1361  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Do the Pools buy Hashrate / share with individuals? on: August 08, 2023, 10:25:22 AM
The problems:
- Outdated miners can't be sold anymore
- They are burden to the mining farm
- No profits
- Waste of electricity

Old ASICs can (almost) always be sold, you will always find someone interested to buy old ASICs, someone not paying a lot for his electricity, or doing a specific project etc.. Maybe you'll sell it at a loss, but if you've done your calculations properly when you bought it, you're supposed to have made a profit on it before selling it. The notion of "outdated ASIC" isn't useful to me. What really matters, is the cost of your infrastructure, your kw/h cost and how much you pay for your hardware. If you're able to make a profit taking all these costs into account, no matter how old the ASICs are, profit is profit - as long as the ASICs are able to produce a stable hashrate at least.

The only way to earn from them could be sharing them with the pool. For example, pool should have different section or protocol where they will use the hashing power from such outdated miners that connected to them and use that power altogether. In return hoping that we will receive fixed returns for sharing that hash power.

Not sure why... A Th/s is a Th/s, a kw/h is a kw/h. It's up to each miner to make their own calculations and forecasts, and I don't see why we should be giving gifts to those using older generations of ASICs.
If a miner can no longer make a profit from certain ASICs, he's free to sell them to someone who pays less fixed costs than he does, and I don't see why that should be the problem of pool operators.
1362  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [don't have such a mindset] Bitcoin accumulation/investment not a competition. on: August 08, 2023, 10:11:56 AM
I happened to come across a few friends who were arguing among themselves about who could get the most out of Bitcoin for themselves, no matter what the cost. One said that he must accumulate up to 1 Bitcoin in a year, and the other said that if his fellow friend is able to accumulate one Bitcoin in a year, then he will make sure he accumulates two or three Bitcoin in that one year, the third person said he will accumulate more than 5 Bitcoin in a year, so as the fourth person. In their argument, they made Bitcoin investment look like a kind of competition where one person has to take first position (probably win a trophy 🥇🏆) against the other no matter what the situation.

I'm sure everyone will agree with you that accumulating Bitcoin is not a competition, and that there's no need to hurry in reality.

However, I think your friends can benefit from this sort of "challenge" they've set up among themselves. It could help them stay the course, keep faith in BTC in times of doubt, market downturn and FUD, don't you think? What's more, as long as they don't make themselves too poor doing it so, it won't do them any harm to own several BTC in the long term  Grin

We often see people treating the accumulation of BTC as a sprint, particularly on Reddit (r/Bitcoin). I don't really know why they have this feeling of urgency, maybe they're anxious to see BTC rise to $1 million without having had time to accumulate enough, or maybe it's the limited supply that's making them anxious and impatient?
In any case, those who understand the long-term potential of BTC and the real philosophical interest of a form of P2P digital currency understand very well that there is no rush to accumulate it. From a long-term perspective, I don't see how they could miss the boat, even if they're currently DCAing small amounts since yesterday.

Finally, together with one of the forum users, we have almost completed work on the creation of UniJoin custom cards.

The good news is that each of these 20 cards will find its owner through the raffle.

The card design is really cool, I can't wait to take part in this raffle! It'll make some really nice collectibles, it's a really nice initiative.  Smiley

Otherwise, I've just published the French translation of your topic:  🌀 [banned mixer] - CoinJoin Mixer | Votre anonymat est notre priorité !

Texte original : 🌀 [banned mixer] - CoinJoin Mixer | Your Anonymity Is Our Priority!

1367  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me translate my best posts in your Local Board on: August 07, 2023, 02:26:52 PM
If the respective local board is not active, perhaps you are both right about the (lack of) utility of translating these topics in your language.

babygun, however, if you are passionate about translations or if you think that one of my topics would be useful to Dutch local board, you may give it a try. After all, you can see if the new topic would get some attention from Dutch forum users. From my perspective, I have nothing against this. But, of course, it's up to you. No pressure here.

I agree, there's nothing to lose by producing these translations if he feels motivated to do so.

If I may say so, not everyone who reads and browses the forum has an account. There are probably lurkers and people who will find these subjects on search engines, aren't there?
I personally don't think that any translation is done for nothing, I mean if only one person has benefited from it, that's already something appreciable (from my point of view anyway).

Even if it's true that most Dutch people speak English, the comfort of reading interesting and quality content in your mother tongue shouldn't be underestimated.
1368  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 3 ways of Turning your adversity to advantages in bitcoin on: August 06, 2023, 11:50:32 AM
Well, the structure of your text makes it a bit unreadable in my opinion.

Couldn't it all boil down to educating yourself on the subject and understanding in depth what you're getting into?

I don't see how that's any different from any other form of investment, to be honest. As long as you're aware of the risks involved, and understand the subject in depth, it's all a matter of personal decision. Not everyone needs to be "embrace discomfort" to invest in BTC, others are willing to, it's a case by case basis... I don't think it can be used as universal advice.
1369  Local / Mining (Deutsch) / Re: Groupbuy Solo Mining - Blockparty LONG-TIME-RUN 2022-2023 on: August 06, 2023, 09:12:44 AM
Guten Morgen zusammen.

