921  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help a newbie! on: September 24, 2023, 03:23:36 PM
I'm new to the forum and so far I'm beginning to understand the structure of the forum but my challenge is that I don't really have enough knowledge on crypto prior to now.
You're welcome to the club. That was same with me in 2017 when I stumbled on this forum. I knew next to nothing about cryptos but the story is different today. Though I can't say I'm very much conversant with the technicals, I know more than a bit to keep me safe in this space. You can do better than I'm already doing with time. However, the whole thing depends on you, not on any random guy here. Roll up your sleeves and get to work. Research is your best bet to growing fast in this industry.

I have done a bit of research on YouTube but the information their is a bit confusing as it's more theoretical and I doubt the once I have seen is updated lately.
Yes, I agree with you that YouTube can be confusing to source learning materials from because of the numerous materials there. You're likely not going to know where to search or who to follow there at once. For me, I don't just hop on YouTube to watch people teach. I follow these people from other social media sites (especially, Facebook) to their YouTube channels. First, I monitor whatever stuff they're trying to put out there. If they're good at it and have a YouTube channel I connect with them. That way, I know what I'm looking for and how to get them.
922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto Trading is difficult for you? on: September 23, 2023, 04:10:10 PM
Naturally this could help for someone people but to me I see no reason one should used a bot for trading what if the bot malfunction what would be their benefits and what solution would you offer to those who starts making use of the bot after incuring huge lost with little technical issues on the bot.
Just ignore the OP. They've been spamming the forum upon registration with their portended services. Here's a classical example why it was canvassed some time ago that newbies shouldn't be allowed to post in certain boards. It's obvious OP is only keen on luring users to their social media platforms rather than prove the potency of their trading acumen to us here. OP forgot that the only way they can get anyone's attention is if they actually put up results over time for all to see before attempting to lure them out of here. Nothing convinces more convincingly like results.
923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hate speech and it impacts on bitcoin on: September 23, 2023, 03:39:26 PM
So with their view on it they see bitcoin users as scapegoat, criminals and money laundering...
It's their view, anyone is at liberty to munch at whatever crosses their minds; so to say. It's not what we think that becomes the issue but what action we take towards it (to cause bodily harm) that's. It's the same way those anti-Bitcoinists attack Bitcoin that the pro-Bitcoinists promote it and then condemn anything altcoin. I've read posts here completely condemning altcoins even when it's glaring that there are certain altcoins which have helped push the narrative of this industry.

I know how annoying it's when we get to read dissecting views on stuff we see as treasure. However, in getting annoyed we should also remember that there will always be others on the other side of the divide/our rationale. Yes, I agree that there's bad press but I'm also certain that if the negative inclination of the press on Bitcoin didn't destroy it in its nascent stage, it can't now. We just have to keep a positive mind on Bitcoin and not be bothered about whatever negative thoughts others have of it. Some will agree with our views now while others will come around it with time. Everyone has their time of awareness. That's the way I see it.
924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gives the poor an Opportunity. on: September 23, 2023, 03:03:45 PM
Every other investment I know requires you to have a lot of money before you can make a reasonable profit.
The most popular forms of investment are stock trading and real estate and it's quite expensive to go into.
For you to buy these shares and make a good profit you have to have thousands to tens of thousands of dollars.
Let's not be blinded by sentiment, it's the same thing with Bitcoin. You don't expect to make a fortune out of Bitcoin with your $20, $200 invested into it. In the past, that's the early days of Bitcoin, one could achieve that. Today, it's not that way. One needs to invest enough to gain something appreciable. Otherwise, it's the same way with stocks and real estate you alluded to that aren't profitable without substantial capital thrown into them.
925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Earnings on: September 23, 2023, 02:41:24 PM
I am a newbie in bitcoin I want to learn a lot about bitcoin I want to do marketing and trading with bitcoin if any of you are expert or if someone is more skilled please give me some suggestion so that I can do something good and my future is good.
OP, let me give you an advice of mine. Whenever you seek to learn something, seek the knowledge on YouTube. Everything tutorial you want can be found on YouTube. There are people who've already encountered whatever you're confronted with and made videos elucidating them, borrow from their experience and learn. It's better that way han asking users here who may not have that time to indulge you on what you want as speedily as you may want it.
926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Satoshi have known? on: September 23, 2023, 01:44:12 PM
Instead of focusing on Bitcoin use cases, we are more interested in making money from them.
It's not that we don't concentrate on the use cases of Bitcoin too, it's just that what seems to be driving its value and price isn't its usecases. It's its speculative part – the asset part of Bitcoin. People will naturally go where the honey (money) is and that's why people see or evaluate Bitcoin as something they can invest in and get a nice ROI.

