521  Economy / Economics / Re: Learn to use DEBT in a proper way to create asset on: December 23, 2023, 08:56:13 AM
I doubt there's much good debt these days. All debts by me are always of interest that may be twice the debt taken out for the problem. Unless it is to push a business, I wouldn't advice anyone to start off any worthy idea with loans or being in debt at growing stages because when the time comes to repay the loans, it becomes a big issue on how to gather the funds to payback.

Still, there has been those who took out debts and made a risk investment that paid off big time and real estate is one of those kinds of investment as well as taking out a loan or being in debt while working at a job just to maintain a steady DCA strategy of investment that will pay off big time after some years. While the job covers some part of the loan or debt to be repaid, as well as bills that need monthly attention, the loan will ensure that one doesn't fail to keep up with the DCA holdings even if it is but a quarter fraction of the normal amount to be DCAd from ones salary or earnings.

What I noticed is that the majority of people who are in bad debt are the poor and the mid-level or the working class. Many of them will just borrow money when there's a chance without having a plan to start a business. I remember when I was a kid, my family took loans to buy televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, etc. The worst I observed is when someone borrows money with interest to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

I hadn't tried taking a loan in my whole life and then I realized that it's not really that bad when used to start a business or a venture that has a huge potential of earning profit. The majority of the rich are smart when it comes to their financial activities so they are mostly in good debts. These billionaires do not even have lots of cash. They are very good at managing and protecting their assets from inflation.

Meanwhile, Quinn is making fun of the NA region. The next time he talks he might include the SEA as well. Cheesy
He's right about NA, it's just dead at all, and don't have that much competition there. But talking about SEA? I don't think that he'll talk shit with that region. He knows how this region is one of the hardest, to be honest. But it's just that there are still fewer teams that are becoming better in this region. And we've got some roster changes with the Nigma Galaxy. All of the roster has been kicked except Kuroky who still remains with the team.

Well, he's one of the team co-founders but I guess that the other co-founders don't want to stay anymore with the team if there's not that much growth at all. Too many good players and young out there that can still be developed but it should be kuroky that must be out of the roster and remain as either a coach or analyst. That's how he can thrive on this esports but he has to accept that his prime days were long gone now and he needs to give way to better young talents on this one bringing the banner of the team. There were also a lot of pro players that have done this and accepted that they're no longer in their prime just like the boys from OG and Alliance and other teams as well.

They won't forever shine and that's the reason of why they are still in the pro scene but not as part of the roster but as part of the back end of the teams that are willing to coach their new young breeds.

I also think Kuroky should just coach or maybe manage the team. I guess he owns the team already. And if he owns it then maybe he can focus on expanding it like what Team Secret is doing, it has a team from a wide number of e-sport teams, from League of Legends and PUBG to mobile games like Wildrift.

And speaking about NA. I just found out that Tundra is already relocating to the region. That organization is rich so it can acquire players from other teams. The good thing is it could dominate the region and position itself for NA's single slot.
523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 23, 2023, 08:09:22 AM
^^ There could be barriers, but I think if this manager and boxers wanted to get a huge paycheck, they will have to work with each other. Sho is no longer there, so DAZN should make everyone comfortable now as they could be the only network that can broadcast good fight.

And this is why the criticism about boxing in the last 10 years or so that it is dead as the promoters and network affiliations are the ones killing it.

But if they wanted to make money, for sure there are some middle ground that they can do so that we can witnesses good fight that fans wanted, not like exhibition or cherry pick fights.

Bottom line, boxing politics sucks. They prevent us from watching boxers fight on their primes vs another championship caliber boxer.

As what i have read and understood, Haney and Ryan Garcia is in the negotiation table per both boxers, hope they were saying the truth. If materializes, Haney vs Garcia could be a blockbuster as needless to say that Garcia has a lot of followers, though winning against Haney is a slim possibility but the money will pour on this fight, that's for sure.

Ryan Garcia might not have any belts for now, but he could be one of the cash cow as well, like what numbers him and Davis put this year and it could have been the biggest fight as per money wise in 2023. So I do agree that if Haney and Ryan fight, it could be one of the biggest for next year. But let's just wait for the official announcement as there are lots of thing that can happen. Haney vs Tank has their own public war of words but it seems that it died down already. And then we have Lopez fight in February against Ortiz. One thing is for sure is that this division is getting the publicity now when the best 135 lbs move up to this division, except Tank. Really hard to comment on boxing politics, it really sucks and it deprived us boxing fans from watching prime boxers against each other.

