441  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gambling is different from trading on: June 14, 2023, 08:47:11 PM
A trader who does not have a strategy is a gambler...
A trader who neglects their strategy and follow their instinct is a gambler..
A trader who trades even when the market is not in sync with their strategy is a gambler...
A trader who only understands the basics of trading and failed to keep up with research is a gambler..
A trader who does not have a plan have a threat of gambling...

The difference between a gambler and a trader lies within a very thin line. And there is no sitting on the fence if a trader does not fit into that thin line then they are obviously gamblers and there is no two ways about it.
You got it right. Those who trade without good basis and who are only trading without the mindset and skills of a trader will definitely end up as a gambler. Those who trade without analyzing the market whether if it’s good or suitable to trade may not a real trader but a gambler. And lastly those who trade without goals but only quick profiting is not a real trader but has a mindset of a gambler.
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto another form of gambling? on: June 14, 2023, 08:26:26 PM
I was kinda surprised when I read the news from Financial Times that the cross-section of the UK's MPs that seems to see it as needless to regulate cryptocurrency suggested that it should be viewed as "a form of gambling" and be regulated as such.

In simple words, it's not at all gambling. for (Bitcoin).

Bitcoin is a reliable asset, for the whole crypto market such as shitcoins I think I can't give a word on it that it's not gambling because you better know the risks of Shitcoin investments. Investment cant be considered as gambling if it's done after proper research on a reliable asset but blind entry can be considered as gambling as people most of the time take blind entry in the hype of a particular token without analyzing the fundamentals.

Suh moves are just based on luck so it is gambling but if you know the fundamentals of the market and you have analyzed the asset and its future potential it is not at all gambling.
The fact that crypto particularly bitcoin has its high potentials to make you profitable in the future simply means it’s not gambling. Because you never rely on luck to make it work but through research and development of your skills from your experiences in the crypto market. However, gambling no matter how you do research or prepare for it, it will never guarantee you to be profitable.
443  Economy / Economics / Re: how to overcome inflation for the community on: June 13, 2023, 09:49:38 PM
how to deal with inflation according to my community:

1. Save money
2. Prepare for an emergency
3. Looking for additional income
4. Consumption of domestic products
5. Start investing and saving

that is the way in my opinion to overcome inflation in society. then what do you think? Is this way possible to overcome inflation?
Inflation might be here for good I guess. It will continue to affect us no matter how we avoid it, but if we have some initiatives to reduce the risk of inflation, I think it will be a lot helpful for us. And you’re right on your list OP, that will help us not to be so much affected with inflation. But I think the most significant there is through investing in bitcoin. Bitcoin will never be influenced by inflation, so you can always take advantage of it regardless if its expensive price.
444  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the best board to focus on as a newbie in the forum? on: June 13, 2023, 09:25:26 PM
I'm beginning to understand the forum better by the day, but I'm still under a learning process, cause we learn everyday and I'm big on receiving advise from older members
I find it easier to post on gambling, economics, politics and several others, but I want to know which board to focus more on as a newbie, what's your say on this? I'm open to learning from your opinions.
It all depends on your own interest on which topics you can easily comprehend to. However, as a newbie, you should try to learn everything that are significant topics in the forum, even if some are not on your own interest. After all, each topic that is raised in the forum has something that we can gain from it, so we should just read and read until we understand them. But never put pressures in yourself, just take your time and enjoy while educating yourself.
445  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the most significant trading sacrifice you believe you have made? on: June 13, 2023, 08:58:21 PM
Maybe taking a loan when I was starting to trade, for me that’s quite a sacrifice since I’ve been paying it after I lose my trades. And good thing, my first loss served my motivation to improve my skills and develop working strategies when trading. So I’m not regretting at all taking a loan that time, but I will never take a loan anymore just to invest or trade, especially in this highly volatile market where winning in certain time is not fixed or guaranteed.
446  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take advantage of the price fall. on: June 13, 2023, 08:40:28 PM
Is been a hard knocked to everyone trading bitcoin this seasons especially investment, my friend was sore disappointed for the recent falling of price because he bought $1000 bitcoin but the truth is that we cannot foresees the future in today, this is not the first time the price is Reding down, we should take advantage of this time at least you can use a small to purchase high value bitcoin. I wish we've profound bitcoin price analyst here, many people really wants to know the cause of continues price deflected, if you've ideas please your comments will be very important here. We newbies this days fall victims a lot because of ignorance of cryptosystem. Let's talk as a family.
Bitcoin is highly volatile in the first place so we should expect that it’s price will never stay up nor low all the time as it’s price will always vary from time to time. So that when bitcoin price drops too low, we will never resort into panicking and decide to sell at a loss. And one thing too, we should only invest on an amount we can afford to lose, as any investment has its own time to lose, and not just consistently winning.
447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 09, 2023, 05:08:08 PM
Again, we might have to hate Teo Lopez and his father, the antics and everything. So I think this fight is going to sell, but I doubt that it can be close to like 200k PPV in the US. But I guess those numbers might be good for this 2 boxers, specially that Teo Lopez is fighting a non-American. And maybe the fans of Taylor is going to watch it from UK.

