be good position at they are going to face the top teams but we will never know specially with KD at the lineup.
2523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Martinez - Feb 26, 2022 on: February 27, 2022, 04:39:36 AM
Ancajas long reign as a champion is now over, Martinez has now crowned the new champion via unanimous decision  Martinez show heart and power he overwhelms Ancajas with so many punches the number is very staggering, Ancajas cannot keep up with those many punches he landed good body punches but not enough to stop Martinez's barrage of punches I thought the referee will stop the fight because of those big punches by Martinez,  congratulations to Martinez.
That was a one sided match, Ancajas suddenly became flat-footed in that fight as you can see he was really exhausted. He himself knows he is gonna lose in that fight,it was an upset, and congratulations to those who see it coming.

I agree, it was one sided beat down from the very first round, as other have observed, there is no movement from Anjacas and he chooses to go toe to toe, yes he can take the punch, but it was wrong strategy because Martinez does have that energy to continue with those volumes. And when we thought that he is getting tired and Ancajas started to hit him, Martinez goes volume punching again. Too bad that I have lost my bet but it is what it is.
2524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Martinez - Feb 26, 2022 on: February 26, 2022, 07:52:41 PM
That is a good odd indeed, but I would rather bet on winner & round range:

either:  Ancajas 4-6 @7.40

Ancajas 7-9 @5.80

You can bet on that two lines and if you win, you are still guaranteed a profit. You have 6 rounds for Ancajas to beat by KO his opponent, you just have to hope that it will not happen in the early rounds because that means you will lose your bet.

Ancajas by KO is also a good bet, but if you are betting on the round ranges, betting on the KO is not a good idea anymore, you are staking a lot of money with one outcome, not profitable IMO.

Yeah, I have taken the chances already and go with Ancajas here. And as you have said, good bet and the two lines is a guaranteed profit if I hit either one of them.

So I think boxing fans, specially Filipino around the world and in the US are going to tune in and the fight because Ancajas is a rising champion. Someone needs to carry the flag for them after Pacman is retired now.
2525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol - May 7 on: February 26, 2022, 07:15:20 PM
8-0 in favor of Canelo, it seems like no one believes that Canelo will lose in this fight.

I honestly don't hear the name of his opponent,  I think he is not popular, so I guess Canelo's chance to win here is very high. I read some comments in this thread and the other that after this fight if Canelo wins, he has a chance to face GGG which is a mega fight, so I would follow this fight as I love to witness a trilogy of the two huge names in boxing.

I also don't have an idea on how Bivol fights on the ring so I guess it would also be too early to see him as a weak opponent. However, Canelo will surely show off his aggressiveness on the ring again, especially because of the challenge of facing GGG if ever he'll be victorious in this match. It will surely be an exciting fight.

The problem is that this guy is campaigning at 175 lbs and not American, that's why him and Beterbiev is relatively unknown to many casual fans. But his records speak for itself, undefeated with good KO percentage. So this is an exciting fight and will be a good test for Alvarez. And after this fight, it will be him and GGG for the trilogy.
2526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 26, 2022, 12:22:07 PM

If they remain to play like this and Harden+Embiid will have good chemistry then then maybe we can say that they are a title contender team for that.

Definitely, when Harden gets a good rating when playing with Embiid, that means they have chemistry. Imagine, it's only his first game and he almost tallies a triple double, you can tell how all around he is as a player and the Sixers really needed that.

Yeah, so all have been answered, we've seen the two of them played and there are no problem whatsoever. Joel still dominates inside although there are moments in the game wherein you think that there will be a comeback. And then Harden erupted in the latter part. So I guess there is no disruption and give credit to coach Rivers as well more making that subtle adjustment.
2527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can NFTs disrupt the traditional economy? on: February 25, 2022, 07:15:06 PM
What does this have to do with NFT disrupting the economy?

This is also the question that comes to my mind. Yes, there will be investors on NFT, but I don't see it disturbing the economy specially in the negative way.

It is just part of crypto market, hence we are not sure if the NFT hype will continue or not in the future. So just join the bandwagon make some money and that's it.
2528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Martinez - Feb 26, 2022 on: February 25, 2022, 03:32:35 PM

And as expected, Jerwin is the favorite to win 1.16, Fernando Martinez 5.20.

