661  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need help with trading on: July 26, 2021, 06:55:56 AM
My assumption in your loss is that you got screwed over by some sort of a shitcoin that hypes up their prices and deceives other people so the people that created the coin or have a lot of stake in the coin gets a lot of money out of the other people who are late to the party. I don't think that this assumption of mine is original because I believe that others think that it's the case.
662  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] holdfi.io - HYIP/Ponzi scheme on: July 26, 2021, 06:15:51 AM
Are there even legitimate DeFi projects anymore? A lot of them seems to be a scam or a Ponzi scheme nowadays which is a bit sad because people believe in this projects and they end up getting screwed over left with no money. I remember back then some of my friends are hunting these projects to invest and so far, no one has become a millionaire in any of them because they all go scammed and it seems that some of them still go for this even though it's a blatant scam. Good catch OP, one scammer out of the game is a good thing.
663  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1XBIT.com IS BIGGEST SCAM ON INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!! on: July 26, 2021, 05:06:13 AM
They have been doing this for a very long time. When you win more than you deposited. The chances of blocking your account are close to 100% and when you make a lot of noise, they will only refund what you deposited and claim the issue was resolved, that’s if you are even lucky. So, basically, you can't make any wins in their site. It's either a loss via valid bets if your bet losses or an account block/refund via void bets if your account wins big.
I think that this is what they do most of the time, blocking the users out of their wins, makes them look like a bitter group of people because they didn't expect that someone is going to win against a gambling business so they end up doing this to spite those people who win. A message to everyone, don't support them, they're doing a signature campaign, don't join them because in the end you only end up with perpetuating the problem which is 1xbit.
664  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ALERT] Tesla dogecoin fake airdrop website including bbc news fake website on: July 25, 2021, 06:41:57 AM
There's a lot of this kind of fake advertising even in Facebook, they are exploiting the sponsorship feature of Facebook so they can appear in the timelines of many users hoping to bait someone into scamming, hopefully many people will see this and hopefully prevent this kind of stuff from happening again.
665  Economy / Reputation / Re: "Yes, that's right" - the hallmarks of a farmed account from member "apa don" on: July 24, 2021, 12:05:48 PM
the amount of time and energy that you put in to this thread and your replies in insane.

my advice to you is to get a life
You good bro? Just because you can't write like how @JollyGood writes doesn't mean that he/she is a shut in, maybe people just have the time, energy, knowledge and verbiage enough to create a thread this big.
666  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor and middle class as a mentality on: July 24, 2021, 11:02:52 AM
I see the point where you are coming from but I will like to disagree being poor doesn't mean the child will be poor intellectually, I know the standard of teaching might be different but the curriculum doesn't differ from the country where I am from I have various examples to back this point up. No poor parent will want the child to grow up to be like him/her so they will try their best to train them in this time and era.
A child will stay dumb if there's no equal opportunity, I meam if everyone is given an equal opportunity for a quality education, we will see more of this poor child that excels more than the rich ones. For me, the mentality is there because people at the top are always trying ingrain that mentality because that way, they will stay on top.
667  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing for cash flow vs investing for total return (stock market) on: July 24, 2021, 08:31:49 AM
It's a bit trite but I think it's the best thing to do which is doing both, what I mean by that is that you are splitting your capital for investing for cashflow and for a total return. It kind of sounds bias though because that's what I plan to do when I finally invest in stock market, gather as much blue chip stocks that pays dividends and have some that are speculatory that I believe will boom and make a lot of money in the future.
668  Economy / Economics / Re: Higher Inflation Is Here to Stay for Years on: July 24, 2021, 07:48:56 AM
If we don't do anything about it to be gone then your claim that the higher inflation will stay here for years will come true, I think that if the economy recovers greatly, the high inflation rate will eventually die out.
I agree, not doing anything won't solve the problem but instead will cause the problem to get bigger to the point that a collapse or long-term fix is the only choices for the government to deal with the hyperinflation.
669  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is key to the future of Twitter, Jack Dorsey says on: July 24, 2021, 07:17:18 AM
Yeah, we are happy until we aren't. What I mean by that is that some people said it too back then when Elon was vocal about his company's acquisition of billions of worth of bitcoin back then and then suddenly suspending the payment option and saying that mining isn't good for the environment.

The difference is Elon is a whackadoo and flip flops on a lot of stuff and Dorsey has been very consistent.  Elon also is mostly just talk (and doing so for attention) but hasn't done really anything concrete to advance crypto, except say Tesla would accept bitcoin before canceling that.  Dorsey's Square has actually integrated bitcoin into the Cash app and has made tangible contributions to bitcoin adoption.  These two are almost polar opposites on crypto.  Elon talks about it because he wants attention, Dorsey actually builds things that have value.
I hope that you will prove me wrong because these billionaires and businessesmen supporting bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have a good track record of being a manipulator, I mean look at Elon, you may say that he is crazy but he is smart he was supportive of bitcoin until he pulled a rug under on many of the people.
670  Economy / Economics / Re: On Cuba and economy on: July 24, 2021, 05:38:31 AM
I think the protests is because of the pandemic not being able to resolved or being under control by the current regime. Plus another reason is that people are probably sick and tired of the current regime because they haven't made the lives of their countrymen easier which proves that communism doesn't work in practice.

