641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CACH] CACHeCoin released based on scrypt-jane on: October 11, 2014, 07:47:34 AM
As expected...

Sad, and I wonder how many people have lost their money through this fiasco. Personally I still don't think kalgecin has some connections with Jasin.

They are very connected, and if you read this thread you'd see it, although behind the scenes is interesting too.

I think he's just too naive and believe in Jasin.
Look at here, the wealthy business owner with 10$ / h price LOL. LMAO.

I predict a dump and run...he's closed the account and predict he'll be covering his tracks soon.  Whether he was complicit or not a shit storm is coming your way K.  glad I dumped the coin.

You're lucky. A lot of my friends are stucked in this shit, many of them lost more than 100BTC. Myself should consider be lucky too with "only" 5BTC lost.

Oh man I need to see the farm payment details for this week!  Cheesy to damn excited! hehe

Still not available Wink He's sure late today.

What are the different cutoffs? I mean for example if I bought shares two days ago, when it the payout due, today or in a week? Or if I change the payout address, when does the change kick in? Or if I change payout coin or change it to share, when does it kick in?

Friday, GMT, should be cutoff. So if you buy shares Thursday, u get paid for the entire week. Neat ha?
Beekeeper for president!!!

It's not. I bought the last Thurday and on Friday I got paid for 2 days.
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Review (and Journal) of LTCGear (LTC/FTC, DRK & VTC mining farm) || ROI Calc on: October 10, 2014, 03:29:00 PM
Well, as i've mentioned here many times and on the calc itself, the data on the calc is still a work in progress for the more volatile diff coins like DRK & FTC... which is why I didn't cite it. As posted before, new DRK estimating was implemented Mon, so part of the week probably won't be good but waiting to see payout page to see how this new method performed.

Go look back on your own, from like Aug-Mid Sept VTC returns were very nice and DRK were terrible.

I agree that the diff of DRK is pretty hard to track. No offense in my question at all, sorry if you do feel like this.

who is following on poloniex / Bittrex?

As long as I still see 90% of new posts here are mining related, as an investor, I would not buy.
People are just ignorant to see that.

i think if there arn't update quikly, the coin still go down...

nobody here is interested to let burst value growth and invest in to... but just to mine the coin.

You see that ? All the posts except our posts are all about mining. No wonder we don't get new investors anymore.
Wrong.
I'm mining and haven't sold a single Burst.. Also have bought few...

Thanks. But unfortunately except you, others are only interested in mining now. What a waste for such a nice coin.

So the dual mod's are worth it if you can catch them in stock?

It's really just a personal choice of strategy... right now 3200 qASICS mining LTC is earning a slight bit more DualMODS.... but the LTC only earnings slowly degrade pretty predictably over time (even with multiplication)...

Until recently VTC has been outperforming everything and DRK was terrible to mine... this week there's more parity between DRK & VTC...

I think it's just a diversification thing... at least for me... plus I like the 2 coins that you get from DualMODs.

Your calc tool says otherwise:
LTC+DRK: 0.6997 BTC/week
LTC+VTC: 0.6016 BTC/week

Some data wrong ?

I don't think any of us will truely ever stop. I personally have stopped GPU mining for the moment till I replace my PC around Christmas time. But I am still leaving burst to mine. Got to be doing something!

if we all stop, the coin will return profit  Grin

Blocks all accesses from China for all mining related nodes, we will be fine again LOL.

Watch this folks - it's an absolutely textbook home run, stunning performance by Andreas Antonopolis.

The guy is Mr "honed response" and fires each point home with the deadly precision. Exceeds the Pope's capacity for infallibility under cross examination IMO. Utterly amazing plus really informative - he gets an applause from the Senators at the end of it.

Those guy's jaws were on the floor.

I'd imagine that any VC watching this who's remotely concerned with financial services capital is going to be quaking with desperation to get into the space after watching this.

5) Spread the word. I know we all want to get some bursts in our pockets before the big pump! I want that too and say "ehi, I became rich with an hard disk! *evil laugh*", but there will be no pump if we keep on going like this. We need the Dev and the supporters beign a little more present and start to tweak old features, instead of continuously focus on developing new ones. There is no need in having 5-6 different miners and 5-6 different pools. We are 3K miners more or less, not 300K! Try to talk to each other and come up with a single, easy-to-use (i.e. idiot proof!) miner and merge some of the pools. Dev, what's the point in having Dev1 (old) and Dev2? Remove both and go for a Dev3 with some graphic and search function to see how each miner is progressing. To all, update the "how it works" I still see a lot of spelling errors and wrong information!

The point of dev1 was originally to get a pool running as quickly as possible, even though it was not a good setup. When dev1 was created and launched, reward assignment had not been made yet, so users had to generate plots to addresses held by the pool. This means that users mining there cannot use those plot files on other pools. Replotting with the newer and faster plotters likely isn't an issue for most, however enough users have expressed concern about wanting to continue using it as is that it doesn't make sense to force them off or alter things. Regarding your dev3 suggestion, I doubt most people would rather have me tinkering with pools instead of working on features, and graphics are not a strength of mine.