Seriously? I can't believe that Ancajas is heavily favored here with that kind of odds, I think it will be around 1.50 and below, but that is too low, I mean who would take 1.16? It's not even a sure win IMO.

By the way, what sportsbook is your basis for the odds?

Actually 1.15 at sportsbet.

There are no alternative lines now, only the Moneyline, you can get 1.15 for Ancajas while 5.20 for Martinez.
Check it here;
https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/boxing/international/international-matchups/ancajas-jerwin-vs-martinez-fernando-6216379dd2eeb928bac23cb4

That's even lower than sportsbet but the odds are still low and I won't take it. I'm still checking on the betting odds from time to time, and as of my current check, the alternative odds is still not available yet, I have a feeling that they are going to make this up by tomorrow.

edit : oops, looks like the entire odds are out, check it out now.

Thanks, odds are now updated.

Some interesting odds.

Ancajas by KO 2.25

Winner & round range - Ancajas 1-3 @14. .. It's a very attractive odds for me, if he will have a good start and will hit Martinez clean, the fight might end earlier than expected.

That is a good odd indeed, but I would rather bet on winner & round range:

either:  Ancajas 4-6 @7.40

Ancajas 7-9 @5.80

I think Martinez is a tough fighter so I'm not seeing Jerwin winning around 1-3. He will have to break Martinez mid to later rounds.
2529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 25, 2022, 02:33:10 PM
Those handicaps for GSW, Denver and Boston all are well covered if I get your point right. If anyone managed to parlay those three

the earnings are huge, not just 5 but more than that for sure. Let see if who among our active poster here who managed to take those

and win. Just check the game between GSW and Blazers. I was i the impression that Curry continue his hot hands, to my surprise he only has 18 points,

it's the whole cast of GSW who made the gap so wide.

Including Phoenix Suns. I won three of them but didn't put in a parlay. I just hate it sometimes when I lose 1 of many and it's a close one to cover the spread. That's why I am only doing single bets on team wins right now.

Yeah, Curry was in the mood to be the quarterback for the team while Draymond Green is still healing from his injury and it worked. 14 assists and he also showed some defense with 1 steal (I think it should have been 2 but he didn't get the ball) and 1 block. That's the new Steph for now until their playmaker comes back.

I love what the Warriors did, Curry does not need to score a lot, he just needs to move the ball well and get everyone involved, that way they are move effective and they can easily win. It's been a while since I saw the Warriors dominating their opponent, they are just back here, and hopefully, we will see some consistency going forward.

That's what I noticed in the last several games of Curry, instead of carrying the load, he start with distributing the ball to his team mates, get them involved in the game. So he doesn't need to score more points in they have build a good lead. And with the Memphis on losing skid right now, they solidify their second spot on the West, training the Suns.
2530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: February 25, 2022, 01:58:45 PM
^^ Good to hear that somewhat there is a progress already. I think April is a good date for the fight in Japan and hopefully covid case has subsided already.

Yes, there have been post already saying that Japan might open it's border soon. So this might be the first in their calendar to be allowed.

And now that GGG is back on training, it seems that he still has something to prove and wanted to win because there is a possibility that he can get to Canelo next maybe in a catchweight or even at 168 lbs.

He really need to stay on top shape for this fight and be not like a 40 year old fighter. So he goes on training mode again and should win this fight base on votes and odds and hopefully there will be no surprise upset, and then he can talk and call Canelo again post fight interview.
2531  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull Run in Bitcoin on: February 25, 2022, 01:33:52 PM
Anyway, as a long term hodler I dont believe we have to wait for the next halving before bullrun will occur (or we can reach another ATH). The market is unpredicted and the Bitcoin wont move downward consistently since many people will still take the opportunity to buy.
Hopefully, the market will recover soon and we will see the next bull run in the near. If the price can reach another ATH, I am sure we will be very happy as we already made a big profit before and then will take another big profit again. Yes, the market now becomes mysterious without knowing what will happen later. But I still believe that sooner or later, bitcoin will get more support and that means bitcoin prices will increase step by step until bitcoin reaches the last ATH.

