It's unfortunate that there is no coverage for the tune-up game between Gilas and Ivory Coast as it is a closed door event, the don't want scout to know their system hehe.
Are there betting odds for this particular game? It's understandable if they won't be showing the game live, but having betting odds available would be helpful as we can still check the outcome. Maybe the box score would be sufficient. I'm not sure if this is the rule for all tune-up games or just for this specific one. If I'm not mistaken, I believe there were some tune-up games that were broadcast live. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, there are odds in my favorite crypto bookies and at the moment the Gilas squad is ahead by a slim margin of six point, this only shows that Gilas is no push-over team anymore.

Thank you for sharing the live odds, kabayan. I am currently monitoring them, and I'm happy to see that the Philippines seems to be winning this game. We are already in the 4th quarter, and the score is 74-58 in favor of Gilas. I would like to extend my congratulations in advance to you, kabayan, if you were able to bet on this game.

643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the largest meme coin ever? on: August 18, 2023, 03:00:48 AM
Generally i don't invest memecoin as those are sounds like bullshit, always remain possibility to dump overnight with only one bad news. Memecoins you mentioned, some are still okey and some are highly risky. I avoid doge cause i heard doge team already sold their shares. Only elon shield doge and he can sell anytime. Pepe is still new. Rest of those are bullshit. So among those memecoin, shiba seems good. Might be efficient in long term with its strong community support. Building up its partnership with so many organisations which would make it go higher with time
Well, it depends on the risk appetite that we have because some people never think about the future but just today and so they invest meme coins and joined the hype ignoring what the other people had say. This is not to wonder why many people had been disappointed and are in regrets from investing blindly without doing any research.
Meme coins are still having their momentum now but based on the background of these projects it is very uncertain if they will stay long because most hyped projects just vanished after it.
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A check on your wallet on daily basis can earn you some dollar on: August 17, 2023, 09:42:38 PM

CONCLUSION
It's a good deal for one to check his/her wallet at least once in a day. This will help you to control the funds in your wallet. Old token may do good within minute, one can take such advantage to make good cash out of such forgotten token.
Recently, I'd checked my wallet but no miracle happen still, it was loaded with shitcoins. So I don't have to believe that checking every day would give you some money as it never happen to me. But despite this thing still, I'm going to check it from time to time watching any of my shitcoins that have been so many years been there to at least show some changes because we know that many impossible things happen when the bull season so coming and even shitcoin could show something unusual movement. Who knows right because I have that experience in the last 2017 Bullrun.

It seems that Oscar wanted to go to legal actions here:

Quote
The Hall of Fame former six-division titlist is prepared to take legal action to protect the rights of England’s Ohara Davies, the top-rated WBA junior welterweight contender who Golden Boy Promotions signed earlier this spring. Davies was named mandatory challenger to current titlist Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, for which a purse bid hearing was indefinitely postponed as the sanctioning body will review medical documents provided on July 21 by Romero’s team.

https://www.boxingscene.com/de-la-hoya-demands-answers-threatens-legal-action-enforce-romero-davies-wba-mandatory-title-fight--177011

He wanted to have his bod, Ohara Davies to fight current WBA 140 lbs champion in Rolly Romero. But it seems there is a delay from the governing body to issue a mandatory fight and Oscar is eager for the WBA to give it to them. It was ordered already that a fight is to be made and maybe this is the contention of Oscar that's why he goes on legal actions to forced WBA to commit to it.

He has the right, and I believe he knows himself well enough to expect a victory in this battle. Furthermore, there's money at stake in this championship fight. Not only that, if his fighter defeats Rolly, it will open up even bigger opportunities for them to maximize their earnings. So, if I understand it correctly, there's a delay in the fight; it's not completely canceled yet. Oscar's camp simply wants to ensure that the fight will happen by setting a specific date.

For a businessman like him, waiting for nothing is just a wasted opportunity, so he wants to enforce what is due to happen.
646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 17, 2023, 01:15:31 PM
It's sad to read news about so many players missing tournament - either because of injuries or they simply decided to get rest this summer. Last victim of injury is Kristaps Porzingis from Latvia. Seems that general level of competition will be lower than in China back in 2019.

