961  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 per bitcoin on: July 14, 2017, 01:47:46 AM
I think we are going to spend $10,000 per bitcoin sooner than we thought because more countries are legalizing bitcoin. Australia is going to do it on July 1st, India is on its way. What do you think?
Each bitcoin costs 10,000. I believe this can happen with the pace of the mayor's growing momentum. And maybe it will be from August 1st. You believe it! Currently, some countries in the world have accepted bitcoin payment as Japan, US, UK...

Mayor's momentum? What does the mayor have to do with this?  Grin
A successful resolution of the scaling problem will provide a boost to Bitcoin, but I am not sure it will reach USD 10K very quickly.

1 BTC of proven balance gives you 62.5 MB (0.0625 GB)

1 BTC on which chain?

It doesn't really matter for me. I am going to sit tight with bitcoins on both chains, if a fork does occur.
So which ever chain the distributors pick, I am going to get my GB.
963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: July 14, 2017, 01:33:49 AM
Great to see BitBay still doing well and development remaining strong. A true decentralised market place will be a game changer but inevitably this will attract illegal goods. It's just the way it is. You cannot police the market or it will kill it. It will also impose a responsibility on BitBay itself.

The price seems to be stuck some how. Bitbay has witnessed periodic dumping and I think the early holders who were dumping must almost be out of coins. We seem to be stuck at 80-90 in terms of marketcap.

What a performance from Venus, I am very happy for her. She has had some distressing times off the court in the  last 18 months, not to mention her health problems. Yet here she is, at thirty freaking seven! Hard work and class always shine through.
Right , she got into some trouble too actually ( accident and stuff ) during the tournament but she is focused and her mental strength is amazing Smiley She is 37 and wow she is again into Wimbledon finals  and I hope she wins .

Venus proving that age is just a number. Heart break for the British fans and Konta, but Venus deserved to win this one. She just took apart Konta in straight sets. Venus won her first Wimbledon title in 2000..... that's a long time ago.

Pretty heavy dump after this last airdrop.
Probably a lot to do with it coinciding with the general alt carnage of the last couple of days.
Will surely recover in time for the next one.

The last airdrop was pretty large, compared to the previous ones. So it is expected that the dump will be large too. The dump pretty much finished before the alt carnage started.
Byteball has actually not been that affected by the general decline in alt prices.
966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum reached the bottom ? on: July 12, 2017, 11:45:45 PM
ETH went from 403$ to 232$ in few days , it's time to buy a tons of ETH now while its cheap ? What do you think ?
ETH is a currency that has more features than bitcoin. It is difficult to have any coins to pass bitcoin, but ETH is now considered a bitcoin rival. Since the beginning of the year, the price has risen by 2,000% more than bitcoin. So which investment do you choose for which currency?

It has been boosted by the number of tokens which have been issued on the Ethereum blockchain. The ICO bubble will eventually burst. What will happen to ETH after that will be the question. I wouldn't be confident in investing in ETH at this point.
967  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cryptocurrency getting Crashed on: July 12, 2017, 11:41:15 PM
Why Cryptocurrency getting crashed in last somedays?

And less than a few hours later, most cryptocurrencies have rebounded. There is negative sentiment around the hard fork, massive fears of an alt-bubble, but that hasn't stopped people from buying alts again.
968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 12, 2017, 11:39:00 PM
Halep would have reached no.1 in the world if she had gotten into the next round but got stopped on the way by another piece of history for british tennis. Konta now will face a prev champ Venus Williams which should be as entertaining as the Halep-Konta match.

Oh well, But Konta was really good though and I have predicted that she will bring good tennis specially that Britain does not have a champion for the longest time. She is British hope to keep the trophy at home for the time being. It will tough facing Venus but I hope she overcomes it and so that the chances of raising the trophy this year for the British fans will be huge.

If Konta does defeat Venus Williams, it will be a huge boost for British fans. Most fans in this generation cannot remember a British woman reaching the Wimbledon finals, let alone winning Wimbledon. Venus Williams is 37 years old and is still giving tough competition to the current players.

Feel like every month, there is a pump and dump for Byteball....

It's only to be expected, it's almost like collecting monthly interest payments on your BTC.  I'm sure there are plenty of airdrop recipients with no plans to hold Byteball long term.  The airdrop arrives and they turn around and sell...

If it weren't for them, Byteball buyers would have a tough time buying cheap GBs. In any case, this will stop in a few months time as the airdrop ends. Looking at the pace of Bitcoin linking, I wouldn't be surprised if the airdrop lasts only for a couple of more months.
970  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will drop before bouncing back : Goldman Sachs on: July 11, 2017, 12:23:36 AM
With the kind of volatility that Bitcoin has, any reasonable prediction that you make on Bitcoin will mostly be proven right. You don't have to be Goldman Sachs to predict that there will be a dip and then a boom.  Grin

strange bay hit so hard today ... huge dump but those selling now will only have to buy back in higher

shame the peg isnt quite ready people would be jumping into bay rather than out right now.