It did recover, so we are back in the $38k range, meaning we might be looking at breaking the whole number barrier of $40k so this is a good indication that even if Russia has invaded Ukraine people remains bullish on bitcoin. And who knows, maybe next month we can see the price again at $50k as people started to flock on bitcoin because they wanted to preserve their wealth and secure their future.
2532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 24, 2022, 12:48:02 PM
Let's resume betting.

Nets vs Celtics.

No Durant, Irving, and Simmons. These are the big 3 of the team, so it's automatic, I believe that the Celtics will dominate and beat the Nets more than 10 points, I'm taking the spread without hesitation, good luck.

As I also said in the previous thread, this is a good game to bet on Celtics.

They are on a good record for the last 10 games and Nets also won couple of games with their new line up, is still going to struggle against a top team like the Celtics who is healthy and complete.

So easy pick for us to go wit the Celtics on the spread against the Nets.
2533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 24, 2022, 10:59:09 AM
And the regular season games are on again tonight! Brooklyn Nets - Boston Celtics game is the most attention getting one in my opinion. Their win and loss statistics are similar to each other but I won't be saying the same thing for the performances recently. Nets are having a problematic period of time these days while Celtic are doing superb things. Here in this game, Celtics are going to be the closest team to win certainly. But maybe Nets might surprise us and defeat Celtics by a slight gap.

They are two different teams though, Boston Celtics is 9-1 and Nets 2-8 on their last 10 games.

So Nets are struggling even prior to the trade of Harden and then Celtics one of hottest team so far.

And it's easy to bet here, for sure bettors will side on the part of Celtics. So I doubt that this the most attention games out of the seven. I think it will be Suns vs Thunder, because it will be a big test for the Phoenix without CP3.
2534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: February 24, 2022, 10:25:45 AM
^^ It's too early to say what will happen to Casimero, but yeah for sure he will have this in mind and could be a nuisance for him specially if media from the Philippines are going to interview him because for sure his subject will be brought up. He is not guilty yet so let justice go on its proper course. Maybe the girl is telling the truth or not, its only the judge that can decide base on evidence and facts presented.

The process will take time, the fight will be finished first in most instances, this accused will be processed.

Knowing the justice system it will take time, it might affect him inside, but the focus on his boxing skills i doubt Casimero
will allow it to disturb him.

It's just an accused till the process takes place, when the judge order if there's ground about this case, though even there's
valid accusation Casimero's camp can still challenge it and another proceeding will take place.

I agree that it might take some time, and knowing how justice system is in the Philippines it could go on for months or even years.

But the question is how this allegations will have an effect on him. He has an upcoming fight and he needs to focus on it. And how can he do that if at the back of his mind, he is thinking about this case back in the Philippines and for sure he is also worry of his family and his kids as this could get out of hand.
2535  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Be comfortable with your strategy! on: February 24, 2022, 09:40:29 AM
There is no such thing as accurate strategy because if there are then nobody will lose but nobody will share that accurate strategy for free and I do not think the person will sell it when he is already making a good gains with it.

Right, there could be strategy that work on certain individual, but not for everyone. So it's up to us to find what is the best for us. There is no one size fits all in crypto.

Applying all possible strategy is nice tho because this can give you a different experience. You may lose but at least you already tried everything not unlike us that our knowledge is still limited because we do not take the time to try every other things in crypto. Sometimes it needs time to know if the start works good for you and you wont know this is you will quickly navigate on the other start and do the same thing.

In the beginning, yeah, this could be a good approach. But if you have gain enough experience already, it's time to filter out which one fits you and which one doesn't. At least you know where you are coming from and it will give you a good chance to win and be successful in the end.
2536  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia - Ukraine | War imminent? on: February 24, 2022, 08:57:57 AM
Russia adoption if Bitcoin was to fund for the war since the world is in a state bof recession.
Prior to this invasion, I think Ukraine had this foresight and adopted bitcoin since most banks will be shut down during this invasion.
Bitcoin has a role to play in all of this happening.

Well there are news that Russia might circumvent US and West sanctions by going to bitcoin.

But I think this is just all speculation at this point, it seems that Putin has a hard line stance on crypto so he might be contracting himself if he suddenly goes to bitcoin to fight the sanctions.

