2021  Other / Meta / Re: Deleted posts - do these all count when an entire thread is deleted? on: April 02, 2019, 11:37:00 PM
Banned users threads aren't automatically deleted. Maybe is they are a newbie they get nuked, not sure where the line is drawn. For example this user is banned, and the topic has survived.

I'm pretty sure if you are receiving the PM about a post being deleted then it is each individual post being deleted by a Mod or in a self Moded thread. If it is an entire topic being trashed, then I don't believe a PM is sent.

There was a thread on this recently I'll try and find it.

Edit: Here's the topic.

Edit:
Thanks, that is quite interesting to know.

Not a problem.
2022  Economy / Reputation / Steamtyme - An attack helicopter clearing the air or a "Reputation Thread" on: April 02, 2019, 11:08:34 PM
I really don't have much to put here at the moment. I felt the need to have something on the forum after a user reached out to me to see if I was talking to them through Telegram.

So I just want to put some points out there so no one gets ripped of by low quality Steam  Wink

  • Communication - I prefer to communicate through the forum - Via PM, or within a thread for visibility. I do not contact members using any other platform
  • I do not reach out unsolicited in any way via any other platforms

If someone contacts you in any way outside of the forum, it is not me. Best way to confirm this is tell them to log in and sign a message from this address. 1Pg3Wf1RQYxsBXiXsEzaESr6PBD56uWVAX Staked here

I am open to having discussions about my behavior or giving my opinion here should anyone have concerns or interest in either. I may try to find some of my opinions on "feedback" and link or put them in code here as well.

Have you been excluded - It doesn't mean you are distrusted by me. That is poor wording for the system; what it does mean is that something in your left feedback didn't meet the standards I want to see by default in my custom trust list. Here are some reasons I exclude people:

  • No reference links or grossly misleading risked amounts
  • Retaliatory feedback - If you are leaving anything but a neutral in these cases I will exclude you. If your habits change I am always willing to reconsider but this will be after a decent amount of time has passed
  • If I feel you overreact to situations - This varies based on the person and their actions. Knee jerk reactions that are rectified will still result in me wanting to monitor the changes in your habits, and leave exclusions in place

Some people get excluded because they show as default based on those I've added, as I adjust my list your exclusion may disappear if it's no longer necessary. While I have not kept up with exactly how voting works for DT1 , I also want to do Default trust a service for newbies who will rely on it. So I'm trying to make sure that whatever votes I have out there are elevating members that meet my vision of the feedback system.

Services
Here are some things I am trying out as either an offering or a project.

- Hosting Raffles - I've launched my first raffle I am hoping to host more if the interest is there moving forward. [Raffle] .1 BTC prize The interest just never quite got there

- Avatar space for rent - - Currently rented out to Betnomi as of 11/15/2020

- Community Liaison - I haven't made an official offering of this yet, but is something I am working towards. I am thinking of sellers/brokers who would like to market their offerings here on the forum. I created a template example of what I think would work, and am willing to manage should people need. [Template] for Brokers or Market type sellers - Not a sale thread Never really launched this.

Mining reviews/projects
220/240V North America power meter - DIY Under 60$ CAD

Video Tutorials

Newbie welcome video This thread is where I have been presenting videos to help newbies navigate the forum. So far I have a polished Newbie welcome video, and a rough cut of post formatting. Open to suggestions and critiques as well as requests in that thread.

2023  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/week on: April 02, 2019, 10:51:36 PM
Someone like me who has relied on his life in this forum will not be able to eat if he can't get bitcoin on a regular basis, especially someone like me is not good at investing or trading. Following a campaign is the only way to get bitcoin so that everyday life can be fulfilled.   Grin Grin Grin

I'm guessing you don't watch to see the quality of candidates who apply here when it is not [FULL]. No one comes here begging to be employed and fed, they let their posts do the talking, consider it a resume. My advice to you if you are serious about getting accepted ever, is to stop posting here, until they are looking for someone, check back Fridays usually if a spot opens up.  No need to reply to me.

You may want to go back and reread the OP
Note: If the campaign is full, but you are a very trusted member of the community, feel free to apply. I recommend PMing me to get a faster response.

The first bold Note, really spells it out.

2024  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [GUIDES] on Bitcointalk. Index thread (until there is a dedicated subforum?) on: April 02, 2019, 08:37:19 PM
I have ideas, rechecked your OP, and thought that my ideas can turn into real helpful topic.
[Guide] Identify scam projects by hidden premined coin indicator via explorer
I'm not sure how to value this topic, any community input?

I was popping in to give a free bump, as I linked someone here.