Showtime is getting out of the sport next year. There were rumors that PBC is heading to DAZN joining Matchroom and GBP. But it didn't happen and PBC signed a partnership deal with Amazon Prime. So together with DAZN and ESPN, there are still 3 giant networks in this sport and it makes negotiations still more difficult especially when stars from different networks are planning to face each other.

Tank stopped responding to Haney's challenge. Tank also said no when Haney's promoter Eddie Hearn tried to reach out. But at least we still have 3 champions at 140 willing to fight each other.

Duncan Robinson exploded in the fourth quarter with 21 points against the Hawks.
Almost perfect scoring:
- Field Goals 6 of 7
- Free Throws 7 of 7

He may not be the top go-to guy in the Miami Heat roster but that's an elite scoring.

Great job for Herro once again and also for Jaquez Jr. who I think is one of the best rookie this season.

I only watched Miami a few times this season. They seem average but maybe this is normal during the regular season. But they have a nice win today even without Jimmy. Duncan was on fire in the 4th quarter and that prevented Miami from losing another home game. The Miami Heat failed to acquire another star for years now and that made Erik Spoelstra utilize what is only available and he became a master of developing players that aren't even in the top picks. Hopefully, they'll be able to make another surprise in the coming playoffs.

As for Atlanta, something's not working. They're dropping out of the top 10.

And with that, as champion, Matias has been in the radar now, and for sure next year there will be some sort of unification fight at 140 lbs as there are a lot of big names in this division, including Keyshawn Davis putting his name in the mix.

As per Haney, negotiation is ongoing for a fight with Ryan Garcia which coincides with what Ryan brags on his social media account. Haney is not keen on a unification fight, he wants a money fight which I think Ryan Garcia will give as the latter is famous online. Though on paper, Garcia will be the huge underdog here but with his newfound defensive strategy I think he can handle and may defeat Haney if those power bombs would land on Haney's body and chin.

Haney will just destroy the future of Ryan Garcia in boxing. If Ryan will agree on this fight, that means he believe in himself that he can beat Haney which I believe he only has 20% chance of winning, or even less. Of course, we never know the outcome, but I believe it's not right to be aggressive as his value is at stake here, if he losses, his value will drop and the kind of emotional effect that will leave on him, and knowing that he had gone through mental struggle in the past, that might result to ending his career early in boxing.

It's just really hard to imagine how Ryan Garcia or the version of his last fight can beat Haney. It will be a complete massacre. Ryan's previous awkward Phelly Shell only worked against a super slow blown-up lightweight but that will be an easy target for a very quick and strong opponent like Haney.

It will be good if Garcia vs Haney happen. But let's see if Dela Hoya will put Garcia right away with Haney. They just had to cherry pick Duarte to make Garcia great in his first fight in this division. I do agree though, money fight will be a fight with Garcia as we all know that already.

Haney has a lot of options, cement his legacy or go for big paycheck.

Teo Lopez is also waiting, that's also a great fight. Or even a Romero, to get his belt and unify.

I am still doubtful about Ryan's willingness to fight Haney. So I will only believe this when it's official. I believe this is the last fight for Ryan under GBP and obviously, he is not going to re-sign. So Oscar and BHop would love to promote a big fight and then seeing Ryan getting destroyed is a win for them as well. If this fight materialized I would be very curious about Ryan's team and who is at the top making advice. It could be Derrick James, his new coach. He or his team is probably paid by either Matchroom or GBP or even by Bill Haney for this suicide fight.

Haney is with Matchroom and most of the big names of the division are at Top Rank and a few at PBC so it will be hard on what's next for him. Prograis was the only other big name at Matchroom. GBP is with DAZN as well so a Ryan Garcia fight is much easier to make. The IBF champ Matias has the least fanbase of all champions so PBC could let him fight on any network. But lineal and WBO champ Teofimo and WBA champion Rolly will be hard to deal with since they are main-event fighters in their networks.
527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 22, 2023, 08:35:42 AM
I keep seeing all these social media posts saying that McGregor is going to fight in UFC 300. Is this official yet? I thought the news wasn’t released yet but I’m seeing a lot of Conor McGregor at UFC 300 posts… I hope we do get to see him fight sooner than later. He isn’t exactly getting any younger and seems to be switching his focus to politics.

