961  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arbitrage on GitHub: ~2% monthly return, market-neutral long/short on: October 30, 2015, 11:28:11 PM
Hello Butor,

Thanks for sharing this software, it´s great idea how to trade BTC right now. I was trying to install and launch it through Ubuntu but I wasn´t successful. After typing "make" this message occurs:

src/bitfinex.cpp: In function ‘bool Bitfinex::isOrderComplete(CURL*, Parameters, int)’:
src/bitfinex.cpp:91:73: error: ‘json_boolean_value’ was not declared in this scope
   bool isComplete = !json_boolean_value(json_object_get(root, "is_live"));

Could anybody advice me what to do? I would really appreciate it as I am interested in this project and not really good Linux user.

Thanks in advance.

Install lib Jansson  that should fix the issue.
Code:
apt-get install libjansson-dev
Let me know if it persists.

Blockchain is dead........ Tongue

Discussed this with deadlock1 earlier today, I think he said he was in contact with fallingknife about it. I was trying to help him set up mining, didn't start my proxy up because I didn't want to cause chain problems until this mess is sorted out.

Speaking of "Surge," Coca Cola just fully brought back Surge cola recently! I'm so stoked about it. Picked up a few cans earlier.

ho-ly-shit

i don't know if this is amazing or terrible news.  i was ADDICTED to that stuff in the 90's

That stuff fueled my college years for sure. Someone sells it for UNO or BTC I will order a case. Grin
964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HAM - HamRadioCoin - SHA 256 - Crypto on the radio! Official Thread on: October 28, 2015, 04:56:10 PM
I am lousy at IRC, but I will pop in here sometimes, and see how things go.

My mob -- 'IndiaMikeZulu,' an alliance of coiners -- is changing its focus just a little, having a look around. (Bought a tiny pinch of HAM today, but will have to consider if I can cram one more qt on my laptop.)

(Sigh, it sounds a bit trollish -- but true: I was a radio operator in airborne infantry in the late 70's. If nothing else, I got to see an enormous amount of Australia. On foot. Carrying a 'PRC-10' with the b@#%^y 10-foot antenna.)

Mark

@IMZ Mark - hamradiocoin also has a ultra-sweet Android wallet if you have such a device. I don't personally use QT wallets ( I prefer the daemons/servers only) but it may be an additional option to consider.

At any rate do feel free to visit us in chat sometime and get some free HAM during rains or on cryptopia. If you have IRC troubles, feel free to PM me and I will link you to a web-based client so you can connect easily. I'm not a big fan of the cryptocat route some of the UNO guys are using. Kinda messy and insecure.  Undecided

Appears to work on my droid as well .... will test it further later today. Phoeynix had some issues with the claiming of tips on her website, I will try and help her get that sorted when she comes back online. Cool
Yeah, droid! We could easily bundle the miniWallet to become an app for Android. Meanwhile you can bookmark https://coinawesome.com/walletFrame to have only the miniWallet as a mobile friendly website.

And sorry for the issues with the claiming. Realized that we broke something after migrating the servers the last time. Should be fixed soon!

Is there a way I can generate url's that anyone can claim, say the first person to click can claim? We have an idea of using this on a tipping site inside a chat. I did get CoinAwesome to work with an IRC style tipbot, but I believe Phoeynix is looking for something that will work inside a php environment - the user receives a link in a private message at random intervals and can claim the coins by clicking the link and maybe viewing a CoinAwesome sponsored ad or something. tbh I haven't got to discuss it in great detail with her, she is quite the busy woman but this is the platform I feel that will do what we are looking to accomplish.

Just deployed the CoinAwesome miniWallet with FireFox Support!

The miniWallet is a little wallet inside https://planetawesome.org and https://coinawesome.com and works with Firefox and Chrome and maybe even IE and Opera (if somebody wants to test). It supports sending to URLs (upvoting) as well as to AWE addresses.

Check out https://PlanetAwesome.org

Next steps will include to make the 'awesome-button' work with the new miniWallet - to be able to log in once at CoinAwesome.com and use the wallet on every website!

Support the development of the AWESOME platform and buy some AWE at BleuTrade: https://bleutrade.com/exchange/AWE/DOGE . Some pretty cheap AWE for DOGE available right now.

Thank you vegasguy for your kind PM ... I have been rather swamped today so I apologize for the late reply.

I'll be completely honest, I am very new to the X11 coins, my main focus is on SHA-256 coins and security - I am mainly a linux dev. This project does look very interesting so I will keep an eye on it certainly! What are the features and goals the community would like to see?

It is very impressive you guys have a stable value on the coin, this is quite a rarity for sure. I don't spend a lot of time on the exchange side of things, I prefer brokers to do the heavy lifting for me in that regard. If there is a good investment opportunity I will be glad to look into this as well.

