2021  Economy / Economics / Re: Only young and naive guy believe in high risk high return on: August 23, 2021, 06:20:25 PM
~
Guys, be careful with such notions, because you can start risking too much out of desperation, while it's not necessary these days.

The elite used to have a huge advantage in the past. The more you go back in time, the greater that advantage was. Say, 500 years ago, if not in the elite you had zero chance of succeeding, risking or not. Today, especially during the latest 20 years, things have changed, a lot. With the help of the Internet you can get any knowledge and valuable info, and the elite has little to no advantage in this regard. So, it's not like your only option is to take big risks, no, not any more. Just educate yourself and win the game. No need for desperate moves.
I recall some other "desperate moves" here in the forum wherein the OP wants to sell all his assets including his house, just for the sake of investing it in crypto. There's just that those people that think that they can go long step forward just to get ahead of these elites.

I agree that the Internet is sufficient enough for every knowledge, and most of the resources out there are even free and being published almost everywhere. Some are even being published in Youtube and that's a plus, because not everybody is a fan of reading.
2022  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How weird is it to borrow money and invest into Bitcoin? on: August 23, 2021, 06:13:02 PM
~
I presume with the help of experts in this forum who have gone through thick and thins in this market, good guides or rules can be shared for users and newbies in the forum to have a grip on the market and know if borrowing is appropriate. It does sound thoughtless but, borrowing is part of the business. And we must prepare for the best as well.
~
No matter how you look at it, it is a desperate gamble and there isn't perfect time for it so don't just do it because you are scared to miss the opportunity to buy. Time by time, the price of Bitcoin corrects anyway and shouldn't that the opportunity for you to buy? You're risking something that you might not be able to pay after the due of loaned/borrowed money is up.
There's a blind "what ifs" in that.

I wouldn't loan ever for the sake of investment. You could just use that borrowed money to build your business and just use whatever amount you earned from that for investment.

It's not that I discourage you, but this is where "stakes are high" comes into play.

I think this thread fits more in Trading Discussion.
2023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: This bull makes all alts will make new all time highs on: August 23, 2021, 01:40:50 PM
~
Maybe don't, OP. If I was holding one right now, I would immediately sell. It is gonna be another winter season when the Bitcoin corrects again in price, and you should expect that. Think of it as when you bought that alt as a reward that you didn't end up buying a shitcoin, since that is what many altcoins are gonna end at in the end.

I am not saying that the coin you mentioned is a shitcoin. It is more of like for other coins out there.
2024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With all your assets, Investing in Bitcoin is really a madness or beneficial ? on: August 23, 2021, 11:02:16 AM
~
For me, I can afford to have 2 jobs to support myself till the next bull run, which I think will make me richer when it happens. However, there will be a lot of waiting but I wouldn't be regretting once price already up there.
Because it is true. Not everyone has two jobs that can do more than the sustainable level as you and just directly investing to crypto would lead some people to have their emotions. It is not about being pessimistic about the price, but it is all about one's wise decision in investing. You never want your car sold only to invest it all in crypto thinking that you'll just earn a lot within a week, like those 80x that people claim at social media which are lies lies lies.

It's never too late to buy, just don't commit it all to crypto especially Bitcoin, plus you're not even obliged to buy a whole coin.
2025  Other / Meta / Re: Meriting your own alt account for non abusive reasons on: August 22, 2021, 08:57:02 AM
~
I think it still counts as merit abuse. It's just that the motives are different. You aren't meriting yourself to rank up and participate in bounties, signature campaigns, giveaways, etc. You are only doing it to help yourself engage in regular forum activities easier. Like writing and replying to PMs without waiting for 24 or x hours to pass.
I think you should just ask to be whitelisted for free with your alt account to any staff member to lift the PM limits as what was mentioned in here -
New PM limits. Just mention your reasons to be whitelisted.

~
You are automatically whitelisted if you buy a copper membership. You don't need to wear the copper membership, just own it. You can also be whitelisted for free by any staff member and a few non-staff, but we're going to need some reason to think that you actually deserve it. Do not ask me for free whitelisting.

