so dev want 96 BTC for copy/paste NIST and POS ?

Why do you say that its a copy/paste coin??

Is Doge a copy/paste coin of Litecoin for using scrypt???

It is implementing the algo NIST5, as it is one of the most energy efficient, whats the problrm about this?

The code have been writted from the begining by our programmer. We took the algo from Talkcoin, and also other good parts of other coins. So it is not a copy paste, you will be able to see by yourself checking the source, at the launch.

Doge is of course a clone and a joke. Most of Doge users accept this fact. But DOGE is fun and NO PREMINE.
Maybe a good thing if you success. You could create a new trend. The 50% Air drop premine of country coins is over and now the newest trend is premine 20% and cooperate with exchange to do ICO. You must have a lot of contacts in crypto world to have Bittrex and CoinSource on your side.
Ok, devs and exchange win, who cares about users. I might shut my mouth.

I can't believe this clone coin get more attentions than us because they have huge 19.2% premine. Should I fork Talkcoin and premine 50% and do the same ? Instantly rich.
They even get to CoinSource site:
http://www.coinssource.com/icebergcoin-fairdistribution-latest-miningalgorithm

I have posted this on the news site, but I'm pretty sick with this. Could anyone from you continue to spam them for me? Thanks.

Sorry but where did you get this information from ?
Talkcoin is the first coin which implements NIST5

I still haven't seen the IcebergCoin's source but I bet that we will find a lot of  traces from Talkcoin there.
Talkcoin implements a lot of new things like NIST5 and difficulty adjustment algorithm Talk Gravity.

We publish an article covering your coin on Coins Source

Hope to see a high support for this coin, we will keeping a watch on further updates/progresses

Sorry? Could you check the source before posting to your site ?
This coin clones NIST5 from Talkcoin. The only thing they add is the PoS features and the huge premine.

New algo, professional launch and professional 'giveaway'.. Well done, big potential to go places.

Take your time, keep to what you promise and this will be one to get in on the ground floor. Smiley

Thank you for the refreshing ANN.

A bit about myself?  I am a Project Manager/Senior Business Analyst that has recently left the Investment Banking scene to become a full time Crypto Miner.  I have seen the ugly side of finance and I believe Crypto is a wonderful alternative to offer people who are not happy with the existing banking system.

you are crazy man ...
I like you!  Grin

I am perhaps the luckiest man in the world, my girlfriend is in just as deep as I am so when I say to her "Babe, I've just resigned from my job and upgraded the outdoor shed to a warehouse with 3 phase power" She said "Sounds awesome!"

I think I'm going to hold onto this one  Cool

Lucky you man.  Grin. My wife once said: Since you spent so much time in this dusty warehouse, why don't you just sleep here? Make me really consider to move my stuffs to the warehouse and live happily with my rigs alone.  Grin

any graphic designers here? maybe we can create a better front page for this forum?

We're planning to do that. Do you know a good designer who accepts TAC ? We're giving a big bounty for this.

Not sure how I missed the launch of this coin.. Looks like there is a new clone of Talkcoin making a killing in ICO..
Does anyone know what is the current marketcap of talkcoin?

Yep. Everyone could make a killing too if you premine 19.2%. I don't think people's still fall for that. Crazy.
But I wish them success because it would make TAC more famous.  Grin

Wow... 96 BTC in ICO.. You guys are planning to become rich instantly huh... I think its over priced for a new clone Talkcoin. How much is the market cap of talk coin.. Is there a misprint in the selling price? Did you miss a zero???

Thank you AizenSou,
 I have some question:
- Are you using qmake or Qt Creator and which version?
- 'macdeploy' command work correctly for you?

Thank you

I use qmake and macdeploy yes. No need to modify macdeployqtplus. TAC's source is very well maintain. Remember to install appscript.
Could you test my version on your machines please? I only have one Mac machine. Thanks.
1090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | Fork for Masternode Payment on: July 02, 2014, 07:59:05 PM
Last year I had 60 btc that I bought at around $30. I watched as we hit 260 ATH & then as we dropped to 60$. I never sold. I waited & waited & after 6 months, despair got to me & I had to sell 58 btc at $90 to pay bills & expenses. 3 weeks later btc hit $1200.
I learned my lesson.
Ill go as low as this ship can take me but I will not sell. I'll take a lungfull of saltwater over regret anyday. I would guess Darkcoin prices are being manipulated bigtime. Just keep building it, the end result is what matters.

I hear some similar stories. I meet a guy in TigerDirect store that sold his 2000 BTC for about $3000.

I was in the Aurora train some months ago. It was really painful. Same comments, same fuds, same trolling, same "innovative things" (airdrop).
People yelling "I will hold my AUR to the end!", today AUR= $0.15 from better don't mention here.

We need to be honest with the community, the DRK price is under a high pressure from large forces. It's a 7 double digits lottery at this moment.
I consider the fundamentals and dev team great with an exceptional work, but they are not enough at this moment to keep the price afloat.