Thought I'd give my input on this. If it were made into a larger overall topic say - Tricks and Tools to identify Scam ICO's  - I think it would make a good addition. On it's own it seems more like a bullet point to a greater idea. Don't get me wrong very useful and anything that works towards exposing scams is good in my books.

I would only add it if there were a bunch of topics that covered different methods, you could group them in a category. That or if OP put together a complete list of Tricks and Tools they use.
2025  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help on: April 02, 2019, 08:27:03 PM
This is probably the most important place to start

Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ

Then as you go to each different section check the top posts, they are generally pinned topics that are informative or set rules for that are.

Also here is a grouping of different guides that can be found.

[GUIDES] on Bitcointalk. Index thread

Good luck. Bonus for asking for help in navigating the forum before just running wild.

Edit: I find it odd that your first post was asking about signature campaigns? Is this your first account here?
2026  Other / Meta / Re: Tip to the posters: You don't need to purposely make your replies longer on: April 02, 2019, 06:03:19 PM
OP you are correct. You will find over time a lot of behaviors that at first will drive you crazy. I wrote this a while ago and would link it to members when I'd report them for multiposting, or in an effort to end massively long nested quotes.
[Tips] Posting technique

You may enjoy the part about Post Content. There is not much that can be done other than trying to educate people you feel are doing it unintentionally.
2027  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What's for sale at your Craigslist? on: April 02, 2019, 04:46:24 PM
That's cool. I never check out craigslist we have a couple different sites in Canada that seem more popular, at least outside major centers. I did find 2 items though, pretty drastic change.

400 KM away, 2001 Hummer for $59000

150 KM a women's jacket for $50

That's the only 2 in my province it jumps to south of the border. Once I get my coins built up again I might check it out more often to see what is available.
2028  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Cell phone Chargers - Cases - Accesories. on: April 02, 2019, 04:19:54 PM
BTC price is on the rise great time to get your hands on an extra charger or case.

I will be updating my ODDS and Ends with Photos tonight or tomorrow, if you don't see what you are looking for feel free to reach out to me.
2029  Other / Meta / Re: Does anyone here make a living off the forums? on: April 02, 2019, 04:07:45 PM
As for myself, no I don't earn my living on this forum.  I just discovered early on that it would be leaving money on the table if I were to be an active poster on a forum that I liked and not join a campaign.

This here sums up how I got into campaigns in the first place. I got into BTC as it seemed an interesting way for me to earn passive income from mining, should I sell or a way to purchase goods without the potential fees.
I was here a couple of months before I realized that Sig Campaigns were a thing. The way I explained it to my partner at work was I'm doing it anyway, I'd be stupid not to earn at the same time. I still agree with this, as it doesn't change what I do here. Looking at my responsibilities and what I perceive as attainable income through the forum, it could never support me

I'm in a lucky spot, most of my active posting time at the forum is done from work. My career, pays well, but is dull 95% of the time, to the point where I literally just monitor screens looking for issues. When I'm away I generally just scan through the threads or do a lot more reading. So the Sig Campaign earnings are like a shift premium in a way when I'm at work.

I do try to use the forum and BTC in any way I can, more so to try and create opportunities for a marketplace. I have sales threads up for items I thought may be of interest to users within N.A. So far no bitters from the forum, but maybe that changes. I have also used my earnings to grow my personal home mining farm to nearly capacity for what I'm comfortable allocating. This way if I need to step away from the forum for a while or personal issues arise and I'm not as active, I've invested in my future.

One of the things I like seeing the most is when people begin to develop business ideas through conversations here. Not directly earning from the forum, but helping to grow the number of uses for BTC outside of the exchanges, or payment services.
2030  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A10 series announced on: April 02, 2019, 02:09:04 PM
~snip~

I've missed this direct from the team type of information. Looking forward to seeing the new design in action.

Did Canaan move away from the Rasp Pi for a controller? I don't recall where but there was someone here talking about a different controller model. Not sure if it was just a regional thing or not. Two different options regarding the PSU's is great, I had resigned myself to having to get models with a built in. Say you buy option 1 and the PSU dies, is it easily converted to accept a regular PSU moving forward? Or would someone need to order a replacement from Canaan?
2031  Other / Meta / Re: KYC now required on: April 02, 2019, 02:51:44 AM
April fools!

Thanks to everyone it was a lot of fun having more of an interactive April Fools Day.

The fact that all tags were random makes it even better when one lined up just right, LoyceV verifying as human sticks out lol.

I am sad that my John A Macdonald KYC didn't amount to anything more than my own chuckle. I can say yku made yhr right move there though better  as some y people were dropping real info. Could have changed it to Bitcointalk Dox day.