Whitelisting is a not a license to spam. You will be immediately banned if you're found spamming, even if you bought a copper membership (and you will not be refunded).

For the 1 merit to alt account, well it is just 1 merit. I won't count it as a merit abuse as it is not like you're sending more than that, but it is best to say your intention through it through the Alts thread in Reputation, so that others will know.
It's frowned upon by the community though.
2026  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Share your costly lesson about cryptocurrency.. on: August 22, 2021, 05:50:10 AM

Days back when I was a newbie in trading, I was curious about trading and how to earn it, I thought that was so easy to gain profit but the fact is not.
Purchasing a lot of shit altcoins and hoping it will grow but unfortunately, it becomes totally shitcoin that doesn't have value and some are delisted in the market, it goes the same as the OP story.  And after that, I stopped trading and was better to hold for a long term, and sometimes doing spot trading is much better.
~
Kind of similar actually to my experience back in my day trading experience. I was really enthusiastic about getting into the other side of hodling which is trading. I learned this basic ways of how to day trade in Binance in Youtube through some Youtuber called cryptojack, pretty sure that the video is not available anymore for some reason but the channel was still intact.

So I bought these coins that was shown in the video, but turns out that I did not realize that I was purchasing shitcoins like you did and yo, I did the same too. I just quitted it and never did it again. Just went for long-term hodling. As it turns out, I need more time than that whole week to learn the basics of day trading and the first day was quite even stressful enough for me considering that I have a job off-crypto.

I manage to still learn some though. I was able to get a touch of some indicators like RSI and Bollinger Band as that was taught in the video.

I thought I was alone experiencing this kind of encounter as I taught I really messed up in my decision turns out I am good.
2027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cryptocurrency is not Legalized Despite the Many Benefits on: August 21, 2021, 06:35:22 PM

Just to correct the OP, Bitcoin is not literally the first cryptocurrency.
eCash was the first so-called "cryptocurrency" back in 1983, it was like still called "cryptographic system" back in those years but not cryptocurrency. It was then followed by DigiCash. The term "cryptocurrency" was just later used in 1998.

2029  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware: Another type of hacker's trap on: August 20, 2021, 07:26:43 PM

That is the message i want to delivered.
Well sure, OP, but this is too obvious and I don't know the reasoning of someone just going straight up and download these kinds of files. This is even lower level than phishing.

Would you download a randomly named executable file when someone told you that you can generate Bitcoin with it?

~
There were some reports of false positives, and from that I wouldn't really rely on it as I am not even sure if they keep their virus database up-to-date.
2030  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: August 20, 2021, 05:09:57 PM

I once had seen this freelance service in fiverr which made me really curious:

~img snip~

Are they those who shitpost the most around here? I was thinking it seriously to pay him those €9 and have this constructive conservation before he starts working for me.
I had a similar encounter as yours.
I reported these kinds of gigs. I almost forgot to update my reply in [here] due to Fiverr not sending email to those who reported the gig.
The gig was taken down already, though I am not sure when it was taken down.

This was the link of the gig taken down in case anyone is curious. [I will comment on your bitcointalk thread](Fiverr Link)
I would just encourage others to keep reporting these types of gigs. Fiverr didn't respond to my report immediately, but at least the gig was taken down. The site requires an account, before one can report though.

I don't see any problem, OP. Just take note of what NeuroticFish said. In cases that you have an encounter with evil fees like what libert19 mentioned above, go here : Remove Proxyban (evil fees) - email to get whitelisted for free. It should be unlikely for you, unless a scenario mentioned by Upgrade00 happened.

~
There are good reasons to have an alt account. You could use one primarily for discussion/s and the other one for business-related stuffs.
2032  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How many consecutive looses can you handle in trading? on: August 20, 2021, 08:46:07 AM
~
5 consecutive losses and it is losses by the way OP, not looses. I switched my strategy to long-term when I consecutively incur losses 5 times, buying and selling my preferred coins.
I just go and decided to "f it, all into Bitcoin" now. It was a newbie experience anyway, but I guess emotion came through me that time.
2033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ban, mission impossible on: August 19, 2021, 08:11:36 PM
~
Yeah it feels like a normal thing in the way that those bans aren't even permanent anyway, though it depends to some countries. I recall last year when Russia even stopped it total ban in cryptocurrency. Cashless policy feels like still a meh, even though that could possibly lead to mass adoption of cryptos. There are still many people out there that are not used to modern technologies hindering these cashless transactions since most of the time it would involve those technologies we usually use today that is somehow seen now as "common thing".
2034  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you be able to take an additional work if required? on: August 19, 2021, 06:56:18 PM

