way to know is waitting white paper and will be had tomorrow.
Even the white paper could be a fairy tale. Haven't we seen that too many times in the past? What really counts are the real features, that work.
I don't really understand what is supporting the hefty marketcap. Newbie dev with huge premine and (for now) empty promises - it is as if the last 6 months in crypto are ignored for this coin.

every project may has the same part of white paper and i suppose that is normal. but the point is not on the whole (white paper), but on the innovation - POM, hefty, and other things we don't know yet.

newbie? so what? one thing is the profit that it brings to us.  Wink Wink
Just to make it clear - hefty1 is not the innovation, it was taken from another coin called heavycoin.
POM for now is a fairy tale. This coin has no features yet and even after the white paper there will be no features. And the dev is spending his time on his pool instead of letting the pool business to trusted third-party providers like suprnova - that doesn't create trust in the capabilities of this dev. Given that the whole valuation is built upon trust and expectations it seems odd to have such high hopes for someone who didn't prove anything yet.

Try to research yourself before spreading FUD. This coin was backed by a game studio (small though), and their product was demonstrated many times.

if more POC coins would come out, he would have an advantage position for sure

like every coin, the best profit is at launch

No POC makes it hard to decide. You can't just switch over / jump between coins like PoW. Imaging you spent 1 week to plot 10TB for BURST and right after you finish another PoC-coin comes out. What to do? Delete your plots and plot the new coin? I doubt. PoC is really made to be long-term mining coin.

who said that the next poc will be based on plots? maybe on HDD speed? or on space but without generating plots, but other things

Based on HDD speed ? LOL Do you live in fiction world ?
Such an innovative coin won't come out every 6 months. I doubt the next PoC coin will implement the new kind of PoC. If BURST becomes big, cloner will clone almost the same specs of it, only change a few variables.

i don't think that it's so impossible to make it really, we are in 2014 with fancy things in space, and we can't make a coin based on HD speed? LMAO

you just use the speed of your HD to mine, what's so hard about that to implement? and it's actually better than wasting space

I didn't say that's difficult to implement, but rather it's too easy to cheat. Why not using speed of your download/upload bandwidth ? LOL.
You need to waste something in order to achieve Proof. That's the basic idea of Proof concept.

Total of 37 TB plotted across 8 HDD is completed. Estimated Average of 27.5K Burst from tomorrow onward. At rate of 0.00000355* 27.5K, tomorrow I'm should receive 0.097625 BTC to my BTC-E account. POC forever.

2 New PCs are set up and now waiting for my 12 HDD each of 6TB to arrive in next few days.

Why do you keep spamming with this?

It does get annoying after a while. 12x 6TB, that's about $3600 after taxes. At the current rate, if it stay the same, he'll only make about $500~$700 for 30 days after ROI. Everyone knows that the network storage is growing everyday.

Yes ROI of buying HDD will increase dramatically like GPU. Last year everyone bought GPU to mine because ROI at that time was less than 50 days. After two weeks, it increased to 180 days and you know the number after 4 weeks.
Btw, I know some people with over 100TB and they never brag about this. Buying 6TB HDD is wasting your money. 2x3TB is much cheaper.  And the word "forever" is being overused here too LOL.
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CACH] CACHeCoin released based on scrypt-jane on: September 12, 2014, 10:40:23 AM
Supernet is interesting, however, we feel that a more permanent solution is necessary to resolve cross platform communication. And since we're rewriting the whole communication protocol between the cache wallets to make it more simple and use less bandwidth, it may not be compatible with the other bitcoin clones. rpc calls will still have the same structure so services won't have to re-adapt, new calls may be added to make things easier.

Well he mentioned about the hype. It makes any honest investor to think that he will dump his stash soon as soon as the price rises.
787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Jesse Livermore: Whale Watcher - Creator of JLTRADINGCOIN on ClearingHouse on: September 12, 2014, 10:30:13 AM

loved the graph. is there a rule you stick to for when to trade out of a rising position? like out a percentage based one or do you watch for a change in the trend?

