1421  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase - where are the deposits? on: November 04, 2013, 10:39:04 PM
And the site was inaccessible for a couple of hours the other night as well. Why in the world they sill are selling/buying bitcoin with issues still pending is beyond me. I hate when companies keep operating when there are known current issues.

1422  Economy / Service Discussion / Alternative to coinbase? on: November 04, 2013, 10:23:01 PM
Are there any sites like Coinbase? I'm getting tired of selling bitcoin and then always having the money never make it to the bank. Starts to get real old. Any other places online where I can sell BTC easily?

1423  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Another Coinbase Issue on: November 04, 2013, 10:11:52 PM
Maybe you can check the status my blackhole deposit also. I have 2 deposits that have not made it to the bank. What's going on here? The ONLY issues I ever had were when selling bitcoin, but soon as you sell bitcoin when they have to give up some money, there are issues.
1424  Economy / Service Discussion / Coinbase - where are the deposits? on: November 04, 2013, 10:07:38 PM
I sold some bitcoins using Coinbase 5 days ago and still has been been deposited into my bank account. My father also sold bitcoins on the one day ealier( 6 days ago ) and hasn't seen a deposit either. I have used them previously before with no problems and I'm at a level 2 security also. It is IMPOSSIBLE to contact Coinbase by phone since they do not list any phone numbers, so you have to rely soley on email and apparently companies love that since if they don't want to answer they just don't respond. Coinbase boasts how much they have grown and prospered but you still can't even call them on the phone to find out what's going on. Did they run out of money or something? Starting to get a little concerned because customers are pretty much left in the wind with no support. Unfortunately I have to post the issue here also, since sometimes via email that's a black hole also with no response.

I spoke to soon. My fathers Saturn, which has been running great since we got it displays this on the cgminer output screen sometimes.

013-11-02 09:28:09] KnC: core 0-34 was disabled due to 10 HW errors in a row
[2013-11-02 09:28:14] KnC: core 4-166 was disabled due to 10 HW errors in a row

Is there a particular cause of this and is it something that can be fixed? I have ran enabledallcores and using .98 firmware. Just sub-standard hardware?

1426  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~100Th] Semi-private mining pool on: November 02, 2013, 07:08:41 AM
I'm a member when you first started, but only have 280Gh/s. Am I allowed to mine here? Also, what is the average 24 hour earnings on this pool at approx 275-280Gh/s or whatever, I can do the math? I'm sure someone that has been mining here can come up with a number, right?

Thanks. Cool looking web site.

1427  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: November 02, 2013, 06:59:57 AM
So, advertising exclusive deals with Ciara ( never heard of them anyway ) and Seasonic doesn't ship a product earlier. I'm a KNC owner, hashing as much as I can and wish HF all the delays possible.Even though my miner wasn't put together in a real large huge building that you can take satellite pictures of and didn't come with a Seasonic power supply I've roughly made over $1k on my way to making a little more.

Sorry, its not personal, its business.

1428  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: November 02, 2013, 06:45:37 AM
Batch 1 will be shipped before Dec 31st, and HF anticipates that batch 2 will also be shipped before this time but cannot guarantee this claim given the current delay they have experienced.

Now that is a worry and seems to be lost in all the other good news.

Remember, unless these are being shipped by Father Christmas himself, you can use 31st December as a date but the days between the 20th December and 6th January are likely to be holiday for a.) Ciara b.) DHL / UPS c.) The recipient.

Given Christmas is a rather busy period for shipping and customs, anything not out of the door by 6th Dec stands a very good chance of not arriving in some parts of the world until at least 6th Jan.

The 20th Dec - 6th Jan dead window is possibly also true of any missing component that is holding up completion of the products. If the substrate is not received by 20th Dec, it's unlikely to magically appear until 6th January at the earliest.

Obviously I don't know what the holiday arrangements are of all concerned but we can be sure the holiday season will add further delays.

Unfortunately companies use the holiday to their advantage so can point blame later on due to holiday delays and shit downs. Not the first time this has happened. BFL did this same thing and slivered by a whole holiday period with no opposition.
1429  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [100 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: November 02, 2013, 06:33:47 AM
This is why I keep going back to the Guild. They have the performance charts and info that I need to see. While other pools can easily add this info for their pools they do not, which makes me think something is always going on. I'll never trust a low fee / free free pool.
1430  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / The days are over.... on: November 01, 2013, 01:23:55 AM
I was thinking about possibly getting another miner, but taking a good look at this pretty much makes my decision not to.

