381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: risk nothing, you're risking more on: July 11, 2023, 08:30:31 PM
Welcome to the forum! It appears that this is your first post here, and it's great to see that you've already learned from your past mistakes. There's nothing wrong with that because you're in the right place to grow. Instead of dwelling on what you've done in the past, focus on the lessons you've learned. Remember, regret won't change your past, but you have the power to shape your future.

Taking risks is essential if you want to achieve success. Bitcoin, being a highly volatile cryptocurrency, requires patience to profit from it. The good news is that it's not too late, as Bitcoin is currently in an accumulation zone. By staying patient and making informed decisions, you can still benefit from this opportunity.
You’re right. In bitcoin, there’s no late or early, you are just in the perfect timing to dwell with bitcoin and maximize its accumulation. Especially that bitcoin halving is near approaching, so it’s not the time to regret anymore, hence take the risk and move forward. What’s important is that you have learned your lesson in the past, and you won’t let yourself miss another opportunity from bitcoin. Otherwise, you’ll never have the opportunity anymore that will bring life changing experience for you and to your whole family.
382  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: July 10, 2023, 09:56:22 PM
Luxury watches at the top end of the market can be considered as an alternative form of investment. While I don't possess extensive knowledge about watches, my understanding from available information suggests that reselling them can yield a substantial profit. The return on investment for luxury watches tends to be quite satisfactory. Prominent examples of such watches include Patek Philippe, Rolex, and Audemars Piguet, some of which have a waitlist spanning two years. Most of these watches tend to appreciate in value.

However, the worth attributed to an item is typically influenced by its demand and supply. While I believe that owning one or two high-end watches, provided they are well-maintained, may outperform stocks, gold, and real estate, it's worth noting that their appeal may diminish over time. This is because future generations are increasingly gravitating towards other interests, such as bitcoin and other emerging trends. If given the choice, would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin, digital assets, gold, stocks, or real estate?
Owning any luxury items are still a form of good investment but it needs a lot of capital so you can start with it. And I don't think I can afford it for now. I would rather take part in Bitcoin investing and save my hard-earned money for now so I can invest a portion of it in the future. Bitcoin investment is way more promising as long as you are investing at the right time and store your Bitcoin at a secured wallet.
383  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I start my journey on bitcoin talk forum i.e. in crypto world. on: July 10, 2023, 09:28:32 PM
Hello. How are you all?  I am new to this forum.  I came to know about bitcoin forum from a friend of mine.  But I don't know much about forums.  What should I do in this situation?  I know about Bounty but I am not interested in Bounty.  How do I start working?  What should I do? I want your help to start my journey-
Thanks-
What you need is to acquire knowledge first and focus on studying the threads in the forum because that will help you realize your real purpose in the forum. Do not think of working or investing for quick profits because you will only fail in the end and your money and efforts will definitely go into waste.
384  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Not Just Buy BTC? on: July 10, 2023, 08:59:26 PM
I've seen over one dozen websites believing that BTC will skyrocket in the upcoming years.
The platform I use is Coinbase.
I'm thinking of just buying BTC-USD and just leaving it be.
Any thoughts on this strategy?

Buying bitcoin is always a great move. But putting it into an exchange within an indefinite time, that will be a very wrong move. You will never have the assurance if you will still benefit or profit from it in the end as you might wake up one day losing all your bitcoin because the exchange you trusted suddenly become insolvent and was forced to close their operation. Do not wait for the reality to hit you. Just keep your bitcoin safe by storing it in  your personal and non-custodial wallet. That way, you will gain the full control of the security of your coins.
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Positive thoughts and attitude towards Bitcoin. on: July 10, 2023, 08:32:52 PM
From the time I studied in class eight, I used to take money from my father, uncle, elder brothers on the occasion of religious festivals. After few years I kept saving money and with the saved money I started a quail and pigeon farm. After two years of service I got a fairly good benefit from them. One day I got to know about Bitcoin by meeting an elder brother while visiting a place. After learning about Bitcoin, my curiosity increased and gradually I tried to learn more about Bitcoin and became attracted to Bitcoin. A few months ago when the bitcoin market was 17 thousand USD I invested 80% of the dividend in the bitcoin market and I still hold it. When I do any work, I trust the right thinking and decision of my own morale towards that work. I think Bitcoin will be more valuable in the next few years and maybe it will reverse but I have confidence I hold it. When investing in something there is always risk involved. I think risk is the possibility of gaining or losing something valuable.
What you did is a good move. Bitcoin is a high risk investment but if you trust and hold it for long term, the risk of losing will be reduced and with right mindset and attitude, not selling when price turns crashing, then you will have bigger opportunities to reap huge profits in time. My advice is just tighten your faith, bitcoin may move so slowly, but when bull market happens, every hardwork and patience you did will paid off and selling at its peak price will bring exceptional profits more than you imagine.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 07, 2023, 08:29:47 PM
So even though I know nothing is going to happen, I'm just curious to hear what the actual reason was behind all this if that ever happens, I doubt if they will reveal the reason behind this to the public but I'm sure there is something which we can't see and they are doing it only for that.

