Ok, but they are not announcement threads, actually, I am not sure what was the purpose of translated bounty topics in our board as most (if not all) of these bounties had that "post 10 times per week in altcoin section" requirement. Someone could have easily created topic and write something like "there is good bounty for X project, if anyone is interested here is topic in altcoin", and, we already have 2 years old topic dedicated to bounties. I don't know, but somehow bounties don't fit in neither altcoin or altcoin announcement, well, I would personally trash all bounties from that section but that is just me  I may be taking a wild guess here, because I've proudly stayed out of shitcoin bounty projects for some years; but back when I did participate in a few, the translation used to include both the ANN and the Bounty thread; not sure why, but that's what you got paid to do (if you ever got paid at all). I doubt things have changed much in the last 3 years. The only "reasonable" thing you could tell your local bounty hounters is to post the bounty post as the second reply on the ANN? Most won't ever listen tho (and of course, report any shitty translation) |

Diria que la sección es la correcta, estas ofreciendo un servicio como tal. Hasta donde interpreto las definiciones, mercadillo es para compra venta de objetos/cuentas (bienes por asi decirlo). Una vez aclarado eso (o expresada mi opinion) no me queda más que desearte suerte en esta nueva aventura! |

Man, you're really diving headfirst down the rabbit hole on this one--might it not be more efficient to report a few of his posts and just write a note for the mods to have a look at the rest of his posts? A couple of years ago when I had a bad bout of insomnia, I went on a reporting crusade, but I found that if a member is consistently shitposting/plagiarizing/whatever, you don't need to report every post.
But nice work on this, and don't drive yourself crazy looking for idiots like this using translation tools. If you take a close look at a lot of members' post history, you can find all sorts of rule-breaking and other offenses. This forum is still a cesspool of bitcoin-hungry degenerates employing an untold number of alt accounts and who knows what else.
Not sure you've realized, but my avatar is literally a scuba diver.... Easy jokes aside, I had not idea what I was getting myself into; I started casually checking posts, and during the first 3/4 pages, every time there was room for a reasonable doubt, I didn't report any post. But then I realized what was going on and well... I didn't feel like checking 91 pages of post history, so after reporting that much, I simply created the thread, both for feedback reference and to help the moderators handling the reports (apart from PMing our local one). Our local Altcoin board needs some overhauling, and I had to start somewhere. If there's a slim shot that every paid translation done poorly or this way gets deleted, then we may even see some improvement in the situation; post gets deleted, bounty hounter doesn't get paid. An effort has to be made, but if there's a chance, I'm willing to take it. Note that I'm only talking about paid posts/translations; there are a couple of situations in which the aid of a translation tool is acceptable Thanks for your words though |

Thanks for the reply, I really apreciaty some local mod input here; and it's rather reasuring to see that we mostly share the standar for when a translation tool may be acceptable or not. I have tried to check every post before hitting the report button, as many had a link with it and checking those was a really easy thing to do; copy, paste, compare, report... but on some others, there were some signs of strange words or grammar off things. There may be some room for the benefit of the doubt there; but I rather leave those ones up to the mod. There were some others that I couldn't report, because there were no off things at all. There were however some posts that made perfect sense, and would have completely tricked me. They did have a link, so just in case I double checked, and realized that it had been a copy-paste translation. If there is a complete match, even if its readable and makes perfect sense, would the same principle apply? I know this is more of a personal interpretation of the rules, but still, I rather ask (no need to answer though) |

Considering your request, may take me a day or two to respond completely. Work keeps me busy and I want to consider whether your interest in resolving this is genuine. There are people on this forum that will fuck over other members for no better reason other than they can have power behind anonymity.

Algo que en estas pocas semanas que han pasado han hecho que mi perspectiva cambie sobre los hilos chincheteados ha sido empezar en el foro germano. La forma en la que gestionan las cosas es completamente distinta a como lo hacemos aquí, y sin ir más lejos, mi primer post allí tiene chinchetica por haber sido considerado útil por varios usuarios del sitio (criterio que se podría aplicar a la hora decidir aquí). Si a varios les ha parecido buena idea, y no hay ninguna objección al respecto, adelante con ello. El tema del mantenimiento me parece un poco flojo, ya que sea chincheta o no, el usuario lo mantendrá hasta cierto punto. Si por lo que fuera ese usuario se vuelve inactivo, otro puede venir y decir "oye, estoy haciendo una continuación de X hilo para poder tener siempre el OP actualizado". Tal vez no sea lo mejor, pero es una posible solución. Es basicamente lo que propones, solo que añadiendo bien claro que es una segunda parte (y enlazando a la vieja). Respecto a los recopilatorios... a falta de un criterio claro, se podría "simplemente" dejar que la gente elija los hilos que más interesantes/útiles le han parecido (pequeña explicación) y los más recurrentes y subiendolos al OP. El mantenimiento... pues lo mismo de antes; no podemos poner la mano en el fuego pero tampoco es cosa de cerrarnos puertas por saber que eso puede pasar. Con el tema de proponer los cambios, sobre todo consenso. Es lo que más ha recalcado Cyrus; que se vea que estamos de acuerdo y luego ir pidiendo poco a poco las cosas. No mencionamos nada sobre Epochtalk, y la verdad, no entremos a opinar sobre ese desarrollo, que camino lleva de ser "la historia interminable"... Al no haber una base especifica, supongo que todo depende de pedir y esperar a ver que pasa |