So Satoshi knew what he was doing and i am not sure he created bitcoin for only peer to peer purposes only despite he mission was to make payment system easily as possible but he also knew that in time to come people could finds more valuable aspect of bitcoin.
Yes, he knew what he was doing while he was creating it but didn't know to what extent that creation of his would go. Again, basically, Satoshi created Bitcoin for P2P; not for asset speculation which Bitcoin has more become of. We can argue this for all we want but that's what it's now.

~
The real question is: what difference would that have made if he knew that? Could he have designed bitcoin in a different way to prevent volatility? The answer is no, it would not have made any difference and the design would have been the same. So knowing or not knowing it is not important.
I think it will have made a difference if Satoshi knew Bitcoin would take this turn and drawn this level of unbelievable attention. I'm sure he would've tweaked the supply to more than what it's, among other things.
927  Other / Meta / Re: question on: September 22, 2023, 05:06:45 PM
is it ok to advertise link to faucets or other platforms to earn some satoshi ?
Faucets are a waste of precious time now. They worked in the past and those who got involved in them cashed out nicely. In today's world, it's modern slavery. I will be perplexed if you get a meagre of attention on that here as it were.
928  Economy / Economics / Re: Small Scale Business Ideas on: September 22, 2023, 03:48:57 PM
How do you find capital for investment?
That would depend on individuals, of course. The last place I want to go get capital (whether for investment or anything else) if I can't raise it myself, is the bank. I hate those loan sharks. They're worse than Shakespeare's Shylock as portrayed in The Merchant of Venice in today's reality. Yes, I know that some people's first place of call to raise cash is the bank while it's a no-no for me. Different strokes for different folks.

Do you have a small business idea? or business experience? I want to hear it
You should try poultry business. Do both meat (broilers) and egg chickens (laying birds) and then make your pick between the two to emphasize your choice if you've to pick one of them. You can do both if you've the capacity, anyway. Start small in a rented apartment and then grow it from there. That's for offline investment. If you want to go online, consider trading – Cryptos, FX, Indexes, and Stocks.

As you have said, if these policies are looked into, the naira would gain more value as foreign countries would be eager to purchase our local produce with our currency which is a good idea and a welcome development.
The people in government sabi wetin dem go do to make owa country great again but dem nor go like do am because e go spoil dem pocket money to dey chop us dey go. As exchange rate dey high, e dey benefit many of dem because most of dem get one business of d other outside Naija and dem dey earn in foreign currencies. So, d more d naira dey fall d better for dem earning power. E just be like we all dey here and dey get campaigns. On a weekly, owa kishi dey rise but d good ones among us wey get conscience nor go still like make e continue dey climb up because of many others wey e go dey affect negatively. Those without conscience nor send.

So, for dem mind na to redenominate d naira go make am compete with the US dollar, ba? Jokers. Instead of this government to find ways of creating export, they're there talking about irrelevant stuff. Create export of owa goods and services and people go need d naira to pay for them. Dat way, the naira will be strengthened and in high demand.
933  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If your into crypto you should also attend events if you can here is why on: September 19, 2023, 11:16:02 PM
note: Be careful going to event who always ask for fee's people who are just using crypto to earn from fee's to enter their event where you learn nothing, this were organized by unknown people, pretending to know bitcoin etc.
This type is "the salesman". They specialize in marketing indicators and any other stuff that will make it look like they're into cryptos. They can't trade in the market and be profitable. That's why they're selling stuff to make it look like they've something to offer. Those who are new in cryptos but are desperate to hit it big are likely the ones to fall for this type of setting. To avoid getting scammed, newbies should avoid any meetup asking them to part with money in whatever form.

As for meetups, it should be a personal decision to make. Nobody should pressure anyone into it. There are people who can still cope without being out there in a group, although I believe that an isolated tree can't make a forest on its own. Humans need one another to grow faster in knowledge and what have you. Notably, those who cherish their privacy and anonymity shouldn't be made to look like not being out there is a bad thing. Everyone deserves the space they get.
934  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm ready to learn crypto on: September 19, 2023, 10:45:19 PM
Why newbies are more afraid of bear market than senior crypto users? Is it because they don't know that bull market will come up
But of course, they don't know what's to come and the difference lies in the two mindsets and the miles apart in experience that comes with age and exposure. My first year here caused me a great deal of panic. Whenever I noticed price was heading down south, I would be anxious and greatly troubled. Fast forward to today's reality, I just grab a popcorn and chill to watch what happens next.

