Another surprise is coming from manchester city. The impressive performance from ferguson has been attracting manchester city to come and chase him as a partner for haaland. Manchester city sees him as one of the potential striker.
Whenever a player starts to impress, rumors begin to spread that the big clubs are interested in signing the player, even when such rumors might not be true. The big clubs keep track of a quite a lot of players, it does not mean they want to sign them all. Ferguson has been impressive lately, and it will take quite a lot of money for Brighton to sell him to City, and we know that City usually walk away from signing players who are overvalued by their clubs, they walked away from siging Cucurella when Brighton were asking for too much money and that might be the case here as well (if they are truly interested).
942  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is safest wallet for bitcoin long term holding? on: September 06, 2023, 08:14:03 AM
So my question is, apart from electrum wallet which other wallet is the safest for long term holding of bitcoin?.
Electrum is a hot wallet, so if you are using electrum default hot wallet, then it isn't safe for long term holding. The safest wallet for hodling Bitcoin for the long term is wallets that are offline, wallets like hardware wallets or air-gapped wallets (of which you can create with electrum).
With the current reduction of price in Bitcoin, is it the best time to buy bitcoin or should I still wait for the dip?.
DYOR. I think we are already in the dip and Bitcoin might not fall much lower than it is right now before the next bull run begins, so now seems a good time to buy Bitcoin for a cheaper price.

The amount of money Barcelona spent in this transfer window is unbelievable because they just spent 3.4 million euros for the players they bought and this summer they hired players like João Cancelo and İlkay Gündoğan while Barcelona didn't spend anything and just for hiring Oriol Romeu from Girona they spent 3.4m which is amazing while Real Madrid spent 130 million euro.
Barcelona are in a financial crisis, thus it is normal that they limit their spending as much as they can, right now you cannot compare Real Madrid and Barcelona in terms of finances, Real Madrid obviously have more money to spend. Barcelona had to get players on loan (Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix) and free transfer (Ilkay Gundogan) this season, and only spent next to nothing to sign Oriol Romeu. Despite all these, i think Barcelona has a strong squad that can at least compete and prolly win the Spanish Laliga again, but they definitely stand no chance in the CL.

But their anonymity is not absolute as your transaction is saved in the public ledger and every person can track you easily through this.
Mind you that it isn't easy for just any person to track you using the blockchain, yes the government and blockchain analysis corporations might be able to track you because they collect/request data/KYC from centralized exchanges and other custodial services that the person's coins have touched, but it is impossible for just anyone to get/request this data, so it is practically easy to hide from "ordinary" persons.

How can a new project produced by a multi-person team be decentralized? It is not possible since we have a conflict of interest that could lead to problems within the team.
That is not an accurate way to determine if a project is decentralized or not, you don't even know if Satoshi is just a single person, or a group of 5 people, you don't know how many persons were involved in creating Bitcoin. A project can be created by one person and be centralized, the same way a project can be created by 20 people and be decentralized.

A project is centralized when its users can be censored by the creators, like Binance, another way to identify a centralized project is if it can be shut down by those who created it or by a different entity, like Coinbase. There are many other examples, and decentralized projects like Bitcoin are immune to all of these, because even Satoshi cannot shut down the network or censor any user.

Chelsea do not learn from mistakes, the quality of Chelsea's players is good, young, talented, but the experience of players is more important than young players nowadays. I also don't expect too much from Chelsea this season to get into the top four at the end of the season.
Chelsea's problems stem from their hierarchy, Chelsea under Todd Boehly play like a disorganized team and the management are making too many bad decisions, Mauricio Pochettino is a great coach, but i think Todd Boehly should have signed Luis Enrique, he was eager to get the job, and i was surprised that the deal fell through at the last moment.

Having said that, it is not all about buying players, you need to get the right players and also manage them very well; Chelsea are buying too many players that they don't need, they are not addressing the actual areas that the team is lacking and even if the season just started, it looks like they won't be in any title race, but a top four race.
947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 04, 2023, 09:56:19 PM
This is a bad take, and i disagree. The officiating in the English Premier League has been awful this season; including VAR Decisions (Which is supposed to be better). Fans, Sports channel and skysport championing this bad officiating will only lead to more of such. The beauty of the EPL meanwhile is that poor VAR decisions will touch every team in the league; no one is escaping that.
Quite rightly there have been too many mistakes from refs thus far this season, in general officiating hasn't been at its best and VAR have also missed obvious errors that they should have corrected, like for example City's second goal against Fulham should have been chalked off; but i disagree that Manchester United lost to Arsenal due to poor officiating, the decisions the ref and VAR took in that game were correct imo and Arsenal won because they were the better team.
948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 04, 2023, 04:14:27 PM
Chelsea have spent a lot of money so far since the beginning of the summer transfer window. But for now there is no big difference than the previous season when it comes to their performance.
Quite a lot of football fans erroneously believe that spending a lot of money is the only prerequisite to success, i hope they can learn from Chelsea's situation that it is not so, of course spending money is important, but you have to get the right players, and not only that, the club must be managed in the right way, from both the manager and those at the club hierarchy.

