I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the S15s "selling out". Bitmain has been known to have "sold out" of very small quantities of Batch 1 miners before - just to get the publicity. For instance, perhaps the "sold out" of dozens or perhaps 100s of S15s in minutes. No big deal.
I see what your saying. It does have a certain effect on the market and competitors if you can sell this unit. It seems almost futile unless they truly are grasping at straws, it really only buys them a few weeks when the orders are supposed to ship out. If there aren't a bunch of them being delivered to farms of all sizes it would just raise more questions about their business. Who knows if they had as little as 10 miners for sale and sold out very quickly. That would be one hell of a going out of business sale. Was there not reports too of issues with the chips during development?
Yeah it was discussed a little at the beginning of the thread Could this be a reason to limit how many a customer can buy so they don't end up with 1000's of warranty repair or replace in the next few months.
Even if the limit is 2 per customer if the machines fail, you've just spread out the amount of pissed off consumers. More angry people by limiting the purchase amount. The Max quantity does lend more credence to the small batch argument more than anything. If delivered to a large enough sampling of people it does a better job of getting the word out as opposed to a couple of large orders buying up all the stock.

It's a pity that the forum's ranking mechanics didn't ever find a way to recognize and measure the value of listening vs the one of intervening with comments in most cases unnecessary.
You still seem to be earning merit, so the posts you do make are will get you there eventually; just not at the same time as the old system. I disagree with the above statement though, any such mechanism would really just be rewarding people for not being an inconvenience. When someone comes here to learn and attain knowledge they are drawing from the pool which is great that's what the forum purpose is. In doing so though you are not making a contribution at that moment; later on when you use that knowledge or add some of your own is when the contribution is made and merit would be appropriate.

I will leave it and quit my work.
That's the one right there. Plagiarism is a "you" Ban not just that account. So you can read but you can't keep coming to "work" here. Seeing as that's your mindset you can consider it getting fired, for stealing your co-workers ideas.
Edit: I think you never visited a bounty section its in child section of Marketplace (Altcoins) you have to visit it.
Not with a 10 foot pole.

If that is true I could prove it if Japan gave me full authority to investigate it. But that is less likely then my 2 sidekick new pacs hitting back to back blocks. So you're telling me there's a chance. ~ Lloyd Christmas It would be nice to see the inner mechanisms of these companies or at least a brief overview. Honestly I can't think of any other industry that has this sort of set up, granted there aren't any I can think of where you could potentially use the investor money to build a product then use it to ROI. I just wonder who would possibly pre order their B3 considering the debacle this turned into... Oh wait didn't they start taking that preorder money to build the B3's before issuing the refunds. Honestly it's starting to look more like a damn Ponzi the more I think about it.

as I wrote in the subject account blocked today over a year old and 1500+ posts username: toheed2x The name is in the OP and here's the profile link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1770501So far I just see bounty and airdrop trash. Edit all I see is autoban in the Modlog

Good luck with the sale, Must say they've always peaked my curiosity, USB sticks in general.
You may have better luck with sales and visibility if you move this to the "computer hardware" board. That's where most people would look for these.

Sorry to say but if this was a hack there's nothing you can do. The coins do show as being sent and I'm no blockchain sleuth but once you send them, they are not reversible.
You need to try and figure out how someone gained access to all your wallets to make this happen. Not to add any insult to injury but what precautions did you take to store this massive bag (by most peoples standards) of BTC.
The best you can do is see if maybe it was someone you trusted gained access. If it truly was a hack or a keylogger, I can't see how you would find them, especially if they use tools for anonymity.

I don't thin this feature exists but it would be nice to have the opportunity to delete a report - Obviously before it's been handled.
Have to just laugh at myself, I got caught up reporting in a thread and forgot that I started off somewhere in the middle of a batch and made a duplicate report. It just annoys me I can't go in and remove the most recent one as I can see it staring at me waiting to be turned Bad. I know it doesn't really matter, it just adds to the workload a little, and that's not my intent.
Having also just received my 1st Bad since having access to my log, I can say I'd like to know where I went wrong, not to bitch and moan about it. I just don't want to create bad reports and it would be nice to learn from it. Judging the way the reports were handled that night (sporadically in my list) I don't think it was someone who generally handles those reports.

