781  Other / Meta / Re: [24h] Three Millionth User on: January 18, 2021, 11:36:41 AM
There's one more "premature" three millionth user > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2999998
Whoever created those accounts he used most likely a script.
All 3 accounts were created without the user logged in, so Last active stays at : Never. THat's why I think only on person controls those accounts. Let's see if he shows up here.
782  Other / Meta / Re: Reason for ban? on: January 18, 2021, 11:24:28 AM
There is a staked address from 2019, it might help if you sign a message from it.

not saying im gonna win but if i do just keep in mind "Modern art = I couldve done that + But you didnt"

Are you sure the account is banned or maybe locked?
No passwords or email change from the begging so I don't see it as hacked account.
783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can you claim Bitcoin forks from bc1 addresses? on: January 15, 2021, 01:30:51 PM
In that case I don't know any "valuable" forks, maybe Bitcoin Private or Bitcoin Gold but I don't really follow those shitcoins anyway. If you had a significant amount of bitcoins on the time of the fork they you probably won't to collect the dust.
Anyway, you can trace the forks and check their block explores for the address you have. I don't really see other way to do that.
784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can you claim Bitcoin forks from bc1 addresses? on: January 15, 2021, 12:04:16 PM
The short answer is NO.
bc1 address cannot contain any BCH as Bitcoin cash do not support Segwit and because some of the bitcoin community didn't want to accept Segwit they created this hard fork to split from the Core bitcoin. BSV was a fork of BCH, so no way there as well.

If you are unsure for any other addresses, you can check them on https://blockchair.com/
785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 BTC = 1 BTC - Off topic from Chipmixer campaign topic on: January 13, 2021, 11:23:05 AM
The Chipmixer discussion went that high that even cz_binance left his opinion on that 1btc=1btc.
With this rates I have the feeling that he might be part of the signature campaign Tongue
Since I cannot embed tweets here, here's a pic.

786  Other / Meta / Re: What do you think about this UI? on: January 13, 2021, 11:01:57 AM
I think this could be suggested to the new forum software Epochtalk. As I see there are already some suggestions for the new UI like this one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5296215.0
I personally like the old one, or maybe more accurate is to say I'm used to it but I would love to sea "night mode" implemented as Welsh mentioned above.
Overall it's a nice design but it won't be implemented to the official forum anyway.
787  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: January 12, 2021, 02:44:16 PM
I have a task to fininsh but it will take some time.
So if anyone want to grab it and help, it's good.
I won't put names so they cannot easly find this post.

THere's a guy on fiverr doing his bumping job.
https://www.fiverr.com/seospecialist01?source=gig_cards&referrer_gig_slug=bump-up-your-bitcointalk-ann-thread&ref_ctx_id=0941303c-3cae-4818-ada5-be05fd4a5ea5

I manage to locate two of the threads he was managing and will need to connect the bumping accounts, then just nuke them and ban his accounts and delete those Ann threads, using bimping service is obvious cheating and will most likely leading to scam projects.
Let's see:

The ANN thread :  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5179650.0

Difficult to read the Ann thread but I'll keep diging.

What part are you talking about and wonder why would you buy it from Norway as their prices there are quite high, I'm sure it can be found elsewhere. I'll see if I can find someone to help you.
Edit: There's an additional fee of 39 NOK for the local delivery if the package is not too big.
789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Where are the GPUs? Tips welcome. on: January 12, 2021, 12:38:05 PM
I have a friend in the States with the same problem, he said the he wanted to buy PS5 for a very long time but amazon was out of stock all the time so he found a guy selling it localy. This guy had a trading bot for Amazon which buys automatically when things come up on Amazon, and he is not the only one.. they do this with almost everything videocards as well and then they sell those on double price even more.

791  Other / Meta / Re: Using TOR, Hitting more often clouldflare checking message. on: January 12, 2021, 10:06:52 AM
Do you frequently open "All" pages? If so, that's the reason since AFAIK it's intentional configuration set by theymos. Still, it happens few times to me, but usually i just need to wait between 5 - 15 second.

I would try different circuit if i were you.

No, I don't open it more often than before, the only times I've seen this message before was on this "all" link but for the past few days I see a difference, message is coming more often while reading topics, without clicking the "all" link and when I log in today I had to wait for a while, the 5 sec screen kept refreshing a few times.

A guy contacted the blockchain support about an account with only aliasId without a registered email and they reply that it's possible to help t Then you should get in contact with the their support and they will solve your case as well.

