661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 30, 2023, 01:38:01 PM
Impressive overall team performance by the Clippers' starters as they beat the Kings convincingly. Kahwi's 34 points with 66.7% shooting is efficient and that also comes with zero turnover. Harden's 26 points with 62.5% shooting is great as well but what impressed me more is his 5 steals in the game. He's like a different player seeing him intercept passes.
One of the reasons why the Kings lost to the Clippers is that before the match they already played really well against the Warriors (made comeback) and the Kings became tired battling the Clippers. Sabonis only played 4 minutes in the 4th quarter. By that time, the Clippers were already leading and things got worse when Sabonis joined the floor in the 4th quarter. You can see that they are really tired but at least Kings trying to comeback again but they can't.
I get what you're saying but not really an excuse for their loss since every team has their back to back games. If we're also going to use that argument then why Fox still had a monster game and he was pretty efficient too? I think Zubac did really good at controlling the inside even blocking Sabonis a couple of times.
We can always come up with an excuses if we think of it. A win by the Clippers here is considered a big win, they deserve the credit for their good game as they bounce back from a bad performance against a jokic-less Nuggets. Honestly, I thought the Clippers are not anymore into a high scoring game but this game they scored 131 points which is way high compared to their average, and if we review the stats, the big 3 (less westbrook) have been playing well, add Mann also who's been consistent so far.
662  Local / Pamilihan / Bitcoin Mixers industry illegal na ba talaga? on: November 30, 2023, 12:22:30 PM
Just saw this news about one of the mixers being promoted in the forum getting siezed by the FEDS!

Feds seize Sinbad crypto mixer allegedly used by North Korean hackers

Quote
As part of an international law enforcement investigation, the FBI and the Dutch Financial Intelligence and Investigation Service have seized the websites of a crypto mixer that was allegedly used by North Korean hackers and several cybercriminals to launder stolen funds and obfuscate transactions.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the government’s department that administers and enforces sanctions against foreign people and organizations, announced that it had sanctioned Sinbad, a Bitcoin mixer that “serves as a key money-laundering tool” for the Lazarus Group, a prolific hacking group widely believed to be working for the North Korean government.

OFAC said in a statement that the Sinbad crypto mixer processed “millions of dollars’ worth of virtual currency from Lazarus Group heists,” including part of the proceeds from the massive 2022 hacks of Horizon Bridge and Axie Infinity, which resulted in $100 million and $625 million, respectively.

Hindi lang ito ang unang mixers na na seize pero kung merong na close, meron namang bagong mag ooperate, parang recycle lang talaga ang nangyayari. Kinatatakutan ko is baka balang araw wala na talagang mixers na mag exist. Anong say ninyo didto?
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: November 29, 2023, 01:16:05 PM

In this $18k win, it is a nice win absolutely but we never know how much this player has spent before hitting the 1000x
There is also a possibility that the $18k is not even enough to cover his lost or it give small profit only because he may make so many bets.

I woudn't bother knowing as that will only spoil the fun.

You know, us gamblers does not usually talk about our losses, we love to talk our big wins and just like this winner here according to OP he was bragging about his big win, so let's give that moment to the winner as only few can win with that x1000 odds and only few are also courageous enough to risk $18 for a bet that winning chances is very slim.
664  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you follow these tips then (Hacker challenge) your bitcoin impossible to hack on: November 27, 2023, 06:54:40 PM
Hackers are starting to act smarter than us. Even if we practice with high caution, hackers will certainly find hints or motives that will guide them to hack our wallet. And if you're not mindful, you will really be taken advantage by these hackers and just wake up one day that you lose everything you have in your wallet. And this happens because you tend to trust everything in online, without knowing that the social media or the internet world is the home of hackers and scammers.

However, if you  resort into freeing yourself  from any online transaction, I think that will help a lot to lessen the chances of getting hacked. It's either you turn off your phone when you are doing important transactions, or you simply cut yourself from online exposure so that hacking will never be a serious problem.
665  Economy / Economics / Re: #HODLing is not a smooth journey on: November 27, 2023, 06:23:44 PM
People who only think hodling is a smooth journey are only those who do not really understand how to hold in such a volatile and unpredictable market. From the term "hodling", they only see it as a very easy task without seeing the factors that will definitely trigger or affect the hodler itself. But once you decide to enter long term hodling even if it's bitcoin, that's the only time you can say that hodling is never easy and without patience and understanding the market, your investment will only go into waste.