Well, Dana White as always would love to see McGregor fight in the UFC once again. He's the biggest cash cow ever in MMA history so he will be welcome anytime. The only question is if McGregor still wants it. He's all just talk but he might not want to go into 2 to 3 months of high-level training. And he's too rich right now, there's no more hunger in him except maybe for a Khabib rematch. Cheesy

There's nothing final for UFC 300 yet. There's still plenty of time so it's also possible McGregor will be part of it. So far, the names mentioned by Dana are Sterling moving up to featherweight against Calvin Kattar, Jiri Prochazka against Aleksandar Rakic and Bo Nickal against Cody Brundage. Shame on Dana for depriving Aljamain of a rematch against O"Malley.

I voted Timberwolves in the poll. They got another win tonight against the Lakers.

The Wizards managed to get themselves a rare win tonight. Unfortunately the Pistons couldn’t follow them and instead dropped one to the Jazz who seemingly had half their team out for one reason or another.

Because LA lakers play without lebron james.and also timberwolves play at their own home which of course will be supported by a large audience of supporters.
And this season the LA lakers game has not been stable, they have lost a lot and until now they are only entrenched in 10th place in the western conference.

I voted for Boston but then later on I thought the Twolves could've gotten the first 20 wins after having the much easier opponents. The Celtics are just really a tough team to beat, but hopefully, this current line-up can also step up more during the playoffs.

The Lakers keep losing lately. Lebron might need to pressure the management once again to make moves before the trade deadline. They do not have enough future assets but the team is rich so maybe they can make possible acquisitions and trades like LaVine.

What a shame for the Detroit Pistons. Only 2 wins and has a 25-losing streak. They deserved a relegation if only the NBA allowed such a system.
529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 22, 2023, 07:55:02 AM
So while we are thinking that this is an easy fight for Inoue, his camp doesn't think that way.

From this article publish by philstar global, this is what Inoue has said during an interview.
https://www.philstar.com/sports/2023/12/21/2320508/inoue-admits-feeling-scared-tapales-showdown-nears
Quote
“What scares me the most is people around me think it will be an easy fight,” the soft-spoken pound-for-pound star said during a media workout the other day in Japan.

Inoue and his camp just recognizes the danger Tapales brings to that table that they admitted bringing in sparring partners from abroad who have differing styles so they would be ready for anything come fight night.

Inoue showed respet to the ability of his fellow champion, and that's the kind of attitude I like on a boxer as it will reflect on his work ethic. Now, with this humble words from him, it's hard not to think that he'll beat Tapales easily.

Japanese fighters are known for always being polite and respectful. Inoue isn't going to downplay or trash talk his opponent. Even if he won't admit it publicly, Inoue is well aware of his superior abilities. Tapales isn't a bad fighter by any means but Inoue is a generational talent and anything short of a dominant victory will be considered a disappointment. I am sure that Crawford beating him in becoming undisputed twice will motivate him to try and get a spectacular finish so that he can be considered the pound for pound king.

Indeed, Japanese in general aren't trash-talkers and are polite. Of the countless Japanese world champions in this sport, I can only remember one who is arrogant and that is the eldest of the Kameda brothers.

If Inoue schools Tapales and then knocks him out. Will he replace Crawford becomes again the pound-for-pound king? Tapales could be out of Spence's level although the guy is a 2 division champion. But it's a great achievement if Inoue wins, only the second to become a 2-division undisputed champion in the 4-belt era. And then by early next year, we have Oleksandr Usyk also trying to become a 2-division undisputed champion as well and also has a serious case to become the new pound-for-pound king.
530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: December 20, 2023, 12:08:33 PM
Rich people have a lot of money for initial capital to gamble, or you could say it's just a moment's entertainment, not only that, they also definitely understand how to win. Their way of playing is relaxed and they don't rush into thinking about making decisions when gambling. When compared to people who don't have a lot of money, they tend to have minimal capital or you could say reckless capital, to gamble and only rely on luck to win at gambling. Therefore, their mindset is very different when it comes to gambling. Maybe this is my response to what you are thinking here.

And playing in a more relaxed way has better chances of winning. They can think and strategize better compared to those who have small budgets, especially the poor who might even get nervous of losing their bet.

But sometimes people are quick to judge why the rich are spending thousands to millions of dollars in betting. They didn't even consider that those amounts could be minimal and the rich version of money they can afford to lose. Most of these rich bettors are financially successful which is why they are rich. And people that are good in the financial aspect have good self-discipline so they mostly know and are mature enough when they need to stop.
531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 20, 2023, 11:44:30 AM

BTW, we have the Warriors hosting the Celtics tomorrow, I'm guessing, Warriors will lose.  Grin

I don't have to think on what team to bet as I like the Celtics on this. The Warriors are in a win streak, back at home hosting the hottest team now in the East, so I would back on the better team there. The Warriors will now be tested if they can still win against a strong team despite missing Draymond Green, so I guess it's no brainer than the Celtics will win.

