2061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone know what the most successful whale wallet out there is? on: August 14, 2021, 08:55:24 AM
~
Imagine if Elon Musk just mentioned his BTC address and everyone goes crazy over the amount of Bitcoin he holds. Cheesy

We only have BTC addresses here that holds a lot of BTC, but the person behind it is unknown. Isn't that what Bitcoin is all about? Being pseudonymous if not anonymous? Check bL4nkcode's reply.
2062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The ideology of Bitcoin on: August 14, 2021, 08:51:39 AM
Not everyone is fan of the volatility of the market, this is why we still have many people that are just indecisive when they first bought their coins here in crypto.
And yes, the volatility still comes from the buying and selling, AKA supply and demand, but because Bitcoin is so accessible almost everywhere, everyone in the world could just be whale and cause the price to be manipulated.

Can we also count aliens?  Cheesy

2063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could crypto replace government? on: August 14, 2021, 08:40:24 AM
~
This is kind of similar when people back then discussed if Bitcoin will replace fiat or even gold. Kind of an absurd thread to discuss at back in the days, because Bitcoin is not regulated by anybody and government is all by means of regulation/s taking only the word itself.
From the looks of it, it will only exist along with fiat and government would still be there because otherwise there would be anarchy. Cheesy
2064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The risks of using Bitcoin on: August 14, 2021, 08:30:55 AM
The money laundering somehow gets controlled by the government by doing KYC verification. I had seen that quite a lot when using any custodial wallet involving crypto. That is what they fear of.
Though at some point, I wouldn't let anyone get hold of my money anyway. I wouldn't send it to anyone that is surely not part of what I am aware of interacting at everyday.
2065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why on earth do you own bitcoin? on: August 13, 2021, 07:49:19 PM
~
Well aren't many be like that anyway. I invested in Bitcoin for both of the reasons that I can use it to pay and I can invest on it as well.
Back then I was like wanting to own those cards issued by the bank whether whatever you call it, dr or cr cards. Good thing I discovered Bitcoin first because I just realize how harsh it is to be under by a bank rather than just have Bitcoin on your own wallet without involving anyone.
2066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The more popular Bitcoin is, the more valuable it is? on: August 13, 2021, 07:47:15 PM
The thread compilation that the OP made isn't really about the "popularity",  but pretty much it points out on how viable it is for such uses in different scenarios. One mentioned in one of the thread is about the payment of Bitcoin as a salary. Pretty much that has been happening quite a while now, although it is not getting reported that much but it is expected to be anytime soon. I even recall one boss of a company wanting the paycheck of one of his employee to be paid back because the price of Bitcoin just went ^^^^^.

From the reference of your feedback, your identity/personal information is not a valid collateral.  Have you considered reading what are the valid collaterals here? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577765.msg6311902#msg6311902 before even creating that thread.

This is pretty much a "trust me bro, I am legit." loan.

P.S: move to meta!
I think it fits more in Reputation.
2068  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Express what you think to know better on: August 13, 2021, 07:34:25 PM
~
Uh no, OP. Not at all times.
It is kind of annoying if there are those users that don't use the search feature here in the forum, and just directly post a question.
It does not encourage any single conversation, since pretty much the answer is already here around the forum.
How about encourage them to search first before asking question, OP? Smiley

Maybe asking questions that asks for an opinion about certain stuff would be good. I would love to have a small conversation inside a thread. Smiley
2069  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading skills and strategies on: August 13, 2021, 08:27:30 AM

Doing the youtube tutorials alone won't do. It is like learning how to program by just watching crash courses out there. You need to exactly do something and your mistakes will determine on how much you learn. Not sure what you mean by encrypted sites and encrypted indicators though, surely all those indicators like Bollinger Band and RSI would be enough for you to learn the ropes already in trading.
2070  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I start trading? on: August 13, 2021, 08:24:07 AM
~
No. The condition of the market could be different when they were doing it than when you were doing it. I would advise you to listen closely to whatever tutorial you were following.
I did the same about 'copy trading' in tutorial and of course it wasn't all profit. Cryptojack was the one Youtuber I watched back then but his tutorials could be outdate right now or irrelevant.
2071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still have thoughts of picking Gold over Bitcoin, read this. on: August 13, 2021, 08:14:44 AM
Well just because it is volatile does not make it not manageable. There are just those people going crazy over the "volatile" price of Bitcoin making them think that they'll easily lose their money.
Sure, they'll lose their money if they had invested everything in their stash but if they just invest something that they don't mind losing, it's manageable.
Oh and gold is regulated as well. I don't want anyone involved when I hold my investment. My money, my responsibility. I don't want any other authorities involved.
2072  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency scam tricks newbies might fall for. on: August 13, 2021, 08:02:10 AM