I already expect these news about Kristaps 2 weeks ago.
Latvia scheduled plenty of test matches and while promoting it fro ticket sales about 3 weeks ago they wrote people would see all the NBA and Euroleague stars, yet Porzingis didn't show in any of those games.

As this is the deciding time to get your team ready this can only be something bad, and now it's confirmed.

Another prominent loss, and with Jamal Murray gone another one. Name wise this world cup seems not so big this time unfortunately. Still, let's hop for some nice games and bigger upsets maybe.

We were discussing how Canada had a good chance of winning due to Murray. However, now that he has been declared out, this will boost the chance of the USA to win the tournament. It's not good news for Canada, to be honest. Despite this, I still wouldn't bet on the USA. Instead, I would consider other teams that might have a chance to pull off an upset.

What is your opinion on the Dominican Republic's chances? I'm considering placing a bet on this team.
647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong way to accumulate. on: August 17, 2023, 12:26:47 PM
I think the basic thing there is that everyone must not follow the sequence how others should be, and for any investment the investor should know the risk associated with it and be able to manage it properly. Over sometime people do not look at the risk but rather centered their efforts on the profits aspect which actually makes them not to for long time, understanding the purpose of investment always helps in securing and safeguarding their investment without being haste to sell.

About the cushion, well as I think is another way to help your investment not to be altered since it's serving as a reserved fund. And however, anyone who doesn't invest through his income or basic income where then do they get their money to invest or to keep accumulation of their bitcoin, Yes I know and it's a valuable asset that doesn't need to be altered but sincerely speaking you need something reserved fund or cushion to help you allow your investment last longer than expected as the case maybe.
Not looking at the risk but looking at the profit possibility is the number one mistake any rookie could make. You have to realize that you are not going to end up making that type of profit, there is no need for that and you should be careful with what you are doing. If you are careful about it then we are going to end up with something much better in the end as well.

However, this isn't really anything that would be profitable neither, and I believe that we need to be considering the situation that would be profitable if you are taking a bigger risk than you should. Take as little risk as you possibly could on the biggest profit you could make with that little risk. Take a look at risk first, then take a look at profit possibility.
People had overthink about Bitcoin as they think that investing in here will guarantee huge profits but not knowing the huge risk that they are going to face after buying. Too late to realize but I believe this particular saying - learn from our mistakes. Though we don't want to commit mistakes but whether we like it or not, this really gonna happen to all of us.
I'd say that investing in Bitcoin is not wrong what it makes difficult to earn is due to the actions and the market responses that we made - usually we fall into wrong decisions that causes major losses and fail our goal.
648  Economy / Speculation / Re: Volatility and its effect on: August 16, 2023, 09:38:00 PM
As we have seen all week long and a bit more than that, the price goes close to 30k and then close to 29k and then close to 30k and the.. well that continues like that non-stop. The volatility is there but the amount is very little and that is what I want to talk about, its not that much all the time. Volatility does happen time to time but it doesn't happen all the time, we just end up with bigger volatility during bear and bull runs. However, when we are not on a bear or bull run, we do not end up with any of that, price gets stuck and keeps on being the same price again and again. This is why there is no need to worry about the situation and feel a lot more comfortable about it.
Generally, there is not this much stability in the market because the market is either in the bear run or the bull run, which means it is either going down or going up, this thing only happens once in a while when the market gets totally stagnant as it has become right now. However, it is obviously nothing to worry about, those who want to buy or those who want to sell both should have some patience and keep holding their assets until the market moves.

