801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 10, 2023, 09:04:58 AM
^That's still far but I will be checking it out.

A title fight will happen this Saturday in Glendale, Arizona. 7 PM Eastern time.
Emanuel Navarrete versus Oscar Valdez - Title: WBO Junior Lightweight

Navarrete - 37-1-31(KO's) | 28 years old | 72" reach | Odds: 2.31
Valdez - 31-1-23 (KO's) | 32 years old | 66" reach | Odds: 1.60

I've read some analysis on why Valdez is the favorite. They say Valdez's Olympic amateur background will help a lot in this fight. But Navarrete is a volume puncher so if most of his punches will land, it will become problematic for Valdez trying to win the scorecard back.
I say it will also end in a unanimous decision or a split decision because fighters are actually good at their punching skills. Footwork and cardio might become a problem for the older fighter too. It's actually difficult to predict who will win despite the odds being far.

And because Valdez is known to be a technical fighter and that is the reason why they put him as the clear favorite. Navarette is known to be a volume puncher as you have said, however, he has a unorthodox style and maybe he will be caught by Valdez later for a knockout out win.

But the fight go of over 10 rounds, pure clash of styles and there are talks that this could be a FOTY candidate if it is really that good as two Mexican warriors going at it from round 1 to finished.
802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: August 07, 2023, 12:46:12 PM
But Jake says that his stamina is getting better as he has more fight. Obviously, his body is getting used to it. However, if he faces like a former boxer and not ex MMA, it could be a different story just like what happen to the Tommy Fury fight.

It is because he trains regularly. He isnt furry and fluffy kid in a gym anymore. In fact he is on a good level. He is not afraid to challenge more experienced guys. As to Tommy Fury, dont forget that Jake went full distance with him and managed to land few good punches. That is against a pro boxer. And lets not forget that Jake so far does not have a long amateur career like lots of professional boxers. If he had 30-50 amateur fights, like most professionals have, it would be a completely different fight against Tommy.

He just wanted to be a pure boxer, that's it, and making this exhibitions fight, makes his dream come true. So he trains as full pledge boxer and with that, he trains regularly and then improved everything. Not sure though if he is natural or not (but that is for another discussion).

As for as his next options goes, I like the rematch with Fury, for sure there is no love lost between the two and Jake wanted to avenge his lost. And next maybe KSI, another Youtuber if I'm not mistaken who started to come and be in this exhibition matches. In any case, both of this fights will bring millions again on the pocket of Jake Paul making him one of the best money maker in the last couple of years.
803  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why don't land-based casinos have an online version? on: August 07, 2023, 11:27:05 AM
I wonder why real or land based casinos are not offering a virtual or online version of their casino ( I never seen one yet). If they can afford to open a physical casino it seems easy for them to invest in a virtual one as well, possibly combining both to create an experience similar to what Evolution Gaming offers.
And if you are asking why i thought about this it’s simply because by doing it they can expand their business to reach and provide a more reliable and trustworthy platform for gamblers. Just recently we have seen unfortunate cases where online casinos have scammed users and disappeared with their deposits, often due to unknown teams and creators behind these platforms

During the pandemic, there was casino's at least in our place that you can play with them, online. I mean this is a traditional based casinos, but since they are close, they decided to have a online version of their casinos. How do I know? they send emails back then to their customers saying that you can still play with them, but the catch is that there is minimum deposit like $100 if my memory serves me right. Didn't play though, and waited till everything is normal.

But perhaps what they don't have to have their own online version is that it might be hard to maintain. You already have billions of dollars in land based casinos, so why complicated things and open a online version wherein there will be overhead cost and there are a lot of competitions specially from crypto based platform? Doesn't make sense in a business point of view.
804  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: August 07, 2023, 11:07:21 AM
If you are onto gambling for the first time it's not possible to get addicted to gambling because you haven't tasted what winning feels like, you will be consumed by doubts and uncertainty.

But wait till you have a taste, win some money, that's where you start feeling like there is more if you keep digging, is this not where gambling addiction starts?

We have had a lot of conversations about gambling addiction, but I had the same conversation with someone close yesterday and this was my answer to him.

Do you think its possible to become addicted to gambling when you haven't win a dime or after you win?

I think addiction starts after you win, even if it's just once, that's when you start gambling recklessly and you also start betting higher.