I think the days of hobby mining are coming to an end. Everything got so commercial and much more expensive. The days of using a plastic crate, wooden sticks, velcro, and duct tape I will surely miss. These days it's all commercial driven hardware coming from big game players. Seriously, in 2014 you will seriously need a huge amount of hashing power to make anything. There will always be that segment of people that have free electricity and space. Those are the ones that will keep upgrading and buying more hashing power. And even then its still like being addicted to drugs..you are always just chasing the high. You never really "cash out" and make good money. If only I bought tons of bitcoin a couple years ago. I have the money to buy another miner, but I don't trust KNC's hardware from all the issues I've been reading about. Right now where can you buy a miner and have it in your hands a few days later? You can't. Even now its still a completely pre-order business. Will we ever get the day we can browser a website and order a miner and actually have it ship the next day? Will that ever happen? Has hashfast started shipping? I want to buy another miner, but seriously there's not one company I trust out there or who has anything available soon. I was checking out Hashfast and their miner protection program...its nonsense because you are just paying extra up front for hardware you may need later on. I'm on the fence with making an order with KNC, but right now I may not break even with the Saturn I have now. Who would you order a miner from? Any real quality ones out there?

1432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 01, 2013, 12:39:44 AM
Where is the best place to see your error rate or hardware errors? On my BTC Guild dashboard there is some info there that says accepted shares and the number is 64,972 and the percent is %99.45. Does this mean I have low hardware error rate?

I can also load up cgminer, but I get lost looking at all those numbers there.

Could a pool problem. If the pool doesn't have a manual pay out feature the pool will ALWAYS have some extra bitcoin. What if I want to stop using that pool? How would I get my balance that is my reward if there is no payout method? Granted .08 isn't a lot of bitcoin but all those amounts do add up and I need them all. I want to switch over to BTCGuild again, but wondering what will happen to the 18 hours of mining I just did with the pool? Where would that payout go and when?

You will get your balance paid out automatically 7 days after you stop mining on Eligius.

Thanks, I did not know that. In my opinion I think Eligius needs some more refinement and some more work. Multiple home page buttons get a little confusing if you don't know what's going on. I also saw no settings anywhere to set min payout. I know time is money, but there are more donation requests and addresses then anything. I wish 'em the best of luck, since we could always use another mining pool I guess. I assume most people mine there because of no fees. One day that will eventually change.

I know I'm such an idiot and really deserve all the smart ass remarks most responses usually are. In general, people are cruel animals, too selfish to even realize or aware of their doings.

Is it true on the Eligius pool there is no manual payout process and you just have to wait for it?

I have a Saturn, which we all know hashes around 250-280Gh/s. How often would I get paid and how much if I join this pool? This is why I haven't stayed with this pool because of the lack of info. BTC Guild kind of corners the market in everything you need on one page, and I'm looking for that type info if I tried to mine at Eligius.

Also, if you hate editing files while in SSH you can always do the lazy mans way. Download WinSCP and log into your miner that way. It's all GUI for those of us that hate text based stuff. You'll get a good feel of the file hierachy and it is easier to move around, at least in my opinion it is. I'll just download a file, edit it locally and then upload it. I hate VI. Also of course, you can download all  your files and make a nice backup locally.

When I first got my Saturn I removed the heatsinks, cleaned off whatever thermal grease that was there ( it was very thin stuff ) and put my own Artic Silver high density stuff on. Since then no matter if the temps are cool or hot I've always hashed on average 280-285. Top off, top on, fans on or on...always the same. Maybe the thermal grease or whatever they used was just inferior low quality stuff? After the grease dries up a little it should thicken up...when I received my miner the grease coming out on the sides was still almost wet. Maybe if you can't get your miner to hash up no matter what you do, try to clean off that crappy thermal grease that's there and re-do it yourself. AND REMEMBER, all you need is just a little eraser sized grease and not to over tighten. And I'll still not break even probably.

Did they do worse before you changed the thermal paste? I doubt that it's much of a problem, it seems like most people are getting  280 saturn /560 jupiter without doing that. Some people are having issues, but that's probably not related to heat.

I never trusted the grease that was on there to begin with, so I only powered up for about 20 minutes to make sure everything worked then changed the grease over to what I wanted. It could have been the same, but my Dad who has a Saturn also has great running speeds also and I changed his thermal grease as well. It can't hurt I guess. The stuff that I saw there just didn't look right. Very bright silver stuff that was almost wet. That's what made me change it to begin with.

1439  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [100 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: October 30, 2013, 12:16:06 AM
I just recently switched to Slush's pool, literally 20 minutes ago with my KNC miner. My miner stats page and cgminer says I'm hashing at 280Gh/s, but on Slush's pool profile page I'm only seeing 166381.1 Mh/s which is only 166Gh/s, right?

Where is the missing hash rate going?

1440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 29, 2013, 11:16:29 PM
I've just created a kncminer branch on my github and have imported their most current code and built my first binary for this. It is not a full firmware and the only thing users may note is the hashrate won't lie with this one, as it won't count hardware errors as hashrate. Also my hardware error count is significantly lower with this on the Saturn dev machine I was sent.

Here's a direct link to the binary:
http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/kncminer/cgminer

You'll have to ssh into the kncminer and copy and use that file directly. Hopefully the libraries all match between my dev environment and the default kncminer operating system which means the binary should just work if you run it like on any other OS.

Sorry, but what would be the benefit on doing this? I'm not trying to be an ass, I really don't know.
