Just stay away from LTCgear if you don't trust it  Smiley I will laugh at all of you when I sit on my golden toilet next year  Cheesy (joking of course haha)

Golden toilet ? Your taste is sure weird, Erik Grin.

Just an update, PM exchange with Dev (timestamps are accurate):

hi slimcoin dev,

there is still a huge interest in the novelty of your coin, hash rate is at a peak, bter has been on an uprise, and the community clearly believes there's room for growth.

so far there has been 2 other devs who already contributed code and effort to improve the client. we've also raised nearly 7K SLM for bounties and giveaways.

we are planning to perform a hard fork soon to disable PoS and sync-checkpoints, increment the protocol version to kick out misbehaving clients (this has been identified as a major bugbear on resources and we've issued a temporary fix), and to update a miscellany of issues that has been identified since. you can check out our fork and commits at github.com/kryptoslab/slimcoin.

also, at the point of the hard fork I will likely issue a ReAnn so that I can edit the OP, and work on rallying the community to continue the development.

would like to know your plans for SLM so we can synchronise our efforts!

Hello,

As I have posted before, the reason I "left" this project is some other stuff came up. I say "left" as I still follow its development on the forum. I did state I could do basic maintenance, of which was to hold the central sync node up. I have absolutely no problems with you forking this project, in fact, it would be of great delight to me if you did so. I can offer you assistance in navigating the PoB code and making you a reddit administrator for /r/Slimcoin. As for development, I have nothing much planned in the short termed future.

-P4Titan

Nice. It would be the best if slimcoin old dev could give you the login data so you could freely change the content of the OP. I'm looking forward for the future of Slimcoin.

I have orders 6 weeks old which are still on "processing". I think it is a manual and super-low-priority task of Chris
to put orders from processing to completed  Cheesy

All orders in processing mode are actually completed. It's just a cosmetic bug and I don't think Chris should waste his time to fix it. Wink
As long as payout is made, we could be careless about this Grin

I wish everyday should be Friday Cheesy
564  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining profit on: October 23, 2014, 06:49:36 PM
I'm aware of your concerns but you can't deny the fact that his service's running flawlessly over one year, much longer than others well-known competitors. Not to mention that a lot of his customers  were getting ROI already.
Yes high risk and huge return investment indeed. Don't invest the money you can't afford to lose there.
Anyway it's still better than invest in many altcoins right now.

That's not an incredible achievement if they were around for over a year. I've seen people claim to have reached ROI with different providers in less than 4 months.

You sure don't do the math. ROI with ltcgear less than 2 months.

If they are on the market for a year, there should be people who quadrupled their LTCG investment by now.
When someone tells you "give me the money and I will double your investment in less than 2 months" he most likely wants to scam you Wink

ltcgear price is not cheap before. They just recently reduce the price to < 6$ / 1mhs with the new generation of chip. Yes I don't know whether someone who quadrupled their investment, but people who doubled their investment are a lot.
I rather do not give my money to a company who spent a lot for PR stuffs. Who paid 1m$ for btc.com actually ? Be my guest Wink

Doubling your investment isn't anything big right now. A lot of people achieved it with other cloud providers, but promising to do it in 2 months is an obvious lie and an attempt to gather more sheep Smiley
And what does PR have to do with any of it?

How did you know that it's a lie ? A lot of people got it already. No extravagant PRs mean reducing costs, better price for customers.

As for now there are really not many option for people who wants to invest in solid and secure cloud mining. Some lesser known companies which can scam you are a no - no for me.

Nothing is actually "solid and secure".
You don't like it, it's fine, but no need to call it scam, because still no scam exists with ltcgear.
Mod or OP please close the thread, no need to discuss this matter anymore.

After 1 week of PoB, I've lost 449.6 SLMs to decay but gained 3719.9 from PoB, so that's a rather respectable 8.27x gain ratio. As more people burn this ratio will go down, of course. I assume this would tend to 1 in the long run, though people aren't likely to burn if the return is like just 2x or 3x, unless we get a lot of transaction fees.

That's also roughly equivalent to a PoW hash rate of 750KHs, based on the current hash rate and difficulty. That's like around 600 CPU cores, running off an initial 49152 SLM investment and a 32USD Raspberry Pi.

Thought this might be useful snapshot to paint the potential of PoB!

And the price tends to rise back to it's former height too.
You can't simply buy 50k SLM from exchange now without pushing the price to 2,3x.

I have paid in 8 hours after order creating. The payment have been processed automatically.

I just paid for a Dual Mod M10 pack order from 2 days ago, let's see if this works, I was curious, I had to try...