And if you won early, that's what we call "beginner's luck", and actually it's a curse, because ones you taste that feeling of winning big, you are going to look for more of that experience, the adrenaline and that's what makes you a gambling addict.

On the other hand, I also do believed that you can be addicted as well if you haven't won any yet. Why? It's because you want to come back for more, try to chase your lost and recoup everything.

So gambling is really very dangerous, as both losing and winning in the beginning will have a dire consequences in the end.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 07, 2023, 10:44:01 AM
Ricky Rubio announced his stepping out from professional activity to take care of his mental health. So, the World Cup is coming and he'll be out there for sure.

Does this means that it's possible that he's also going to be out of NBA and won't play for the Cavs when the regular season starts if he's not yet okay?

Nah, I don't think he'll give up his NBA career, it's a bit early for the 2019 FIBA MVP to give up this early. I mean that's his bread and butter right there and his passion as well. If he thought skipping the FIBA world cup could bring goodness to his career, pretty much everyone in the same shoe will do the same. It's also good for his mental health that the Spanish team respected his decision.
He should be more ready in the coming season so he won't lose but improve his value, otherwise he's going to disappear unnoticeably like the other role players in the NBA, since he's actually close to it after recovering from an injury he was struggling real hard when he have rejoined his team in the middle of the season.
Looks like that he's really going to give up the professional career that he's been with. Yes, it's his bread and butter but for how long he's been playing and working.

He's one of the youngest professional basketball player that I've seen. I even remember some of those moments when he's making the news for playing that young on FIBA.

He's got a lot of achievements already, if I'm him, I'll be fine with those and will take care of my mentality.
He may never return depending on the severity of his mental health. Wasn't Ben Simmons out for mental health for awhile? Hasn't been the same since.

In the case of Ben thought it was different, he suffered it when everything went sour, with the Sixers and himself because Ben was a different player in that season. He doesn't want to shoot and then perhaps there is already tension between him the coach and the players themselves.

As compare to Rubio, he was injured that season, so he never see some playing time. Perhaps he just wanted to gave away from the limelight of FIBA as he started very young then and chooses to stay and perhaps focus on his comeback in the NBA.
806  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hold coin on: August 06, 2023, 11:05:22 AM
[snip]

I think BTC broke his ATH in the year 2025 and make a new ATH on 100k what is your opinion?
The answer is Bitcoins. I like that you have tried to answer well why it should be Bitcoin. It's a coin that's always better to hold onto over the long term.

$100k new ATH price prediction and many will agree on that price. By the way, you don't look like a beginner anymore because your thinking is like a senior in providing Bitcoin price analysis.
How confident are you about the next ATH price because Standard Chartered has changed its Bitcoin price prediction from $100k to $120k next year.
I like your boldness in predicting Bitcoin price. Actually, a lot of factors,  including those you pointed out, also support your prediction. Even the Bitcoin halving of next year also support a new ATH.

Halving is the catalyst, and that's why we have 4 year cycle, bear and bull. For the bull run to happen, we might need to see the block halving, in April, and then after that, going to be a slow process and then at the end of 2024, the bull run is in full swing.

However, we should not forget that nothing is certain as regards to the market. The best we can do is to guess and this can be right or wrong. This is why it is advisable to invest wisely.

Of course, we don't know what the future holds, but if we look at the history of bitcoin, right after the halving, a bull run is imminent and eventually we are going to get to that. It's just what price will be our new all time high next bull run.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: August 06, 2023, 09:47:31 AM
Props to Nate's toughness as I thought he was going down in round 1. I didn't expect the fight to go to a decision after seeing that to be honest. It's pretty clear that Jake had the better footwork and boxing skills while Nate couldn't really change his MMA fighting style. Nate definitely had his moments and made it difficult for Jake. It's also funny how he tried the choke in the final round hehe.

Good fight overall.

Yeah, Nate has been known to be a tough fighter even when he was still in the UFC. He has also a good standing stance, I mean we have seen him spar with other boxers in the past so we know he can box.

Unfortunately, he needs to train his gas tank as well. Evidently in this fight, he can fight up standing, but overall his stamina is going to be depleted as the fight goes to distance. So yeah, it's a good fight to watch.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 06, 2023, 08:55:06 AM
Anyway, back to the discussion, Spence is already looking forward to contest the fight at 154 and so that is already safe to assume because he also said earlier this week that 147 lbs. division is not working for him anymore.