Thanks for showing up; I believe you are the only one keeping a cool head with this (out of the ones that are involved from the local board). For now, I've stopped reporting until we get some guideline from the staff (be it global mod, local mod or admin) but as I did remember talking to franckuestein (former mod) about this some time ago, I did some digging and found 1 PM regarding this issue. Since it's relevant, and he's been inactive for some time, I'm going to post it; if there's any need to verify it's autenticity, I can always hit the report button, as usual. I didn't PM him to ask about this; I remember that it was simply a post that showed up in the local main board, and replied that: -There was something off with the translation -The thread should be moved to the altcoin local boards. I don't remember hitting the report button back at the time. Then, our beloved former mod PM'd me quoting my reply on the thread (and thanking me for it). Basically, he's telling me that this kind of posts help find copy-paste translations and that if I ever see such a thing, I should hit the report button so that it gets handled faster. Needless to say that the post got trashed, so that created quite a precedent to me, and ever since, my stand on machine translations has been, as you say, no use of automated translation - period. I'll make an exception to this, and I think I mentioned it on OP, when a user is not getting paid for posting in the local board, BUT has some trouble with the language. I for example, double check every post I'm making in the german boards before posting, to see if it'd be understandable; but that is after I have written the post, and not that the post comes out of the tool. This use case is different though; because the "poor" language level is directly related to the skill of the user (I'm using my own example to call myself useless, yes), and not because a translating tool has deemed that wording right. Anyway, I'll wait and see what the staff has to say on the issue. And I'm not getting involved in a size 14 personal attack shitstorm |

Incluso casi que mejor, para evitar llevar este hilo a un off topic, que el objetivo primario era el de informar de lo que me comentaba anoche Cyrus. Cierto es que google translate ha mejorado (muchisimo) con los años, y si que llevaba tiempo mosqueado por un par de cosas que me chirriaban, aunque no habia llegado a asociar el uso de esta herramienta hasta que se me ha iluminado la bombilla viendo un par de cosas juntas. La interpretación de la norma si que va a ser interesante; Cyrus comentaba anoche que si Welsh no aparece en un par de días investigará un poco el asunto al ser de una magnitud... considerable. Sin embargo, el precedente habitual del foro (en los tiempos de Fran), era que este tipo de practicas se iban directas a la papelera. Aquí solo nos queda esperar y ver. Con respecto al Trust, también existe el precedente para estos casos; bajo el pretexto de que ha existido una transacción comercial (el pago de un servicio) que no se ha realizado (a ver si ahora meter algo en un traductor en línea va a ser trabajar...). El riesgo en este caso, es pagar por un servicio "especializado" que en realidad no se está realizando, pero si cobrando por ello. Puedo buscar algún caso como ejemplo, pero existir existen (tambien se comento anoche por discord). Puedes comentarlo también en el otro hilo supongo, procedo a responder ahí.... |

Not for that; but for doing absolutely no check. You can never know what they are doing as yoh can't read every language. You want to proof read the translation? If you are managing the translation from the forum, you still can't be sure that the proof reading part was done accurately. Agreed, but this particular case was as simple as picking some random strings of text, and seeing that 100% of them are a match to google translate. The same way signature campaign managers have tu ensure their spammy users don't get paid, I don't think asking for some control here is something crazy. But how many managers hire translator who are reputed in the forum. And reputed people also don't work with bounty rewards.
It’s not easy to pick and ensure a quality translator from this forum because there are cheaters who want to translate all the languages and get all the rewards.
Although I also agree, that's reallly the managers' problem, not ours. And maybe, and only maybe, if more people refused to be paid in some made up shittoken, we'd start seeing some real projects flourish, instead of the constant scamfest the Altcoin section has become.

Yes he did, that's why I reported over 200 of his posts yesterday before falling asleep, and will continue to do so today; 91 post pages are no joke to check manually. I did see that he has some local posts in other languages, but I can't judge whether they are real or another google trasnlate job; I'd love if the people speaking those languages would hop in and start reporting them aswell.
I made some random checks on his first "jobs" too, dating 2016, and not very surprisingly, they were the same machine translation material; together with some shitposts. I would appreciate if someone could make a list of all the managers he has worked under, and PM them to come here to give some explanation. By allowing this kind of unprofessional job, they let him create a huge portfolio that helped him get onboard more projects. I already PM'd the 2 managers mentioned in OP, BountyDetective replied back saying they were going to investigate the case before responding here and the other guy has yet to reply |