Got one scammer attempting to lead me into their phishing site. I remember it was one of the airdrops I joined to test how would it go.
Turns out they attempted to convince me that I am into their legitimate copy-pasted MEW site, because that is what I usually use when I hold tokens from some ICO back in the days.
I reported the site from their web hosting service and it got taken down immediately. The thread here was gone though.
2073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first bitcoin shopping on: August 12, 2021, 08:10:54 PM

I wouldn't mind trying buying pizza. Buying pizza was discussed a lot of times in here and I was kind of looking forward to buy it with my Bitcoins as well. I might not be able to hold the tempt, but now that you mentioned it also the risks though. So far my only options to buy some merchs for now is by using custodial wallet which isn't really the best option considering the privacy that I want when I use my money, but my country isn't really adopting Bitcoin that much at least at some non-metropolitan area.

Not surprised if OP decides to buy Lambo tomorrow though. Cheesy
2074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what you worst experience on crypto on: August 12, 2021, 08:05:44 PM

Curious to how this happened though, could you tell us more what exactly happened? $600 is obviously a lot and you know you should be careful to what you're about to click next.
Did you manage to get back though?
2075  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Social media's impact to the growth of crypto currency on: August 12, 2021, 08:03:24 PM
~

In my very opinion and in addition to personal observations and research lately, as far as cryto currency updates, articles and news continue to command a dominant position on social media news feeds I believe that in the future the relationship and the impact of social media on crypto currency can only keep getting better. Although this impact seems to be vice versa.
It's hell of a circus when you scroll around Twitter that are crypto-related. Lots of dummy accounts spreading FUDs and shilling their own shitcoins. There are still some portion where I read legitimate conversation though, but expect that when a celebrity and crypto meets there will be hell of a mixed feelings in the Replies section.

In Facebook, don't get me started again. I only wanted to read crypto news from a page dedicated to crypto news and thoughts by other people in the comments, but all I get is this.
2076  Economy / Reputation / Re: Red Trust Signature Campaign on: August 12, 2021, 07:57:28 PM
~
We can only hope, because there are also bounties that do not mind letting participants that have negative trust to join their campaign. Even if scam moderation was possible in the first place, they'll just keep coming back with their alt account/s and that would be hell of a headache for the mods here in the forum without getting into the desired resolution.

The same could be said to those who have higher ranks, and not just newbies. I recall a certain non-newbie member trying to get his tag removed but it was already too late.

Quote
"Warning: One or more bitcointalk.org users have reported that they strongly believe that the creator of this topic is a scammer. (Check their trust page to see the detailed trust ratings.) While the bitcointalk.org administration does not verify such claims, you should proceed with extreme caution."

This warning isn't even that hard to get noticed. It's obvious that they're after the money more than their reputation. They don't mind earning "dirty money".
2077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto market adds over $140 billion in one day on: August 12, 2021, 09:13:24 AM

Well expect the reaction to every emotion. Some people are too "immersed" to their money in crypto. I recall the emotional effects of crypto that made someone do something inappropriate to him/herself.
2078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a safe haven? on: August 12, 2021, 07:44:59 AM
~
Well gold is surely regulated by Feds and I am not sure how you would feel that your investment is under monitored by authorities. It is not your gold in the first place, and anytime they would take it away from you.
In Bitcoin, it is your own money unless you use custodial wallets which is the usual "Not your keys, not your coins".
2079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About the popularity of Bitcoin on: August 12, 2021, 07:23:01 AM
~
Well that is just now the problem of those people themselves that they have still control at.
Disabled people do not have the control to their disability and they would need to just adapt to their current condition. I would say those who get easily get their coins stolen are simply the uninformed people, because in general nobody wants their money stolen anyway.
2080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin in the highest level of trust? on: August 12, 2021, 07:17:53 AM

That is the only drawback actually. Every code is still open for another well-written one. From the whole years that Bitcoin ran, it does not seem to be that the code will be a problem now these days.
It is that some countries are prohibiting their people to use it.