I forgot the link on the article that popped up on my social media account but it said that this fight can be watch live and for free on Top Rank's facebook account and youtube channel so with that i don't think that this Josh Taylor's defense of his belt will sell huge number on PPV or is this will be sold on PPV with Top Rank broadcasting this for free?

Oh is that so? maybe it is going to be on ESPN for sure as this is Top Rank and maybe that is why it is going to be free. Not sure how Top Rank is going to make money for this, but for sure the boxers would received their paycheck already from Top Rank himself and ESPN.

In any case, if it is for free then watch this fight whenever we can. Let's see if Teo Lopez can back up his trash talking, or Josh Taylor remains to be the top dog in this division and continue with the defense of his remaining belts at 140 lbs.

Well, as long that it is guaranteed then they can always claim it ahead of time just like what most boxers do. But anyway, that question also struck me because if they are showing this fight live through their Facebook account and YouTube channel, then how would they make some money out of this fight because for sure their PPV buys will be much lesser if that is really the case.

Anyway, found this article while I was browsing in google about their fight: Teofimo Lopez Sr Worried About Teo Being Robbed Against Josh Taylor
448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 09, 2023, 04:37:36 PM
Everybody knows this is the last chance for Heat. If they lose this one I believe the series will be over in Game 5.
When Jokić and Murray play this good Heat need to do something extraordinary both on defense and offense. Hopefully we'll watch a good game tonight.

I agree, the Nuggets will not wait until the next game anymore just to win the whole series because Game 5 will be on their homecourt at Denver, and it is the perfect place to enjoy their first championship trophy. The Heat did a good run until they faced the Nuggets and unfortunately, this will be the Heat's final and last chance as I don't think too that they can still win it back and force another game to extend the series.

It is 100% going to be easy to get visa if you have a ticket.

You have no idea about the US visa system. A few years back, my B1 visa was put on hold for 6 months, just because of some administrative formalities. And many of my friends have faced difficulties with different types of visa. If you are a citizen of some of the developed nations, then it is relatively easy for you to get your hands on a US visa. But if you are from countries such as India and Pakistan, then it takes a lot of background checks and additional verifications to get a visa approved. In short, having a valid ticket doesn't guarantee you a US visa.

I have some information about the visa system in America and I visited this country once a few years ago back in 2017 when I had my job offer. Compared to many other countries and especially the other countries I visited in my life, America got harder rules for their visa system. But still, they hosted another world cup before and people had no problem with the visa system, that's why I think the government of America will not make hard rules for the visitors during the world cup.
Yes, I also understand that visa rules in America are very strict and if you cannot meet the requirements or rules that have been set, then no foreigner will ever be allowed to enter America.
But what you say is true that America will not tighten visa regulations at the upcoming World Cup.
Some of these regulations will be simplified and in this way many football fans will be able to easily come there to watch their proud National Team compete.
After all, FIFA must also have coordinated with the American government to provide a little convenience for foreign nationals who will come to watch the World Cup event.