They won't fight that is for sure! META the Instagram parent company is copying Twitter. They have recently launched a feature know as Threads few hours back and all of this is just a marketing gimmick to promote this new feature. If you want to how it all started then you need to read the OP. It is all written in their as usual everything associated with technology billionaires is either promoting their projects on their platform or manipulating the markets. We did saw how Elon Musk deliberately manipulated Bitcoin price and a meme coin price using Twitter and later bought it when he relaized the power of social media.

Do they have to resort to gimmickry if they are going to launch something, both technology giants can launch a platform and their users will easily adopt it, just like the first time Mark Zuckerberg launches
Instagram and recently,  reels, right now it's still a hot topic and both camps are not backing up but you are right until they sign a contract the fight is still questionable.

I don't think so. Making a speculative fight doesn't really make sense to me just because they are planning to launch something as the names like Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk surely doesn't need something like this just to become relevant in the public and so that the people will know if they are launching something or not. The question now is why Mark was the one who launched it first when in-fact it was Elon who started this engagement? As I said, doesn't really make sense.

While Elon was trying to turn Twitter into a town hall of the world and video hosting site, Facebook is about to kill its plan. Doesn't sound like a gimmick, they are rivals. This is like China vs the US already lol Zuckerberg for US while Elon for China.

There were reports that Zuckerberg is developing a Twitter-like platform that will compete with the real Twitter bought by Musk. This is a threat to Elon's new toy and seems like the war is really on between the two. It's just unsure if they will really be doing it physically.

I don't mean to see them fight because it is not really needed anyway and I'm just expecting that there could be something behind these acts but half of me is thinking that it's much more interesting if we will see them dancing inside the same ring/octagon as it will heighten the tension between the two of them. Elon and Mark will somehow commence their own plans to destroy each other and launch some projects for the same reasons as they are the ones right now who are competing to lead the social media.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: July 07, 2023, 07:54:24 PM

And to think, maybe Moloney can indeed evade Donaire for good because there are other vacant belts that needs to be possessed and given the latter's situation, he might not last that long in the industry where he can fight Moloney and be the undisputed champion while there are no boxers that are much stronger than him.
That doesn't sound good; a champion evading his fellow champion gives the impression that he doesn't want to achieve the ultimate success of being the best of the best. If only champions were required for a unification fight, we would certainly witness an entertaining matchup. As it stands, Moloney can cherry-pick opponents to maintain his championship status.

If only that is how this industry works, we probably had some champions who are only the best of their divisions and are truly strong compared to the others who failed in climbing the ladder because they will no longer have the choice to select an opponent as they will have to fight anybody who are trying to replace them in their own throne. But that's just too good to be true because we all know that it's not how the industry works, the leverage gives them an advantage to maintain their status even without fighting somebody who is indeed a lot more stronger than them and by now, it's not that new as we have know some of them.

It's business now and they are looking for a fight that can give them more money, and then less risk high rewards. Maybe for Moloney this is high risk for them and his team will have to find excuses to stay away from Donaire which they did and then go on easy fight to win the vacated belt. So good strategy by his camp for this one. Unlike in the 80's, maybe the era for most of us here who started to watch boxing. And then we see those legendary fights, even trilogy just to settle the score. Now it's a totally different era. And we really don't know who is really the best in the division unless they face each other.

Now it's more on the business side and somehow, we can say that most of these boxers got their books and lessons from Mayweather Jr. because the renowned boxing champion maintained his glory days while also executing some of the tricks to retain his status and be undefeated until the day he retired, but the trouble is, we cannot say that he was really unstoppable during his time because he evaded some of them and then fought some boxers when they are already approaching the retirement phase.
388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 06, 2023, 09:27:32 PM
No news yet on Dame's trade, seems to be so quiet and it only means no deal has been done or there are still like ironing things out.