Good for him, but unfortunately, he might be able to face Crawford again, as the latter is also thinking of moving. So even if Spence will not activate that rematch, both are still going to face each other eventually if they beat the champions in that heavier division. Might as well, Spence would think smart. I mean, activating a rematch will guarantee money, and he just has to be confident he'll be able to even the rivalry between Crawford.

If Spence and his camp will aim to secure a bulk amount of money, taking that rematch will surely give him a huge benefit.

What do you mean? Spence has no title, he was defeated and for sure they know that. However, they could have settled what percentage of the split in the rematch clause and maybe it's the reason what Spence wanted it specially at 154 lbs because he knows he has a better chance.

I like that possibility that they might face each other again in a much heavier division, if that will take place
and Crawford beats Spence again. Then there's nothing to say but to admit that Crawford is far superior than
Spence thinks that he is, still waiting for any update regarding to what will be the next plan from both camps.

I think he has admitted that Crawford is the better man. But in the rematch, he will try to do his best and then settle the score 1-1 and if that happens then a trilogy is on the horizon. Meaning they need to settled the score and obviously there is more money for them in a 3 fight series.

Ricky Rubio is still young at 32 years old, (although I thought that he is a bit older). It's good that we here sports athletes citing mental health as a issues and it's concerning.

However, I also do agree that he won't simply retire because of that reasons, maybe he just nee to skip the World Cup and the pressures of playing for his country again. And he is coming from injury too and perhaps this contributed to his having a mental breakdown. Nevertheless, if he is still as competitive as he is, then he will continue to play in the NBA.

Working with your mental health needs deeper attention, if he chooses to take care of it and step away from the world cup

It's his decision to make and in terms of NBA career, I do hope that those who are surrounding him and helping him
with his health are really guiding him with whatever path he's trying to proceed. He's still young and there's still good
amount of money that he can take if he will continue playing with his Cavs team.

For sure, him coming out of the public, his NBA are going to help him whatever they can because as we have said, this is not just a simple issues. Every athlete has undergone some mental issues and they can't just cope with it if they are alone.

And with his NBA family around and supporting him, for sure it will be very much an easy path for him to recovery. As I have said, his still very young and at his prime and could play and contribute and can progress throughout his career.
810  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy Turns Profitable with Bitcoin and Plans for More Growth on: August 06, 2023, 08:19:22 AM
Pretty good news, but I think it glosses over the fact that this was a gamble. Speculation using company reserves, that, at one point, was in real danger of liquidation (even by his own admission). Don't be fooled into thinking this is ever a good strategy for any business to turn a profit from anything else other than what the business was meant to do.

And this is what the mindset of other CEO, this is gamble and they don't want to do is as what Michael Saylor does. Even Elon Musk have to liquidate something, although he has a excuse - but Twitter and needed some funds.

So for governments like El Salvador, it's really a risk and that's what the critics of Bukele to proved specially we are in the bear market. So in order for Saylor and his MicroStrategy to be profitable, he just have to wait for the next bull run and see how high it will go.
811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if USDT falls down? on: August 05, 2023, 09:04:50 PM
We know that USDT is coming back from the most horrific situations from the past. But I want you to answer this, what do you do if someday without any signs USDT falls back to 0.1-0.2$? What do you do? Can you survive in this situation? What do you do if you put all your assets in USDT?

Just curious to know your answer. Don't say reasons that it won't happens, because I want to know if something this kind of thing happens in future what will you do?

Of course it will put a dent on the market, as we all know stable coins are pegged 1:1 and we used it as hedge when the price is going down. And if the price of USDT is not pegged then it's going to be a concern for us as it will be very negative for investors. Not saying that the market will collapse, but there is a huge repercussions.

If you ask my replay to this, I can say I will ok with it. Because I put my 20% into USDT right now. Why? because you know guys there is an Old saying Never put your all eggs in the same basket.  Wink

So are you ok losing value when it goes like 1 USDT to .098$?

Obviously, your 20% is going down in value as well. And one more thing, USDT is not crypto that is used for investment, so your saying is not applicable here.

^^ Same here, I'll just see what will be the outcome, and I don't have any intention to bet on this fight either. Sure, the name of Nate Diaz still bring some hype because he was really a colorful individual when he was still with the UFC and had great matches.