If you are betting, the spread now is -5.5 for the Cetlics, quite high on the road but this Celtics team is capable of bringing a double digit win.

I already have the Celtics at the handicap beat. Definitely with how the Celtics are blending, there chances to defeat are very high. While the Warriors is a good team with Curry, but they are build different now. I mean Klay still struggling and so is Andrew Wiggins, not sure why the Warriors are moving like this, maybe their age as really catching up with them.

...

-4 was the only spread I can think of because it's a home game for the Warriors although I am confident Boston will win. What a disappointing game for the Celtics. They blow a nearly 20-point lead. The 4th quarter and the OT was a game of experience and heart. Steph showed his greatness and is a hell of a clutch. As the commentators are saying, the Celtics should've driven the ball and made the tougher layups rather than just take shots from the outside. Tatum and Brown aren't the Splash brothers and they are better when using their strengths and physical advantages.
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk - February 2024 in Saudi Arabia on: December 20, 2023, 11:14:30 AM
AJ took the IBF from a champion. He only took 1 vacant belt which was the WBA. He then unified his 2 belts against the WBO champion and won. Wladimir and Fury didn't became undisputed since the WBC was held by Vitali and then Wilder.

But I agree that Usyk had an easier way of becoming a champion at heavyweight since he took the 3 belts from AJ and was awarded the vacant Ring belt in the rematch. Fury though he won against an old Wladimir but that old version is still better than prime AJ.

But all in all, I still give the tougher overall boxing career to Usyk. And he also achieved more. Won the Olympics gold. Won his first title in only his 10th fight. Became undisputed at cruiserweight. Two-division unified champion. And he won all his world titles in the enemy's backyard. He is a legend.

But Fury has the size advantage. Usyk is also the older guy and will need more energy and is more dependent of his reflexes.

Lost my bet on GG but my ML bet was successful making it still a profitable day. I am starting to play Mobile Legends again since I can no longer afford the longer playing time of DOTA 2. Grin
I congratulate you that in the end you turned out to be profitable. Maybe you will find time for Dota 2, because there is a lot of new things there now with a new patch, and tonight an update was released in which a lot of bugs were fixed and the game became better.

In general, it’s good that teams from the lower bracket can defeat those in the upper bracket, this adds great intrigue, unpredictability and sometimes entertainment to the games.

Thanks mate. My brother will be spending his holidays here and he plays more DOTA 2 than me even if he is also busy at school. He might try to convince me again to play with the new updates.

Generally, I am an underdog fan type so it's cool when things are shaken a bit, and then new teams and players try to topple those on top. It's just that I had a bet on GG. And it was really surprising knowing Azure was shut out in their upper bracket series and yet managed to bounce back in the finals.

534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 20, 2023, 10:05:55 AM
Haney vs Teo Lopez will be entertaining to watch I think as both boxers have contrasting styles, counter-puncher vs aggressor, hope they will make this fight happen while they are still in the peak of their careers.

But it's not going to happen for now as Teo is going to fight Jamaine Ortiz, as he is going up in weight at 140 lbs.

Quote
op Rank boss and Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum told BoxingScene.com in an interview on Monday that the main event will feature Teofimo Lopez Jr. looking to defend his WBO junior welterweight title against Jamaine Ortiz, and the co-main event will feature lightweight upstart Keyshawn Davis taking on former two-division titlist Jose Pedraza.

https://www.boxingscene.com/teofimo-lopez-jamaine-ortiz-keyshawn-davis-jose-pedraza-headline-super-bowl-week-show-las-vegas-on-feb-8--180118

Either way, if Lopez wins here, for sure he will target all the champions in this division next.

Most likely Top Rank just wanted him to get busy first and have some confident boosting win before going with the likes of Haney, Matias and Romero in the future.

I also heard the rumors but hoped it wouldn't go through. So it's official now that Teofimo fights Jamaine? Still a good fight but of course we want to see unifications. So it seems like the Matias negotiations aren't fruitful or maybe the unification plan is after this fight. Anyway, Teofimo's last fight was like 6 months ago and Matias is pretty sure he needs a month at least to rest and then another 2 to 3 months of training camp. So it's good that Teofimo is getting a fight before gunning for unifications in his next outing.