I'm sorry but do you remember 2017??
BTC price reached ATH in the beginning of November 7300$ then by the end of the month had hit 8100$. Following that it hit 17900$ I think is the current ATH. Granted from December 23 onward it dropped off and hasn't recovered. That's a seperate issue, and I believe is more related to a hard correction needed after so much FOMO with minimal adoption to support it.
I'm hoping we see another nice December bump out of this slump, but there's no telling for sure.
As for Raven we are still doing good, price might not be in Lambo country but there's nothing driving a rush there. All you can do is wait for this project to speak for itself and drive the price accordingly.

Where in Canada would you be shipping these from?
Are you selling them individually or as a package deal?
You willing to move on the price? I may be interested in a couple more space heaters.
Other than that, great ad all info is there, looks like you took good care of the gear.

This thread has brought out a great amount of information in regards to the forum moderation policy, implementation of the rules and the administrators views to some extent regarding both.
This is a perfect example of some information I feel should be captured in a locked topic maintained by theymos or restricted to staff members for updates. The explanations Saltyspitoon put out there sheds a great deal of light on the inner workings behind bans, and rule enforcement. I understand it may not be necessary once new forum software is implemented, but in the interim I think it would be a net positive for the forum as a whole.
As administrator I feel any statement of intent or clarification regarding the forum made by theymos should be documented. This would do members for all ranks and positions on the forum a service by having clear guidelines or explanations without out making it a commandment in stone to be followed for generations.
I had previously stated having the unofficial rules updated by theymos to have exactly that the rules black and white. After reading through this it's pretty crystal why that isn't necessary or an improvement. It would just create a forum law code and arguments and precedents... it makes my head spin already.
More on topic I feel I report a pretty decent amount of posts. If I find something clearly being plagiarized I put the source in my report to moderator and don't give it a second though; maybe they're banned maybe not. Now I have an idea of what happens behind the scenes. This does make me think of a recent case and clears up any confusion about how it was handled.

I want to get a response from Theymos
Oh is that all. Why didn't you just ask? I've heard putting @ theymos in the title guarantees a response. "They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works everytime. ~Brian Fantana

I can't find anything on your account for sure.
I do see you mostly post in bounty/ICO threads, there have been a lot of bans for bumping threads and participating in on forum giveaways for posting.
There is also the chance it still was plagiarism because not everyone uses that thread, some just report to moderator. So if one of your ICO posts looked just like one of the other 1000 generic posts there you may have been swept up in a mass ban for that.
Regardless there haven't been many mistakes and these threads generally end with someone just posting definitive proof you've plagiarized. Have to wait and see I guess.

Another good indicator of the hashrate over the longterm is the difficulty and how it retargets (every 2016 blocks) We just had a drop of 7%, going over the last period. This was directly influenced by the BCH wars. A lot of hash was redirected and rented to try and push each sides agenda. I'm pretty sure it was a bigger impact in the last 2 days or so, but before that we were still on target for a reduction. Now I think it will be a price induced drop over the next few weeks if this current dip lasts for the short or long term. For the last month or so we have been keeping pretty much steady there is a thread that has been documenting it pretty well.
For a more direct answer to OP. I would say that at a certain moment in time Hashrate and price are not affecting eachother. Hashrate is affected by price though, it just takes a few weeks to catch up with the retarget period. The short answer really is as price goes up more hardware becomes profitable and goes online, you also bring in new miners. As price drops you will see people/farms slowly dwindle in numbers down to those that are profitable or hobbyists.