Everyone here knows my adage: "If it ain't broke, why fix it?" SHA-256 coins already have a rich amount of cryptographical features that are underused.
969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: October 27, 2015, 10:52:50 AM
What would you suggest deadlock?
Whose got the best innovation going in crypto today?

The best innovation would be clearly the Atomic Cross Chain Trading  (not yet implemented!)

I mean especially the part 2:

Quote
2.) Solution using specialized altchain
The previously mentioned approach can be used directly to trade between bitcoin-derived chains without special support on the side of protocol. The obvious disadvantage is nLockTime - if counterparty does not go through the trade, our funds are locked and cannot used in another trade for the duration of timeout. Additionaly, it depends on transaction replacement which may, or may not be considered standard under current bitcoin protocol rules.
Another proposal of cross-chain p2ptrade is to use specialized altchain with properties for efficient operation of p2ptrade from bitcoin chain. Additionaly, we use only single standard bitcoin transaction which looks exactly the same as normal payment (no nlocktime, no multisig, no special script).
Assuming the altchain has actual economic value to support it, it can even serve as proxy for (relatively) efficient zero-trust p2p market between fe. BTC and LTC thanks to arbitraging market makers.

Part 1 is with contracts, that's the way Ether etc. go! Means they "try".

This has some disadvantages.
- nLockTime
- other unwanted dependencies

Other coins could go way 2 , as explained, to get advanced position.

So the way 2 is better and superior!

Can you elaborate on why you do not wish to see any multisig solutions? While a bit difficult to manage in it's current state, multisig has solved some trust issues for a few customers of mine albeit under a very specific set of circumstances.

nLockTime has it's own set of issues, but I can see it being a hinderance to what you are looking for.

Finally doing a little more research on this crypto (because Siameze works here). Birthday next month!?

Any Australians here?

Mark (IndiaMikeZulu), Australia

The only cryptocoin ( aside from BTC ) that can be sent over radio waves. They even have a faucet for it: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/27265-1st-real-ham-faucet-via-radio/

I'll let garmin chime in to answer your question if there are any Australians here - I have met people from all over in this community, HAMs are a very tight group that always seem to pull together to help each other out. Couple of posts back I recall one of their members lost his antenna to a storm, community pulled together and got him back up and running in no time.

Disaster strikes and I need a way to transmit funds quickly and reliably I'm gonna go with hamradiocoin.  Cool
971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: October 26, 2015, 11:41:12 AM
Thinking on it .
But rather avoid the burn route.
Wondering about a 1:1 exchange-able asset that trusted community members can manage.

An already proven system exists for managing an asset (Besides NXT which is kinda clunky imo) https://docs.openchain.org/en/latest/

I was curious as to what sort of asset, etc. you guys are wanting to issue - maybe I missed it in the thread discussion. DVC was indeed nice for cryptoguild though I arrived late to that party.

I am just wanting a way to list UNO on http://www.secureae.com/
So more like a redeemable token 1:1 for UNO, the easiest way I see is a kind of periodic redeem dates managed by a small group.

Also, if you want innovation, UNO is in an excellent position to spinoff assets (or launch them)
  A.  Snapshots that create a new chain that is MM sha256
  B.  OR, snapshots that go onto NXT, XEM, or whatever proves to be a reliable 2.0 platform

The key there is having a known community that can vet projects, review the business plan, and present it to the public.

I will look into secureae and see if any of the people in my wot have reviewed it, thanks.

It's good to see a sort of renaissance in regards to exchanges however. cryptopia is the only one I use for exchanging crapcoins to btc at this time.

Also good to see UNO stepping back from the black-hole that is cryptsy. The withdraw issues that everyone is complaining about were predicted not long after they opened ( though this can occur with any such exchange ).

p2p gpg contracts have never failed me yet. The proper cryptography is already there if people will use it instead of attemting to reinvent the wheel.

Hello! Just got the wallet! Loving it so far! Siameze was generous enough to share the link! I love how it's an extension, keeps desktop moving better!
Hope to see more from this coin soon! I'll be watching Wink

I sent you 10k AWE: https://blockchain.coinawesome.com/tx/760d154e32263b79f81e354cf0b59927769c03e7a62844bd22bf1c440a7ded3f

Hopefully it can be revived on cryptopia, that's about the only altcoin exchange I use anymore. Remember to look them up on twitter as well. This could be very useful for your website since you want to do giveaways and have a faucet. ( If I get some free time I will try and code a faucet up for ya).
974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Operation Shitcoin Cleanout and Clean Up Has Begun- Join the Revolution- Re-open on: October 25, 2015, 01:04:27 AM

I'm not a big fan of the NXT ecosystem but the idea of burning worthless coins is a winner. Is this the same idea as counterparty or am I mistaken ?