But this is boxing, and Jake Paul has made a killing of this sports as he made a lot of money already winning fights and this will be the same case here. And I think the sports of boxing exhibitions are over, we are back the normal now. We do love to see some exhibitions, but we had some good boxing this year that we are done with this kind of fights as we are entertain with real boxers fighting each other.
814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there real sports bet groups on: August 05, 2023, 01:15:41 PM
~snip~
Another way of easy making money, trying to pretend that they are the one who are making the analysis but the truth is they are just buying subscriptions and make a good use of those shared predictions, if the pick wins then they will earn and with a good amount of winning picks or most of the time they will advertise more with the winning side and hide those fail bets, it's unavoidable that it will happen as there are many gamblers who will try to seek some edge to the point that they will resort it to a paying subscriptions and check for some luck that they will be paying for a profitable outcome, but still no assurance.
That's why if people want to subscribe to those betting signals, they have to be able to find groups that can analyze the game. But perhaps the subscription fees are more expensive than groups that only take other people's analysis because they really analyze thoroughly and carefully. And if the group is honest, they will also provide all the results of their analysis to the group members so that the members can see their analytical skills.

It's because you have to pay premium to those analysis as they might be in the sports business for years and that there prediction is after sought. Nevertheless, if we have followed our favorite sports then at some time we have the analytical skills as well. To look at the teams and the numbers and against their opponent and see what chances do they have.

And with that, I don't think we should pay premium to bet groups. They could be some of them that are more knowledgable in some sports. But still you can't discount the fact that there could be wrong most of the times.
815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The most worth watching Bitcoin movies on: August 05, 2023, 12:45:27 PM
There are a lot of movies about BITCOIN and cryptocurrencies but can you guys with more experience tell newbies like me what movies to watch to understand more about crypto and how to make money from this market?

If you are here to make money by trading and investing, then movies about bitcoin is not the thing for you. At least hollywood movies who might portray BTC in the wrong way like being used by criminals and the underground like dark market.

So should read books like this big list by @Ratimov here: Big Library of Bitcoin & Blockchain Books.
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 04, 2023, 09:07:34 PM
The dude just got a lose after a lose and then this, that's a lot of things for him to absorb and no one probably will remember this but her wife got also some beef with other guy, a beef not an affair.

So whatever is happening to him, I just wish him all the best and hopefully that he's able to overcome all of this. He still wants to fight and get some win before he fully retires.

We are all wishing him to get a win before he finally gets a goodbye to his pro career.

Yes, I've heard about that as well that Donaire's wife, Rachel, had a beef with the Donaire Sr. in the past or should I say still have it.

For what it's worth, hopefully there will be time that both of them will forgive each other and decides to put the past behind them as they approach the future. I know it's hard because nobody deserved to be in that position as that is literally painful and will surely take time before the wound will heal itself. I don't know what causes them to be in this situation but hopefully, they will find the peace soon.
I just can't remember if it was with his dad or some other guy.

But he's going through a lot and this makes me wanna see him to have another match and win it. So that if he decides to be convinced that could be his last fight, he's good to retire and forget all of those issues and problems that he's been in.

Especially on this one, a dad and son that has having a beef. This shouldn't be it but we don't know what culture they've been all together but hoping the best.

And I guess that's always been the case though? I mean when Nonito Jr got married to Rachel, that's where the problem started. Maybe the older Donaire or some of his family members doesn't like the woman that Nonito Jr get and then with Rachel tries and successfully meddle on Jr's boxing career, everything gets dirty with the father and son duo in boxing.

On other news, I read that Shakur is calling out Loma for fight. I think this is doable, it seems that Haney is going up in weight class. And so a Shakur vs Devin fight might not happen. So the best thing at 135 lbs right now is Loma vs Stevenson as they are both under Top Rank.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 04, 2023, 08:38:44 PM
I'm not sure if Miami will continue to try offering what they've got or like what you said, they will stay with Hero and try to develop
his skills for more competitive capabilities.

Future draft picks will be the biggest offering + Herro, it could be 5 or 6 but not sure if Heat is willing to give up that kind of huge players. So the only thing for us is to wait and see how everything will go down.

Pretty sure negotiations are ongoing and they are staying away from public exposure to avoid issues. IMO the Miami Heat should go all in on Lillard otherwise I have doubts about their ability to return to the finals or even in the eastern conference finals after giving up Max Strus and Gabe Vincent. They also let go of Victor Oladipo plus 2 future 2nd round draft picks to earn more cap space. The Miami Heat obviously lacked assets for direct trade with Portland, so they badly needed a team or even more to facilitate a Lillard trade.