Currently, there are no concrete news about Dame's trade and Portland is still giving the Heat the chance to have Dame this offseason.
Regarding about the trade, it seems that a 3rd party is needed on the trade and it's the Brooklyn Nets who surfaced amongst all teams who are interested to facilitate it because Portland have changed their mind and that they are now not interested in getting Tyler Herro.

Here's the Mock Trade:

Miami Heat gets:
Damian Lillard
Jusuf Nurkic

Portland Trail Blazers gets:
Ben Simmons
Kyle Lowry
Nikola Jovic
2028 first-round pick (via Brooklyn)
2028 first-round pick (via Miami)
2030 first-round pick (via Miami)

Brooklyn Nets gets:
Tyler Herro
2026 second-round pick (via Miami)

Source: https://allucanheat.com/2023/07/06/perfect-3-team-trade-damian-lillard-miami-heat/

Honestly Portland gets 3 future first round picks in thos package which isn't all that bad.  They can plan for the future but the only thing I'd say is that they'd want those first round picks a lot closer to now.  Like okc has done, stacked all the young guys together and let them grow together.  If two of those are in the 2024-2026 range I'd say that would get it done.

Of course, when you get a lot of future picks, then it's good for your team, however, it is still not an assurance that you can select young players that can blossom to be a superstar, many teams have done this before and most of the times it doesn't pay that much.

As for the flopping, at least the league is doing something now, for those who have been watching NBA for years, we don't want to see players flopped to act to sell a foul. And that's why you will hear former NBA legends saying that the game is now soft as compare to previous era.

Those future picks don't always get used as actual picks though.  Most of the time they use them at trade deadlines to snahlg up current players that will help theor team.  Having a ton of future firsts gives you the flexibility of how you want to shape your team for the next 5-10 years.  Picks are a commodity almost as good as players are.

It's up for the Portland now on how will they use these picks, either way, it will be useful for the team to have these kinds of aces on their hands because they have the power to choose whether to use it in draft or to use it in a trade. I'd say that this is already a good package and involving a 3rd team in the trade is making the trade more possible and for Dame to wear the Heat jersey next season. Overall, it's a win-win situation for the teams involved in this trade.
389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 06, 2023, 07:35:37 PM

Casimero's path to becoming a champion won't be easy since he has yet to have a championship fight. Currently, all eyes are focused on the upcoming Fulton vs. Inoue fight. By the time Casimero becomes a champion, Inoue might have already unified a belt and could potentially decide to move up in weight class once again.

If Inoue will gonna just beat his opponents easily just like he beats those guys in the lower weight division, then there's no point for him to stay in his weight class anymore rather he should continue to fully max his potential until he reached his limit and be one of the pound for pound legend in the boxing history. He is still young and surely he will gonna face some real contenders in every weight division and maybe Casimero will be one of them so that he won't be having any doubts about his skills that he was able to beat every opponent out there that are once great like him in his era.

Let's see first if his body can handle some extra weight, the ones that are required in featherweight and above, as talking about the next weight classes are kind of premature as of now because Naoya Inoue is still approaching his first fight at 122 pounds against a champion. Moreover, we don't know yet if his body frame will let him go as far as 130 and 135 lbs.
But if everything will be fine in this current division, I also don't see any reasons why he should remain fighting at 122 because given his status in the industry now, he should take advantage of it while the opportunities are still there.
390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 06, 2023, 05:33:44 PM

That might be the case why both camps are not making any noise regarding about the rematch, as of now, I wouldn't call it as the end of the road between the two of them because Canelo hasn't made an offer yet to contest the fight at 168 and to show that he is indeed eager to make the fight happen to regain his reputation because he only gave an offer at 175 and with the same purse split, that's why Bivol's camp declined automatically without any hesitation.

So, let's see if there will be some changes after Canelo's fight this coming September.

We will know that once an update comes out, for now, there's none and the last declined that happen haven't been updated
so for that possible rematch, we might not see it for now.

But we are in this business and we know that money speaks louder than words. If there're attractable offers, we might see both camps
to negotiate and start the process again.

We can't conclude what will be the fate if rematch may happen or it will be forgotten along the way.

Only if Canelo Alvarez accepts the reality and will accept the fact that he ain't the one who will dictate the fight anymore and will be having the smaller slice of the cake unlike in the first encounter where he got all the advantages in-terms of profits. But now, that is not the situation anymore and if he will not accept it, then I guess we will not see a rematch between Canelo and Bivol.