The current market is not bad for buyers though because it isn't that high, and as the bull run is expected to occur next year, if the price starts going up from this point, this might be the bottom for the current market until the next cycles come when the market enters the bear run once again.
The market is like a roller coaster it will be going up and down. But we should never have to think that every drop is a bad thing in crypto instead, we consider this as an opportunity to accumulate more. As we usually heard when there is a market crash, many people got panic and sold their coins but not knowing that some people had take this advantage of buying them cheap coins which could give them a huge profit once it pumps back.
Well, as usual, not all will understand and see the opportunity in every market situation because what we had focused on is today but we're not looking at the future outcome.
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Chase to control the market! on: August 16, 2023, 04:29:29 PM
I have been in crypto for more than 5 years and i have seen a lot of incidents within the industry. There was a time when government and even a lot of people call Bitcoin a scam or a scammer currency. Many thought that only hacker scammers use Bitcoin for money laundering, drug dealing etc. But now the situation has changed and it's good to see how institution chasing each other to not be late to join the industry. The situation is so intense that now what matter most is who will control the market. In the current situation, it seems, no one wants to be the last one to jump over space.
Bitcoin was indirectly called a scammer currency but only to those who are blind with the reality about bitcoin, and whatever the government talks about bitcoin, they eventually supported it even without intensive research. But now, everything has changed. Bitcoin is now starting to surpass the expectations about fiat, that’s why a lot of financial institutions are now favoring bitcoin and start to invest in it for future potential profits.

By the way, always know that bitcoin remained decentralized up to these days and it’s obvious that no other group or entities can control its market. As long as it’s not centralized, then the government will never gain the full access on it.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 16, 2023, 01:53:42 PM
The question right now is, is there any team that wants him?
Who wouldn't choose a player who has averaged a double-double for the past 2 seasons with the Nets? I'm confident that James Harden wouldn't challenge the management's decisions if he didn't believe that some teams would agree to the trade. He recognizes his value to a team, and any team he joins is likely to improve. The logic is straightforward: if a successful trade involving Ben Simmons occurred, it would be unwise to assume that James Harden won't also be traded.
651  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Trading becomes Unfavourable on: August 16, 2023, 11:07:20 AM
Starting a business must face many challenges. Trading should be done mainly with experience only then it is possible to profit but many times it is seen that traders fail their opponents and lose half. You need to gain good experience when you start trading otherwise you will be emotional when you face losses.  In that case you have to start trading with risk because many times you may face huge losses but also many times you may profit. You need to know the important things about trending so that you don't face losses and know which coins you can trade in to profit. If you invest in some elat coins which are not trusted then you will definitely risk your money and may face losses. But if you start trading with Bitcoin then you will have less risk of loss and will be able to profit in future without having to face losses. And you must take advice from all investors to learn more details about trading and gain experience only then you can move forward.
We can learn more things from trading through experience but with that, losses will accompany us as well. As we begin trading, it should not be the profit that we have to think about first but instead, focusing on learning first and considering all the mistakes and losses will help us more. We can say that nobody becomes successful in trading without suffering losses and it comes with patience. And if we think it was easy, I don't think we are able to reach our goal and become successful but possibly will fail.
652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I see it, I feel it, I know it and it will live forever. on: August 15, 2023, 01:59:00 PM
snipped..
I believe that you are more concern about your neighbors not earning from anything because they don't trust bitcoin that's why you are trying teach them a lesson for what they are missing and yeah that is good of you.
Hope that they will find this in their heart like what we did in the past years when at first we also denied trusting this currency but now we are the number one supporters.
Hopefully, they will appreciate it because it was seldom that there is a person who loves to spend their time helping others. Indeed, everyone deserved to be thought and I was willing to do as well if that person had also shown interest.

Many people stay far from getting to know about Bitcoin because of negative news that they have heard. And this would change once they gain education from experienced crypto investors which would help them open their minds and then be able to see the positive benefits, not just the negative stuff.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 15, 2023, 01:47:12 PM

Nice odds, though. I wouldn't hesitate to bet on the Philippines to win, as they are on their home court and will surely receive significant support from the crowd. The basis for those betting odds was probably their current standing, but in an event like this, home court advantage is a big advantage, so I'm all in with that.

Also, I'm thinking of betting on the spread too. It's currently +9.5, and I believe the home team is undervalued here.

I think those odds are pretty accurate and on point. I would wonder if it will be a game around the 10 point gap, the odds makers did a good job there.
Having KAT helps the Dominicans of course, only thing speaking for PH here is the home court advantage and a basketball love crowd that will cheer for them.