As for the war, we already felt the effect, I was surprised to see the price when I woke up. But the news of the imminent war is all over so I told my self that the drop has something to do with this geo-political news.
2537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be prepared on: February 23, 2022, 07:36:52 PM
The cryptocurrency market reward those who are not only diligent but are also good at taking advantage of the opportunities in the market by preparing ahead. It may be difficult to gain the skill of prediction as one may have to predict the outcome of the market forces to benefit from the volatile nature of the industry.
It will be difficult to master prediction skills, even for a top trader, because the market is unpredictable where it will go. Even if you predict the price will touch one price point, it can go beyond that price point because the market is always spinning without us knowing where it is going. But by learning to analyze, we can figure out the direction a little so that we can place buy or sell orders depending on the direction of the market.

Yup, no exact science here, TA can only help us to a certain extend, but sometimes it will also fail us. Others uses hunch, wild educated guess and it's a gamble so they can win or lose in a blink of an eye.

That's why we really need to be smart here, if we can used logical thinking then good and not let our emotions take over. Education is the key to become a smart investor and be successful in this crypto market.
2538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 23, 2022, 06:45:42 PM
Is it me or this is one of the worst dunk contest I ever watched? I think the one that is best for me is the 2016 All star dunk contest, I think it's better to have a Aaron Gordon vs Zach LaVine rematch I would want to see those two competing to dunk contest again, I hope we would have a good one next year.

Yeah I find it boring as well.
We have all seen those common dunks, but what else an NBA player can do when they don't really specialized in being creative on their dunks, they are trained to win games not to win a dunk contest. So, If there are good dunkers in the NBA, then lucky if they want to participate in the dunk contest If they won't then this is the kind of outcome we are expected to see.
It is already given, not every year we see a Vince Carter like or Aaron Gordon and Zach Lavine like NBA dunkers.

Yup I think anyone who has followed the NBA for years knows that this year's NBA slam dunk is kinda soft. No highlights dunks that we can remember for years.

And speaking of Vince's winning the slam dunk in 2000, just watch it a couple of minutes ago. Yeah, it was really huge that time, we haven't seen that kind of dunks before.
2539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: February 23, 2022, 05:52:59 PM
Obviously Golovkin vs Murata is going to proceed as a sure thing for Golovkin and I think Murata knows it. Maybe thats the real reason behind the constant unending reschedules and waiting. Murata wants to put things off indefinitely because he can't really win against GGG.

Nah, I doubt that's the main reason, on the contrary, he might be eager to fight GGG right now because he wanted to show his fans in Japan.

I also find it quite amusing that all 26 voters voted for GGG in this thread's poll. Amusing but not surprising. I may be wrong for the reason why its being rescheduled but thats just my take on things.

It's not amusing, fight fans here knows that GGG will have all the advantage against Murata. It might be a very difficult and close fight, but in the end, it will still be GGG.

Has there been any news from Murata on this?

None so far except that there are news that Japan is easing regarding foreigners visiting their country. So that is a good sign that this fight might happen in the next couple of months.
2540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 23, 2022, 12:00:10 PM
I'm currently looking at the next game between Phoenix vs. OKC. This Suns will be without CP3 due to injury but I think Booker and the rest can still manage a win against a struggling OKC. I'm just wondering at what spread is the most likely outcome? It sounds easy to take Phoenix (-9.5) @ 1.83 but teams at the bottom are unpredictable. OKC (9.5) @1.96 could be covered as well. Thoughts?

If CP3 is out, I'll likely not go for a double digits spread on Phoenix Suns, he's always been the core of their offence, I'm sure Suns would still be a competitive without him, but I'd rather watch them play without him than have some money on the line.

CP3 had an injury on their last game against the Rockets, though he suffered an avulsion fracture in his right thumb but the Suns already said that they're looking for 6-8 weeks without him or until the regular season ends. Nonetheless, the Suns are still tough and hard to beat even without CP3. They can still win but I bet they will have a hard time covering a double digit spread, so a safer spread to bet is below -8.

Yeah, but we all know that CP3 orchestrated everything for the Suns. So it will be a big test for them to play without him and see how it goes for them. Maybe Cameron Payne has learn a lot from Paul that he can somewhat manage and cover the chores. And this is a good opportunity for him to show his talent for his team. Booker will really need to step up his game, night in night out to maintain their top seed.