1566626571ac29a882bdca87ac35f442aa657729015bb031525a005a7d755d59-000

Currently out of stock though. Good luck!

It didn't work

Don't try to pay for old orders...  Wink
well i have paid after 3 days and emailed chris and he manually processed the order.

I'm sure Chris is fine doing it as a one off...  I've messaged him through the web form, he'll take care of it soon.

I've got 6 more dual mod 10 packs "On-Hold" that I let pass, they are from a week ago, he'd start getting the shits if I started paying those down now...

Ehh you're playing with fire, I told you mate. xD
568  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining profit on: October 23, 2014, 09:05:22 AM
ltcgear just happens to have more superior tech than any asics company now.

I believe that is correct.

I hope some one from LTCgear cut the shit shat and provide us withe some real tech info about their farm. At least transparency make more sales.

Yep I agree about the transparency part. But another problem might prevent the scaling of the farm when you have too many customers. Then a lot of expenses need to be spent, so you can't keep the best price anymore. Otherwise transparency in this case might cause harm for the owner too since everyone in the world knows who he is and where he is, and he's in charge of thousand BTCs. I would not reveal my identity if I had much BTCs.
569  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining profit on: October 23, 2014, 07:43:52 AM
the problem that make all this hard to believe is the MH price, we will not find an asic with the price of 5 Mh is the market (We are not counting power and other expenses). Unless they have a secret asic power which they are keep secret to use on their farm.

If the Zeus volcano does get released in December you have your $5/Mhash hardware right there which is the sales price and not the price to manufacture one.
If Zeus or anyone else already has their hands on these chips or similiar ones then it would definetly be possible  Smiley

LTCgear or any other site could be mining on multipools or other coins which are more profitable then LTC to gain a share of the income, this could make the shares sustainable.
These are all assumptions of course, only time will tell  Wink

?? You heard about bitmaintech ?
https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020140830074550960Um75pnzg06E3

Deliver in Dec with 5$/1mhs. And they are legit company.

Mt.Gox was also running for over a year until it blew in our faces.

Did you read my statement above?

If we're sure 100% about things like that, I would loan a shitload of money to invest in this. No one forces you to invest in it.

Looks to me like their payouts are being pumped up to gather more greedy investors and bail.
They could still sell their shares if thir payouts were lower, but the higher they are the more people will be willing to pay.
As the old saying goes if something looks too good to be true it probably is Wink

You could not say that better. I get the impression that this LTC cloud mining is initial attack aimed at greedy investors who are willing to bet on it. After great beginning and good starting payouts it is going to collapse like a house of cards. I am a bit wary of trusting LTC. As you say - too good to be true.

The fact that the rate of new posts in this forum has slowed significantly is proof positive that this crapcoin is so OVER with.
It's both hilarious and kinda sad that you continue to post in this forum. How about you just move on?

Don't worry trolls like this are overall in this forum. I bet all my BURST that he will come back harder and even beg for some BURST if BURST back to 1k sat.

No wonder I keep missing it. Okay, registered the page with http://www.changedetection.com/. Let's see if it alerts me in enough time.   Cheesy

I've been trying to get some Dual Mods for weeks. Let's see if this week is any better.

I was trying to get one too but I gave up for camping it.

You know they make browser plugins that will check pages for you and alert you when it changes... It's 2014 dudes, get with the times.

Here a nice plugin to monitor the page if you use chrome

An order in a family member account was just processed for a 1k6x pack.   The only problem is that the order was filled twice, 3200 shares instead 1600.   Has this happened to anyone else.   The contact form was used to alert LTCgear to the problem.   Hopefully that is good.   I'm not a thief and I don't want anyone in my family to be a thief either, even if they didn't try to be.  Grin

Wow. Thanks dyask.
Keep us inform about this matter. Quite serious bug I think.

We didn't hear back from Chris yet, but another user ran into this before and it is a know bug.  The balances are corrected at payout time.   That makes me feel a lot better.   I'll let everyone know when I do hear from Chris.

If it was only a bug showing the wrong number then Chris might not pay attention much to it.

After orders expire, they sit in your account "On-Hold" forever?

Anyone tried paying the BTC address after the 3 hours?

Does it work?

Chris if your order is in on-hold mode forever after the payment, even if the exact amount (exact to 8 digits), then drop Beekeeper an email with your details, he will change your order to processing mode. It might take a while too since he gets alot of similar emails.

No these are one's that I let go, wondering if they would work now.

A friend of mine paid a part of these orders, and then paid it full 10 days later because he had some problems with BTC funds. Then he contacted Beekeeper and described his problem. After a while ( 1 week I think) he still get his order credited. But to avoid stress for both Beekeeper and you, I suggest don't do that.
