1661  Economy / Economics / Re: A Platform for Small-Scale Freelancing: Microlancer on: March 27, 2021, 08:50:52 AM
The biggest problem with microearnings is that it's simply not worth to anyone, even the poorest people, to spend time looking for these jobs and competing for them. Captcha solving was popular because it was reliable, you could sit and work for hours and slowly earn money. Who wants to refresh a site every minute for some small chance to get a $0.01 task?
Yeah, it is like a slave labor to the max, the only way that someone can earn from this is if the pay is decent but the sites that offer this have their hands tied and they have to make do with what is the amount of fund they have. To everyone that has doubts as to whether they should pursue this micro earning task, try developing a specific skill and offer your services in the Services board and earn more in bitcoin.
1662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another NFT sold for huge $$$ ' A column of New York Times on: March 27, 2021, 08:10:40 AM
You have to ask yourself the same thing about spending so much on online money to you know, I mean what you people are doing right now, being skeptic and ridiculing NFT because they pay a lot of money for an art or anything that is tokenized is the same as the people back then who laughed and ridiculed bitcoin during its 0.1 USD days, why ask as to why they spend so much on NFT? I mean you are not the people that are buying the piece so how does it affect your life if they buy it if you find it stupid, you people that are skeptic are going to be left behind.
Valid statement though!

While bitcoin got the demand due to actual use case but NFTs are more look like a collectible item so people want to buy it just for simply holding without actually using it that is what the difference between bitcoin adoption and NFT.
Exactly, NFTs are collectible which means that depending on who created it and how people perceive its value like paintings which is not that different with bitcoin as it is still considered more as an asset rather than a currency. That is another topic in it as well, the utility of NFT and I think that the one that will grow are those that have utilities like digital arts and anything related to it. Like what Metakovan did with the 70 million USD art that he bought from Beeple, he plans to display it in his Metaverse which is a virtual space and in a way make it a gallery for Beeple's artwork for the people to marvel at.
1663  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Banks money and blame for printing this is what I think on: March 27, 2021, 07:30:43 AM
I don’t really worry myself about all these things, but I do know that people don’t just blame them, there are things they are doing wrong which is making a lot of people to blame for those bad steps they make.

So, it’s not really about whether they are getting money from the work they are doing, of course they should get money from it, cause anyone that works deserves to be paid, but not when they are going about it the wrong way maybe by doing things that are very wrong just to get extra money and fill their pockets. That’s not good. Whatever they are doing should be done the right way, greediness and selfishness should be kept aside when they are doing these kind of works.
The people that we are blaming do not see themselves doing something wrong because what they are doing is filling their pockets generously and anything that will deviate from that fact is not good for them because they are one greedy people that doesn't think of the future of everyone but just the ability to keep their power for generations to come. Printing money isn't that bad, as long as it doesn't go haywire then all is good, remember that there is a lot of fiat that are getting destroyed every year so they have to continuously refresh the supply with new fiat because scarcity is the enemy of fiat.
1664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another NFT sold for huge $$$ ' A column of New York Times on: March 27, 2021, 06:38:20 AM
Does it really worth it to spend so much on an online art? Don't get me wrong, I do love some unique art and mostly love the idea of having them on blockchain but the way the price of the NFT's are being inflated is a bit surprising to me, I guess choice of what is valuable is quite different.
1665  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you explain NFT to a 5 years old child? on: March 27, 2021, 06:00:32 AM
I think that if you make the explanation relatable to their environment then it will be easy, I mean you can't just explain the most simplest of terms of NFT to a 5 year old child, I mean that is a 5 year old child, do you think the child will understand the word fungible is? Maybe explain through analogies or something similar like explaining to them that NFT are like pictures that you sell on the computer and you will wait for someone to buy it because they like it.
1666  Economy / Economics / Re: Tweets as Non-fungible tokens (NFT) - Dorsey's million dollar tweet on: March 27, 2021, 05:07:48 AM
Tweet as a NFT... the whole NFT mania is getting ridiculous.

I think that many of the 'artists' are pumping their creations with second wallets. This is also a perfect solution to come out with 'clean money'. I'm not buying it!
