As of now, many users are down or disappointed in this merit system because lack of attention in the forum, as you can see many users are suffering how to make some constructive post or making a good post to gain some merit and to be ranked up, up to Member or higher than that. As I follow some other ICO's or projects are currently hiring a member ranked or higher that, then what happen to the jr.member? They have been stuck because they trying to give there best to make a constructive post and not giving them an attention.

The problem doesn't lie in struggling to make constructive posts the problem is in putting forth the effort to learn enough to make a contribution to the forum that people find constructive.
They are free to post in local boards until such a time that the poster can make a coherent English sentence, it doesn't have to be perfect but should get the idea across.
Also if the Junior member is just here to "earn" then they will be stuck where they belong. Earning here is a privilege not a right.

Quote
As I can see the merit system problem is lack of sendable merit, you can earn merit by meriting your post right, then what happen is when that users is not gaining.

This is designed to allow the Merit system to outlive it's initial launch. Other than Merit sources you will need to be deemed a quality poster by the community to have the privilege to send out merit. You can always nominate someone else in the threads offering Merit for quality if you really think they deserve it

Quote
Also about who are now in the higher ranked some other users are kind and give some sendable merit to the other users also, but I must say that focus to the users who are posting constructive post or contributer in this forum not the one who are famous users who are merited most.

I think you are trying to say that the higher ranked members should be sending Merits to lower ranked members??? If so they do when they feel a post has earned it. They also send it to high ranked members. That's the system at play, if anyone feels a post is "quality" in their mind then they can send Merit.

Edit: I actually don't know what you're trying to say. After re-reading your post, it's not really a whiny one, but rather... You're trying to give advice to others? I actually have no idea what you're trying to say.

I broke it down into parts and went with what I thought they meant. No one but OP really know what they meant and it will probably be a while before they can clearly explain it to us

Hi there,

Anyone who was scammed should proceed to open up a scam accusation against the account involved. You can do so here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

Make sure to include your PM's and any other information you have to prove your case. If it appears to have been a scam a DT member will usually come along and tag OP as their tags are more visible to the community.
Also tag them with your feedback, as some people ( Not enough people) do actually read these.

As a rule of thumb you should always use Escrow, the cost may not seem worth it but then you see a case like this that serves as a reminder.

can i use one 841 without the auc3?

I think you can I remember reading about it somewhere. The problem lies in the fact that you can't daisy chain in any other Miners. I might be wrong but That's how I remember it being laid out.

What's the problem is your AUC3 defective?

Here is the hardware thread on the 841; HAggs has had some training at Canaan and may be able to shed more light on that question.

3725  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: AvalonMiner 841 fan issue on: April 06, 2018, 02:28:48 AM
Which way is the air exhausting out of the unit? I don't have an 841 but I think they still exhaust the same as the 741, air leaves on the fan side.

I remember a few units that had the fan installed backwards, from previous generations. Now it doesn't explain the fan RPM changing especially if the speed is set at minimum of 100. EDIT: although the backpressure from pushing through the unit as opposed to pulling through might affect the RPM that the fan can spin at.

Just something to check on before swapping fans out. If it is the fan it's a simple fix of removing the shroud and flipping it around.

no site hashrate, workers, etc.

Moving workers until i know what's going on Sad

When something like that happens. Check the miner status page.

This will tell you if you are still hashing away and whether or not you are on your primary/secondary or tertiary pool.

Mine on

You should inquire in the active thread for the dragonmint.

I think some people have received some but the information about the product and company is patchy at best.

Will you accept trusted forum escrow?

Are there any restrictions on the $450?

I would offer 20% of face value I would cover the escrow fees

EDIT: found what I needed. Offer retracted
3730  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: AvalonMiner 841 temperature issue on: April 04, 2018, 11:20:57 PM
Just a note the specs are different from the 741 to the 841.

Safe operating temp was up to 40C for the 741's

The 841's say up to 30C for the ambient air temp.

So there are differences to be aware of with the new equipment.

I used one on an l3

Hey Phil

I haven't checked in a while what would your escrow fee be on something like the 420 coupon.

Thanks
3733  Bitcoin / Mining support / AvalonMiner 841 temperature issue on: April 04, 2018, 04:29:52 AM
Looking at your fan intake temperature it looks like your shop is a little warm to begin with. The specs call for intake air temp of 30C ad the high.

You also might be short circuiting the exhaust air to the intake. You might need to look at a better way to exhaust the heat or atleast circulate the air throughout the shop.

3734  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [120+PH] KanoPool kano.is 7 BTC giveaway 🐈 on: April 03, 2018, 06:54:40 PM
I have a problem that seems odd, and probably isn't related to the pool or my configuration related to the pool but I thought I would start here.

So I have a brand new set-up.   4 Avalon 841s daisy chained to one AUC3 hooked to one raspberry PI 3 controller.  I have nothing but love from all the lights on all the equipment:  All green(controller, miners, and AUC3) and all fans spin up just fine.   The controller doesn't see any of the miners tho )-:    There is nothing in the Pi logs insofar as errors are concerned.

The pool website shows my worker uptime as reasonable (since I powered up the controller) and I changed nothing in my configuration from my previous setup with an Avalon 741 which worked fine.   I reset all the little serial connectors and even tried to connect just one miner with no success.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Are you using the same controller (PI) The 841's have a different controller firmware that needs to be flashed onto the PI.

Also if you do have that set properly, did you try switching the cables around you are using to Daisy Chain them, it might be that the first one in the chain is defective. This was just a guess because I don't think the miner lights would be green if this was the case. EDIt: Got my colours switched up might be the cable since this is "idle"

3735  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTS bitmain coupons on: April 03, 2018, 02:35:52 PM
Can you provide proof of ownership of the coupons?

Are you willing to accept forum approved escrow?
3736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: April 03, 2018, 03:40:07 AM

What I think the problem is;  if you run as administrator, you will be executing commands in the batch from c:/windows/system32

thus, you need to make sure your batch is as follows:

Path:to/miner/minerapp.exe -commands

or it will think 'minerapp.exe' is in c:/windows/system32

Well I feel dumb Grin

This solved my issue, for whatever reason last night I didn't try just running it not as administrator. As soon as I read it I facepalmed.

Anyways running now as expected.

I think you misread my message Smiley I bought them back in December. Got delivered in December. And I’ve been mining with them since December Smiley

That makes more sense; to me it read you hadn't received them yet. They are great machines.

Any of the raven miners here using HIVE and amd (rx 570) cards?

I'm getting pretty garbage numbers ( 120kh/S per card)
*snip*

Add these parameters to the "Extra Config Section" for SGMiner in Hive:

"worksize":"256"
"gpu-threads":"2"

"intensity":"20"

YMMV.

Thanks, I've updated the wallet and will give Hive another go tonight. I don't like to pass up the opportunity to learn something; can you tell me what blue the commands mean?

Here I was excited that maybe someone was going to post on topic, and maybe even comment on my idea. Oh woe is me.

And did they really do anything wrong the posts were all a reasonable amount in different topics that each one found value in.

It just looks like they frequent the same threads and areas and like the posts that try and curb all the shit pilling up in the forum.