392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 05, 2023, 02:21:27 PM
True, there are plenty of teams that would go after Lillard with a better offer, so it is highly unlikely that he will be traded to the Heat if there's a better offer, as the Trail Blazers management is always the one to be followed.

here's the article.

Damian Lillard trade destinations: Star wants Heat, but plenty of other teams have more to offer

Teams that are interested are.

Miami Heat
Brooklyn Nets
Philadelphia 76ers
San Antonio Spurs
Toronto Raptors

I recently posted this, but anyway, I never knew that the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors also like to get their hands on Dame Time aswell, this is how much popular Damian Lillard is, despite not getting a ring he is surely an incredible player for sure, but for me I like him to go to the Miami Heat, he can possibly go with the Los Angeles Clippers and then the Clippers will eventually cutting off Kawhi Leonard for just showing off in a game whenever he likes it and never give a thing with practice,

There's a rumor but not as strong as the miami news.

Lillard should take this easy and he should never create any pressure to Blazers since if this team will not like his future actions maybe he will go on the team where he don't like to play. He should wait for offers to come since if he have good separation with Blazers maybe this team will agree on what he likes and release him without any further issues.

A lot of teams has made an offer to get Lillard but not all of them will be catered for now because the Blazers are giving the Heat some time to think about this trade, with of course a deadline in mind, as it is Dame's wishes to play in Miami next season. I'm confident as well that the Blazers will try to allocate Dame as much as possible and they will do what they think is good for both Dame and for the team (Blazers) because it will be unreasonable to trade him for now because the Heat are not making the right package as it was said that they aren't willing include Herro in the trade.

394  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk; a school on its own. on: July 05, 2023, 12:29:59 AM
I am aways very grateful that I am part of this community, and I don't know how my life would have been If I wasn't part this amazing community.I termed it a school due to how broad it is,and how impactful it's knowledge has been on us.So many persons started this forum knowing nothing about bitcoin, but due to the ideas, topics of discuss, and knowledge shared in this forum, they have known several things, and are also teaching other people about bitcoin. We are here to discover several other things we haven't known about bitcoin, and it is only in this Forum that we can get such information, because we have lots experienced people here.I'm glad to belong to this school of thought," Bitcointalk School of thought."

You can do the same comparison in my opinion. But the thing is that here there is no graduation rites or something. You will be here for a long time, not like in school wherein after a certain period you will go out and explore the world.

Here it's a continuous learning, you can even hear senior members here or who have been here for so long that they still learn new things everyday as far as bitcoin investments is. So right now you can explore the community and play around just like maybe you  are like in high school or college so best of luck to you learning here.
As learning has no end, then it’s a good thing that this forum is created so that we can always increase our knowledge gained just like we did in school that is an avenue for a quality learning. But as you’ve said, there is no graduation here, yes it’s true as long as you chose to be active in the forum and continue your learning acquisition. It’s a good thing actually because in reality, there is no stopping battling our struggles in life that’s why we need to kept learning to make us wiser and smarter.
395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Not your keys, Not your coins" is not enough on: July 04, 2023, 09:48:33 PM
Nobody should limit other people's choices because they have various interests, professions, backgrounds or whatever. The important thing is to keep telling them that every decision has its own consequence.
Bitcoin with its unique characteristics may not help in all aspects, on the other hand CEX has advantages at some points even in the judgment of someone with a typical skeptic of anything regulated. Some gangs will even say, "fuck privacy, I know what I'm doing more than you think".
Exactly. We cannot control other people to get rid from CEX since they are also benefiting from it. As long as they do it with caution, then they will never create a problem from trusting CEX. However, if you trusted CEX that much that you decide to put all your coins into it, then I would say you are doing a very wrong move. CEX will never be trustworthy forever. Time will come that they’ll be insolvent due to personal reasons and certainly all your coins will be put at risk. The reason why it’s still early, learn to limit your storage in CEX and just use it when it’s necessary.
396  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad impact when You carry out Online or Offline Loans on an ongoing basis on: July 04, 2023, 09:22:44 PM
Taking a loan is a double edged sword. It can help you at times you're in dire need but also will also put you into the deepest hole where you will not be able to get out of it. While I do agree that some of these online loan sharks attitude and approach towards their borrowers aren't right. But these borrowers won't get to experience that if they're not going to take any loan from them. Well, it's inevitable and every person is likely to have a source of their loan whether it's with these online apps or someone they know personally or with the banks. As much as possible, don't take a loan that you can't afford to pay. These services are where they're earning through high interest rates. Businessmen know how to maximize the usage of their loans and they're putting a good debt to themselves thus, the vice versa of those that can't.
To the furthest extent, avoid taking loans if you can’t handle its pressures most especially those online loans as most of the agents are threatening their clients once they were unable to pay at their due date. That’s one of the reasons these days why some innocent people commit suicide just to end up their pressures from loans or from personal reasons. Although at some point taking loans are beneficial but they can also be a means of ruining your future especially if you let yourself become dependent from taking loans.
397  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not limits your investment... on: July 04, 2023, 08:43:04 PM
The only problem with coins with a value of almost zero is that they could either slip into the shitcoin zone or they will move to be a valuable token and honestly with altcoins investments into coins without a strong foundation it's all gambling at the end of it!!