793  Other / Meta / Using TOR, Hitting more often clouldflare checking message. on: January 12, 2021, 09:01:28 AM
I don't know if anything changed or it's because of the higher traffic load lately, I get quite often the Checking your browser message. Before it was only If I hit the "show all" on the topics, now it took like 2 min. to log in and also when I browse i see it on places I've never seen before.
794  Other / Archival / Re: What's happening? A forum bug? on: January 11, 2021, 11:00:55 AM
I can confirm the same thing is happening with my Opera.
Interesting thing is that if you open one topic and then go back and refresh, the topic below that is also marked as read. I tested it 3 times, here is the result.

Test on Version:73.0.3856.284.

Still following the same pattern.
795  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: help with my private keys (ihave the assword of my wallet.dat file) 2 btc reward on: January 10, 2021, 06:36:55 AM
What is the the format of the private key- the first characters and length of the key?
If you bought the wallet most likely you have been scammed already. Where did you get the wallet from?
Check the address accosiated with the private key from the bitcoin core you are trying to transfer the funds from on the blockchain. Like blockchair.com or blockchain.com There will see the actuall funds in the address.

797  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: January 09, 2021, 05:50:22 AM
Hi, I have no idea what im doing but I need to get my blockchain account signed. How do I go about it especially to find my private keys? PLEASE help me as im new and have already been hacked on my Freebitco account and really want it back.

Address: 1EZtsLyN8A4DggauASiM7vK8yRQfyuCyNn

I made a short guide how to extract the seed from Blockchain.com and import it in electrum.

I don't actually have the seed orelse I would have simply imported the address and signed a message from blockchain wallet itself.
The only things I have is: "Wallet-id & password" which gives me access to the blockchain wallet.

I hope the email verification works as it's my last hope perhaps. Embarrassed

This is enough, login to your blockchain wallet, go to Secuity Settings and then Backup Phrase.
Click on the Backup Funds and follow the instructions.
There you gonna get your 12 word seed which you can import in Electrum.
It's easy.

I even made a guide, see below Smiley

798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / How to bruteforce a mobile wallet backup? on: January 08, 2021, 09:50:41 AM
This thread got me thinking and I started to research a little bit.

Here is an example scenario of what could happen.

You install a bitcoin wallet on your phone, you make a backup file with a password, and store it somewhere safe.
After a year you lose your phone, buy a new one and try to recover from that backup, but you forgot that password you use to encrypt the backup.

How in the hell you can brute force it?

I did some experiments to create a backup and try to decode it. I found no info on the internet about it and started my own approach.

The source file starts with "U2FsdGVkX1" so I presumed it was an openssl encryption. So here we go.

The password of the file was 1234.
Here is the result.

Of course, the wallet is empty and it's used for testing if just in case you tempt to steal my bitcoins Cheesy

I still think I'm not in the right way. People talking about that key derivation function used to encrypt the whole file instead of having a password hash in the source.
But still, I manage to get the correct password in the 32 suggested solutions out of 10000 possibilities.
I need to read more..

Some extra thoughts, looks like btcrecover was using Scrypt in order to crack the android bitcoin wallets so I assume is used Scrypt Key Derivation Function to encrypt the backup.

I made a progression in cracking the android bitcoin wallet password using btcrecover, but no success on the Dash wallet yet, working on it too Smiley

If I make a success in that experiment, I will turn this thread into a guide. Smiley

799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: **REWARD** Help me restore my wallet!! on: January 08, 2021, 09:16:00 AM
Hi guys, thanks again for helping me out

I thought that the seed phrase could be stored in the HDD somewhere as well

Almost sure that if the version of electrum I used required the seed phrase, I did something like Next/Next/Next/Accept  (yeh, I didnt care much back then)

Surely I didnt write it down or took a screenshot or summin.

Unafortunately I wasnt able to restore any wallet file/folder...

I'll try to run scalpel and I let you know the result guys.

Thanks a lot

You cannot copy/paste the seed, you literally have to type it in but probably you didn't save the file.
Go make a new installation of electrum, if you haven't done it already, and see if it will ring any bell Smiley

Another idea, copy all your recovered files in one folder and use some of these tools to find a specific phrase.
You can search for "addresses" for example and see what results you gonna get.

Hi guys! Thanks again for all the help

I just realized I've got PLENTY of *.dat and *.txt files!

Any suggestion of what filenames I should look for? (Instead of _wal or something like that wich I've already tried)
Also, the seed phrase could be a picture as someone has suggested?

Wich filename should have? It should be stored as well inside Electrum folder?

Feeling like there is something I could do!

Thanks guys!

In the process of creating a new wallet, there is a very important step. When you decide what type of wallet you want to create, the next step is to backup your seed. This step is required by Electrum to be able to proceed further with the creation of the wallet.

You need to note somewhere the 12 words seed displayed below in the correct order and then repeat them to confirm that you have backed them up.

That's why I told you that you may be saved the seed in a text file or took a picture. This, of course, is a bad securty practice.
