When I first got my Saturn I removed the heatsinks, cleaned off whatever thermal grease that was there ( it was very thin stuff ) and put my own Artic Silver high density stuff on. Since then no matter if the temps are cool or hot I've always hashed on average 280-285. Top off, top on, fans on or on...always the same. Maybe the thermal grease or whatever they used was just inferior low quality stuff? After the grease dries up a little it should thicken up...when I received my miner the grease coming out on the sides was still almost wet. Maybe if you can't get your miner to hash up no matter what you do, try to clean off that crappy thermal grease that's there and re-do it yourself. AND REMEMBER, all you need is just a little eraser sized grease and not to over tighten. And I'll still not break even probably.

1442  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [925 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees, Stratum, MergedMining, Private Servers on: October 29, 2013, 02:51:08 PM
I started mining just a few weeks ago with my new KNC Saturn. It hashes steady around 275-285Gh/s. I've noticed my 24 hour earnings just dropping like a dead horse. Is this because of the added hardware that is being introduced to the network and the difficulty rising so fast?

Would I benefit from a pool with no fees to get the most out of while I can?

1443  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: error: {u'message': u'TX rejected', u'code': -22} is back HELP on: October 29, 2013, 02:47:32 PM
Good luck then.

So, the problem was with newly mined coins

I would say the problem is with the client and not with the newly mined coins. The two other clients I have used don't have this problem.
1444  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: error: {u'message': u'TX rejected', u'code': -22} is back HELP on: October 29, 2013, 03:45:49 AM
Electrum just works, if you don't try to spend recently mined coins  Tongue

You came from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=307079.0 did you read the entire thread?

Yea, that's a bug. My coins had over 20 confirmations and I needed to send then. Electrum couldn't because according to Electrum they are newly minded coins. To me, that is a bug. I already switched to another client. Pretty soon there won't be any left to switch to.
1445  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [231Th] Eligius: ASIC, no registration, no fee CPPSRB BTC + 105% PPS NMC, 877 # on: October 28, 2013, 12:05:40 AM
When I tested out Eligius a few days ago and found out I did not like it I switched back to original pool. Right now I have a a very little amount of BTC that I earned on Eligius that I want to send to my wallet. How do I do this? I even checked the payout schedule/log and can't find anything there.
1446  Bitcoin / Pools / Difference in what CGMiner says and what BTC Guild says? on: October 27, 2013, 06:12:41 AM
I can't remember where I read the issue when this happens, but when I open up my cgminer software via SSH and check out my average hash speed it is 280Gh/s. Then when I view my BTC Guild's dashboard my average is 230Gh/s. I'm losing 50Gh/s somewhere and can't figure out why. I read a lot of these KNC miners are plagued with hardware issues and haven't been fully tested and I'm thinking I just got a bum miner, that's all. Are there particular places to look where I can check what my hardware errors are and all that? I', not very familiar with the cgminer software itself, hence me asking this here.

Thanks.

1447  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: error: {u'message': u'TX rejected', u'code': -22} on: October 26, 2013, 10:59:02 PM
I was able to make that transaction today. The same one I couldn't yesterday. Needless to say I'm going back to the original bitcoin wallet or even take my chances at using an online one. I don't wan to know how to send coin 10 different ways if one way doesn't work. I just want it to work the way it is supposed to. There is only one more wallet for me to try anyway, so I may as well give it a shot.
Thanks

The red light is lit and stays lit on the beaglebone board.

Kind regards Vyper

Dude, no need to start a whole new thread then post a link to that thread in the KNC thread. Just post it in here. This is the KNC thread.
1449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 26, 2013, 06:59:47 PM
yeah, ultimately,  KNC will need to tell us what the recommended temps really are... good point.
Happy Mining bro Smiley

I asked for what the normal operating temps were weeks ago, and several times. Either they don't know or just ignoring me. KNC have been MIA for a while now and I wouldn't expect them just to come around and answer any of our questions or give support to their products like a normal company.

wtf is there work week tuesday, wednesday, thursday. and thats it?  Angry

We made them all rich, what would you expect them to work every day now?

1451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 26, 2013, 06:08:38 PM
Yea, the graphs and things are cool like I said, but having no idea when I would be getting paid or what my 24 hour return is (if I'm making money or not) is a weird way to hash. At least with BTC they show you right on your stats page what you are making within a 24hour period, payout info, all the necessary info there is. Eligius is more of a guess right now, no? Also, if I wanted a manual payout with Eligius I can't because they don't have it. Bitcoin raised up to $201 yesterday and I wanted to sell a few bitcoin so I did a manual payout with BTCGuild, could I have done that with Eligius or would I have to wait 3 weeks until their payout schedule catches up or whatever? Yea, confusing at the least. I guess that's where the BTC fee comes in. You are furnished with all the appropriate information almost on one page.

you just 25*(Hashrate/2^32)/difficulty  (that's per second)

You get 25 bitcoins in a block
in order to find a block, you need to hash (on average) n diff1 shares, where n is the difficulty
in order to find a diff1 share, you need to calculate (on average) 2^32  hashes.

2^32 = the number of bytes in a 4 gigabytes.

Alternatively, you can just go look at the PPS rate on btcguild, and assume you'll be getting a few % more then that.

That's the thing here....we are using computers that can do millions of calculations a second, I don't really want or think it is necessary for us to do math anymore when we have the best invention in the world that does it perfectly. Yea, I know...some of you still prefer to do your own calculations and expect everyone else to....but if I have a computer I kind of expect it to do all the math it can for me. I know, I know, that's why we are all dumb and stupid now. I would have just figured a mining pool would have all the important/critical info right available to the user instantly. I still couldn't figure out Eligius's payout schedule/process (yea, I guess I'm an ididot) so I went back to the Guild where I can at least input the amount of BTC I want to auto pay out. I know wizkid is doing his best, but when I see literally wizkid's name in the URL itself I have to chuckle a little. The main reason why I wanted to switch to Eligius anyway was I got very good hash rates there and no fees.