But seeing the success from your friend,  I guess luck is on his side with these altcoins and  let him continue with them and maybe that 3 bitcoins can double.

Btw that no limits when it comes to investments is a double edged sword which could either reward you handsomely or throwing funds in the drain.
It could be too risky to invest now in altcoins particularly whose value is almost zero as you can’t guarantee if they will get the chance to recover or just continue to be dead coins in the end. That’s the reason why I can’t risk my money with altcoins at the moment. However, I must say your friend OP must be very lucky that he never experienced that. Probably those were the times when altcoins are still profitable same with bitcoin, one thing that’s hard to be realized these days.
398  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is buying merit parmited on: July 04, 2023, 01:02:07 PM
This is unethical and should be discouraged merit was not created to monetize and make a profit it is given to users who has good contribution it is a way of appreciating a user, even begging or asking for merit is not allowed merit flow should be natural, you can only move up or level up your rank based on merits you've accumulated, if you buy merits to rank up you don't deserve your rank and you only buy your way up, its disgracing.

There's still so much for you to learn here I advise you to forget merit for now and learn about the rules and etiquette of this forum so you'll know how to act and communicate here.
Exactly. Don’t be pressured on getting merits as it will come to you easily when you’ve gained sufficient knowledge and experience on the threads given. Instead, motivate yourself to learn more about the various topics in the forum and stay patient and passionate on what you are doing, that will help you a lot to rank up your position especially when other members have seen your genuine intention to contribute in the forum. Otherwise, if you resort into making shortcuts and buy merits from other members, you are just deceiving yourself. Merits are earned through hardwork and determination, and not easily bought just to rank up and brag your high position.
399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are giving too much importance to exchanges on: July 03, 2023, 09:43:09 PM
If you are not interested in the exchange, you should not create this topic you should continue to hold your bitcoins. Everyone has the right to choose, you can't force everyone to follow your opinion.  i'm not a fan of centralized exchanges, but I don't hate them either, but to be fair, they're not as bad as you say.  they really have many utilities and benefits for us, I think without them, the crypto industry wouldn't be as strong as it is today.
We don’t need to hate centralized exchanges as without them, decentralized exchanges will never come to its existence. So let just people decide whether they’ll use the centralized or decentralized ones. After all it’s their coins they are going to spend. However, I only use centralized exchanges when trading but never when it comes to long term storage of my coins. That is to protect my coins from its sudden loss especially if they’re place on centralized exchanges.
400  Economy / Economics / Re: To Hodl or Lend: What is your take? on: July 03, 2023, 09:21:10 PM
Yes, they use either a centralized or decentralized platform to lend their bitcoin which would be repaid with interest. What is your honest take on bitcoin lending? Too risky, won't try it? Too risky, will give it a try?

If the person clearly understands what they are doing, understands and knows very well the risk factors they will face, they can consider lending their Bitcoin holdings as one way to increase their holdings, if they are not into this buy and sell scenario, trading activity or basically, don't want to ride the market volatility.

Of course, there's a risk that's why before considering, make it up to the point that we do realize everything from top to bottom.

If I have to answer it personally, I don't want to consider doing that. I won't jump into other things that I'm not really familiar with. It's better for me to focus instead on trading or doing regular DCAs if my budget can keep up with that.
Lending bitcoin is not actually a bad thing as it may even increase your bitcoin profits in the future, but you should know its risks as well especially that bitcoin do not guarantee price surge all the time due to its high volatility. However, though it’s a good way to increase one’s hodling, but I won’t try to put my bitcoin at risk so instead of trying some attempts of lending, why not grow it on your own account. You can still benefit from it and double your profits if you have patience for long term hodling.
