981  Other / Meta / Re: Are they bots? on: September 29, 2020, 08:08:01 PM
Some time ago I saw that there was a giveaway on this thread.

I bumped it some times to only recently realize that no giveaway had been deposited in my 777coin account.

I asked about that and was told that the giveaway had ended some time ago.

Then I thought, what are those guys doing? They bump the thread every day. They must have realized that no money is deposited into their account.

I've looked at their post history and I've seen this:

User joshing. His post history consists in 41 pages repeating the same message: "777coin username: joshing
Thank you"

User levik. The same: 54 pages just bumping that thread.

Then there are others who wrote some posts in the beginning but for the past like three years they have been just bumping that thread.

For example: ronaldo8971 and planetroving.

I think they must be bots, otherwise I don't understand. I suppose that should be reported. Is it OK just with this thread or should I also report them?

Can be some paid posters for advertising the thread in the section, but i doubt lightlord would do that. The bot thing is also possible. It's a very easy way to develop accounts for sale, well before the merit system.
On the other hand no forum rules were broken, so I guess reporting them won't do any change.
982  Economy / Reputation / Re: News about suchmoon. (Not moderated) on: September 27, 2020, 11:39:11 PM
There's another thing playing a big role here called reputation. If you are accusing someone with the reputation of that level as suchmoon you really need to have a solid proof.
On the other hand, newbies most of the time have nothing to lose and often cross the line, so from what I've seen until now suchmoon has a good eye for spotting shady business and in 99% of the cases I totally agree with him/her (this gender thing is still a mystery to me).
By keeping the forum safe, people really get some enemies here. I'm not surprised of this attack but until I see a solid proof I call it just a made up story.
983  Other / Meta / Re: Can't post on Archival? on: September 26, 2020, 07:46:19 PM
If i remember correctly i suggested a test board before, with the same restrictions as the Ivory Tower, except for the Full Member (make it Jr. or 1 merit-received restriction) with possibility of having it a Self moderated.
984  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is there any app with notification when there's a transaction? on: September 26, 2020, 07:37:22 PM
Just simple without registration by subscribing from https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/subscribe/
only need a bitcoin address and email notification.

If you need many cryptocurrencies use https://www.cryptotxalert.com/ but need to register and some penny.

Oh, That's even better, no need to bother installing some shady apps. Thank for the great info. I was was thinking to suggest an extension to the TryNinja 's Telegram notification bot, no need anymore Smiley
985  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members on: September 26, 2020, 05:26:58 PM
I think it's time for zasad@ to answer the same questions he is asking around, don't you guys think so?
We would love to hear your story too, bro.
You should have been the first one to answer but better late than never, right?
986  Economy / Reputation / Re: @Virtual Reality name jenabaxter is not providing good service on: September 23, 2020, 12:53:57 PM
Here are the pictures for reference:

I never thought that a service with cards like that could be a real thing and never used one. It's just a common sense that people stay away from such card related services. It's like the you get a private key from someone to store coins. It's just madness to trust anonymous person in a anonymous forum with your money.
987  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Is there any app with notification when there's a transaction? on: September 23, 2020, 12:48:25 PM
The title maybe it's not describing the best what I'm looking for so let me explain.
I'm using the Sentinel by Samourai Wallet for a watch only addresses. It's a perfect address watcher except they don't have a notification option if there are any incoming/outgoing transactions.

Is there any app where you can set up a notification when you receive/send funds?

This can be a very useful tool to watch over your bitcoin. If someone steal your coins and you get a notification, it's already too late but still you know that something is wrong and can prevent the hacker to make more damage.
988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright To Face Trial on: September 23, 2020, 12:37:30 PM
Is all that fake theater worth it at the end. Everyone knows know that he is not Satoshi and he really failed at trying to convince anyone.
I saw a video of Craig Wright just recently and looking at his face seems for me that he had/have some heath issues. I can't tell from that bad quality of the video but he has some missing teeth.

992  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Funds went missing on a transfer from Binance to Coinbase on: September 21, 2020, 10:44:07 AM
Coinbase have their own sable coin USDC. And unfortunatly this is what is sayin on the website:

Quote
Do not send USDC to any Coinbase wallet addresses other than your USDC wallet. Coinbase will not be able to recover tokens sent to the wrong address.
I guess it's the same if you send other tokens to their address.

You can check with binance support and see what the can do.

Trace the coins you sent here > https://www.omniexplorer.info/

Use your forum name "Rath_" and I'll add an option for alternative usernames right away.

Done. Let me know once you have added it. Thanks in advance!

Everyone's changing usernames those days? Cheesy

Yeah, everyone seems to have a good reason to do so. @TheBeardedBaby 's baby probably grew a nice beard.

Cool, i really liked the old one, now i have to get used to the new one. I wanted to change mine to SpamBuster but somebody else has already registered it Sad just a few days after I opened the SpamBusters' thread.

Such a nice things happening when you you hang out in the discord server Smiley

The baby's beard came out many months ago, there'll be two Santas at home this year.
Just a tip. Baby oil works perfectly as a replacement of a beard oil Smiley it's even better Cheesy
@TryNinja thanks man, seems like more and more people are running into this alt uname problem. I have two bot subscriptions. I guess one is no needed anymore Smiley
You don't need to "try" to be a Ninja, you are a Legendary one!

Edit.
I got notification for that post, why?

997  Economy / Reputation / Some Guidelines when you posting a feedback. (Account sellers) on: September 18, 2020, 11:16:01 PM
Since so many new users are joining DT1 and DT2, there should be some guidelines, how to properly leave a feedback.
Many times I also have left just a "short" ones, but now I see them as a incomplete.
I have an idea to collect the best practices when leaving a feedback.

My first suggestion is regarding the Account Sellers.
Posting only "Account Seller" might be enough for those who are familiar with the rules but most of the time those who try to buy an account have heard that they can make money here and to skip developing an account, especially now with the merit system, just purchase one and have no idea that there are consequences. Most of the time they get scammed too.

So what I think we should be doing is to leave a bit more detailed information in the feedback, not only Account Seller. but Like for instance:
Account buying/selling is not endorsed by the forum and can result in negative feedback on the account. Account sellers are not to be trusted, you are most likely to loose money.

Here is an example of a short feedback - account_seller777:

Note:The self-moderation is only to prevent this thread from being flooded with spam. No censorship!

999  Other / Meta / Re: Make this forum a better place - part 2 on: September 18, 2020, 04:55:28 PM
Theymos took down the beta site for the new forum software, and let comunity do their part in testing.
I think this should be a good example of what you suggest that will never happen. Sorry to say that but it a lost cause.
1000  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal for making these threads sticky in "Beginners & Help" section. on: September 17, 2020, 10:37:54 PM
Half of the first page will be covered with stickys. If this comes true i would love an option to hide the stickys.
All that can be avoided with a simple Welcome message, while is more likely to be implemented.

Just a simple link in news feed for the first 7 days online should be enough.