Initially I have the targets in mind, which are typically previous recently-made close-by spike-up highs, followed by further out spike-up highs further in the past on volume.
If, however, the position has a ridiculously high amount of volume in its rise, like higher volume than has been seen in the recent past, I stick it out and wait for a sell signal to form in the form of red volume candles following large green candle spike-ups.
If you look at the calls I made in XC, VRC and CLOAK you can see the large red volume candles which developed after large green candles. The large red candles were essentially the whale-pumpers finishing getting out of the position while the newbie traders were buying in large amounts at the precise wrong time. During that time you also see the sentiment on the BCT forum for the coin suddenly turn into 'we're the next Bitcoin' and other ridiculously bullish sentiments.
It's very much an art-form if the position has this kind of momentum whereas the initial target is pretty scientific and simple. Hopefully this all makes sense.

JL

All newbie traders should watch this thread. Shut up and learn from JL.
Btw the whale-pumpers will start to hate you, JL.

Thanks for your insightful comment.
788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [MLS] MozzShare | Released | New Combination of Mobile Platform and Digit on: September 12, 2014, 09:34:43 AM

Sell now and cry later. I sold 100k of MLS at 200 sat and look at the price now. It doesn't make sense when you don't sell at 2k sat and now believe in some Tweets and sold at 1k sat, esp. that the block reduction coming soon. Remember this coin has very stable growth. Did you ever see a coin with less than 50 pages in BCT and still having an average volume of at least 5 BTC daily for weeks? Not to mention that MLS is on c-cex only. The current buy support is far more enough to keep the current price. If you want to sell, DYOR and wait for adding @bittrex and the whitepaper at least.

790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - alcurEX - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor on: September 10, 2014, 01:59:19 PM
I think it's pretty much time to add PoS for microCoin.
Because wallet is heavy to load and no one seems to know how to solve it, I propose to build new wallet using newer source.
I will make demo and if MRC community like it, we can make hardfork or swich coins with 1:1 rate.
Do we still want to mining it, or do we start with PoS only?

Finally halibit has an answer. But where is the dev? Actually with current blockreward, PoS would be a better option because almost nobody wants to waste energy mining MRC anymore. Sounds harsh but true.
791  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: Hot Coins on: September 10, 2014, 11:25:01 AM

CryptoCobain is in Super ? Nur das Gerücht reicht aus um es nach Himmel zu pumpen. Ich wuerde aber vorsichtig forschen. Trotzdem danke fuer dein Tipps.
792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: September 09, 2014, 01:36:00 PM

No, if he doesn't like this, he should buy another card. You aren't promised a card that takes overclocks well, you're promised a card that functions at the clocks it is set to at the factory. Doing an RMA because your card doesn't OC as well as you want is a shitty thing to do, because you're wasting the manufacturer's time and money - which has a large effect on your fellow miners, because those of us who have cards that are actually defective in some way have to wait in line behind the fuckers trying to get lucky with the silicon lottery without "buying tickets," so to speak.

I must admit that you are right. But still a lot of OCers are still doing that. I won't overclock my cards so I don't care much about the clock. Just my suggestion.
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: September 09, 2014, 08:56:04 AM
2 Nvidia rigs, exactly the same hardware and software, mining x11, 6 x 750ti GA Blacks:

First one, happy as, clocked a little:

Second one, cracks the shits as soon as I wanna clock even a little bit:

They both even have the same BIOS image.

Wipe it clean and start again with drivers/cuda/visual studio etc?

Even same cards from same manufacture might have different RAM, or different circuit/board. If you don't like this you should RMA and try to get another bulk.
794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCN] Cryptonite | 1st mini-blockchain coin | M7 PoW | No Premine on: September 09, 2014, 08:50:40 AM
I have already suggested thr idea to james, he was interested and personlly brought up a few XCN. but I can understand how bittfreak is a bit sceptical, as btcd has nothing released yet, nothing functional.

But in my mind, btcd and xcn would be a perfect combination, no blockchain bloat combined with anon. Perfect

Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to witness James's coding skill, but his marketing skill is truly outstanding as a coder. I read his SuperNet whitepaper yesterday and still can't believe it comes from a coder. Yes to be honest one side of mine is hungry to buy the Token, but another side is just sceptical too.
795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New multipools on: September 09, 2014, 08:33:04 AM
While I'm getting ready for Storj when beta is out, I decided to play with burst a bit.
I've read a lot of this thread and most things are pretty clear, but I have 2 questions remaining.
How do you tell the java miner to consider plots present on a different drive letter (windows)?  can someone point me to the syntax for this?
When I downloaded the plot.exe for windows to a sandbox using chrome, it complained of malware and suspended the download, why?
thanks

- You need to copy the java miner to the disk you want to generate plots, the miner always generate plots on plots folder of current path. Pretty easy fix to change this, but I don't think it's a priority.
- False positive is pretty standard today with miner stuffs, don't you think? Wink
I was wondering about mining, not plot generation.  is it possible to run one miner instance but have it read plotted files from multiple drives?
I typically don't trust anything that says click here to download regardless of false positives.  How come the Linux plotter is linked on OP but windows is not?