It's an interesting idea, but wouldn't that risk increasing the number of shares in the event of a block and thus dividing the reward among too many?

In that case, I imagine that you'd have to estimate how many BTC your 195th contribution is worth in order to divide the reward.

Because, logically, if you almost double the hashrate, I imagine you'd want half the reward?
I don't think anyone here would agree with that.  Cheesy

Hello @Joker_josue, I just notice that searching talkimg on google for the first time doesn’t gave the exact website as result on seach. It happened to me when I try to search talkimg on my new device. I check carefully the url so I’m sure it’s correct. The only time I manage to search the website is when I visit by using the forum links that you provide on this ann thread.

Is this some SEO issue?

This is yet another good reason to use DuckDuckGo instead of Google. It respects your privacy and will give you results without modifying your search. (and if you need google results, just add " !g" at the end of your search for example, the !Bang system is great if you have this search engine as your default search engine)

1372  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] SINBAD.IO [Mix Your BTC Quickly] Signature Campaign | Up-to $150/w on: August 04, 2023, 08:50:51 PM
Sinbad OP doesn't say how many posts I'm allowed each day. What's the maximum x posts I'm allowed for count towards payment? Where's the rules for daily posting I don't want to break it next week. You should pay remaining 8 posts for W39.

There isn't necessarily a written rule on the subject but if you put yourself in the shoes of the campaign manager, you'll understand that burstposting is not desirable (in some campaigns it's even mentioned in the rules that it's forbidden). I'm not saying that's what you're doing, let's be clear about this, I just want to illustrate that from the point of view of the manager and the project, someone who posts quality is required, but also quantity, and with a regular frequency over the week.

You're paid to give the project a good image thanks to your personality on the forum and your knowledge, as well as for advertising some links through your profile's signature. It's in the interests of those who pay you that you don't post all your messages in a few hours or 2 days, but rather regularly throughout the week. This gives greater visibility to the project you're promoting, and shows a form of personal involvement from the said forum user.

Sorry to say this, but I think this is the last statement I ever expected anybody to come public here to say, because it clearly just show your lack of knowledge how this forum work, by coming here to say a campaign manager must pay you your remaining 8 post for W39. Lolz!! It's kind of funny.. But on a serious note, if you could have a look at the campaign spreadsheets, you will see that there is a column for both "Total post", "Post Denied" and "Eligible Post", which the campaign manager has the right to deny any post he/she feels add no value to the forum discussion.

I just see this as an attempt to improve himself.
It's always best to ask the questions that are bothering you, don't you think? There's no such thing as a stupid question when it comes to money.

I think the fact that he doesn't know all the rules of the forum, even the implicit ones, is rather positive, as it proves that he didn't join the forum just to take advantage of the signature campaigns, and that he's not an alt of anyone.
1373  Local / Wiki, documentation et traduction / Le Manifeste Crypto-anarchiste - Nous devrions tous le lire on: August 04, 2023, 05:02:36 PM
Auteur : GazetaBitcoin
Texte original : The Crypto Anarchist Manifesto - We all should read it

1374  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: With Bitmain Antminer S19. Generating $8 per day on: August 04, 2023, 08:33:45 AM
I watched the Tik Tok video linked in the article about this guy.
In the video, we can see his Nicehash page showing "8$ per day revenue". Does-it mean that the guy is not paying electricity at all nor a possible solar installation ?

His 8$ per day are not real until he has hit the ROI point. If he paid 2k for his S19, it will take some time.

And about the comment saying "if you had 10 antminers, you could earn 80 per day?" and the guy answering "Correct", it is a little bit naive. His electrical installation should be able to handle 30 kw constantly first, and he should also hit ROI as I said before.

You can check with ZeusBTC but they often have minimum orders of X units, they rarely accept orders for 1 unit but we never know, it cost nothing to ask them.

Otherwise on Ebay, you have buyer protection and you can be generally safe by choosing your seller correctly.

Or you can always post an ad here on the forum and go through a reputable escrow.

Lol dude. The Azov battalion is recognized by the US Congress as neo-Nazi, extremist and anti-Semitic, parliamentarians called it a "disgusting Nazi formation", while it is quite officially part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The main national hero of Ukraine, Bandera, is a Nazi, and in honor of him, thousands of marches on Khreshchatyk were held and fifty streets were named. The universal password-greeting of Ukrainians "Glory to Ukraine, glory to the heroes" - is rooted in the far-right nationalist organization OUN and this is only a slightly modified password-greeting of the Third Reich "Heil Hitler, Sieg Heil". What more proof do you need?

There could be 100,000 neo-Nazis in Ukraine and it wouldn't change the problem, to be honest.

It's rather those who invade their neighbours, kill, rape and kidnap civilians who are the actual Nazis, don't you think?

And you know what's even worse than degenerate, out-of-touch Nazi leaders like your Putler? The morons who are their standard-bearers and propagandists, the morons who have been shit on by this same leader for years with corruption but who continue to kiss his ass.