Here and now, we can see the real true. Many users on this forums with some illusions that they can buy all the dumps yelling "yes, more cheap DRKs please". They don't have idea what they are saying, and they don't have the power to buy too much. I remember a guy imploring to drop the price because he want to buy more few days ago (I can't believe that).

We are at the mercy of these large forces. Many users here call them "idiot", retard and many other insults (in some cases by accident), they are laughing now.

Hope people learn the lesson for a better future of this coin, otherwise will be the end. Everybody need to learn how to handle an investment complex worldwide community.

I'm holding my DRKs, but please, it's an extremely high risk game at this moment, make your decision accordingly.

Never, ever put your family or yourself on the line with the illusion of be an instant millionaire in few months, because these things only happen in a very low percent of the population and in low budget TV movies (Play the lottery and probably you will have more chances).

+1 nice post.

Btw I'm willing to bet one week of my MN payment that after this dump, the top wallets grow bigger again. Who is in ? PM me.  Grin

Dont be greedy guys vote 50 reward, lets get the price down to 1000 sats so everyone can own a lot

Hopefully miners arent greedy and they help sell those 125k tacs created a day to the buy orders and not dump it at the first sign of rising

hmm why is it a good thing for the price to drop ?
I mean, talk coin's marketcap is like 200btc's at current price's which seems pretty undervalued, so i do not fallow  you ?
This coin needs a dedicated community and dev. I am joining the community for sure Wink

We have a dedicated dev team but the community is still shorted. Welcome. Spread the news about TAC in your circle. Thanks.

I would like to thank Evan personally for granting me the opportunity to retire at young age through his amazing work.

This is the email I sent to announce my retirement:
Hi guys,
Just a quick FYI: I'm leaving the company in 3 months (30 September final working day).

Reason is basically that I got very lucky with an investment I made in February this year which has taken away financial pressure and has given me the opportunity to try to follow my dreams.

I have mixed feelings as I love my job and I love working for this company, but it feels like it is something I have to do.

Until I leave, I will continue to give my best.

Thank you,
XXXXXX XXXXXXX

PS I'm still holding my coins and will continue to do so until DRK has overtaken Litecoin.

Wow congrat coinz^3. Excellent.

I think i got it working Smiley yeey, will give it a try and mine some.

I hope the dev is still active and has plans for the coin Smiley

Yeah we are all active. Our team grows and we have a few talented developers more to join the team. Myself not included. Grin
We can expect huge updates from official announcement next week.

Hey all, i am new to this coin and to the NIST5 algo. It looks very nice and i would like to mine it. But i just cant get my fans to show, i am sure this has been answered before but i did not find it in the 20-30 pages i managed to read. If anyone can help me, i will really appreciate it , thank you !

Where did you get the miner ? Maybe it doesn't include the ADL library, so it is why the miner can't read about the fans speed. Sorry but I don't have Windows to test for you. Maybe djm34 or Ignition75 could help you.
1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | Fork for Masternode Payment on: July 02, 2014, 04:24:03 PM

TO EVERYONE WHO ARE CONCERNED WITH THE PRICE AND THE FUTURE of DarkCoin
You should first look at this
DarkCoin Network speed: 156.23 GH/s
you can make your own decisions based on that..

Let's compare it to others:

Litecoin: 402 GH/s

Dogecoin: 67 GH/s

so Darkcoin comes right after Litecoin.... not bad for such a new coin.

Wow, if those numbers are correct, and there are ASICs for scrypt now, it makes Darkcoin's numbers pretty damn amazing!

you are comparing apples with oranges.
ltc - scrypt. if there were no asics, one 280x does 700 khs on scrypt
doge - same same as above
drk - x11. one 280x does 4.2 Mhs

so how many gpus mine drk and home many mine ltc (lets asume no asics)

But you are right that drk surpased ltc in just couple of months.

no fud, I am drk miner myself.

Your math looks ok, but DRK hashrate is from only GPUs while LTC is raped by ASICs. Roughly more than 50% of LTC now is dominated by ASICs.
Btw look at the charts. The volume today is nothing in comparison with the dumps a few days ago or the dump after failed RC3. I have seen DRK at 0.01 and no panic at all.

35uBtc at bittrex - time to buy cheaper TAC !

Yep. Whales try to keep the price down waiting for the huge news coming. Enjoy it.

More like greedy idiots voting 50 is keeping the price down.
the greedy idiots are more those voting 1 in my opinion (no offence to anybody).

LOL let's them say whatever they want. We need hashrate now, the price can grow later.
Last block reward, hashrate = 18Ghs
New block reward, hashrate = 30Ghs.

The price is still heavily manipulated. If you don't believe me you can do the math yourself.
29.752 TAC per block -> 29.752 * (60/20) * 60 * 24 = 128528.64 TAC per day is created.
With current price 128528.64 * 0.0003500 sat = 4.4985024 BTC for keeping current price.
Given the volume in Bittrex and Polo together we are well over that, so of course if I assume all miners dump TAC immediately, there are not enough TACs for this volume.

