I said the thread should have been locked and filed under trash what almost a year ago?

Surprised it lasted this long.

No great loss just rehash all the same stuff in the service thread or wherever you want.

Personally I would prefer to read about the LEGAL side of things that XIAN posts and people discuss the rest of the "drama" somewhere else as it is extraneous. There really should be a new SCAM thread started and repository of all the ins and outs of the legal side posted there at this point and it belongs in Scams really. It have to be self-moderated to cull all the shit out as the Mods don't need that hassle.

Gleb should start his own BFL style thread and people wanting to indulge in his explorations of everything BFL can go there.

At this point in time BFL is done like dinner so the noise to signal was not really helpful to anyone other than those who were getting the inside jokes about "chickens" and what not.

Meh.

BFL were shitheads. We all get that now.

Why were certain things deleted? FEAR makes perfect sense if someone threatened legal action. We would not be privy to that information if it were a PM to a moderator or such. Not really an issue seems like all the dox info is back up in this thread right?

There are battles with inconsistency in Moderation all over these forums. Suffice to say the Mods have room for improvement on many fronts. The BFL fucked us over thread devolved into a scam thread that is clear. Should have been removed. I think there as a fear as well of the REACTION if it were moved.

Again Meh... start a new thread. Enjoy the FTC demolish BFL and see a few of these morons get jail time. Here is hoping the ratbastard who threatened / libeled me and doxxed XIAN gets time.
403  Other / Meta / Re: Deleted posts in the Hardware BFL Thread, Double Standards, and Hypocrisy on: April 14, 2015, 05:21:23 PM
Why is it that when a lawyer gets doxed and complains in a Butterfly Labs thread, all the offending posts identifying him are deleted, and bans are threatened, but when Butterfly Labs management doxes it's customers for complaining about their poor business practices, that information is allowed to stay up indefinitely.

When scammers are doxed, that information is allowed to stay.

Furthermore, try posting Theymos' dox and see what happens.

Why the hypocrisy and double standards ?

Either doxing everyone is OK, or doxing nobody is OK.

 Where is the consistency ?

Fear and Hypocrisy.

No one wants to get sued I guess.
404  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: April 14, 2015, 05:34:11 AM

The stickminers are stickminers.  There's a good reason not to try to build a whole farm out of them:  You have a power regulator and heat sink for each chip.  That makes the price per GH pretty bad- just look at any other stickminer.  However, it is still a fun project as a stickminer- and most of the design for a stickminer (besides just the PCB layout) was already done as we were working up our breakout board for the chips.

However, anyone that hacks stickminers into another form factor still gets mad props.  One of the coolest things about stickminers is that they are a great learning tool, especially if you don't have hundreds of dollars to spend.  Ours should continue the trend of being fun to experiment with as it will come with built-in voltage adjust via a potentiometer.

@ Novak:

Maybe something that could be built upon and given to schools for working on Bitcoin projects. Might be worth looking into as education based project worldwide to spread Bitcoin to schools. A Bitcoin for Schools Stickminer Kit would be something to promote.

You certainly could have our school willing to help promote this as stickminers kit since they are much easier to store and handle compared to the FPGA X6500 Rev 3's we were using in the past. Our kids mined Freicoin with the FPGA's for a few weeks off and on 2 years ago. They also all have cold wallets in Freicoin but are interested in Bitcoin as well.

---

You know we could have access to the 1100 Hammer Spondoolies chips if I can find / get funding and I might have a number of people interested in doing that with the Freicoin Alliance as they have funded a school project we had last year building a bake shop at school.

Project Idea

1. Students build a small package or kit including a stickminer you design / build for schools and sell them. (Kit have directions / lessons for teachers and students / manual etc.)
2. Students will seek loan funding from members of the Freicoin Alliance with potential matching funds from Freicoin Foundation via a formal proposal to purchase the chips / and parts and possibly.
3. Your team decides if it is viable what you are willing to contribute and what if any compensation you would require. (Depending on your needs / time etc)
4. Students sell kits and pay back loan to those from the Freicoin Alliance.

Very rough thoughts.

Please elaborate on which part of that multi-person rambling you're responding to, as well as the idea itself.

405  Other / Archival / Re: quickseller on: April 14, 2015, 05:19:00 AM
Just more evidence the right move here is to avoid this broker as you run the risk of this sort of foul treatment should things go sideways. Clearly he is not willing to resolve the issue with the OP and just come to an understanding and agree to disagree. Sometimes just walking away is the best course of action. Looks like the OP did the right thing.