However, if you compare trading into hodling, its obvious that long term hodling is less risky and less stress free, but still the process is always tough and hard, unless if you become an experienced long term hodler already.
666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme. on: November 27, 2023, 01:05:24 PM
The way some people present Bitcoin to newbies who are interested in the technology, that's what makes them feel that Bitcoin is a get-rich-quick scheme. For example, you might ask a newbie to invest in Bitcoin, telling them that they will make a big profit in the next bull market. They might invest the way you have asked them to, but they might not actually know what the bull and bear markets are. They might not be able to handle the volatile nature of the market. But for the experienced Bitcoiners, they're all aware that Bitcoin is not a get-rich-quick scheme; Bitcoin investment takes time for you to reap your profit.
This is very true. If a beginner learns about BTC investing via YouTube or other social media, they will definitely win
wrong information, BTC investment seems to be the only way to get rich. They will not get other information such as risks and even about wallets for storing BTC correctly and safely.

This is important for beginners to think critically and not be lazy about looking for information. Luckily we are in this forum because all the information about BTC investment is here, there are many beginners outside this forum who consider BTC investment as an attempt to get rich quickly without having to wait and be patient.
This is the reason why beginners never stop chasing from earning quick profits because youtubers continue to deceive them through feeding them wrong information.  Bitcoin as a get rich quick is an overstatement, yes it could make someone rich but it takes couple of years or a decade to make it happen. There's actually no shortcut to success, just like getting rich quick never exist, except if you are in an illegal drug business or any monkey business that generate huge profits.

However, with bitcointalk forum that provides legit and reliable information, the number of beginners who fall for that wrong concept has been minimized. But with greedy newbies in the market, they still see bitcoin as an outlet to become rich and wealthy, which I think is possible if you work on it for and continue to maximize given opportunities in the market.
667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Many Bets to Know How Good Enough You Are? on: November 27, 2023, 08:10:13 AM
Assuming I want to go pro on betting...
What exactly do you mean by go pro on betting? If that is to rely fully on the income from gambling without any other source of income, that is not a very good idea. Gambling is far to unpredictable to rely on regardless of how good you are, and it is an addictive activity, so you should try to do it with as little pressure as possible.

- Jay -

When you turn professional, you view gambling as an investment. This means risking money with the hope of a positive outcome. It's a solo journey where you trust your skills and are willing to invest money in them. To succeed, you eliminate anything that could lead to gambling addiction or reduce your chances of success. Before deciding to go pro, you've likely encountered and learned how to handle these challenges, ensuring they don't hinder your goal of success.

Staying a pro in gambling implies that your primary source of income should come from gambling. Perhaps you have a side job or business to provide additional support, but a successful professional gambler should anticipate a substantial cash flow from gambling.
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: David Benavidez Vs Demetrius Andrade Interim WBC Super Middleweight title fight on: November 27, 2023, 06:52:25 AM
^^ Yes mate, and I do agree with what Porter says, his analysis is spot on and I think majority of the members here see that one. It's the youth of DB that really give problems to Canelo. And then you have to think about the power and the stamina being young to be able to go toe to toe with a not so prime Canelo at this point.

When Canelo moved up, Dmitrii Bivol was the champion, making it challenging to expect the same domination as in his previous division. I believe Canelo might not make a similar decision again and will likely stay in the current division, facing opponents like David Benavidez, who has showcased power and secured impressive wins against Demetrius Andrade.

However, if you're suggesting that Canelo is already out of his prime, or 'not so prime' as you stated, I disagree. I believe he is still in his prime. While his loss in the new division was acceptable given the circumstances, if he remains in a division where he is comfortable, we need to observe further before concluding that he is 'not so prime' anymore.
669  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A lesson from other people's mistake can go a long way on: November 26, 2023, 09:45:56 PM
There is no perfect investor or trader in the market. All have experienced their own share of mistakes and some have learned their lessons well while others are still repeating the same mistakes again, seems like they aren't learning at all. But here's my piece of advice:

1. Always invest on the amount you can afford to lose. Bigger amount of capital does not guarantee success and profits, but everything lies on the performance of a trader or a long term hodler.

2. Focus on bitcoin. If you wish to diversify your investments, it does not mean that you'll go with altcoins as you have no choice, but take part in other physical investments like real estate or gold.

3. Never trust other people in the market more than yourself. You only get scammed because you are too trusting.

4. Stay away from meme coins or shitcoins. While others may be lucky that they have made exceptional profits just like dogecoin, but the rate of chance to make it happen again is very rare or it could not be happening again.

5. Do the DCA method. Maximize your investment profits not by doing leverage, but stick to DCA.
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Was This Client Kidnapped for Their Coins? on: November 26, 2023, 07:58:40 PM
Crazy story. I question if there’s really someone out there that would put a $2,500 deposit down with a stranger they met on telegram for a writing project, but I guess crazier things have happened. This is a good example of how escrow could have gotten the seller their full payment after the disappearance of the buyer, but again, seems like a bit of a tale to me.
The story is really odd. Who would dare to trust online and instantly send a decent amount of money and then vanish all of a sudden? Is this some kind of a trap or a joke or whatsoever. But the way I understand it, the first user might have compromised his account and now other person has been using his account and he's trying to put you in a situation where its like nobody happened and he was the same user you have been in a conversation in the previous months.