It's already safe to assume that America will show some slack when it comes to their application to have a foreigner visit their country in aim to watch the upcoming World Cup but let's also expect that before someone can enter their soil, these people have been meticulously studied and searched thoroughly because safety is still a concern especially in an event like this where lots of America's enemy will disguise themselves as a tourist but they are not there to watch but to create problems that could include the tourists.
450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 08, 2023, 08:05:12 PM
I'm also expecting the same thing because why would Inoue have a different routine and have a much intense program, I know Casimero is also a skillful boxer and not good to underestimate with, but Inoue will just be the same Inoue and nothing will change. On the other hand, I know Casimero will not be quiet about it and will likely bark here and there as that is his way to sell a fight and to mess his opponents in the head. Although, I know that his preparations will be much more intense because the pressure are more on his side because aside from he waited for this fight, he also knew that Inoue is not that easy to defeat and he will have to face a lot of struggle first before he can be the winner.

They really need to make that fight happen because that's one of the greatest fights in this era if ever happened because both are good fighters and He is exactly what Inoue wants because he loves to fight boxers that are not afraid to take his shot and will gonna clash against him in the middle of the ring. On the other hand, Casimero wanted to prove that he can take Inoue's punches because for him he is no monster and it will only take 1 fight to prove that but as we know, they don't seem interested in him and they keep dodging to not gonna make it happen.

In that case, John Riel Casimero should catch up real soon and have another fight this year so that he can earn a much higher seat after Naoya Inoue is finished with Stephen Fulton, considering that the Japanese monster is successful in his part. Either way, I think it's pretty much a win-win kind of a situation for Casimero as long as he stays active this year because time will come, Inoue will need a stronger opponent if he chose to stay in the division.
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: June 08, 2023, 06:34:13 PM
~snip~
They should understand and know that boxing industry is also a business industry which means that it is almost unavoidable that the sanctioning bodies and promoters will literally take advantage of the situation especially if they know that it will be a huge fight as that will mean a money in their pockets as well. Might be unfair to some, yes, but again, it is also a business.
^Definitely right and I agree.
People should understand and recognize that the boxing industry operates as a business. This means that sanctioning bodies and promoters often seize the opportunity to exploit situations, particularly when there is a highly anticipated fight that promises significant financial gain. While this may appear unfair to some, it is an inherent aspect of the business side of boxing. The financial success of these events translates to financial gains for those involved. Understanding this dynamic is very important to comprehending the decisions and actions taken by various stakeholders in the sport.

Well, they can try and get loud about the issue but it won't go anywhere because it is what it is. Every boxers have their own time to shine and it's up to them how will they take advantage of the limelight while they having the crowd's attention, and if people is not convinced about their skills and ability then there's nothing they can do about it.

People just cannot understand the fact that everyone can be a boxer but only few are born to be a champion and make a difference in the league/industry.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 08, 2023, 06:11:56 PM
Congratulations for the profit earned because the Denver players performed very impressively in the 3rd game, as predicted the 3rd game will return to the beginning where Denver was able to take this game very convincingly.
My betbuilder failed because I didn't expect that Jokic would appear even crazier by making 21 rebounds. Luckily, the live bet with Denver over 106.5 @ 1.87 was enough to attract profit for me.

Although it was a low-scoring game, it was impressive to see Denver dictate the tempo throughout. They had no trouble scoring in every quarter, and they surpassed the over 106.5 total points by scoring a total of 109 points. Their precision and dominance inside the paint played a significant role in securing the win. As for my profit, unfortunately, I had bet on the Heat, so it stands at "0".

Even though the Miami Heat tried to push and made a slight rally, the Denver Nuggets just got the right advantage which enabled to them to effectively shoot inside and outside the paint, and even made the right adjustment so that they can avoid what happened in Game 2. Now, they are tied as both team have won in each other's homecourt but in the real standing, the Nuggets have the upper hand for leading the series.

Anyone see this news?