Hey there, Here's some tips to help with your sale [WTS] Posting guidelines for physical goodsFocus on pictures, Escrow, and shipping details where to/from. Good luck with your sale. You could also move this to the "computer hardware" board it's more specific to the hardware you are selling. You can find "move topic" at the bottom left of this thread you may have to scroll down.

deleting the pool information does not help, the miner then runs for bitmain.
Id be interested to see how the miners go back to mining for bitmain if you delete all pool info All 3 and then save & apply. I agree it does mine to those addresses when you first turn them on until you update it with your information. the only soft way to power off is 2 separate psu's
What, have I been lying to myself. When I've removed all pool information and save it I was certain I was killing the majority of the power by stopping hashing. (shows at poolside, and GUI is empty on miner status page but still accessible) I know there is still controller power and there will be power at the boards but with minimal draw, my suggestions where just to reduce the load on the hashboards to a minimum and allow them to cool by the fan. I've also unplugged the network cable in the past if I was by the miner while setting up. If I'm wrong I know have another issue with Bitmain gear lol. Just part of my other life seeping in, I like to unload before stopping equipment.

So in conclusion, if getting rid of ALL spam is not the plan, please remind me why I should continue to report ANY spam.
It is a never ending battle, and it will continue to be so long as someone somewhere can eek out a profit by spamming the shit out of this forum. The reason you and anyone else who enjoys being here or has gotten anything of benefit out of being here; is just that. The forum has the tools (or at least some tools) for us to help fight spam and clean this place up. I use them because I get a lot out of this forum and enjoy coming here. If I'm not willing to actively participate in reporting, then I'd feel shitty earning anything from this site and coming here whenever I have a problem. I do both quite frequently. It's just a part of being a member of this fairly dysfunctional semi functional community group of people, and I don't think there needs to be any reward involved just awareness that it helps. Here's what I see happening either people continue reporting and look at it like a side quest in a video game, just something you do along the way to whatever you where here to do in the first place. When that stops or the number of members dwindles to levels where it doesn't make a difference, the forum gets over run people leave, or theymos goes nuclear on the trash and we see where the chips/signatures/ico's/advertising land. so what else can we do other than convert all our BTC into BCH and leave).
ROFL Would that be ABC or SV, the world desperately needs to know

Faketoshi is IMHO clinically insane and one of the worst enemies of crypto. He has made it clear that he is willing to destroy BTC and BCH. Not just that, there was the part where he talked about making exchanges lives a living hell then going back later to make it worse. In what universe does that do anyone any good. He's a real salt the earth so nothing grows kind of guy. I can't say I've ever really given the guy much consideration, he's just never done anything to peak my interest while actively participating in the community. Like someone else said he just sorta pops in and out and makes a big splash about it. His psy-OP level FUD is vile and disgusting; I must say I have never felt more sympathy for his opponents Roger Ver and Jihan Wu.
Well they were all good buddies for a while. This is what happens when you act shady and deal with snakes. I remember trying to digest and disseminate information Ver and bunch were passing off on the Bitcoin.com website, you know a trustworthy source of information about the real vision of bitcoin and what not. Made for a hell of a time figuring out where I was and what I was or wasn't supporting while trying to figure out the basics. With that whole interview it wouldn't matter what great content he delivered, or proof he has any coding or programming skills. The second he stated that BTC would be gone entirely, that there was a fatal bug that he knows about and obviously doesn't feel like sharing; it all became FUD. It was also the instant he pretty much contradicted himself. With the I don't have the time to attack BTC, to actually I don't need to it'll kill itself. Awesome dude, can't wait to hear more.

Probably more like they saw the latest competitions products and decided they couldn't compete
That really shouldn't have mattered. That's the golden ticket for pre-order companies, the time between when you pay and they deliver. It's a get out of jail free card, all you have to do is deliver the equipment, even if it's sub par for what is being sold along side it when the time to ship comes due. There is no economical benefit to not shipping out the miners and refunding customers if the gear was successful. Considering the pre-order was supposedly sold out, they would have been way ahead by delivering this product to market, then moving forward.
