1201  Other / Meta / Re: Referral Link In Post Is Allowed? on: May 14, 2020, 05:10:59 PM
I've been having a doubt for a couple of months, and this thread looks like the place for it...

I know that referal links are not allowed; but are they allowed IF you are:

1)clearly stating that it is a referal link
2)providing the same link with referal link

Example....

I'm talking about a website I use and blablabla. When I finish the text wall; I provide the link this way:

Link to the site: bitcointalk.org
Referal link to the site: bitcointalk.org/ref/903175

If you want to help use the ref link, blablabla.

Providing the ref link, with a non ref link option is allowed? For my reading of the rules, I'd say no; but it looks like a different case than simply spamming the link and hiding it under links
1202  Local / Primeros pasos y ayuda / Re: Como consigos meritos? para postear imagenes? on: May 14, 2020, 03:26:32 PM
Pues puedes, o bien postear contenido de calidad para que te demos meritos si lo creemos conveniente; comprar una membresía que hace que tu rango sea equivalente a Member, o contratar a alguien para que lleve tu ANN
1203  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum returns me transaction error on send on: May 14, 2020, 09:19:32 AM
Wait, what dust outputs means? Too few bitcoins?
Kind of. You are trying to move 0.001mBTC, with a fee of 0.04mBTC. Total transaction will move 0.00552mBTC, and 0.00057mBTC will be left in the wallet. Seeing how many satoshis you have to pay in fees, that remaining 0.00057mBTC will never be able to be used; and if I don't remember it wrong,g that is the "dust".

Oh, no I didn't know that. Can't you sign messages with wallets?
Signing a message and using a tag are 2 complete different things. You can sign a message, mostly to verify that an address is yours. You then have to provide the person that will verify it with the message, the signature, and the address. It's not like you sign a message and everyone can see it (they can, if you provide the already mentioned things)
1204  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Ayuda con Transaccion sin Confirmar on: May 13, 2020, 10:47:20 PM

1205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Small doubt about fees on: May 13, 2020, 10:35:51 PM
Okay, that does actually make a lot of sense. I hadn't even considered block size; but if you can have almost 3 smaller transactions with a higher fee, instead of a bigger one with smaller fee; you'll earn 3 times more...

Thanks for solving that doubt! I'll leave the thread open in case someone wants to point out something more
1206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Small doubt about fees on: May 13, 2020, 10:18:14 PM
Last week, I translated LoyceV's "consolidate your inputs" guide into Spanish, so that local users could also read it, and do the thing local boards are meant to do. As it is natural, some questions arose, and even if all of them were answered; one of them has gotten me thinking ever since.

A higher fees means that your transaction will be picked faster from the mempool than a lower fee transaction. But what happens when a transaction is big enough to pay more in fees than a smaller transaction with a higher fee? I'll add an example:

User A sends a 70 byte transaction at 60 satoshi/byte fee. It's a high fee, and that user is confident is going to be part of the next block. Total fee paid (size*fee); 4200 satoshi
User B sends a 200 byte transaction at 25 satoshi/byte fee. It's still a "high fee" IMO, but the user has no rush on getting that transaction sent, and believes the transaction will be confirmed within 4 hours tops. Total paid fee, 5000 satoshi

Fee from user A is higher than in B, but the net worth of the fee in B is higher than in A.

It is my understanding that because of that net worth, transaction B will be confirmed earlier than transaction A (5000>4200), but I'd like to double check it before I give an incorrect reply back in the local board.

Apreciate your replies on this, and thanks in advance for answering
1207  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN SLOTS] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: May 13, 2020, 07:17:32 PM
I think you have know clue how much of my life I gave to someone else, or how difficult the bad days were.

a)He does not
b)Why would he?
c)Why is it relevant on a signature campaign application?

If the answer to C is "it is not", then why even bring it up?

Also, your "message" is not very 'good'. You should really include your username, the date and the reason for signing the message. I mean, anyone could send that same message to someone else and claim that they own that address Tongue

I made a better message now,

Code:

Only the email and the forum thread/PMs are official channels. This has been said a couple of times by TheQuin; social media is managed by another person that has nothing to do with support requests.

You can also see the xPub key inside blockchain.com

Simple head to Bitcoin--Settings---Wallets&Addresses---Manage (on the wallet you want the xPub from)---More Options---Show xPub

I can provide screenshot if it's not clear enough, but it's kinda late and I'm going to have some sleep for the day. Will update it in the morning if you need so
1213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: freebitco.in scam? on: May 12, 2020, 11:11:02 PM
Did freebitco.in give a TXID for your withdrawal? If so, check again (using a blockexplorer) that the funds were sent to the correct address.
They do, it's an automated feature, but records of withdrawals are only shown for the past 30 days (not sure about how long they store them).
They do also send an email every time you withdraw with the amount of coins and the tx id; so try looking for it and the checking on a block explorer to see where the coins actually went.