2032  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royal family exposed, an alternate reality on: April 02, 2019, 12:19:19 AM
Finally on the day of Jesters the tale of the Vulpine Vixen can be told.

I do believe that all conditions have been met. I myself have seen the stars and there surely were lines to be drawn and ultimate conclusions to be cemented in thought as the only conceivable explanation. Labelled a scammer debts have been settled; but scores go undetermined. The child can be seen but never unseen.

We begin our tale many years ago, in a time where Satoshis flowed like wine at one of the Vulpine Orders knightly fests. It has been many a moon since the Witchslayers were needed or summoned. Even the trolls had moved to a bog far from the silvered tongue lashings handed out by the order. It was in between the orgies and frolicking that lord Foxpup fate would be forever turned.

The Lord and his squire were off on this new machine, a 2 wheeled seat from the dreams of a mad witch. Forged by the mechanical being of all knowledge. Being the better part of 3 sheets to the wind they thought nothing of removing the liquor from a nameless actor whom they had nearly knocked clear into the village stream while exposing themselves to Guardians of the Trust. It disn't help the fellows chances having threatened to remove their feet if it should happen again. Sober and sore he swore to have his revenge.

Knowing of an affluent nobleman consumed with rage at the thought of Lord Foxpup, the nameless actor began his revenge. Knowing of the wise young kings desire to guide and grow the kingdom, he suggested a route for vehicles and creations of mad men. The King was overjoyed at this efficient way to direct traffic and provided the nameless actor full control. The path was designed and ran directly through the Affluent Noblemans property. Being that their Kingdom was known for the faceless, a group of Scammers and thieves vile and unrecognizable, the only traffic was a happy line of drunken Vulpine inductees.

Finally driven mad the Affluent Noblean, had taken to standing outside the order at all hours of the night and day. Pleading with any and all to hear of the travesties and uselessness within, to no avail. Until from beyond the shadows a mystery voice whispered the answer to his dreams. 5000 drops of this elixir and you will have outfoxed the Lord, the dark soothing voice had enthralled him changing his very being. Without hesitation he poured the vile into the cask marked for the lord and retreated to the masters layer, forgetting his affluence.

Unfortunately for the lord it had been a rather spirited day with the Order partaking in ummm rituals. So the cask was an easy obstacle to consume. Within moment the change had happened, and the lord was chased from the village. The townspeople had unusual stirrings they couldn't control and had become confused. Though it started sad this was the beginning of the consorts rise to the highest ranks of service in the Kingdom.

Edit: Damnit, I got carried away and forgot to create some characters. hmmmmmm. The thief of Bones and The Alchemist.... might just have to wait.
2033  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New buildout with buysolar has entered stage 2. on: April 01, 2019, 10:39:49 PM
You weren't kidding no messing around there. Between that and the size of the warehouse should be  a pretty smooth summer. Is it set to a thermostat or just running constant?

Looks like a beast, so that should vent 56 S9, how many M10 or better yet how many M20? The link is busted BTW.

I can't remember for sure I think I remember hearing s9's were like 200 CFM so if pushed to the max like 90 S9's.

I should probably know about the M10's, but I have been more concerned with using my heat not removing it. Summertime everything is a direct exhaust in the garage so no need for fans to be installed.

Priceless. Although the real gems looking at that are the amounts sent, and the "Smiley Cyrus" name change. I couldn't stop laughing this morning. Is it also the most merited post? (total Smerit received)

Nice to see you. I'm kinda disappointed you didn't use a shoe on the head or something for verification.

That post is hilarious, I actually went looking for it just to see the joke in action. Then I was sad, it may have been more entertaining than the Verifying thread.

2040  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BTC FPPS][EN/UA/RU] UKRPOOL.COM on: April 01, 2019, 08:32:32 PM
It depends on the current pool transactions expenditure according to the number of miners and their hash power contribution. Pool can't take money for transactions from the air, else it has a great chance to get broke as Kano said before.

Okay so to make this simpler, because you seem to be trying to hide this percentage behind the fact that there are unknowns involved in sending out rewards.

I just want to make sure nothing is getting lost in translation.

When you say "current pool transactions expenditure" - Do you mean the transaction fee to send payments out? If so this does not affect the reward distribution when a block is found. You should still be able to explain what % of the .4 BTC the pool keeps for profit, and what % the miners receive as their reward.

The transaction fee for payouts is a different issue. Some pools charge for withdrawals. Some cover the fee over a certain threshold. You can explain who covers those costs as well if you'd like. For now though most miners would want to know the breakdown of rewards. This is a big one especially if transaction fees skyrocket again, or your pool survives to the halving, where transaction fees become a larger percentage of total rewards.