Just like Counterparty, we can't force anyone to burn coins.  We just give away BARR for free to anyone who does.

But the difference is that Counterparty only burned Bitcoin, while BARR burns new altcoins every month.

Again, an interesting idea for sure - I'll keep an eye on it. I may just have some crapcoins lying around that make the list.
975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Operation Shitcoin Cleanout and Clean Up Has Begun- Join the Revolution- Re-open on: October 25, 2015, 12:46:46 AM

Honestly, who gives one or three shits how many coins are out there?

You seem to care enough to get upset about it.

Quote
It just seems obsessive and like you want to exercise power over what coins other people choose to buy/mine/beg/etc.

Most of these altcoins will die anyway, no matter what we do.  We're giving people other choices besides "hold your bag and hope someone buys it, until it gets delisted and then your wallet stops working."  Of course they can still choose that, or they can sell us their coins, or they can burn their coins and receive BARR.

And I don't know how you think we would be able to control anyone.  People have to burn their own coins, we can't force them.

Maybe you should look at altcoin exchanges, because they're the ones exercising power over what coins people are allowed to buy.  Of course, if you swap your coins to the NXT decentralized exchange, you'll never have to worry about whether an exchange will delist your coin, or be hacked, or shut down by the government.  Or they won't let you withdraw your coins unless you give your name and address, which just happened to me this week at Cryptsy.

Don't mistake my profanity for emotional investment; it's just a manner of speech. I don't care what people use - bitcoin, litecoin, dogecoin, litedogedarkcoin, nxt, bitshares - whatever floats your boat.

What it seems like you're doing to me is trying to intimidate people into buying your 100% premined NXT asset, and push people into the NXT ecosystem. Maybe since the price of NXT is at an all-time low, and since maybe people don't want to buy into something that was distributed to a dozen or few dozen people, you figure you can strongarm a few more "bagholders" as you refer to them into the NXT ecosystem. OK, whatever, like I said, people should be free to buy/beg/burn/mine/etc whatever coin/asset/token they want.

I'm not a big fan of the NXT ecosystem but the idea of burning worthless coins is a winner. Is this the same idea as counterparty or am I mistaken ?

Finally got to post this:

Special thanks to @Garmin for the sweet box of HAM-related goodies he sent me via post. Sent one of these: https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/MarketItem/1955 and too many other great things to list which will assist me greatly in testing things for hamradiocoin. You have gone above and beyond ensuring developers have the things they need to keep the wheels moving.

There is certainly no other community of geeks like this one. I daresay no other altcoin community has the level of technical expertise and support that this one does.  Grin

The Osmiumcoin dude tried to leech off the good reputation of Unobtanium by saying it's "the next UNO". He's said it in bitcointalk threads, on his ANN post and in exchange chat boxes. It was 100% to get ICO money and he has 0 affiliation with UNO. Every time he's mentioned it in this thread I've reported to moderator and it was deleted. Thanks to SirSmokes and RDD for expressing that as well.

I just wanted to make that clear.

Apparently this is the guy behind "PunisherCoin" if the link in his trust profile is correct. Both coins fit the same profile, and because of the heavy ICO I consider it a scam.

I say we all love or  suppose to love Unobtanium! But what turn so many people  off? Why the interest of buy uno is in total stop even on these low low prices?
Now people are more like leave than come here to Un?
I don't know. Organize a task force and come back with solutions that will fit the community and resources.

Impractical ideas, such as FK should advertise Unobtanium on the side of a blimp,  won't be very helpful unless the recommendation is accompanied with resources.

Karpeles is still locked away in Japan. Good luck finding another blimp to advertise on.

Yawn,

Just when one thought the negativity had vacated the premises...  Roll Eyes

Gekko, you are a brilliant guy, you hate this coin, why do you keep showing up here? We're all dumbarses and a lost cause, isnt there some other venue you can bestow your wisdom than to troll here?

Better yet, there has to be a programmer in Hanoi that can help you create your own coin, that you can get listed on exchanges, and market, and make billions of Dong?

Brilliant people can figure out where a .conf file goes like 99% of the population.

It never occurred to me to ask, but I wonder if PR is merge mineable, like Uno? Or is it the "old" Un sidechain/testnet.
Anyway, I'll toss a USB miner on it as soon as it syncs here. There may not be any blocks for a while though, depending on the last difficulty.

Good luck to the Yobit effort! I'll do what I can to promote it.  I hope it brings new people into Uno.

Doesn't matter, BTC testnet is practically unusable. Use regression testing mode and make all the coins you want for testnet.