Also first time I hear about StakeCube too....
1214  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor or Ledger? And how to get my forks Bitcoin Cash / Gold / SV?? on: May 12, 2020, 11:06:12 PM
I'll go straight to the answers:

1.   Wich Hardware Wallet is more safe? I read that there COULD BE a risk that Ledger makers could have a backdoor in the device to access coins? Trezor is open source no? Is it more safe?
AFAIK, Trezor has a physicall vulnerability, so if someone has access to the device, they could get the seed and steal the funds. I don't use a Ledger wallet, so I don't really know about any backdoors to it. Nevertheless, both HW are secure enough to be the most used around, and you can always protect your funds with a passphrase; that is, to say in very vague terms, an extension of your seed. You can read more about it here

2.   Did I understood correctly that if I want to get (claim?) my bitcoin cash from the BTC fork, before I do that, I should move my bitcoin from the paper wallet to a new wallet and claim my bcash after moving my bitcoin to the new wallet? So if the paper wallet is empty, I still can claim my bcash and bgold?
BCH, BTG, and any other forked coins (BSV for example), are a copy of the Bitcoin blockchain at a certain point. If you had 5 BTC in a wallet before the snapshot, you'll get the equivalent airdropped (not always 1:1) ammount of that Altcoin at that moment in that address. Think of these forks as Altcoins, you can't send a DOGE transaction on the ETH network.

3.--
4.--
I'll skip these, as I lack the knowledge to answer them....

Quote
5.   I just realized, question 3 is not important, if the method in question 2 is correct? So first I would send my Bitcoin from the paper wallet to the Ledger or Trezor. And then claim my Bcash/BGold in Exodus and sent Bcash/Bgold from Exodus to the Ledger or Trezor right?
That would be the reccomended order, yes. You first move your BTC, because you are going to be entering your private key into other platforms/wallets, and who knows who's looking... Then, once claimed, sweep them into your HW and you'd be done.

As a matter of fact, I'd say that Coinomi wallet is reccommended to claim forked coins, becuase it offers multi-coin support, so when you enter your private key, it should retrieve the coins on all the available forks at once. LoyceV does also offer a service to claim these coins

Edit: Typos (lol); and I've realized that the thread from Loyce does also offer a table with the wallets in which (some) of the forks can be claimed
1215  Economy / Reputation / Re: Chuckbuck is talking to himself, abusing merit, a farm house of alt on: May 12, 2020, 10:48:17 PM
I don't want to be "that" guy; but:

I don't object to the negative feedback which marlboroza has left me, but I hope he considers these and edit it, I have never cheated in campaigns and no connection with other accounts.
Rank-wise, you are currently cheating the campaign you are participating in. Had you created an account back in 2017; when you say you started working on it, you could have potentiallybeen a Sr Member by the time Merit was implemented; seeing that you have earnt 166 in total, you'd still be there. I admit that this may sound a bit too harsh and not really accurate.

It's not a group, it's many different groups. Most of these groups are public. New member will be instructed to create an account + spam or buy an existing account. They will guide specifically, from creating a wallet, to participating in campaigns, then how to recieve payment. Naturally, newcomers are supposed to share with them the rewards they receive or support them in a few other jobs. The only thing they do not guide is how to avoid being detected fraud  Tongue
I don't usually frequent Reputation because of the whole Drama issues I rather avoid; but it looks like you simply... don't care? "yes, I've been caught; I admit it, but nothing will actually happen; so what next?"
Again, I might be overeacting, but adding you to my distrust list a couple of weeks ago also seemed like overeacting; and looks like it wasn't...
1216  Economy / Reputation / Re: Red trust because of the creating ANN THREAD. on: May 12, 2020, 05:19:35 PM
Oh? I found his/her feedback in Untrusted Feedback, surely it's affected due to my trust list.
Suchmoon distrusts that user, and you trust suchmoon, so I'd say that the reason it's not showing.

As for the OP, I don't speak russian, so I have no clue why the feedback was left. Nevertheless, if you move this thread to the Reputation board, and give some reason as to why the negative is uncalled for; you might get a chance of the user showing up to explain
1217  Economy / Reputation / Re: Chuckbuck is talking to himself, abusing merit, a farm house of alt on: May 12, 2020, 03:35:48 PM
BPIP doesn't show your alt account as banned. You've admitted to 2 ban evasions so far on the thread, but they seem to be minor; and if both were temporary, right now, you are not evading any ban.
I really don't know, maybe the ban was revoked  Cheesy Anyway, it's great!
And once again, you are completely ignoring the question about your account behaviour changed to show that you are not a hacked/sold account

Quote
5. Chuckbuck evaded ban twice including his alt is still ban.
It is a temporary ban... Not permanent...
A ban is a ban; be it temporary or permanent. Your lack of respect, and I'd even say disregard for the forum rules is amazing
1218  Economy / Reputation / Re: Chuckbuck is talking to himself, abusing merit, a farm house of alt on: May 12, 2020, 01:07:06 PM
I think you're right about it. I made some posts with my secondary account while my main account was banned temporarily (7 days). In addition, I also use it to send messages and deal with others (direwolf and mike). And the next day, when my main account was unlocked early (3 days). I also realized that my secondary account was banned. I think the mod acted on it. I tried to hide it until this topic came up  Tongue
Edit: Am I banned for this reason?  Cry

1220  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com (app) wallet funds transfer on: May 12, 2020, 10:46:06 AM
I have read your last reply before you deleted it (?), and something didn't seem right. AFAIK you are supposed to be able to access all your different wallets, no matter if its a desktop or mobile wallet.

Can you open blockchain wallet on your desktop, go to Bitcoin-->Settings--->Wallets&Addresses, and see if the problem is that you have 2 wallets, one is the default for the phone, and another one is set as default for the browser?

If that's the case, simple click Manage-->More Options-->Make default

Edit: already replied your below post here Cheesy