Unfortunately excitement doesn't beat talent so it a steep mountain to climb if they want to win. Everything is possible but they must have a very good day to beat even a just ok Dominican team.

I did further research after my previous post and discovered that the Dominican Republic is a stronger team this year. Not only will they have KAT, but they also have Al Horford as another big man. In addition, Chris Duarte, who is an NBA player, is part of the team.

Here's another interesting story: it's the Dominican Republic that prevented Argentina from qualifying for the FIBA World Cup.

Argentina men’s basketball team fails to qualify for FIBA World Cup

Quote
Argentina, the world’s fourth-ranked men’s basketball nation, failed to qualify for this summer’s 32-team FIBA World Cup and will miss the quadrennial world championship for the first time since 1982.

Argentina, runner-up to Spain at the last worlds in 2019, was eliminated with a home loss to the Dominican Republic in its 12th and final game of North and South American qualifying on Sunday.

654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 15, 2023, 01:00:32 PM
A good center would certainly be a big help for the team. KAT is not only a good center, but he is also one of the NBA superstars, so I'm sure he will be able to use his size to dominate the paint. The Philippines has a big player in Kai Sotto, with a height of 7'2", but he is not at an NBA caliber level yet. He is still young and in the developmental stage. Therefore, KAT could really dominate if he wants to.

This event is significant for the Philippines. With a team that lacks NBA-caliber players, they will need the support of the crowd. I'm pretty sure we will witness a sold-out crowd.

Dominican Republic is the team that the Philippines has a high percentage of winning but with the addition of Karl Anthony Towns, that possibility turn to very slim. Kai Sotto may contain him for a little while but with his experience in the NBA, KAT would wreck havoc in the paint and event on the perimeter sometime into the game so I'm not expecting anymore that Gilas chalked up a win in group A.

That's the reality: the Philippines' chances are very low compared to the talent of the Dominican Republic; they certainly seem to be the better team. I found some betting odds for the game, but I'm not sure if they're correct. The odds are as follows:

Dominican Republic - 1.2
vs.
Philippines - 4.75

You can check out more details at the provided link: https://www.sportytrader.com/en/odds/dominican-republic-philippines-6258136/

655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you find new meme coins early? on: August 14, 2023, 01:40:29 AM
You can actually find it in telegram, there are a lot of TG group that announces new updates but you must have to be aware also that TG group can't be trusted. It can be a source of information or even on Twitter but must take extra caution because of many scammers that are waiting for you.
For me, it was not necessary for us to know meme coins early or any projects but what is important is that we have to know if that project is legit, not a scam.
656  Economy / Speculation / Re: The time has finally come...??? on: August 13, 2023, 12:37:59 PM
This is exactly what everyone who wants to get tangible profits in an investment in crypto should do. Watching the market price cap and waiting for the price to dip before you buy is definitely the wrong approach to securing lots of coins and in advance good profits in the future. Bitcoin price has shifted a little from last year 16k to 30k $  but still doesn't stops us from buying it now because we are all aware of the price it might reach in the coming years so actually buying now is definitely the right time.
Well, people are buying and keep doing this because we trust and believe that someday the price of Bitcoin went high during Bullrun. I would expect all of us to be in that mindset, buying low and holding until the bull season. Unfortunately, we can't please impatient people to think like that, some are still in doubt and uncertain about the future of Bitcoin a reason why, instead of buying it today they had to wait to see the price of Bitcoin rise first before investing.
657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 11, 2023, 02:54:33 PM
Am I right that the most favorite teams on the FIBA are Canada, USA and Australia? I didn’t check the odds on sportsbook but looking on the roster of FIBA country participants shows that they are the country that have the most NBA players on their team especially Canada that is full pack with current best scorer like Murray and Shai.

I think Canada has a chance to demolish US because there's no veteran player that will lead them on the floor.
You can check the first page. I posted the odds of each team and the numbers are from Stake.com.
Yes, Australia is in the 4th favorite to win this FIBA World Cup. They are to Slovenia where Luka Doncic is.

In groups, Australia is also the favorite to win Group E, which is kind of amazing because in that group are Germany and Finland who shocked most of the basketball fans in the EuroBasket. Finland especially, big change with Lauri Markkanen on their roster.