The Phoenix Suns plan to waive veteran guard Chris Paul, according to a report from Bleacher Report/TNT’s Chris Haynes.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that a trade could also be on the table, along with potentially waving and re-signing the 12-time All-Star this offseason.

https://www.nba.com/news/chris-paul-free-agency-phoenix-suns

Ok, so after the firing of their coach, it seems the new owner is making a big chances on the player side as they waived CP3 already and obviously, wanted to clear some space so that they can get a new player. And if they trade him, might be interesting which team and what will be the trading package. Who knows, maybe he can play with Lebron? What's your thoughts?

I'd say that it is already time to let Chris Paul go because even if he can still play and help the team, it's still not enough because he's already prone to injury especially when it comes to playoffs.

Aside from choking in every intense games, his body cannot handle the weight anymore to play in an intensive games where strengths and continuous practice is a must. It's time for the younger generation to be in the light and unfortunately, I think it's already too late for him to win a chip.

Quote

Let's see about that because it seems to me that the Lakers got their own plan to improve their roster next season. Even the rumored Dallas trade will not be happen because the Lakers front office already said that they are not interested about the offer, unless the Mavericks are willing to let go Luka in exchange for Lebron.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 07, 2023, 09:13:12 PM

Casimero is a WBO Global super bantamweight title holder now, I think he can force a mandatory fight with Inoue when Inoue successfully defeats Fulton. I'm not so sure about this but its possible. If no one else is just willing to fight Inoue why not Casimero.

It is possible but I think the no.1 contender has more chance for the mandatory title defense unless the boxing council will give authority for the champion to pick his opponent.

To Inoue however Casimero is a nobody. I guess its one reason he wouldn't respond to a call after all they couldn't just decide on their own.

As far as I know in their bantamweight day, they had an unfulfilled schedule fight.  It was canceled due to pandemic and was never been rescheduled again.  I also don't think that Inoue looks at Casimer as nobody because Casimero had proven himself by holding the WBO belt before it was stripped from him.  The belt was stripped not won by Butler against him.  It (belt strip) maybe cost by carelessness of Casimero but we cannot deny the fact that Casimero was a WBO bantamweight champion while Inoue is holding the other belt.

We all know that Inoue is a very gentleman boxer , he doesn't mess with anyone and he doesn't look for any type of problem either , I think that maybe for that reason they Respect him, as far as I'm concerned I see Inoue as a genius boxer, where he knows how to use every detail of his technique to apply it to a particular boxer knowing that his study is quite strong , then this is reflected in his victories, now, if Casimero considers that he thinks of him that way , well , I think not He has been very good at it , if he must have a Little desire to fight with him , but due to his track record he knows that he cannot be Trusted.

Inoue earn that respect because he shows it inside the ring, he's a gentleman and he's not doing any trash he just fight inside the ring and showcase his talent, I know for sure that if ever that by chance he and Casimero will meet inside the ring he will just do his usual practices and trainings and he will showcase his talent and let his action speak for him. I mean, let his performance speak if how dedicated he is and how he wanted to keep winning a fight.

455  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What was your biggest fear with starting in crypto? on: June 07, 2023, 05:37:02 AM
The biggest fear when I started investing in crypto was losing money on the investment I made. I feel that the crypto investment that I did at first will not get any profit, because I only see short-term gains. When I made a long term Bitcoin crypto investment I felt that this profit was extraordinary. The fear that initially made me doubt, finally made me believe that crypto provides bigger profits. But the risks that will be experienced are also greater, so you have to be more vigilant with crypto investments.
Probably most of us have fear of losing our hard earned money because of how unsecured and volatile the investment is. That's the reason  why only few take the risk and brave enough to enter Bitcoin investment even if there's no assurance to be successful and profitable. But when you start experiencing its profits, there might be a change of mindset afterwards. Now, I realized that you won't gain anything if you never take some risks, so one should take some risk but do it with high caution. Invest at your own risk.
456  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: One or more trading strategies, which one do you prefer? on: June 07, 2023, 12:38:07 AM
(......)
What about you, what is your preference, and why?
I will stick to the strategy that gives me consistent profits, I will just master it and practice always.
Because I know that I will only need to master and be consistent on it and on the long run, I will be profitable.