Yes, that's why they might be thinking of developing Herro instead, because if they let go of him, then it will be a different Miami Heat team already with only their big 3, but less supporting cast that brought them to the NBA finals last year.

So again, future picks and then taking their chances against Lillard, it's going to be a huge decision for the Miami Heat right now. And yes, they might need a third team just to be able to commensurate this trade for Lillard.
818  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we rely on prediction? on: August 04, 2023, 08:25:51 PM
Those doing these predictions are having so much expectations and they said, Bitcoin will recover to $25k in 2024 and then rise to $45k in 2025 them by 2030 Bitcoin will get to $69k. Other crypto analysts suggest even higher price targets ranging from $100,000 to $1 million, but we should keep in mind that all Bitcoin forecasts are predictions. CLICK HERE

With all these being said I feel is time we face the reality that all these are just predictions, is under probability.
These are predictions and they are not always correct. I remembered watching a crypto channel video earlier this year on Youtube and the crypto guru did say that Bitcoin was going to get to the $40k market price between the middle of this year but it never happened. So I'm always unperturbed and I don't really care about what people say, I'm just hodling and waiting for the bull season. I think the persons that are more worried about the price movement are short term holders who depend on market sentiments to buy and sell.

And with that, if there is at least one youtuber who can predict the price and see the future then he should be a crypto millionaire by now. But it is not the case, this crypto guru is nothing but just like the rest of us here. They are just using the platform for clickbait and obviously to monetized their streams or channels. We can also to that, to make predictions, read the graphs and formulate our own numbers.

So I will suggest to just stay away from this kind of youtubers. Even here in our community, there are a lot of good analyst as well, who right their technical analysis, laid down everything. But still it might be right or wrong. That's why it's better if we are here for the long haul, to just buy and HODL.
819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Claressa Shields Vs. Keith Thurman?! on: August 04, 2023, 08:05:58 PM
She seems good alright but I really doubt she truly believes she could win the fight with no handicap. It makes me think that she's doing all these noise for clout or a better pay day. She's got nothing to lose here if Thurman signs the contract. If she loses then she can have all the gender excuse.

Maybe she should fight a transgender boxer first before challenging the men's top ranks.

Yes, but for those who are fighting for women's equality, having a handicap is not going to be fair right? And I also doubt that Thurman is going to sign the contract, he used to be one of the best welterweight prior to his injuries, but even that, he can still knockout someone with just one punch at the current batch of best 147 or even 154 lbs division fighters.

I know that Shields doesn't have competition and has wipe out his entire division and even a unified champion if I'm not mistaken. But she is asking too much here. It's better for her to just stay in the lane. Just give Savannah Marshall a rematch and I think it will still sell.
820  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrepreneurship and women on: August 04, 2023, 05:09:53 AM
More women in entrepreneur can really help to grow the economy. In some businesses, women are even more likely to do well than men. For example, a female barber in my street do make more sale than even the male. If ones country does not go against this..., I don't see any reason why more women shouldn't engage in businesses.

Women also have their role played in making business and they also contribute massively to enterprises, there's no complete business or enterprise without women directly or indirectly involved in it, they may not fit in many aspects but there are areas their role is needed to make a good impact for the experience needed, it is believed that there are particular areas in business where women's roles are particularly needed, such could be in advertisement, customer service or other businesses and enterprise where women are needed most, such could as well include a restaurant, fashion and other economical sectors their roles are very important.

When it comes to power and strength, mostly men will be dominant, but there are still women doing it, but only a few. But mostly, we noticed most of the business CEOs are women, meaning they are good at managing businesses and also small businesses in our local area, and I noticed most of them are women to help with family expenses. Roles are really important, like managing people, and you also need the right customer service as they are more persuasive and sweet at the same time.
the role of women is indeed currently equal to that of men, the placement of women in certain business sectors can be said to be more effective than men, one example is in the world of marketing where there are many women with good language skills and attractive appearance seem to be the main attraction to be able to sell a product. in my country the minister of finance comes from among women, and is indeed smart in terms of managing finances, having previously served at the world bank

Perhaps that is one area wherein women is the main attraction to attract customers. But I do says that there are areas as well the men are also good that women might not find that job easy.

But in any case, if we are talking about entrepreneurship, everything is equal. I mean my wife was able to go online selling during the pandemic and even up to now she is doing that kind of business.