Sorry I misread your question. But in general these 2 tools work in the same manner.
- The java miner won't work with multiple folders. In Linux you could use symlink and it works for me, I dunno Windows will work with linking ? I don't have Windows so I can't test. In worst case you just copy the miner to your other places and start it from there.
- The plot from dcct is originally written for Linux. Someone provides a binary for Windows so of course you should be cautious. Sorry but I can't help you with this question.

797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET - ICO conducted by BTER + ... on: September 08, 2014, 09:58:28 AM
Well generally I won't join any overhype ICO like this, but James might be the new Marc Zuckerberg or Bill Gates, the coder who understands how cooperate works. In fact I have seen many brilliant coders, but a coder with such marketing skill is pretty rare. I've never seen a coder who spent so much time on marketing than coding either.
But everything is still in the speculative phase. I will take the standby mode.
Another thing might be important for James as well as I notice that Supernet is the trademark of Vodafone NZ
http://help.vodafone.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/18812/~/what-is-vodafones-supernet%3F

I wonder if your project goes mainstream you could have some problems with this giant company. The best is to check it now.

Aizen

I just want to make a small announce if you missed it :

You can find my "new" ccminer fork for blake (NEOS and SFR) and blakecoin here :

This algo seems to report nice hashrates on pools, and ive put inside a protection to prevent useless recomputing of the same blocks.
GPU Usage seems limited à 90% with small pauses when the pool does not send new jobs, which reduce the Card(s) heat.

Reminder: SFR (SaffronCoin) wallet has a bridge to buy coins via Paypal, its nice to play with some money on exchanges.. promising

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=770064

Wow nice. I will ask whether djm could merge your changes in his next release. Thanks.

it depends if talk is right, and if those results scale with mining performance.
If so, the gtx 980 is the same as 3 750ti's power wise.

performance wise a 780 is 3 750ti's, and a 980 is 1.3 times a 780, making a 980 the equivalent to 4 750ti's and the power usage of 3, plus only a single slot card

I may be wrong but that's how i see things, although i do think their graph is most likely incorrect

That is awesome isn't it?

Do we have any idea what the 980 may retail for?

Under $500 USD is probably wishful thinking...

Prepare to sell all your AMD farm, mate Cheesy

A new coin with the thread in BCT less than 30 pages, but the volume trading is excess 5BTC daily. Amazing. It seems like a lot of people believe in this.
800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAC] TalkCoin *** OFFICIAL THREAD *** on: September 07, 2014, 11:44:31 PM

You other arguments are as stupid and groundless. The fees are really destroyed and sent to first genesis block (not like in your version). All developers (with Skills!) will be able to see this in the code.

And seriously you want to takeover this project??

I can't believe these guys spend their time and energy arguing against me with blatantly ignorant comments.

Yes I admit you have skills. That explains why you are so arrogant, even to your investors. Unfortunately this skill was used more to scam people than actually improve the coin. You will probably say again that you don't have time to argue with me. Fine. My questions still stay open, and I think all people with common sense will understand what really happens here.

If you want to takeover this project, there were other honest ways. I already expressed about it in private messages. I didn't even receive a small private message saying it about this takeover and I could have helped you to start your own fork with your own ideas.

If you find I am dishonest, you can at least admit your attitude is also dishonest and deceptive.

Yes the new coin would be super easy to us too, but we're trying here to save this coin and to be honest our investment as well. Because when people realize your hidden intention in your code, no one will buy your coin again.
We are the one who buy your coin, probably many parts of your fund as well. I'm sure that you never give your money to buy your own coin in the exchange to save it from being removed by exchange like us.
I might look dishonest to you and your sockpuppets, but I have nothing to hide for the investors/users of this coin. All my posts are my genuine questions about your creditability, and all is backed by evidences and numbers.
You don't even have time to post even a proof for all what you said, and avoid my questions. All what you could say it always the same: I don't have time. Ok clear. Done. Understood.
