I heard you open this because you are verified loud.  Cheesy

I'd love to receive one of these if still available
2042  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BTC FPPS][EN/UA/RU] UKRPOOL.COM on: April 01, 2019, 07:05:40 PM
Yes, I'm pretty sure Kano gets the difference.  Roll Eyes

What they are asking specifically is how much of the Miner rewards do you share with the miners.

Let's say your pool finds a block and it happens to be 12.9 BTC total. Ignore the block reward of 12.5.

How much of the .4 BTC does the pool keep and how much is distributed to the miners?

Son of a... how the hell did I get the random mis-spelled role. bah! I must really be good at stasts.  Grin

That's the best. Good with numbers not so gud werds. This has been a much more entertaining joke than last year. I do wish my verified tag was a little cooler.
2044  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: KYC is now required! In order to continue using the forum why this KYC ? on: April 01, 2019, 06:07:05 PM
As others have said it is just an April Fools Joke. You'll get used to them every year same day.  Grin

I wanted to add good on you for asking questions. There are a lot of members who don't posses that common sense to ask why, and may have been putting in factual information. Good thing theymos isn't actually collecting or storing any of it.
2045  Other / Meta / Re: Real selfies in the KYC thread. on: April 01, 2019, 05:58:39 PM
What are you all talking about?
I thought this was real KYC  Angry

And you're the 4th real Satoshi I'm seeing today... exciting times.

Wait I think we found a linked trust abusing merit link. They all verified as the real Satoshi, rookie mistakes.

We need Marlboroza to get on this investigatio.... wait. Never mind I guess they have won.
2046  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A10 series announced on: April 01, 2019, 05:55:35 PM
When I check the Blokforge link, it shows 1199$ USD.

They do still state pricing and shipping is TBA. I'm  not sure if that's because the site picks up that I'm in Canada, as I know it displays to cover tarrifs or lack thereof depending.

They may have a price point in mind but I think to move these quickly they will need to come in low. There are just to many unknowns for them with the Bitmain, and MicroBT releases that are coming.

I am interested to see if this goes the route of say a 1021 then a 1041 following a few months later.
2047  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why will this ˝ ing be different that all the older ones for the miners of btc? on: April 01, 2019, 05:33:09 PM
It's weird for me this is my first halving as an active participant. I made my mind up on what I am expecting, it's an incredibly narrow look at things overall. Thinking about these things is why I have decided to get myself to capacity sooner rather than later for my personal mining. This way by the halving my machines won't owe me anything

I expect the block reward to be cut in half. I know very bold statement but I think I can stick by that.  Wink

Seriously though,

I think pricewise is is going to look like September to December 2017, before the halving. Not necessarily the same ATH, but maybe around 13 000$.
I believe we will see a large increase in hashrate leading up to the halving, from people throwing not necessarily profitable machines online to earn as many coins as possible. They will be banking on a price spike after the halving.
Immediately after the halving we are likely to see a pretty good drop in hashrate; more than the increase leading into it. I think that many people are going to become non-profitable shortly after the halving. Unless there is a large sustained rise in price to offset the lower mining rewards.

My biggest hope, is that with the block reward cut. Certain pools will stop mining empty blocks, or their miners realize how stupid it is to mine at these pools.

Oh no I never thought someone would find my confession, it was late and I was sleepy. Why did I trust theymos with my most intimate of information.

Well I admitted to killing people    Shocked                                                                                                                   ... with kindness
There face goes all contorted, it really is a sight to see.

I think I admitted something else but don't remember.  Roll Eyes
2049  Other / Meta / Re: Real selfies in the KYC thread. on: April 01, 2019, 04:20:41 PM
Wait. I wasn't supposed to post my real photo, that damn thermos got me again.

Anyone who is posting real photos or their photo with I.D, unfortunately has a lot to learn about security. That thread is likely the best place to learn it if they can actually read another post, as I've seen several posts in the thread addressing that. I can't be positive but I think anything that had ID or something was being removed because I had noticed a lot of broken image tags.

