2041  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mobile phone vs. laptop vs. tab...what's your preferred device for day trading? on: August 18, 2021, 12:44:25 PM
~
Well back in the days before I stopped day trading, I was all into desktop computer. My mobile phone is kind of rubbish and wouldn't handle that much load from browser especially if I run my browser in Desktop mode, it is hella sluggish and if even by single second it is slow, what more when if it is a whole 8 hours even though I had a lot of breaks in between those hours.
2042  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Forum Skills on: August 18, 2021, 11:53:15 AM
~
Please, is it to early/late for me to start somewhere? I am not that comfortable with only posting and contributing texually here. I need to solve technical problems.
Please, what are the basic steps I will take, what are the basic skills I need now that are not that financial intensive. Because I am still under the trauma and/or defeat of fraud/scam before I joined this forum.

I really need to be a positive energy in this forum in the future. I therefore have to create this thread to get started. I have enough time, apart from being here I don't have things that will take my time offline.

Thank you all.
Sorry to hear about that trauma you went through, OP.
Well it is not really too late to start so don't worry. Everyone has their own story. You're kind of limiting yourself too much from what I can interpret in what you're saying. You can start everywhere and not just here in the forum actually, even if it is a crypto-related.
2043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Youtube Scam? on: August 18, 2021, 09:41:41 AM
~
Well I've been watching some scambaiters like Kit and they are also baiting those bot-like comments in the comment section. They are indeed scammers, because why would they even tell their secrets in the first place and why nobody in the world got rich due to those.

I never once in my life heard from someone claiming that they got rich from a random comment in Youtube. Roll Eyes
2044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin increase wealth equality? on: August 17, 2021, 08:07:43 PM
~
Making someone rich? Uh no. Bitcoin isn't really that type of stuff that you expect that would give you wealth. Although I am gonna be honest that its value is insane from how it just go all the waaaay up in its price, but again there are people forgetting about what Bitcoin is made for.

Other investments you are mentioning are surely just those shitcoins.
2045  Other / Meta / Re: Are useful links allowed or are they categorically excluded? on: August 17, 2021, 08:12:04 AM
I guess OP's friend is this user SMZ_.
The user only has 3 posts based on the scraped posts - https://loyce.club/archive/members/336/3367517.html

From the scraped post, it seemed like the user copy-pasted a snippet of the medium article including the table of contents. I guess that led to the user's ban?
2046  Other / Meta / Re: Are useful links allowed or are they categorically excluded? on: August 17, 2021, 06:31:28 AM

Well yes it is possible, OP, in fact you must as what others mentioned above.

Adding up all the points above, I would advice to use [url] tag when the link is a really really long one and just insert title of your source in between the tags, especially if the link is outside the forum.
2047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The use of Bitcoin as a local currency! on: August 17, 2021, 06:03:09 AM
~
Maybe for the part of Gen-Zs and Millenials, but the older gen that are governing the world right now would not be able to catch up with the current technology we have today. I highly doubt that literally "all nations" would use Bitcoin actually. There are just too many political issues that other country encounters, and to be specific in one example, corruption.

For sure some government even see cryptocurrency as a medium of money laundering that is why they implement KYC verification when using custodial wallets, I am pretty sure that everyone wouldn't like to do KYC in every transaction they made.
2048  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is your first choice of a bitcoin wallet? on: August 17, 2021, 05:07:57 AM
If you can buy a hardware wallet, get one and use it most of the time.
I only custodial wallets when there is a service that I would like to use along with my Bitcoin, but most of those BTC I bought are being held in desktop wallets specifically Electrum wallet, I've been using that since 2018.

Back then, I thought custodial wallets were a gem, but dang. It was whole a lot of different story when I found out about the strictness of their KYC, while I was wanting to go full pseudonymous.
2049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin prolly gets to 100k dollars, will it still remain a legal tender? on: August 16, 2021, 07:53:45 PM
~
Errr, I don't recall any news saying that Bitcoin was illegalized or was banned as a currency due to its price?
About the 100k price, we can only speculate about that for sure but we need to get first to 60k back before we make that high of a speculation.