Chelsea look like a disorganized club ever since Abramovich left, the new owners right now don't understand a thing about football and i'm afraid i don't see Chelsea's position improving anytime soon, they are about to have another bad season.
949  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Bitcoin really risky as they say? on: September 04, 2023, 01:31:24 PM
I don't understand your opinion on why Bitcoin should not be considered as an investment. This changes nothing from the fact that it is a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. I also believe that considering Bitcoin as an investment is one of the most important factors helping to spread it and increase the adoption of its use, whether by individuals or companies that provide investment services.
Bitcoin can be considered as 'anything' by the owner of the coins, either a hedge, a currency or an investment, but the creator of Bitcoin designed it to be electronic cash, i don't think speculation was on Satoshi's mind when he created Bitcoin, so it isn't wrong if one says that Bitcoin should be identified solely as electronic cash in their opinion.

Having said that, Bitcoin doesn't have to serve only a singular purpose, since people have found other use cases for the coin, and all of them together has helped it grow to this level, then i can have no complaint. Bitcoin can be a currency, investment, hedge and many more, thus it is up to the individual to see/use it how they want.

Al Ittihad are preparing another offer like 200 million pounds for Salah. While the end of the transfer window for Saudi Arabia teams is closing Al Ittihad want to go all in for this transfer. However it doesn't look like they will be able to convince Liverpool. Because Liverpool don't care about money at the moment.
Liverpool can't sell Salah now because the transfer window in England is closed and they would be unable to replace him, losing Salah without a replacement would mean Liverpool are going to have a horrible season, and they can't afford to have that after their failures last season. Al Ittihad should forget about Mo Salah for now and come back next summer, they would prolly get him then because he would have just one year left on his current contract and he would be 32 years old then, so Liverpool wouldn't mind selling him for the right price.
951  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Bitcoin really risky as they say? on: September 03, 2023, 08:26:28 PM
Being your own bank is somewhat risky and it requires quite a lot of responsibility, Bitcoin is risky because not everyone can safeguard the keys to their funds, this is a reason why quite a lot of people shy away from Bitcoin, they want the responsibility of their money to remain with the banks because they cannot handle that responsibility.

Having said that, Bitcoin as an investment has the risk of volatility, but the risk of Bitcoin as a currency is what i just wrote above, Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, so people know that if their Bitcoins gets lost, they cannot get it back, and this is part of the risk of being your own bank, if we agree that Bitcoin was created most importantly as a currency, this is the risk that its users have to bear.
952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 03, 2023, 08:04:06 PM
From my perspective, The referee was not fair to Manchester United in this match, looks like the whole game was just programmed in favor of Arsenal because I wonder why such an amount of time was given when there were no serious injuries sustained during the game, even though Arsenal had a late come but the ref was not fair in his officiating of the game, hence Mutd would have become the victors of that match.
The officiating was good today, even when the ref made an error in giving Arsenal a penalty, VAR stepped in to make sure the correct decision was made, i watched the game and i don't think anyone should be complaining about the officiating, Garnacho's goals was also rightly chalked off for offside.

I don't know if you've been following the EPL this season, but the rules as regards added time has changed, there will be more additional time from now going forward as the refs will add up any time at all wasted, we've been seeing so much time added on in first and second half additional time in so many games, so there's nothing to moan about there.

I believe most of us dey save in Bitcoin but if you don keep your Bitcoin holding for a while and e come accrue to something meaningful, you no go sell am? Which currency you go convert am to... Fiat, stablecoin or altcoin?
If your Bitcoin accrue ROI and you wan sell am, e no make sense to sell out all of it, if you wan take profit, then nothing dey bad to convert your profit to either stable coin or to fiat. If me i wan collect profit, i dey convert to fiat wey i go use take tidy one or two things based on real life issues, still get the one wey i go use hodl body for daily spending, but the thing be say i go still hodl >50% of my stash for Bitcoin.

Wetin i no go advise person to do na to hodl all of their money for stable coins, or to hodl their money for stable coins for a long time, you fit dey use stable coins dey hodl some of your funds for short term and stable coins also dey useful for day-traders, but make person no trust am as long term solution to crypto volatility and fiat inflation.

Keep in mind even if the market ends today in many countries, the teams still can sell or loan players to the Arabian League until the 15th of this month.