If this is what triggers their brush with scammers/hackers I would be amazed as they likely post their info everywhere and anywhere they are promised a couple satoshis, unfortunately.
2050  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Inverting fans in S15, will it burn? on: April 01, 2019, 04:02:27 AM
So running 3 fans instead of 2 with 1 pushing and 2 pulling? Is the push fan mounted directly on the miner, or is the intake ducted with an inline fan? I've just never run/seen this setup before.

If it is 3 fans directly on the miner, would there be an issue with uneven heat distribution, or would the fan cover the entire intake side? I'm just guessing there is another slot on the control board for a fan?

Whatever the configuration it would be interesting to see if there would be any power savings to be had by 3 fans running slower than 2 full out, or enough cooling to run in hotter climates.

Edit: Saw the fan you are talking about. I wonder if some hot spots not in the path of the push fan would form?
2051  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Inverting fans in S15, will it burn? on: April 01, 2019, 03:17:49 AM
Honestly, I wouldn't expect better cooling. Mainly if the fans could cool the chips better with that configuration the machine would have been built that way. Efficiency is the name of the game, and a better cooling design would reduce the work required by the fans, directly contributing to the machines overall efficiency numbers.

I also think that this setup is best unless Bitmain machined new heatsinks similar to what Canaan has had in the past. Pushing the air into the machine and creating that pressure build up through resistance to air flow and heat, pays off on the exhaust side. The air picks up velocity as it leaves the machine back to ambient room pressure.

In the end though, it's your machine and if you want to experiment, go at it slow like Phil suggested.
2052  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Demo M20 v1 is on order due May 20th on: April 01, 2019, 03:08:17 AM
I have the same unit on order for the May 20th Demo release. I was originally going to grab a 48TH unit, but ran out of time securing more coins for the order. Really depleted myself with the M10 orders. Thankfully I was able to secure this last night.

Due to past dealing with Pangolin, I'm not worried about the timing on the pre-orders. Definitely going against my no batch 1 order rule of the past, but it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up looking into the summer months. I do believe these will be delivered on spec.

My only real worry comes down to leveraging nearly 44% of my hashrate on 1 machine. This machine will never make it into the house for my winter mining down the road, but it will do just fine in my garage year round.

For me I run steadily at or above 240V, in full power mode I will be 13.8 amps. I'm not sure if I will upgrade the circuit to 30 amps just to be safe or not. This will be the only machine on the circuit, so even at +10% I'm under 16 Amps steady load. I should have everything in place to do a proper power draw reading as well, so if needed I'll know I need to change things up.

Good find on the cables, I was just going to wait to hear from Pangolin for more detailed specs so I can be sure I'm ready.

Glad we've finally taken steps to protect the government from our information.

Now give me my Howiecoins.

long haul - yes I get that we are fine but for the past 6 weeks we are not making anything that is all.

Oh not sure then time wise.

Though I'm thinking you typo'd. Last block was on the 16th of March just a little over 2 weeks. Honestly in the last 6-8 weeks we kinda killed here on the pool.

On that note lets crack this block before I move the last of my miners out of the house.

It just feels that way when the pool hashrate is lower. I can't remember wasn't the "hardest" block to crack 920% or something?

You can't just compare "time" as the time frame for expected varies on pool hashrate and network difficulty as well.

After all the very lucky blocks we had we are still looking fine

Dude, way to try and kill the vibe here. Sorry to say but this isn't the Wall observer. The purpose of this thread was a fun guess.

If you didn't feel like playing then you were more than free to move along, instead of shitting on a super generous dude bringing a little fun to the forum.

Thanks again Micgoosens, loving the last minute excitement on the Q1 game
2060  Other / Meta / Re: Being able to comment on the merit given. on: March 29, 2019, 11:51:12 PM
You mean you would like to leave a comment when you drop someone some merit? Might be a neat idea for those inclined to so so

If you want it so people justify why they merit someone, I don't see it's value. Other than completely obvious merit abuse on a decent scale it isn't moderated. I also don't see the majority of people bothering to leave merit feedback.