Imagine going to a retail store and you asked to verify if they had an item and if it matched the description. you asked many questions if they had discounts if they offer insurance etc, Before buying but than you decide never mind you don't want it any more for what ever reason or maybe the reason was they offered insurance and when your at the check out the insurance price they quoted was different at the time of purchase.  And then the store manager  called you names and stated false information about you then kicked you out of the store for not buying item, when you were interested.

I agree fully with this.

I don't think Wohiper was trying to scam. Just wasn't 100% clear on everything. Not worth a negative trust rating imo.

Seems to me that people are on the ball regarding this failed sale.

It seems pretty universal in this thread (and I agree too) that backing out of a deal because you don't agree to everyone's terms is certainly not a breach of trust (no harm was done and no money/info was lost) and doesn't deserve negative feedback.
-snip-
If you bothered to read the entire thread, instead of just spamming your signature with shit posts, you w, ould see that the OP did have his conditions met. The issue is not that any money was lost, the issue is that he was trying to steal information (either that or he was hoping that I would not respond quickly and the seller would agree to not use escrow - and when I did respond quickly, he wanted to use some flimsy excuse not to use my escrow services with the hope that the seller would agree to trade without escrow).

Oh yah, you must be right here.  It has to be the case that I am an idiot and I didn't read and so is everyone else who disagrees with you.  You know you're dealing with a fragile ego when "you didn't read and I hate you" is the automatic reply to someone who disagrees with you.

Quote
You are an idiot. Your scenario could not be farther from what any party claims to have happened. You are clearly trying to distort facts because you are upset that I caught you trying to borrow more bitcoin then what you thought the collateral was worth

And look, another idiot!  Quickseller is surrounded by idiots.  What can he do?

(I know what I can do, 2nd time this hothead calls me an idiot this week, 5th time I've heard this guy calling other people he disagrees with idiots just recently---I just used the ignore button so that I don't have to read any more "constructive" replies from this guy who accuses everyone else of "spamming their signature".)

Good luck Quickseller, see ya in the funny papers.

Added this to my list.

It seems pretty universal in this thread (and I agree too) that backing out of a deal because you don't agree to everyone's terms is certainly not a breach of trust (no harm was done and no money/info was lost) and doesn't deserve negative feedback.  However, as others have also reminded us, the trust system is not moderated so really the only thing we can do in this situation is modify our trust lists accordingly:

Code:
~Quickseller

Sorry, worshipper, for your experience.  I certainly wouldn't have gone through with a deal if I didn't agree to all the terms.
406  Other / Archival / Re: quickseller on: April 13, 2015, 08:51:41 AM
Pretty shitty thing to do If you don't have an agreement.

I will be certain to avoid the user.

I don't want to bother with this much. Why not ask quickseller? He has all his messages, my terms were in the initial message to him. A message that was received by him and the other trader.

He replyied with some terms that didn't seem to be well optimised to our trade, I think that part of it was even copy pasted. He made thing overly complicated and in result angered me enough to cancel the deal before reaching an agreement with him as the escrower.
Quickseller is good guy. If you get that red trust he must have good reason. You dont wanna give proof this is ok. Bye and gl.

I don't doubtthat he's a good guy. I'm not even saying that he's a scammer. But don't I have the right to be unsatisfied with his service? People make mistakes, I felt that his service was unprofesional with my case and didn't want to use his services after getting angry.

He has the record of the messages, I invite him to post the first three messages that the three parties involved exchanged. Me, the trader and him. First message is me setting the terms. Second message is the trader confiming that he agrees while replying to both participants. Third message is quickseller giving us his custom terms.

I saw his terms, got angry and more angry after exchanging PMs with quickseller. Ultimately declined the deal.

He claims we reached an agreement, we didn't.

407  Other / Meta / Re: Staff Hypocrisy and Selective Enforcement of Rules on: April 09, 2015, 10:56:45 AM
(Speaking of hypocrisy, Tecshare has left at least three people negative feedback based on feelings alone.  Why is he complaining if he feels others do it?)

Indeed. This specific complaint gets banded about a lot but its pretty contradictory.