Where is the dev?? 5 days now without a damn post here. Even just a heads up on how things are going would suffice - we now he has been online and answering PMs, time he showed up here too.
I wonder... Have you ever been in contact with a dev of something in general? Or have you been developing something by your own?
I generally update my customers when, uhm... when I have an update. Programming isn't easy, it takes time and a lot of patience. Sometimes I'm so tired I don't even want to see a keyboard for 3 days (but I do, my job, dammit!)
5 days are nothing. I agree that some updates could be announced or advertised with some kind of "Dev newsletter", but as I said in my previous post: this is a WIP coin. Give time to everyone. Last feature was released 5 days ago. Don't panic, everything will settle Smiley
The past week has admittedly not been great for progress. I was originally planning on trying to quickly roll out subscriptions(reoccurring transactions), and then move onto other things. Most of subscriptions was implemented, however I halted it to reconsider some things when I realized that the initial implementation would make it way too easy and cheap for someone to set up payments that would rapidly send a few coins back and forth between 2 accounts forever, increasing processing load for the whole network. I spent a bit of time looking at java dht libraries to see if there was anything I liked that I could utilize instead of working from scratch. I ended up deciding that I'm best off making it myself. I also was taking a look at the android sdk to see about starting a fairly basic thin client. I had not used the android sdk before, and had a bit of a rough start, and made the mistake of trying(and failing repeatedly) to integrate zxing qr scanner into an app instead of calling the seperate app.

Thanks dev. Sent you a donation as token of my thank.
Keep up good work.

Can someone please help me figure this VTC/DRK thing? I have a few ASIC shares and no mods. Does it mean I can't set my payments to Vertcoin or Darkcoin? What happens if I set my coin choice to one of those? I read the first post and if I got it right I need to by a Dual Mod, but there are none available at the shop

Thanks in advanced guys

EDIT: ok, I think I got it. You buy a mod so a certain amount of shares can be used to mine VTC (Scrypt-N mod) or DRK (X11 mod) but those are not subject to multiplication, right?

You need to be patient. DualMOD got quite fast out of stock. I have waited 2 weeks in order to get one.

Some chap is selling shares in x11 ASICS...

I wonder if it's legit...

How did he nailed it? There is not even a whitepaper draft? 1 : 1 clone i bet. The specifications are literally made for pump and dump. Grin

656  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: October 09, 2014, 12:58:51 PM
I know this is not the thread for such non technical analysis, but how about some selling pressure from banksters et al with load of cash? I mean, they must know we are coming for them, so they may want to try to dry out our hope in bitcoin? Not that the price has impacted the hard bitcoiners, only the late comers that indeed invested @500-700$?

This is pure speculation but i think that the previous big crashes from 260 to 35 or 35 to 2$ did not required a lot of money and could definitely be explained by human psychology, bitcoin being relatively new at that time, but now that it went to +1000$, we surely are even more confident about its potential. Hence, big bagholders are somehow trying to refrain the next bubble momentum in order to somehow buy more time or even accumulate huge bitcoin position? Gold is collapsing, stocks too, just not teh dollar, i just find it sort of weird.. Especially knowing the US economy is just a joke, disconnected from any fundamentals, on the verge of implosing and only sustained by professionnal scammers and manipulators with money printers..
If you want success with trading - never try to figure out other participants mind. You will never know. They just act. Like me and you and all. You better try to figure out what happens with your mind. Learn what is going on with you - not others.

Wow how could I miss this wonderful thread. Best said ever !

hey guys, is there any new ccminers? ones specficailly made for the new gtx 980 and 970?

I'm using CC miner 1.2 (keccak) , i'm assuming that was the latest
hmm ccminer 1.2 doesn't contain keccak as a standalone algo

I think cudaminer keccak is faster on 980 (but I am not entirely sure two sharewe found at 500MH/s actually I don't know if it was only one gtx980 or the two...)

ccminer works for me, But i guess the answer is there isn't any really recent version, or one optomized for the new cards yet

660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 09, 2014, 10:51:57 AM
Something isn't right here. Over 2 Million Burst was dumped earlier today - 1.9 Million by the same person, and the dumps are still coming. Worse than a falling price is losing big whales like that - gives a very negative signal to prospective investors that 'big money' feels they made a profitable decision dumping at 130 Satoshi therefore it must be expected to fall below that. Sort of like that massive 15BTC dump on Swift - triggered the down trend. Difference is we havent been pumped and another downtrend now would not be good for the long term survival of the coin. It's cripplingly difficult to make up lost ground in the sense that if we fall to 100 Sat it will take a 500% increase in market cap to get us back up to a 'low but fair' price of 500 sat; we can forget about 1000 Sat if it touches 100 Sat - at least for the medium term.

Any way we can get the multipool up and running again? If we can soak up 2 or 3 BTC worth of Burst per day we might still be able to get this thing on an upwards movement.

Yes finally a nice post. To be honest 2mil BURST is not big at all (given the price now). I even know some people who hold > 20mil BURST. The problem exists and we must face it. The most innovative part of BURST is its mining technique, so I understand why people ask about it a lot. But unfortunately it's not enough. To survive as an established coin longterm we need more. PR, educating people about the greatness of HDD mining, merchant acceptances, new unique features. The dev could help at the last part, and for god's sake please let's him focus his strength on this. The other parts muss come from us. If we could build a great community like DRK, BURST in explode. The price will come after, it's just a natural flow.

Excuse me....2mill is 2 thirds of the burst mined in a day....

Excuse me? The one with > 20mil BURST could easily dump the market to 1sat now.
With 200mil BURSTs in circulation now, why should be panic if 1% of total coin was dumped on the market ?

I'm not panicking, all i'm saying is that if this keeps up, the 2 thirds dumping, well then we're in a spot of trouble.

Given the money which invest in HDD to mine now, I don't think BURST will go away soon. Price only reflects the short term trend. With BURST you can't not simply "switch your rigs to mine something else" if it becomes unprofitable, right ? As long as people keep mining, there will be a demand. The best for the coin now is stop wasting your time for mining related stuffs, I honestly think we have more than enough pools right now. Better is to focus time and your creative mind on improving other aspects of the coin.