My best advice for you is simply to block that account. If he's really a scammer, then the more that you'll get rid of him and never entertain him again. On the part of the original user you have been in agreement, if he's still alive, I think he's still in the process of trying to access to you so just wait for that time to come.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 26, 2023, 12:30:30 PM
Game 1 produced a surprising result as Meralco defeated TNT by a double-digit margin. Despite RHJ scoring 47 points, it wasn't enough to secure a win. The usual contributor, Oftana, was limited to just 4 points with a 2-11 shooting performance. Relying solely on RHJ won't guarantee victories for TNT; while he is capable, he'll tire quickly if he continues to carry the team. In their next game, they need to ensure that local players contribute to effect an overall team improvement.

Meanwhile, the 2nd game is live, with Bossing and Ginebra playing. It seems to follow a similar pattern to the previous game where Ginebra typically struggles with a slow start.

Ginebra is making a steady comeback in the second quarter, although Blackwater maintains its lead in the game. I anticipate that Ginebra will narrow the gap to a single-digit margin by the end of the first half.

Checking on the betting odds, Ginebra is still the favored team with a -3.5 spread at 1.90. Therefore, I believe this is a favorable line to consider if you are confident in their comeback potential, considering there is ample time left in the game.

Checking the score almost at the end of the 1st half and Blackwater still leading by 9 points, it can be a good timing for Gin kings backer taking that handicap might give them some decent win if by chance they will rally back during the 2nd half and win this game, though we all know that PBA can also ends up with a dissapointing outcome, "Silatan"  not sure if Gin kings fans will buy that possibilities.

Well good luck mga kabayan if ever you will place a bet while waiting for the 2nd half!

Ginebra managed to secure a win, but unfortunately, my bet was lost as they only won by 3 points. If the game had gone to overtime, there might have been a good chance, but the last sequence seemed like a bad play, with Ortiz throwing the ball early despite the difficulty of the shot. I believe the pregame spread didn't cover, and the live betting didn't fare well either. However, one of the members here posted a -2.5 spread, so anyone who took it is lucky, as it turned out to be a winning bet.
672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How discipline are you in managing your bankroll? on: November 26, 2023, 11:51:02 AM

But I don't know, but there are itch that I need to scratch and so I deposited again and then slowly all my winnings are now negative. But at least though, when I break even or at least lose only small amounts, I was able to take ahold of myself and not to deposit anymore because I'm thinking that I'm obviously in the losing streak and this can continue.

You'll mature eventually if you consistently learn from your mistakes. Our primary enemy here is ourselves, specifically our inability to control our emotions. If we aim to enjoy gambling for an extended period, we need to ensure we have the discipline to decide when to stop, whether winning or losing.

We all want success in gambling, so it should begin with disciplining ourselves, as strategies are crucial and require implementation with a clear mind to be effective. Scratch that 'emotion,' as it could undermine what we are trying to build.

674  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: There's always a price to pay. on: November 25, 2023, 10:08:20 PM
As you journey through every phase and stage of life, one of the determining factor that guarantee if you will be successful at what you do or not is the price you will have to pay to achieving success. There are times that you will have to cut off from so many friends just to be focused enough to facing your goals, there will come a time when you might even starve yourself just to get data to do your research on YouTube and other platforms just to become good at the thing you are doing. There are times you will have to endure and cope with the excesses of others just to learn from them, as a matter of fact, if you are not ready to endure whatever comes along with gaining knowledge, you will never learn a thing. Some might take away your night rest and for some persons, they can't even remember the last time they slept complete five hours every night and some might have  forgotten that people even still sleep in the afternoon. These are just a few of the so many sacrifices you will have to make depending on the peculiarity of what you are doing, just to become relevant and successful. This is the same route every successful person took that has brought them that far and if you ever aspire to be like them, you will need to pay your own price or take the risk of cutting corners and paying the bigger price that might even cost you your life.

Apart from the fact that we are all bitcoinner, I believe one common thing I find among us is the fact that we are all individual that are very passionate and committed at becoming successful at what we do and I hope this meets someone well out there.

In every part of success we dream, there's always a corresponding price to pay. We need to take risk so we could be successful with bitcoin. We need to set aside being impatient and learn to trust the market and on our investment so can be profitable on our own investment. And lastly, we need to keep studying the market and keep learning from every mistake and losses so we can continue to improve our performance and develop more skills to be successful not only with bitcoin but certainly in different aspects of our life.