The same way I panicked years ago will be the way these new members here will panic until they learn. We know what the Bitcoin circle is now and how to go round it without getting conspicuously wounded. So, you can say it's inexperience that makes old members not fret while new members are thrown into panic over bear rally.
935  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The best way to use fingerprint to unlock your bitcoin wallet on Android on: September 19, 2023, 07:25:37 PM
Only enable pin or password unlock on your bitcoin wallet. Do not enable fingerprint because it will override your pin or password unlock and that is bad for your security because it makes your wallet not secure.
I use both (password & fingerprint) on my wallet and I haven't had any issues with such till date. What I'm reluctant to use is facelock and I've my reason for that. The fingerprint feature saves me the stress of hiding my phone from people in order to open it. All I do is stylishly slide my hand to the back of my phone and it's done, and I'm able to access my wallet. Anyone using the fingerprint option should enndeavour to have a manual password in addition to others. Sometimes, shit can happen and the finger goes numb, the phone not being able to read and grant access to the device.

The way you sniff out these things is something I can't comprehend, frankly. I wonder if people are still going to look at the proposed project with the same eye as they did before realizing it wasn't an original attempt. It's sad how project teams like pulling the wool on others. AI contents are becoming too rampart this day to the point that we hardly know when AI posts and when humans post too. People easily relapse to getting AI content instead of wracking their brains to prepare something genuine.
937  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another reason and proof to keep funds in your wallet not in an exchange on: September 19, 2023, 12:24:49 PM
Earlier there is a news that Coinex have been hack, where the hacker transfer and drain the wallet, with ETH, Polygon, Tron etc, i think this is the first time this exchange has been hack, i say i have coins there but no value, but if you have lots of eth and others thats is a major concern, since we don't know if they can refund the loses.
I know it's not a wise thing to hodl coins on an exchange, especially for the traders amongst us. It's for the ease and convince in assessing them that make traders and investors leave them on exchanges. When we take out time to lampoon those who fall victim to exchange hacks, we should also state it clearly that even personal wallets do also get hacked. So, there's no fool proof to all of this. Just caution, that's what should be the watch word in this crypto space. Since this is the first hack Coinex is experiencing, I don't think it will batter its imagine that badly. It will shake it off.
938  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: KYC matter? on: September 19, 2023, 09:49:39 AM
...if they are not asking for KYC they are clearly stating that they do not care about governments and their laws, that's the most important part.
Sorry, I don't see it that way. What I see boldly written, though succinctly, on such action is the underlying selfishness of these exchanges to psychologically sap their customers by making them think they're not KYCing upon registration. They tell them that they want to safeguard their privacy that's why they aren't asking for it. That's not true. What these exchanges do is trick their customers in and later reveal to them that they've to do a KYC to upgrade their status to enjoy certain privileges on the site. These privileges will include, among other things, withdrawal limit extension. For me, I won't choose an exchange based on whether it demands a KYC or not. I check other vitals.
939  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Merit] I want to give total 8 merits Newbie to Member {follow instructions } on: September 18, 2023, 11:56:51 PM
I have just 8 smerit which i want giving Newbie, jr member and member for there rank up.
You're either just being overtly ambitious or futuristic, which is it? BPIP data doesn't show you've even the eight merit you brandished you would give out.

What’s the essence of creating a post for sharing 8 merits when a single user already is entiltled to 3 merits from 8 of your smerit that means only 3 three members will benefit from this thread. There is no need to create a thread with such low smerit.
You can imagine the futility in OP's act. It's already defeated.
940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is only Bitcoin and nothing else on: September 18, 2023, 11:17:11 PM
I know there are other who would have similar experience too and there are still others caught up in the euphoria of getting rich through one token or the other. Well, if it is not Bitcoin, it is not worth holding.
This is why nothing equates experience. It humbles us. One with experience is wiser than one without it. I remember that year I came into this industry and was full of hope and excitement of easily hitting a goldmine. Well, the goldmine almost happened for me if not that I continually shifted the threshold each time I was close to target. Greed did me in many times as I wouldn't sell off. Was always expecting more, thinking of turning a $100 investment to $2,000,000 just like that. Most of those tokens dipped beyond recovery, and thereafter died off. Many of them should be in my Imtoken wallet (that was the most popular ERC enabled wallet then), bag holding them.

Yes, I agree with you that Bitcoin is the surest of all the cryptos to buy. However, make sure not to buy it during the bull season if you're to hodl. Now is the right time to buy Bitcoin for anyone desiring it. The next good time to buy after this year will be in 2026. Next year is halving and that's possibly going to push it into a rally for a fresh ATH (expectedly in 2025).