And it's good we can see Keyshawn Davis stepping up even if he only managed a draw in his last fight.
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Just a small simple question. on: December 19, 2023, 12:09:53 PM
It's simple mate, the rate of return once a new project becomes successful could be life-changing. Compared to projects that already exist in the market and are valued in billions to hundreds of millions. I am not really against it since all of us wanted to gain. But I just hope that these people know and understand clearly that their investments could end up being worthless in case the project fails to get support from communities and exchanges.

Of these new projects, meme coins are the worst to invest in. There are hundreds of meme coins created regularly and it is becoming slimmer to be lucky. There's more chance to hit a jackpot in a casino than profiting big from a meme coin.
536  Economy / Speculation / Re: High transaction fees affects those who DCA on: December 19, 2023, 11:49:26 AM
It is really hard, especially for those that are in a weekly DCA. What I plan right now is to just standby my funds in an exchange since I have plans to trade actively starting next year anyway.

But overall this is an issue that needs to be addressed. A lot of people wanted bitcoin to become a currency for our day-to-day transactions. I used to buy mobile loads using bitcoin. But at the current network fees, it is becoming impossible, especially on small amount transactions. And without a solution, altcoins will continue to flourish which I don't mind either as long as it is as secure as bitcoin.
537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: December 19, 2023, 11:23:36 AM
If the two of them win in their respective matches, then it is becoming more probable for them to face each other next. If that happens, I agree with your that Wilder would be the favorite. And I also think that Wilder might knockout Joshua.

That is the plan in the beginning, Wilder and Joshua having a tune up with low risk opponents, just to get that cobwebs out before this two fight at the undercard of Usyk vs Fury.

So far Parker 5:1 underdog against Wilder. Otto Wallin, almost 4:1 underdog. So that speaks that this is just a confidence boosting match.

The odds will be decided only after the fights because it also depends on how they perform. I believe both AJ and Wilder aren't as mentally stable as before. But in these fights, AJ is fighting the better opponent. The last time there were odds between these 2 popular heavyweights was when they were undefeated and AJ is always favored. Wallin is unbeaten since losing a decision to Fury a few years ago so he will be more confident of an upset while Parker at this current stage of his career is just too slow to threaten the unskillful but dynamite-fisted Wilder.

But I'll be more interested in seeing the world champions in this event, Dmitry Bivol and Jai Opetaia. Jai had confirmed that he will be helping Tyson Fury after his fight. The bad news is Jai also vacated his belt already because he prefers the life-changing offer in this event rather than face his mandatory.

540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rodriguez Vs Edwards IBF and IBO WORLD FLYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP DEC 16 2023 on: December 19, 2023, 10:41:05 AM
It's just unfortunate that fights like this in the lower weight categories are not generating enough attention this is the exact weight division where the great Pacquiao and up-and-coming great Inoue started and this is also the division where one of the greatest Mexican fighters reigns  Ricardo "El Finito" López, great prospects in the Bantamweight and Superwelterweight started here Bam Rodriguez should stay in the division or if Edwards ask for a rematch he should go for it after Inoue he is the next big star in the lower weight division.
True, just really sad to see that the lower weight class is not generation enough buzz even in the last 20 years. If not for the likes of Inoue at bantamweight, then we will not be interested at 112, 115 and 118.

But at least for now, we have a great fight in the future, Bam wants Juan Francisco Estrada.

That will be a banger fight, and hopefully we will see this next year. Although Rodriguez can also target a unification fight with the other champion here at the Flyweight division. Artem Dalakian and Julio Cesar Martinez, either fight will be solid. But if he can't make the weight at 112 lbs anymore, then it's time for him to move up to Jr. Bantamweight.

Maybe it's something traditional in this sport that there are just weights that are more popular than the others. The featherweight, welterweight, middleweight, and then heavyweight divisions are usually preferred.

The lower divisions are mostly popular in the Latin American and Asian countries. Inoue started at light flyweight and became champion. The great Finito spent almost all his career in the lowest-weight division and then moved up only to another weight in his last few fights. I love the old days more than today since in a single event there can be multiple world title fights. Nowadays it is more popularity and many undercards aren't given importance because the marketing and hyping is focused on the main event.

Cholatito and El Gallo are already in the sunset of their careers and only Bam can restore it. Bam has a huge following in his native Texas. The big problem though is its boxing commission is the most corrupt in the US which is why well-managed fighters and the other champions will have their doubts fighting there.