Back to the Australia Basketball team. Here is their roster.
https://twitter.com/FIBAWC/status/1655364143585849344?s=20

Josh Giddey. I have been following this young player in the NBA. A star in the making too and I bet he will be a big impact for the Australian team.

With tons of NBA players on the team, it's no wonder they are one of the favorites to win the FIBA World Cup. What I appreciate about Team Australia is their pesky defense; they do not give their opponents easy baskets. They love to challenge them on the court, so betting on them with attractive odds seems reasonable.

Although Team USA has been favored to win, in my opinion, this tournament is highly unpredictable.

Patty Mills and Joe Ingles are deadly 3 point shooters, I hope they'll have a great performance.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Rodriguez vs Lopez - vacant IBF bantamweight (Aug. 13) on: August 11, 2023, 01:36:38 PM
Hopefully though, whoever wins this fight, will give a crack at Gaballo first before going in another unification fight with other champion.

Yeah I hope so and it is interesting to note that Rodriguez lost to Gaballo via split decision in the year 2020 so maybe the promoter avoid Gaballo as the latter has his numbers the last time around.

Lopez is on a winning streak so i think throwing a few dollars to back him is worthy enough because of that attractive odds.
The odds are actually attractive, but judging from Lopez's previous fights, it doesn't seem to impress me. He hasn't had many championship fights compared to Rodriguez, who has been in numerous championship bouts. Rodriguez has only suffered losses to Inoue and Gaballo, but his most recent loss was controversial.

Hopefully, we can see Gaballo winning this IBF belt very soon.

That will settle their unfinished business if Rodriguez wins, and Gaballo will go for a unification fight.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: August 11, 2023, 01:06:08 PM
I watched some of the fight and then watched the highlights of the fights the next day.  I am once again annoyed that someone didn't know the f out of Jake Paul ( I would prefer him and his douche of a brother both get knocked out every fight they take), but of course he wasn't fighting a boxer per usual.

When are these dudes going to fight legitimate pro boxers their own age??

Jake Paul has already fought a good boxer, Tommy Fury, and in fact, that's where his only loss came from. Tommy Fury is 24 years old, while Jake Paul is 26. He probably realized that he can't beat a legitimate boxer, so he chose an old and retired UFC fighter. At the end of the day, all he cares is he can win and make a good amount of money at the same time. That's how smart he is.

Agreed, Jake Paul is an influencer/content creator that use boxing as his main content. It’s obvious that he will cherry pick opponents to make his career attractive to his viewers. He is not a professional boxer per se and it's actually impressive that someone like that is not a pro is fighting professional athletes on physical sports.

His fights is actually good for content and people not satisfied because most of his fight is not from pro boxer on prime is missing the fact that he is a content creator not a pro. Jake Paul doing a great job for his career.

Despite his losses to Tommy Fury, Jake Paul's boxing career is still at its peak. The fans do not stop supporting him despite no longer being undefeated. With this big win against a popular UFC fighter, it will continue to propel him into stardom, and more money will come in as he schedules more fights.

Personally, I don't think there's an older UFC fighter who could defeat him in boxing, even McGregor.

See nothing bad in such medical suspensions. That is made to prevent fighters from taking another fight earlier or go back to training. For example in UFC, when a person is knocked out or the fighter is unconsciousness after a submission, then he is suspended for 6 months. That is all made for protection. Even for regular people doctors suggest not to do any sport for a week after recovery from illness  Grin

Thanks for providing a clear explanation on that. I had no idea what it was; I thought it was a bad thing or a punishment for violating the rules. However, it turns out it's just a precaution.
660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin best option to invest on: August 10, 2023, 12:46:45 PM
Bitcoin is the best investment in crypto but people don't just keep Bitcoin alone, they also have invested in some altcoins. And I certainly agree that idea knowing that even though Bitcoin is known for its profitability and less risky investment but considering investing more will generate more profit, despite the risk people still choose to do it.

I followed this investment ratio since before,
60% - for Bitcoin
40% - for altcoins