Two of those people left me negative trust ratings first because they did not like things I said on the forum. The one I left for Armis was because he refused to stop harassing me via my market place postings, not because of my "feelings". Theymos took the opportunity to twist it into some violation of the unwritten unspoken code of being on the default trust, and a violation of free speech, that warranted removal from the list over that one incident.

Yet here Vod is doing this over and over and it is acceptable. He has done this to multiple people, some times multiple times. Every time he pretends he learned his lesson, kisses Tomatocages ass, and he lets him continue abusing the system and doing it all over again like it never happened a month or two later if not sooner.

Yes the inconsistency in moderation is palatable in these forums.

I don't need money to skew the results... I'm not claiming this to be unbiased unlike others. Willing to change my mind given evidence unlike others.

Can you trust Dogie? No fricken way anyone should trust his lying fraudulent ass.

Dogie continues to "defend" his VAT fraud poorly by spamming this thread and the meta thread. At this point you really should avoid him, disassociate your company from him and never ever buy units from him as you run the risk of being caught out in him failing to provide a receipt indicating VAT. Classic way to cheat customers and the HMRC.

Dogie is a miner seller. Well within purview of this thread. Do not buy from Dogie.

Again I am formally asking the moderators  to act accordingly and ban Dogie for repeatedly spamming this thread. He has already questioned about this in the meta thread so x posting here is spam.

This is a public service to warn off purchasing from him or to rely on him for unbiased info on fabricators. This is simply a warning to forum goers like Martin, Georgio, Josh or others I have posted about in this moderated thread. If he wants to complain use the moderator complaint button or start his own thread.

Note that I am not going to be lured into a spam war I expect moderators to properly address his spam.  He is not welcome to post here as is the directive of the mods for moderated threads he must stop posting here.

I shall not repond to your nonsense about anything I do outside this forum, simply because I do not have to, suffice to say wherever I charge VAT I clearly display my VAT registration number. If you did not see any VAT registration number on my software site (thanks for the plug BTW), and did not see any charges for VAT in the cart, then what fraud are you accussing me of, even what law has been broken? If you go to my practice site, you'll find all the details you'd ever want there. And for the umpteenth time, this is not a thread about me, but you!.

You are right, I have NEVER asked you for an invoice (not even in this thread as you insinuate), and I have NEVER been interested in any of your invoices. But because I chose not to ask for an invoice does not mean relief for you from your legal obligations of providing an invoice.

You were accused of VAT fraud and YOU asked for substantiation. I did just that by asking you why you never sent me an invoice. You could have said I never asked for it and that would have been that, but because you have something to hide or all you do is not overboard, you chose to persue the lines of being threatened by me then of me not being VAT registered as the reason. What stopped you from telling the truth first time round? That fraud you are carrying out under the table.

Your ramblings about me accussing you of not being registered are again just diversions. Show the link where I said that, other than you suggesting it as a diversion. I told you I am an accountant, and I know for a fact that you can legally charge VAT without even being registered, so long as your turnover does not exceed a certain threshhold, so I could not have said that (and I don't even need to check back!) but being the nicompoop that you are even that basic fact that I provided you eluded you.

And my offer still stands, find and post any resource or link to it that says a buyer is required to provide their VAT registration number before a VAT invoice can be issued, and I'll post here my VAT registration number (even my practice website as a bonus!)

dogie is a VAT fraudster

Original accusation:

So now that you've brought it up again, exactly how does my supposed "VAT scam" work? What am I doing?

You should have let this lie like you did about taking your medication regularly.

You know pretty well that YOU have a VAT scam of sorts going on. I bought from you arig advertised with VAT and NEVER received a VAT receipt (despite telling you). Now if that is not VAT fraud (like other people have accused you of, even before I joined this forum), tell me what it is? It, of course, is another issue that I even gave you positive feedback, too early with hindsight as the rig only run for a few days as advertised then one of the modules died (I told you as much) ... but that is a story for another day!

I shall not go into responding to the flimsy accusations that you have labelled against me with in your negative trust (thats another joke, nothing at stake at all just his bruised ego counts for forum trust ..... what a joke!), but you've always asked for substantiated accusations, THERE IS ONE! You can add it to the accusations against me - dogie is a VAT fraudster.

On another note, for those that believe dogie is attacked for no reason, in his own words, you are his shill accounts! You can not imagine what storm rages in that idiot's head .... @bitchie dogie .... take your pills like the man in the white coat said, they'll help you!