[I lost all the bitcoins I had invested, it's sad. But I am very happy and glad to be able to fulfill my father's business and my own dreams]
OP, when you still have a job to make money. then at any time, you can start your Bitcoin investment again. Now you may no longer have Bitcoin, but you have experience and confidence in Bitcoin that brings success to you and your family.
congratulations on your achievement, there are many success stories like yours with Bitcoin. it may not be easy to do because some of them are impatient with their Bitcoin holdings.
starting from scratch is not a bad thing. Hopefully, you can invest in Bitcoin again soon.
Of course, if you are determined to invest again, then you will definitely find a way to make it happen even if it means buying a little portion of bitcoin from your small amount of hard-earned money. Especially that everyone is preparing for the upcoming bitcoin halving, then the more that you have to start buying again, but of course it only depends if you are now capable to invest or not. If not, then don't push yourself too much as it won't be good for you either.

Just continue to observe the market and keep learning. One day, when you have sufficient amount of funds, then invest when the market is giving you opportunity to invest and stick to bitcoin because that's the only secured and highly profitable asset in the crypto market.
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 25, 2023, 03:50:55 AM
We are currently watching the Spurs vs Warriors game, 2 struggling teams, who's gonna win this game?

Both teams having a good start shooting at least 60%, if the pace will continue this might go an easy over for the total. Wemby seemed playing well so far,  so let's see if it will continue and also let's see how the Warriors would limit Wemby knowing the lenght of their opponents is their main problem.

Still no Draymond Green for the Warriors, still under suspension.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: November 25, 2023, 03:05:39 AM
Houston Rockets - Denver Nuggets - Denver Nuggets (-2.5)
This is going to be a difficult task for the Nuggets and they have been losing some of their games due to a lack of players stepping up their game without Murray. But, I believe in Jokic, steal this one from H-Town.
Also taking the Over 210.5. If Nuggets wins their total score should be at 120+. That's their most likely number whenever they win games.
This one would not win as Rockets defense made the defending champ struggle on this game. Rockets already have a comfortable lead I'd say my bet would likely win as I have +3.5 on them, should have bet on the moneyline if I knew, LOL.

New York Knicks - Miami Heat - Miami Heat ML @2.90. Took the bet while Knicks is on a 3 point lead.
Good luck everyone.

Oopps. not too easy mate as Knicks are coming back in the 4th quarter, but either way even if Knicks will win I would still lose my bet, so I hope they'll just fall to the Heat, good luck to you.
678  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some people say they will never sell BTC. Is there any reason for that? on: November 24, 2023, 09:59:19 PM
So, time to time, I see some people saying they will never sell BTC. And I am thinking why is that? (I mean I understand that you can't say never, there will be a time you will have to use your BTC). Anyway, is there any calculations, reasoning behind this? Or it is just pure maximalism?

If there are reasons I would like to discuss them.
That's a big lie. One will never decide to buy and hold bitcoin without the desire to sell and make decent profits. Although we all have different time goals when to execute selling, but at the end of the day, we decide to sell and not to hold the coins forever.  Probably, for some bitcoin hodlers they are certain not to sell, but when unpredicted events suddenly happen and turn their lives upside down, eventually they have no other option but to sell bitcoin because the proceeds are badly needed.

Forever bitcoin hodling does not even exist. And if there's any, no one will suicide hodling their bitcoin especially that forever is a lot uncertain and we cannot even guarantee if bitcoin by that time will still be highly profitable and productive.
679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Holders Hesitant to Sell Despite Price Surge on: November 24, 2023, 09:35:59 PM
You know that's individual's choice especially if the bitcoin hodler is up for something bigger and more profitable. Smart bitcoin investors do not compromise their profits if they decide to sell, but when they do, they make sure that those profits will be utilized well even if the highly desired profits fail to achieved.  Most probably, bitcoin holders unable to decide well when it comes to selling because they know already the potentials of bitcoin, that its more ideal when left hodling as it attract more profitability in the making.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Math and Gambling on: November 24, 2023, 06:49:33 AM
When it comes to those games there is not really a strategy you can devise to beat them, and you must content yourself simply with the joy you can get out of them.

The term 'luck-based games' speaks for itself, especially for gamblers. It implies winning relies on luck rather than skills. Therefore, there's limited room for development here, except perhaps in mastering proper bankroll management. However, it's not entirely necessary, as the house edge will likely erode our bankroll over the long run. To be realistic about winning in gambling through mathematical strategies, the focus should shift to skill-based games. Moreover, specificity in the chosen game is crucial, as each game demands a different strategy and approach.