I cannot agree with you about Bitcoin "transmogrifying" into some point that it will not be a legal tender, though we can say that it is not a legal tender to some merchants right now, because most merchants right now are still into fiats.
2050  Other / Meta / Re: Scam campaigns should not be allowed to stay on: August 16, 2021, 06:57:49 PM

Good point! The trust ratings is a warning to others to disregard any information put out by a flagged account. But still I don't think the negative flag is enough punishment to deter the participants. Plagiarism is a bannable offence, I think participating in an OPEN scam campaign for the sake of making money deserves the same punishment
Their accounts would be worthless anyway after the tag, since many SCs have the rules of no -ive trust before and during the campaign. Banning them would be a headache, since pretty much they'll make another alt account leading to no resolution. They'll just ban evade for sure afterwards, which is another forum rule.

2052  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful of low marketcap coins on: August 16, 2021, 11:09:39 AM

Well to be specific, you can use CMC for finding out where does a certain coin get traded. I am gonna admit that first time I was dumbfounded on how many coins offer opportunity for me to buy at back in the days, but I don't know where to buy them as well.
The live chart gave me convenience, but somehow it was kind of slow in my phone.
2053  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I wish i knew about Bitcoin before now on: August 16, 2021, 10:40:52 AM

Only thing to do is regret, OP but don't let that get to you. Pretty sure that some of the early adopters are also locked out of their wallets assuming that they are using custodial wallets. No worries about hoping the market will be back in a good price, since it happens all the time, OP. Smiley

I kind of have the same "wish" as you, but what is the point of it if you can't do anything about it anyway? Smiley
Don't overthink into something that you don't have control at.
2054  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 12-Aug-21] on: August 16, 2021, 10:09:33 AM
Betking SC has ended.

Campaign is now closed. Participants may now remove their avatar, personal text and signature. Payments will be sent later today or tomorrow we update here in the thread. Thank you for participating everyone!

Not sure if I would experience the same as you if it was Bitcoin for me back in 2013. Maybe I could have forgotten that I bought 10 BTC that year when it was still like still around 10-15 USD.
Pretty sure I would be locked out as well if I was holding it in a custodial wallet.
2056  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What the forum expect from me and my expectation from the forum on: August 16, 2021, 07:38:18 AM

Welcome to the forum, OP.
I hope you learn a lot here in the forum whether it'd be Bitcoin-related or not. Just follow the mentioned thread below you and you'll be fine.
Also adding up what Rikafip mentioned above me, if you plan on making a thread asking a question about certain thing, please search it first here in the forum before asking. There are many newbies repeating the same question over and over, while it is just one single click of an existing thread away to finding out the answer/s.
2057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin - bull run? on: August 14, 2021, 08:28:01 PM
~
Well technically, no. That means that you're exiting with all your money here in crypto, OP.
Taking profits more like means that you extract your gains from how much capital you invested in the first place. It is more like a trading terminology rather than investment actually, depends on what type of coin were you investing all time along.
2058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentine President sees no reason to oppose Bitcoin adoption on: August 14, 2021, 08:25:59 PM

I don't see why would anyone would see Bitcoin as a threat anyway. If Bitcoin was meant to destroy local currencies then it should already have been able to back in 2010s. People would still be able to transact BTC without taxes through p2p though. The only way that I think that they can get some tax out of every BTC transaction especially in merchants is by using custodial wallets.
2059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About the popularity of Bitcoin on: August 14, 2021, 08:23:52 PM
~
It's not that about programming actually, more like it won't be a software-side that can help those people. It is more like what type of device can help them get access to such.
For the elder people, we have some elders in here, not sure what age do you call "elder", but you know what I mean. We got some veteran members here that are being called elder due to their old age, but they know a lot about Bitcoin. Age does not restrict anyone to learn about Bitcoin.
2060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The more popular Bitcoin is, the more valuable it is? on: August 14, 2021, 07:13:51 PM

Well it connects. It becomes more like fee for people if they use something that cannot be tracked by the government. When you register your business into the authority whatever agency it's called in your country and they know that you adopt Bitcoin, expect taxes from it since you are earning something with the use of crypto. It's not all about the building of infrastracture.