1452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 25, 2013, 05:28:03 AM
Not sure if my math is completely accurate but let's say you have a Jupiter hashing at 500GH/s.  You spend an hour one day trying to get a few more GH out of it.  It's like you were hashing at ~480GH/s for that 24 hour period because of the downtime.  And if you do this multiple times every week, just how much are you actually benefiting in the end?  It seems like a lot of people are wasting valuable hashing time putzing around (as difficulty skyrockets) when they'd be better off just letting the damn things mine at a slightly lower speed.

Just sayin'.

This is what keeps happening to me. I keep trying to use Eligius pool but their payout schedule and information is so vague you need to be a scientist to just figure out what you are going to get paid. I went back to BTCGuild, since at least it clearly informs you of what you are earning, can get manual payout with a press of a button and has 24 hour makings. Eligius doesn't have any of that, at least I don't think because they are buried pages somewhere with obscure links on another page you need to get to. I think the Eligius pool is pretty sharp, but it needs a shit load of work and refinement....and I get completely sick of seeing the donation link on EVERY page I go to on that site. Yea, I get it. It was your decision to put up this cool mining pool, but no one forced you at gun point, stop asking for money. If you don't have the time or resources, take it down then. Simple.

They ask for donations because they don't charge a fee.  (I initially thought they collected mining fees, but that seems to have changed).  You get paid 100% on your hashrate. I agree the payout queue thing is a bit confusing, but you should get paid eventually.

Eligius's graphs are by far the best for monitoring your hashrate.  Once things are stable, though I like going back to BTCGuild.

Apparently this problem is back again. I've tried just about everything to clear my wallet out. I have multiple coins waiting for me to make a deposit some where else and this little .19 amount is holding me up as the BTC price drops as well.  I can't wait to find a more reliable bitcoin wallet. Everyone I have tried so far has so many bugs, errors it surprises the heck out of me.

1455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 25, 2013, 04:38:46 AM
What are these VRM's I've seen the last 10 pages? Are these those rectangle looking metal blocks on each ASIC modules? Each with a small white piece of tape/sticker on them? According to my thermal temp my warmest one is 90F. Maybe sticking a piece of thermal tape on top would help it out, no?

Like stuff like this?

1456  Bitcoin / Electrum / error: {u'message': u'TX rejected', u'code': -22} is back HELP on: October 25, 2013, 03:38:18 AM
I'm receiving this error when trying to send a small amount. I made sure the .0005 fee in already included and Electrum won't let you input more anyway if you don't have it. I'm just trying to to zero balance my wallet and I'm trying to send .17984967 and the capture screen shot is what happens after I enter my password. By the way, I have over 20 confirmations on those coins. I tried multiple servers also. Now that I'm using Electrum more and more I'm seeing the negative issues. I came from Armory, which was hell because I couldn't access my coins and now the same exact thing is happening with Electrum. Is there a reliable bitcoin client out there that just works?

I'm trying out Eligius with my KNC Saturn. According to my Saturn I'm churning out about 285Gh/s. If I check the Eligius MYSTATS page it doesn't reflect that hash rate at all. Not even close. How long do I need to be running on the Eligius pool to get the correct stats to show up? When I was running on the BTC Guild site, I would get the correct hash rate within about 10 minutes.

1458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 24, 2013, 05:02:36 PM

0.97 also shows a continuous drop of hashrate for me from 500 to 470 (3 hour average eligius).

Actually.. it doesn't seem to be coming back in any previous firmware. Last value was 450 and that's where it stayed. I read compatible reports on KNC's forum. I fear 0.97 might damage bad Jupiters... Careful upgrading yours.

.96 does seem to be better than .97 on good jupiters.   I haven't tried it on a bad jupiter yet..  so far bad jupiters hash better on .94 'overclocked' running bfgminer but the VRMs/chips do have to take a beating..  perhaps heatsinks?

to 'cure' modules, remove the asic_test file and install .96, run enable cores and few times and reboot.   It should do its 1-2 min asic tests and then reboot itself.  you should have more enabled cores again

How do I remove that asic_test file??
+1

Please some help on this.  I can't seem to find the answer.

Download a program (for windows) called WinSCP. You can log into your miner via IP address using port 22 and view the file structure there. It really is best not to mess around with anything unless you know what you are doing! You can really do damage in there.
1459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 24, 2013, 04:50:22 PM
Alongside the list of firmwares available for download and installation, I'd like to see a list of changes each firmware has compared to the previous.  I could then decide if what the upgrade offers is in my interest to apply or skip if it addresses a problem I'm not experiencing.

You mean a changelog, which is the norm. Very strange there isn't one.

1460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 24, 2013, 04:37:22 PM
Is it me or does anyone think KNC not showing up here or in their own forums a bit odd? I mean literally missing in action here through-out this whole process with us. All we have had is very limited support through email and that's it. This really puts a sting on me and would really make me think about ordering anything from them again in the future. Granted, we have had some firmware updates but I don't believe cgminer is even fully %100 compatible with their miners. I bought 2 Saturn's from them. One for me and one for my Dad. My Dad contributed a little money into it and I feel horrible that he may not get his money back, because two months ago I kept telling him KNC will deliver on time for us. I guess I can't blame KNC %100 on that, since the difficulty is rising so fast who would of expecting going from $200/day to less then $25/day in 2 months.

Not sure why I'm even writing this, I guess I'm just venting a little and sorry about that.