EDIT I am pretty sure the twat will duck answering this (just like the true case of his medication), and will only post again after it is burried ....
411  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] B's A More Ethical & Trustworthy Miner Sellers Trustworthiness Guide on: April 07, 2015, 11:51:42 AM
It's not as if he "accidentally forgot" to provide the VAT invoice(s) either - he is actively refusing to provide them. Highly illegal.

Bad dogie.
The same situation with VAT in UK is minereu. They do not provide UK invoice, but maybe you can save some bucks...

Oh my... are they still selling units? Need to add them to the naughty list if that is the case. That is tax fraud if you do that in the UK to save some bucks. BE CAREFUL. Recommend you steer clear of that game.

Do they ship reliably?

Bad dogie.

Yes and I think more people should report that to the Report VAT fraud so others are not taken in by that scam again. I think we all know where this ends. Dogie is not to be trusted. Simple as that.
413  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] B's A More Ethical & Trustworthy Miner Sellers Trustworthiness Guide on: April 07, 2015, 11:17:39 AM
@ Dogie.

You are NOT welcome to post in my moderated thread and that was clearly indicated to everyone on February 11, 2015.

Stop harassing me and this thread.

Note to Mods: I have had to deleted the same post 7 times already he knows he is clearly not welcome in this thread.

And no you can't do it all day as you will be banned for posting in a moderated thread that asked you NOT to post. Ask Loshia and Marto all about that little game. This time I am just going to report it to the Moderators. Let us see if you can follow the rules.

I will be removing this post once he gets the message or a ban... I suspect it will be a ban given he has yet to stop. I reserve the right to reinstate this message if he bumps this thread by posting again.

===

He should be given a few days to cool off that is what happens when you don't follow the rules.
414  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] B's A More Ethical & Trustworthy Miner Sellers Trustworthiness Guide on: April 07, 2015, 09:45:31 AM
Can you trust Dogie? Me thinks not. Dogie was collecting VAT without providing receipts. Counter to the requirement of the UK.

This certainly puts in perspective what Dogie is willing to do to make a buck off the people in these forums. It goes without saying that this practice will certainly get him in hot water with the UK government and it should be a warning for anyone using his services or purchasing anything from him.

BE WARNED WHAT HE RECOMMENDS SHOULD NOT BE FULLY TRUSTED.

This thread is certified Dogie POOP free! I ask Moderators to make certain DOGIE doesn't post here. I have asked him not to again and again and is the main reason I had to make this thread MODERATED over a year ago.

Nope.

Quote
If you are a seller registered for VAT you must give a buyer who is registered for VAT a VAT invoice for any standard-rated or reduced-rated items sold

You truly are a piece of work! Your link (quite aside from being an archive from 2009, though the concepts are current) does not state that the buyer is required to provide their registration number, rather that a registered seller is required to issue a VAT invoice to a registered buyer, else:
A VAT registered supplier may be fined if they do not issue a VAT invoice when asked to do so by a VAT registered buyer.
I do not know what you fail to understand by the last part of that quoted sentence .... which is more than ample proof of your VAT fraud seeing the transaction was Nov 14 and up to now you have refused to issue the invoice (as of today) under the pretext of being threatened.

But it your link goes further and says:

When a VAT invoice must not be issued

You must not issue a VAT invoice in the following situations:

your customer uses self-billing arrangements or you use authenticated receipts
you make a gift of goods on which VAT is due
you are selling goods using the VAT margin scheme for second-hand goods
you are selling goods using the tour operators' VAT margin scheme

Where does my transaction fall in that? Revel in your ignorance while you will ....

But like I said umpteen times, you do not have to explain yourself to me, neither have I asked for an explanation. You wanted substantiation of the VAT fraud allegation, and I have done that.

well, in that case i look forward to avalon making a larger, affordable unit (something rackmountable and <4U in size) that is similarly quiet.

S3 noise is the ideal for me - tucked in the back corner of a stockroom it is audible but not overbearing

Pretty sure this is the last unit they will make.

They won't compete with the chips already being designed and the market has dried up for home miners.

The end game is now they were behind the curve on this chip they are falling further behind price and efficiency wise.

And again I could fill my 3rd floor with miners as the "boss" but why? They lose money Avalon 4.1s especially so. No one in their right mind is hooking these up except as hobby at this point.