Can't blame some of those Youtubers. It is not just those truck drivers actually. I had seen a lot of sudden burst of Family Vlogs happening for the same reason, I suppose. It just kind of concerning that they are risking their privacy just to earn quick back from monetization from Youtube.

In Facebook, I could also say the same. Even my colleagues just started launching their own Facebook Page dedicated to some random gaming livestream, though I am not fan of livestreaming that much.
2035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin have copyright? on: August 19, 2021, 02:02:22 PM

I even recall some rare posters here in my country claiming that they can print T Shirts with some crypto logos. Just check first if there are any red flags from your government pertaining cryptocurrency for obvious reasons.
Good luck to your business though. I would love to see some sample T Shirt print when you're planning to continue your business. Smiley
2036  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins on: August 19, 2021, 01:05:10 PM
~

As for the plethora of altcoins out there, and, in particular, the few that I own, I worry about the long-term future of their viability. At the time of this writing, it seems as if the sky is the limit and these projects are not only growing, but here to stay. However, things aren't always as they seem and I'm starting to wonder if it may be more prudent to dump and invest solely in BTC which I feel provides the most benefit to society and potentially has the most durability.

Anyways, any feedback is appreciated. Call me a crazy bitcoin maximalist, tell me I'm making the best decision possible or anything in between
It is your money, OP. I had sold my Ethereum after I traded back then and just decided to do what you are planning to do which is go all-in solely in BTC and never regretted it since. This isn't an investment advice, and it just came from my experience. It play out differently into your side.

Though if you're really asking for a feedback, maybe keep something for yourself unless those altcoins you dumped aren't really needed immediately.
2037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are some individuals hostile to Bitcoin? on: August 19, 2021, 11:32:34 AM
~
Some of these business owners are into thinking that Bitcoin is competing against them like if you are in the banking business, money transfers, that is absolutely what they might see. I know they have some reason as people who are in using Bitcoin can no longer use their services and that much more if all establishments are accepting cryptocurrencies already. They don't want to file bankruptcy and so they protect their reputation as well.

Well, I can't blame them either, but that is how the development goes, sometimes there is someone who feel bitter and get hurt.
It is just how some business run sadly. They need to destroy other stuffs out of their control through either FUDs or just simply throwing out random stupid arguments just to trigger a lot of people.
Too bad that they cannot even do single crap with their words from how decentralized Bitcoin is. Cheesy
That is also the another point, they don't have the control to it that's why they go full retard.
2038  Economy / Economics / Re: "Crypto is no longer in the early adoption stage" on: August 18, 2021, 05:40:45 PM
~

These countries who ban bitcoin didn't understand the whole capabilities of it. Most probably their intentions was not good and commendable for their allies, considering the fact that bitcoin was a decentralized asset. Fiat economy is really different with unregulated currency and example of that bitcoin and all crypto coins that's separated from Government control.
Actually they do understand, and it just happened to be that it goes against them. Imagine that you're governing a lot of people and your people would use something that is under your radar/observation. Pretty much you would think that they are doing something against you.

The part that they don't understand is that people need the privacy in their own money, not to be regulated by someone that is at risk of being taken away from them.
2039  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How does one start on crypto? on: August 18, 2021, 04:15:36 PM
~
Pretty sure you're looking for some businesses mentioned above. Adding up what was mentioned above, it won't be easy start since pretty much you have a lot of competitors here in the forum. Though I would ask, why focus here in the forum to solely earn? I understand there are businesses running in here, but pretty much you have plenty of opportunities off-forum as well.

I just check a little bit of the site in my mobile phone and was happy that it is somehow convenient to scroll down unlike other where I still need to zoom, though do you plan to still make a mobile app for that soon though? Cheesy