But this is not easy, because you can't guarantee winnings always here but you will be able to gain lessons here, so take note always, identify your mistakes, and improve it over time.
Of course, we will only stick to what is working for us since it will arbitrage our positions in the market. However, mastering several strategies are not that easy that’s why we should only chose those best strategies that we can easily master and eventually apply in our trades. If we can have more than one strategy, that would be better since we can’t assure that a single strategy will certainly work all the time.
457  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice to a Friend on: June 06, 2023, 09:58:54 PM
"The advancement is so fast.  Can they just slow down" this is coming from a friend who is a noob and still trying to find his way around Bitcoin.

He already invested in Bitcoin some time ago and tries to dedicate at least 30minutes to 1hour to learn about Bitcoin after work. Recently when we met and we're discussing about his learnings and what new thing he has learned. He started to mention the latest advancement in the Bitcoin space from Bitcoin ordinals, BRC-20, etc. and how he gets confused trying to keep up. Because it is like as soon as he's trying to understand on concept another new one is springing up somewhere. I get his point. Most times, this can be really overwhelming. I think there is a fear of missing out here and being behind. What advice do you have to give to my friend who is trying to juggle getting grounded in the basics and keeping up with these latest update on Bitcoin?
Do not try to learn everything especially if you are a newbie. That will not help you at all. Instead, focus on what’s more important to learn because that will guide you to not to commit maximum mistakes and losses in the market. After all, once you have gained a lot of experiences in the market, that will help you to gain a lot of knowledge as well.
458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Also Girls Should Be learned About Bitcoin on: June 06, 2023, 09:43:32 PM
All is fair in bitcoin, so regardless of your gender, you are still capable to learn everything about bitcoin as long as you also have the will and interest to learn. Meanwhile, it’s nice to know OP that you are teaching your sister about bitcoin, at least both of you will have all the chances to be successful in the future. Just continue building the potentials of your sister, one day she’ll gain more experiences with bitcoin investment and just learn from all her mistakes and losses that will motivate her to improve herself.
459  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing Addiction. on: June 06, 2023, 09:16:09 PM
   -  Having an addiction does not mean that it is immediately bad, of course it is not. Because there is an addiction that is good and helps us. For example, you have an addiction to saving Bitcoin, so you will not allow yourself to not have it when the bull run comes, you will do all the opportunities to buy it from time to time. It just means that it will give us good results in the future.

I believe having an addition is immediately bad. Addictions are not good and I don’t know if any addiction that is good and actually helps us. Is there a thing like having an addiction to saving bitcoin? I don’t think that’s an addiction as you’ve either got the discipline for holding onto your savings judiciously or you don’t.
I haven’t seen nor heard a case of someone with an addiction of holding onto bitcoin without spending. There may very well be folks out there who do this.
Whatever the case, an addiction is never good as an addict is controlled by the addiction.
Everything that falls for addiction is not healthy anymore. Even in bitcoin investing, if you don’t know how to control and discipline yourself when it comes to your finances, you will not end up a successful one. The thing is bitcoin investment is never bad but if you invest without managing your risk and invest without caution, you will only invest at a loss rather than investing for good profits in the future.
460  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A good way to help our children. on: June 05, 2023, 09:56:00 PM
Our children will not be as lucky as we are, we have to help them to know about bitcoins on time so they can have some for themselves. We are lucky because we are of age to know and understand what bitcoin is at this time when the value of bitcoins is still expected to increase not like our children who have no idea and it may be too late for them to make any gain from bitcoin when they finally know about bitcoins if you leave them. A good gift any parent can give to their children for their future is to enlighten their children about bitcoins so they have some knowledge about it at an early age and buy some for the children even before they can begin to get for themselves. What do you think?
Good point OP. Instead of spoon feeding our kids and give them bitcoin directly, it’s best if we could educate them at first about bitcoin and how it works so that they will realize the essence of accumulating bitcoin while there are opportunities to do it. That way, they will be more motivated to exert more effort and hardwork because they know eventually that it could secure their future once they managed to maximize their bitcoin investment in their portfolio. It’s only a bonus if ever their parents will also gift them with bitcoin in the near future.