Awesome post Prelude.

Thank you for your time and money spent to this point. Whether S4 users get anything from it or they don't, you have made this particular issue clear enough. You included the appropriate details so everyone can understand and no one can deny or question the facts. That is hard to do in a short summary, but you did it well.

Thanks. I really appreciated both of your posts on the subject, seems like most people aren't willing to speak out. People need to see that I'm not just a sole "angry person on the internet blowing something out of proportion lunatic complaining about these issues" so to speak..

I really don't mean to dig into BITMAIN, I want them to be better. It wouldn't take much to turn their company around. The hardware (let's ignore PSUs....) is alright. The effort to provide good customer support through agents like BitmainWarranty is good. You have to respect the fact that they mostly sell hardware from stock, often shipped earlier than promised. The only real issue is their software/firmware. People like smit could be contracted to help if they don't have the talent in house, or if they are unwilling to spend time and money on improving the hardware once it's out the door. I'm not going to accuse BITMAIN of outright lying to us through BitmainWarranty about the voltage lock-down since their internal communication seems really horrible. A case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand does? Who knows. What is clear, is the issue is out there now. I think (hope?) we've made enough noise for BITMAIN to notice and take action. Their reputation has taken a hit, but it is never too late to make things right.

They are trying and the puts them ahead of most of the failed companies that have come, scammed and gone. From my own dealings with them they are always open to finding new people that can help them out. Send a CV and see what happens. You just don't get Spondoolies like service unless you have the team in place and the communication to follow up with customers.

I wonder if every single poster in this thread using the terms Bitstan or Shitstain realize how much it hurts their message.

It makes you sound like a petulant child rather than someone with a credible issue.

+2

Oh and by the way, while I'm at it, same for those who attack dogie every time he opens his mouth.  Get a life, already.  If you don't have anything constructive to add to the discussion, your ad hominem insults are just hateful noise to everyone else who is here to learn and participate in bitcoin technology, not to watch people fling shit at one another.  If you don't like what he (or anyone else here) has to say, there is an "ignore" link to your left.  Please use it.

Sometimes I wish that the moderators would enforce the one simple rule of civilized behavior that we all should have learned as children: if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.  But alas, they are moderators, not baby sitters :-)

-dave

That goes double for Dogie when he stirs the f-ing pot right?

Get a grip. 99% of the problem is Dogie instigated. If he'd stop crapping in threads and bumping Avalon and Bitmain threads as well as complaining about Spondoolies there would be no issue. Get the facts straight.

Also it is clear that Bitmain would love to see do less of the ANTAGONIZING of customers and more actual support. Too late given what he has done to maintain in the past few months. He really really screwed the pooch and it doesn't surprise anyone including Bitmain that this has happened.
419  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Avalon4 with global shipping can be purchased here! on: April 06, 2015, 06:45:30 AM
Nice product, but very overpriced.
Shipping for one piece (ehash) 0,6BTC? It is aprox. 144USD (if BTC 240) !! And almost no discount for shipping if more pieces.
(Bitmain S5 - 55USD only and if more pieces under 30USD)

For that price does not make any sense to buy.

The premium price is for the quiet it provides.
This is a great product if you have an office space with free power .

Put an s-5 in your office and see what your boss thinks.

Many places have a need for a space heater even in the summer. Due to Air Conditioning  that is controlled by the landlord not the tenant.
My friend rents 20%  of the top floor of  a bank.  He pays 20% of the power bill  as he is a sublet to the main tenant .
He is underheated in the winter and over a/c in the summer.   Right now I have 2 s-3's in his office they have been running since July of 2014.
I will replace with these s-3's with my avalon 4.1's in late May.

So this is a perfect piece of equipment for his needs.

You are correct that is costs a lot it is not for a big farm

not a worthwhile premium. you can make the antminer S5 quieter with a $5-20 fan mod and a little underclocking. The S3 is the alternative, and very inexpensive.

I want 10TH of equipment today, and honestly neither avalon of bitmain are appealing options

What would it take BTC price wise to make it attractive klondike_bar? 500$? 600$

Given you are likely getting pre-mined equipment I don't see why anyone would want to buy this or any miner. Home mining is hobby time and that would be the only reason to own any equipment. To tinker and play with nothing more. I don't think anyone or there boss is going to let you plug in Avalon or Ants in your office cubical that is just dumb argument.