Best way to deal with the mania is get the most money out of it to be honest, whining about how it is a bubble is not gonna make you a lot of money, yes it is a bubble and it is still on the early stages before bursting and what you can do is make money out of it while it still hasn't burst yet. And besides after the burst, NFTs are here to stay just like the dot com bubble.
1667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You can now own this symbolic Charles Hoskinson NFT tweet on: March 27, 2021, 04:26:56 AM
Which one is the scammier: Charles Hoskinson or NFT of Charles Hoskinson's tweet?
MetaMask support should have answered with "Yes, use support email like anyone else. Contrary to your mom's belief, you are not special." Grin

Anyway, $3,000 is a lot of money for a useless tweet. However, if we think that a handwritten signature from celebrities can worth something, this NFT phenomenon makes sense.
That will still depend on who is the celebrity that you have a signature of, if you have Amber Heard signature then you might as well use that piece of paper with her signature as a toilet paper, what I mean by that is that these items from prominent people depend on their fame, are they a A lister or B lister will make a difference same as this NFT phenomenon, if the person behind the item is not that famous then their NFTs will be valued lower. 3,000 is not a lot of money, remember that Jack Dorsey sold his tweet for millions which is the same as any tweets out there.
1668  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) on: March 26, 2021, 12:30:28 PM
I think I have heard of something similar awhile ago, if I remember correctly it was JP Morgan that was offering these kind of ETF but it was full of holes and a lot of personal finance Youtuber do not like it because you basically don't own any bitcoin and the head of JP Morgan is also an avid opposition with bitcoin meaning that he is a hypocrite trying to say that bitcoin is bad and at the same time trying to make money out of it.
1669  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Is Protecting Human Rights Around the World on: March 26, 2021, 11:40:41 AM
Never knew bitcoin can be Ghandi lol. Kiddings aside, sometimes us supporters have to pipe down our love and enthusiasm for the coin as we come out as lunatics and cringey redditors at times.
This has to be said a long time ago, and I agree with this, just support bitcoin and not become a fanatic of it, and there is a thin line between the two. I mean this is just an exaggeration of the things that bitcoin can do, maybe in the future we might see something more wacky than this claim. Maybe if bitcoin was used to fund relief for war-torn countries then maybe bitcoin really does help human rights.
1670  Economy / Economics / Re: Food Prices Are Soaring Faster Than Inflation and Incomes on: March 26, 2021, 10:38:26 AM
Is there any country this isn't happening to?
Japan experiences deflation which is also bad because that means that there is no growth in the economy, being stagnant in between inflation and deflation is the ideal thing for a country to achieve, I don't know much about the income and food prices there but I have read an article that they are experiencing deflation.
1671  Economy / Economics / Re: Over the Past 300 Years, No Fiat Money Has Escaped Going to 0 on: March 26, 2021, 10:05:36 AM
I think that Belarusian Ruble counts as a fiat money that has gone to 0 because I watched a Youtube video where they are spotting scammers that are exchanging Belarusian ruble for euros instead of the local currency of Czech Republic with tourists as their main target and they said that the Belarusian ruble is useless and many people fall for that scam. As long as the government in each countries is still standing then the value of fiat will not go down to 0 and the only time that it will happen is when there is a fiat phase out or a total war.
1672  Economy / Economics / Re: Strong kyc reason on: March 26, 2021, 09:25:20 AM
It is not because of KYC that banks are making money, and yes they do not have money but they also can borrow money and that is called fractional banking reserve. Banks earn money by circulating the money through loans and investments, the reason for their KYC is to prevent the possibility of people getting away of financial crimes such as fraud or money laundering.
1673  Economy / Economics / Re: How much can you make by saving and compounding on: March 26, 2021, 08:48:41 AM
Isn't the issue here you need to withdraw some part of the money at some point for expenses?
You will get penalties if you withdraw it and there is no some part of the money invested when it comes to investing outside of bitcoin, you will have to withdraw it all out. The point of compounding is to grow your money on a long-term basis. You also shouldn't be investing if you are going to spend it in the end, you have to have a considerable amount of money so you can invest without the worry of withdrawing the money.
1674  Economy / Economics / Re: The Permanent Portfolio method by Harry Browne on: March 26, 2021, 07:54:20 AM
It indeed looks simple, but imho one has to have at least 500k, but most probably more than 1M USD worth of wealth in order to get even close of thinking to diversify like this.