Someone has played with the market for weeks, buy low and sell high. I think he still wants to be in the accumulate phase.

Btw I have compiled the Mac OS wallet v1.3. Tested on Mavericks 10.9.2.

Yes it could be.  But what happens when people don't realize the profit they thought they would get from running a masternode?  They have close to $10,000 tied up that could be put to use elsewhere with potentially much higher returns.  If the number of masternodes starts to decrease will that be an indicator of long term uncertainty?
But everyone running a masternode now knows this is a temporary thing.  It does two things, allows MN holders a little bit of payments while the kinks are worked out, and it allows Evan a chance to see how the non-enforced rules are functioning and their consequences so he can fix any unwanted results.

So even so we're not getting "fair" payment, we're at least getting a chance to get a little bit of coin.

Also, don't forget, the reason the MNs are paid like they are is because if they were all paid a portion, like in a pool, it would create unholy blockchain bloat.  It's just not feasible.  So what we have here is one account paid each block, which is a reasonable amount of info to store.  The rest of the mechanism for voting is done so nobody can cheat.
Here's the thing.  Even if people were to get full payments, will running a masternode still be a good investment?  I could take the same amount of btc that people have tied up in a masternode and likely make 10% in a week based on previous returns.  How many DRK would I get in a week running a masternode?  It would take around 100 DRK for me to see the same kind of returns.  If I don't see an increase in profit then I'm not tying my capital up running a masternode.  And I'm sure that there are masternode operators that feel the same way.  If masternode profits don't meet expectations people will simply shut it down, sell DRK, and make profit somewhere else.

And I know that running a masternode is all about profit from reading the posts in this thread.  Profit profit profit was the selling point and buzz word for the reason to host a masternode.  Better hope that the profit meets expectations or those nodes will be going down right and left.
Honestly, I'm a bit surprised there are still 500 or so Masternodes online. 1 DRK per day is nothing -- NOTHING -- for having 1000 DRK tied up. And if you're paying for server fees and such, it's even worse. I don't know who would run a MN that costs probably $10-$20 per day in fees just to earn $10 per day in DRK. Some of them are likely IT professionals using company servers for their own gains; I can't think of any other way to make it truly worthwhile.

Sorry? What's your cost of 10$-20$ per day? You could rent a nice VPS for 10$ per MONTH. With 10-20$ for electricity you could even let a few of your rigs running. I don't expect you made a wrong calculation this time, Jarred. Normally you're good at math.  Wink

are you from developer team?

I would like to join if you aren't against it Wink

Mac OSX Developers!

Can anyone advise karimdr2 on correct versions of the compiler and dependencies needed for compiling the MacOSX wallet?  Can't find the dev who compiled the 1.0 Mac wallet.

Thanks

I advance very well, I have to solve a little problem with Boost and deployement. Some packages ported on OSx are broken. Any advice would be welcome  Smiley

Thanks. I will compile the Mac OS version tonight and share with you my steps.

I confirm, the low reward is the main problem ! The next vote will be in 22 hours.
For those of us not up on miner tech/jargon, could you explain why miners have to be incentivised to mine more - doesnt that mean more dumping down the road? How does that help the coin?

djm34 gives the best non-miner tech/jargon explanation, so I quote this for you.

The problem is playing that game is doing nothing but discouraging miners. You guys already have yours, so your fine seeing less than .015 BTC/100mhs....sure its great thinking "long term" but people at least need to make enough and a little more just to cover costs of running...right now that is not even close. It cost me 300 a month extra to run the GPUs, at the current prices I would be mining at a loss, which I am able to eat for short term. Most can not wait months on end for something that "might" happen.

I understand all the wanting of lower block rewards too... on the other hand, the price has done nothing to reflect the lower rewards.

Yes, I am going across the current here, but if you step back and take a look back in, you could see how and why a new miner would pass this coin up. Right now its only the bag holders that are sitting pretty... we need more than just a lower block reward with "promises" of great things later or this coin will die a very slow death.
I agree 100%, lowering the reward doesn't make the coin more valuable, it just make the coin unprofitable, and it is bit taking traders for more stupid than they are. They know the vote can be changed, why would they  buy higher just because some people change the vote (knowing that there is even in the bag holders lots of weak hand... and impatient holders, lowering the reward is even a sign of impatience, it means "I want to sell now (but I will try some funny manipulation of the market before  Grin... except everybody saw you  Grin)".

The coin needs to be widely used and have a higher demand before the voting can have an action on market price.
Trying to go too fast, will just hurt yourself (if it is unprofitable for me, it is certainly unprofitable for you... or worst you are just sitting on your big pile of tac mining other coins (basically you are not helping securing the network, and worst you are making a vote which discourage other from doing so... ) so technically low reward vote at the moment, is a vote against the coin itself.

It is pitty that some don't understand that.
I mean you can make up at home your own pile of money with your printer, but unless others use it, it has no value. so if you don't want to distribute it and just sell it as real money... it won't work for obvious reason  Grin and it won't acquire magically any value  Grin