So it is not over if they will come with a ton of money.
That is correct, but clubs would be unwilling to sell their important players to Saudi teams when they cannot buy a replacement for them, i think this is one of the main reason why Liverpool cannot sell Mo Salah now depsite the money that the Saudi team are offering them, if they had come with this amount of money earlier in the transfer window, i'm pretty sure Liverpool would have had a serious thought about selling Mo Salah, considering his age and the time left in his current contract.
955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 01, 2023, 05:18:59 PM
I don't like Pochettino's coaching style. He likes buying already-established players. I will not be wrong if I assume that he depends on big names to win trophies. I am more comfortable with coaches that build young players. Coaches that groom unknown players to superstars are the best in the world.
Pochettino is a great coach who loves to play pure attacking football, he of course didn't win any trophies in Tottenham, neither did the club have the money to buy "already eatablished players" like you say, Pochettino did so well to play good football with the players at his disposal when he was in Spurs.

Having said that, Poch won trophies in PSG and that's all the trophies that he has won, mind you that most of the transfers that take place in PSG is done solely by the club, without even the managers consent, and that's the same thing happening in Chelsea now, Todd Boehly is just buying players left, right and center, none of them have been players that the manager identified himself. Chelsea are doing crazy business right now, hiring too many players, many of which they don't even need.
956  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Despite the warning, Nigeria, Africa like stable coins on: September 01, 2023, 04:01:08 PM
I am not exactly sure if BUSD is popular in Nigeria, i think the stable coins that Nigerians use the most has to be USDT, but nonetheless, if you hodl BUSD, it is better you trade them for Bitcoin.

Having said that, i don't think many people understand the risks with stable coins, Bitcoin might not be stable, but if you're a long term investor who wouldn't be needing your money anytime soon, it's better you save your money in Bitcoin, you'll have control over it and your funds can also accrue ROI. Well, stable coins are issued by centralized corporations and these stable coins can lose their peg; they can also be frozen in any wallet you store them. If you are not an active trader, stable coins might not be a good option for you to hodl a huge amount of your funds.

Cole Palmer will not leaving Manchester City because he's young and there's a time he will play as starting line up because Manchester City don't have a lot players. Currently  Alvarez is replacing De Bruyne's position, what if one of Foden or Grealish is injured? there's no player anymore except midfielder. Doku and Palmer will become a substitute player for such bad case happen.
I'm afraid Cole Palmer has already completed a £45m move from Manchester City to Chelsea, thus Cole Palmer is now a new Chelsea player, i don't know why Chelsea have made this signing, especially for that price, i know Cole Palmer is quite young, but Chelsea already have enough attackers, and imo they have been buying too many players lately, they actually need to stop and assess their transfer business.

In another news, City have completed the signing of Matheus Nunes from Wolves, Pep has been an admirer of this player for sometime now and he even called him one of the best players in the world a few years ago, with KDB injured, City needed more cover in midfield, and now they have Matheus in their team, Pep likes to work with a really small squad so i guess their transfer business should be over now.
958  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 31, 2023, 10:17:59 PM
Therefore after this season we can really see him signing for a Saudi Arabia team. It would be really sensible for Liverpool to sell him like that while they can make a lot of money from his transfer fee. Saudi Arabia teams are already eager to splurge on these stars.
The amount of money that these Saudi teams are ready to spend is absolutely ridiculous, they don't even mind that they are spending this money on players that are above 30 years of age, i'm pretty sure if Liverpool had a competent replacement for Mo Salah, they would have sold him to this Saudi team and made quite a lot of money, but they can't sell Salah right now, or else they'll have another terrible season like last season.

Having said that, we can't really be sure if they'll come for Salah next summer, it all depends on a number of factors; it'd be interesting to see how far the Saudi league will come by next summer, they have great stars in the league right now, they should have a very competitive season ahead.
959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 31, 2023, 08:59:59 PM
However, we are not seeing a better performance from Haaland this season. De Bruyne is also injured. Silva also missed several matches due to injury. I think Manchester City's performance will be stronger if De Bruyne returns to the squad. Haaland's chemistry with De Bruyne is also excellent. So it is expected that if De Bruyne returns to the squad, Haaland's performance will improve even more.
Any striker in the world would definitely love to have KDB in their team, the chances of scoring goals will be higher because KDB is one of the most creative footballers in the world, but i don't agree with you when you say Haaland isn't performing well this season, i mean, he has scored three goals in three games; that's definitely a very good start.

Mind you that it would almost be impossible for Haaland to replicate his form of last season, thus it might be unfair if people continually judge him based on his performance last season, as long as he is scoring goals and helping the team to win, that's all that matters.
960  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Avoid auto save of passwords online on: August 31, 2023, 03:20:46 PM
I have all of my passwords saved in my Google cloud; I realise this is risky, but it's the only way I can remember some of the passwords I use because I use various passwords on different sites.
Then write them down in a book or something, it is definitely better than saving your passwords in the cloud where it can be compromised, writing it down is prolly the best approach since you have a lot of passwords, or you use an open source password manager like KeePass.
I do not change password regularly, but it is not risky.
It is not risky per se, but it is not necessary and it makes the user more prone to making a costly mistake imo.