But maybe I am wrong and then I am open to suggestions/ideas.
That was my first thought too, it is difficult to diversify especially if you don't have enough money or you don't have because as far as I know, it is pretty expensive creating a portfolio that will match that, not to mention that most of them you have to pay a large amount of management fee. I think that it is the end goal but in my opinion, you have to start focusing on one of them first so you can concentrate the wealth and make more money and then diversify.
1675  Economy / Economics / Re: Biden planning first tax hike(major) since 1993 on: March 26, 2021, 07:12:51 AM
This tax hike is just an excuse to make more money to create more bombs to use in offensives in Middle East and funding the paramilitaries there, no matter what he says about this tax hike that it will be for the welfare of the people, it will be an empty promise as long as they are still funding billions of taxpayers dollars into military and the rich people always get away from paying their taxes by lobbying and tax exemptions.
1676  Economy / Economics / Re: Does myanmar illustrate bitcoin's next evolution on: March 26, 2021, 06:32:09 AM
How can you use the Internet to do your transactions if the military is in control of what is happening and they have everything at their disposal for surveillance. Internet is decentralized in a way but the country can still control as to who is going to access it. And your dream of satellite Internet is not yet a thing as far as I know, maybe Starlink has the concept but I think that it won't be happening yet.
1677  Economy / Economics / Re: What's Next? After Bitcoin Passes The 60K Mark...... on: March 26, 2021, 05:53:30 AM
Sure there are ways to use your BTC as a currency in different shops. There are some cafes even in my town that gives the opportunity to buy there tea/coffee/some treats and snacks in crypto. One of ways to spend BTC is to register on SpectroCoin: https://spectrocoin.com/en/signup and after several simple manipulations to buy there Amazon Gift Card by BTC that will enable you to buy goods on Amason using it. Another question is in readiness of people to spend their profitable cryptocoins on purchases.
I envy your country or wherever you are because that means that there is a progress happening there, in my country there is close to no businesses that are doing this kind of stuff because A.) They do not want to integrate it because they are scared of what they don't know or B.) They do not know about it all, with B being the most frustrating of the two because businesses in A can be persuaded. Maybe what is next for bitcoin after reaching the 60k mark is it will try to break the 70k and 80k as usual.
1678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future of BTC on: March 25, 2021, 09:00:24 AM
It's just getting started and expect to see more of those in the future. The improvement that we're going to see has already been on the roll for the Segwit and Lightning Network.
And what's more desirable is that there will be more known companies that will announce their investment on bitcoin and also the acceptance of it.
I hope that the future catch up with the problem especially with transactions is really problematic for the system. Hopefully Lightning Network becomes more mainstream and more will use it in the future because I believe that when it comes to everything speed is the key. Companies are going to be pouring which worries me a little because we might have less room for individuals who wants to invest in bitcoin.
1679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: March 25, 2021, 08:20:22 AM
The One Esports Singapore Major is about to come. But there were a lot of substitutes for some teams because some of their players got tested positive for covid-19. They're at least 5 players got tested positive and won't be able to attend but were replaced.
https://liquipedia.net/dota2/ONE_Esports/Singapore_Major/2021
Yeah, I have heard of that news and I think that this means that the roster is going to be shaken a little because they are going with a stand in but I think that they can easily re-synergize their skills as a team and I hope that this won't affect the odds for that team a little but if it ever did so then so be it, I like a little uncertainty.
1680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos ordered by IBF on: March 25, 2021, 07:23:14 AM
I would go for Lopez considering he has a better reach and he is younger which could translate to an endurance.
When it comes to credentials Lopez has a lot to show, but Kambosos is one hungry fighter who will do everything just to give Lopez a good fight, boxing aficionados will go for Lopez but Kambosos is a dark horse he can give Lopez a good fight, he once announced that his greatness will start after he beat Lopez, this is big words let's see if he can walk his talk, and give Lopez a good fight, my heart goes for Kambosos, but logic pointed Lopez has all the edge.
Maybe that hunger and talk will be able to show when they finally touch gloves in the ring. I think that this confidence is enough to make him a determined fighter against Lopez. If what your heart tells you is Kambosos then go for it in the end what you and me want in this fight is to be a spectacular show considering they are young fighters.