Communism/Socialism sounds really nice in theory. But it can never be put in to practice. In case of Cuba, since it is a socialist country ideally there should be zero unemployment, and medical care/education available to everyone. But that is not the case. Medical care is free, but what is the point when there are not enough doctors? Since the government has run low on Forex, they have sent Cuban doctors to other Latin American countries, in order to earn forex revenue. And now coming to the jobs, in theory there is no unemployment. But the average average monthly salary is around $25 (as of 2016).
It can work but only if we were to surrender the desire for power and the need to step on another person. I mean, if you look at it, that's the reason why communism fails, the leaders that are instilled are just a replacement and not a reformation of the old and ruthless regime before that. I think that a certain level of socialism combined with capitalism can work because if you look at it. I mean look at countries with free healthcare and colleges.
671  Economy / Economics / Re: When everybody tell you take take risk with money on: July 24, 2021, 04:53:19 AM
Taking money risk can generate more money, the more risk the more money that can be made if precautionary measure is taken. This measures are very important in helping one to avoid excess risks that can lead to later regret if things go wrong.
Not just any risk, it has to also be a calculated risk since failing from risking could mean that you will be losing a lot of money in the process, although risking is good, we shouldn't forget that there's always another side of the coin and anyone who risks blindly could land on the bad side of that coin.
672  Economy / Economics / Re: knowledge and Capital which is Very important in Business or Investment? on: July 24, 2021, 04:20:48 AM
The first one is more important. It is said for a reason that knowledge - is power. With the right knowledge and practical skills, it is possible to make a profitable investment, even without a large capital. On the other hand, having no knowledge and a lot of money can be a total disaster and result in no profit whatsoever, it’s not uncommon. So there’s your answer.
I definitely agree but more than knowledge, we also have to have some wisdom and common sense because without the other two, knowledge alone isn't going to help you make a character.
673  Economy / Economics / Re: What is better - cryptocurrency trading or investing? on: July 24, 2021, 03:38:16 AM
For me, investing is a good one because it requires the least effort since all you do is just watch your investment grow and in the right time, take the profits that you have incurred over a period of time during the investing.
674  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is key to the future of Twitter, Jack Dorsey says on: July 24, 2021, 03:02:04 AM
Yeah, we are happy until we aren't. What I mean by that is that some people said it too back then when Elon was vocal about his company's acquisition of billions of worth of bitcoin back then and then suddenly suspending the payment option and saying that mining isn't good for the environment.
675  Economy / Speculation / Re: TESLA will re-accept bitcoin & SpaceX owns BTC, said Elon Musk. Ready for pump ? on: July 23, 2021, 01:25:34 PM
I don't think that I would consider myself ready, I feel like I don't have enough bitcoin yet that I can sell when the next pump where to ever happen. Also, I don't think that we would see a big pump given how we are seeing Elon as an antagonist in this market with his past manipulation.
676  Economy / Speculation / Re: the next checkpoint $13,800 on: July 23, 2021, 11:36:27 AM
Yeah, it's good to spread our investments. I don't think that it's good to buy at only one specific level. Because it's a big risk as the price can fall a great deal. It's better to buy at different levels to manage our investments more effectively. We can make more profit because of doing it.
There are merits to both because if you think about it, not spreading and going all in could be good for you because you never know if the price is going to go up and will end up with you having some leftover funds not invested because you planned to split it in levels thinking that it will go down much lower than what you previously bought.
677  Economy / Speculation / Re: 22 july, BTC 20k$ or 70k$? on: July 23, 2021, 09:03:33 AM
Well, 22 of July has passed already and I think that 70k is a pipe dream for now, and I suggest that this thread should be closed already. There's no more to speculate unless the title changes to another date, which I do hope does happens.
678  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Winter Is Coming, Warns Experts on: July 23, 2021, 08:29:08 AM
Hasn't this been the case for most of bitcoin's bear seasons in the past? A dump will happen, the price will relatively stagnate for a couple of months/years, a major event will happen that will either spark a price uprise or cause a major downfall on bitcoin's value.
It has been the case ever since, the people just thinks that there's something really different with this one because the prices are much higher which doesn't prove anything. I think the newbies are the ones that reacts like it's a big deal more than the veteran users in the community.
679  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin a good investment in this pendamic situation? on: July 23, 2021, 07:45:12 AM
I think given how we need different avenues to make money now that the pandemic has made some people been laid off of their jobs. And cryptocurrencies give a good opportunity to make some money out of it's volatility.
680  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Bank of Nigeria to launch digital currency Oct 1, 2021. on: July 23, 2021, 06:56:35 AM
Indeed, that is quite fast! We will see how things will pan out here once they deploy their very own CBDC. Interested on the sentiments coming from their own citizens. Because once people are getting acquainted with the use of CBDC, the likelihood of going into crypto - btc and other alts, is very high. As they will learn the nature of CBDCs and crypto, their differences and the benefits, some may eventually go to crypto because of so many advantages.
You have to also include the likelihood that once they get a taste of CBDC they might not even try use any other form of digital currency other than the one that they currently use but if there are people that are using other digital currency besides CBDC then the likelihood might be minimized since influence from people that have more experience will affect greatly other people.