Entire market is getting trashed. We need Bitcoin to figure out what it wants to be when it grows up before this will reverse...

Yup, Bitbay does seem to have been caught in the negative market sentiment. This is temporary and once things stabilize, altcoins with real value will start shining again. The altcoin market has been greatly diluted lately.

1GByte now $583 on CMC - its lowest in over 30 days. Great news for buyers.

Mainly because Bitcoin has dropped over $200 today (so far).

I noticed that too. In fact, the first page of CMC is a sea of bleeding red coins, even Dash has been affected.
BTC is a far way from its $3000 record but can it get any worse (or better depending on how and where you're looking at it from Grin)?

In relative terms, Byteball is doing great. When Bitcoin sneezes, all the other alts catch a cold.
We should be getting ready for the pump before the next distribution.
973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 11, 2017, 12:12:37 AM
What an amazing match.... Muller played great great match today and fully deserve this victory . I never thought that Muller will be the man who is going to eliminate Spanish from Wimbledon, despite his great form in last few months. At the end, king of clay is king of clay, grass doesn`t fit him so good this year.
As I supposed, Cilic had an easy job today and Dimitrov couldn`t catch up with that Federers killer rhythm. Young Zverev need to grow just a bit more for big Grand Slam results...

I fully enjoyed this game and I think Muller did what A.Zverev couldn't do earlier in the day against Raonic the six seed. Nadal tried to mount a come back after going down two sets but I guess the strength of yesteryears have eluded him and he was finally broken 13-15, I wish he was in the quarter finals to spice up the competition but all the same there are good guys out there who will let us enjoy the rest of the competition.

It was an epic match. You usually expect young guns to pull off such marathon matches against the stars. Muller is no kid, he is 34, but he still managed to stretch Nadal and finally beat him. These matches really liven up the initial rounds of Wimbledon.

Konta has a chance to get into the quarterfinals today. She plays Caroline Garcia of France.
Konta is the sixth seed, compared to the 21st seeded Garcia. I will be betting on Konta winning this one.  Smiley

with BTC2356+ byteball is now the top coin by volume on bittrex above eth, ltc and everything else

That is only because of the airdrop and people dumping their free coins. One day's volumes are not indicative of anything.
In a day's time, this should normalize.
976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 10, 2017, 01:38:59 AM
I bought some byteball after the dump, not bad deal so far.

I'm thinking are there more coins like byteball with distribution to bitcoin holders?

Like stellar lumens as well?

But for stellar you should connect your bitvoin adresses to your facebook...

Brrrrrr....

There is Bitcore. But the amount you get is only equal to the amount of Bitcoins you had and can prove with signature back in late April. They are also doing a weekly airdrop, lately, but only for people who have balances in the top 1000 Bitcore addresses. Although I do like Bitcore, this distribution for Byteball seems a lot better. Wish that I gave this a chance months ago.

That is true. Byteball's distribution pattern is undoubtedly better. People fail to realize that a coin grows as the number of users grows. By restricting the airdrop to the top 1000 Bitcore addresses, Bitcore has dug its own grave.
977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins looting the money on: July 09, 2017, 01:26:48 PM
Hi, today i sent 0.00238 btc from my electrum wallet to my localbitcoins account.I have already paid transaction fee.I have received only 0.00154 btc in my localbitcoins account. So they have taken 0.0008 btc as incoming fee. So,dear all be careful while using localbitcoins.com for selling your hard earned btc.Just wanted to make you all alert of this loot.

This wouldn't be an isolated case. Even wallets like Xapo have fee for incoming small transactions.
http://in.xapo.com/fees/
They wouldn't want users to collect dust in their wallets.
978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 09, 2017, 01:20:28 PM
If I understand correctly - blackbytes are held only on users' wallets.
What happens to the blackbytes that I am supposed to receive, if I don't login for a year into my byteball wallet.

In the case of normal cryptocurrencies, I just hold the private keys to my address and coins are transferred to my address, irrespective of whether I am logged in or not. Is it the same with blackbytes?
979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: July 09, 2017, 01:15:31 PM
the dump was very interesting today. it seems like everyone had their watches set on a couple of hours before the distribution to dump.

what do we think here?
i am waiting for a bottom to pick some additional bytes for HODLing. don't know where the bottom is for now though.

There were 2 dumps - One initially after the snapshot was taken (GB holders hoping to catch in on cheaper byteballs)
And the second one after the distribution took place.
In either case, we should wait for the dust to settle down before we look at the market cap of byteball.
980  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where would we be had the ETF passed? on: July 09, 2017, 03:06:14 AM
Let's have some eeal speculation as this was never going to happen, but where would we be at had the ETF passed?

As you can time the alt bubble to the near minute of it not passing i think it's safe to assume that wouldn't have happened.

What else?

Bitcoin is getting choked now from the number of transactions. If the ETF had been approved, I think things would have become unbearable.
The alt bubble would not have arisen at all.  Smiley
