1601  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: FastCash4Bitcoins - over 280,000 BTC purchased - just 2.99% below spot on: April 10, 2013, 03:56:05 AM
Does FC4B have any kind of alert system to let a potential bitcoin seller there are funds available? It is difficult for me to be in front of the computer every minute checking the status of available funds. I think ACH is out again or very low. Thanks.

that would be a great idea an alert system we could subscribe to Smiley

Jeebuz! If they did that the sudden flood of orders would probably melt their servers down!

What they really need is enough capital to meet demand. They certainly can't be making money off of FC4B with it just sitting there.

I'm sure they still are growing. They've probably grown quite a bit in the past few months alone. I see more and more bitcoin dealers/sellers pop up here and there, so at least that keeps the competition and fees at a decent level.

They don't just sit there. They are always re-funding their sources when they can and always answer questions very quickly when asked. Even though their fees are quite small, I'm sure they make very good money with all the transactions they have. A penny isn't worth much, but when you have a million of them it is an entirely different story.

1602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Blockchain.info down? on: April 09, 2013, 02:12:41 PM
It it now blockchain's time for a DOS attack? Been getting site down for a little while now. They apparently use Cloudflare as a caching service.

1604  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: FastCash4Bitcoins (Update: Out of funds) on: April 08, 2013, 04:51:09 PM
You guys did it.  We are out of funds, all payment options.  It has been a long time since that happened. Since we never accept orders we can't immediately pay all payment options will show no funds available and not allow you to place an order.  We should have more funds ... "soon".  PayPal didn't post a deposit which should have cleared on Friday.  I am confident that it will post by this evening (PayPal estimate has never been off by more than 1 business day).  We should have more Bank Funds tomorrow and more Dwolla by Wednesday.

You have kept us very busy, FC4B volume today (before running out of funds halfway through day) was roughly 250% of our prior peak.  This is on top of sustained high volume for the last week.  We did just short of half a million in transactions for the prior week.

Wow, what growth. If you sold more coin would you be able to replenish the funds quicker and never run out, or has it boiled down to a perfect science on keeping everything in check and balanced on both ends? I suspect if you had more funds right now they would sell pretty quick also. I've seen bitcoin price go to 195 then 5 minutes later back down to 179. I really never knew it could fluctuate that fast. It is killing me not knowing when to sell some coins! Smiley  I need a crystal ball. Anyone have one I can borrow?

1605  Bitcoin / Armory / Using wallet with multiple computers... on: April 08, 2013, 02:02:27 PM
Would I be able to put the wallet on a network share then access it with multiple computers? If possible, would it cause the wallet to get corrupt?

1606  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL RIP OFF... price up 90%, 50GH/s for 2499$. on: April 07, 2013, 06:25:58 AM
For what it's worth that unit in BFL recent pics is still going, although with some big dips, and quite a few rejected shares, four days and 4.84BTC, about 3 BTC behind @ 25Gh/s

http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1CdcYVP4T4hjHwt353pEnGHrigeDLvuvZL

My educated guess this is one of the first working per-production units, once they got 3 full days @ 25GH/s confirmed, pricing and power were adjusted accordingly on their web-site. Before April 1 there were no functional prototypes, hence a baseline for a SC was 30GH/s all this time up till today.

What was the wafer yield again? If I were to guess current 32000+ orders will take anywhere from 6 to 12 months to fill, maybe next year anyone who buys anything now will get something, that is if they start shipping and won't fold the business, pun intended.

Art

It is pretty evident that anyone who ordered this year won't see a delivery until early next year.
1607  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Tangible Cryptography, LLC files for registration as MSB on: April 07, 2013, 06:17:48 AM
You are stopping cash deposits because no one understands the law or guidelines using it with bitcoin or no laws or guidelines exist for the use of cash deposits to buy bitcoin? If no such law or guideline exists, then it is not unlawful to continue doing it? Just curious since that was the preferred method I used. Thanks.

1608  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon newsletter on: April 07, 2013, 05:53:22 AM
Has anyone seen reports on television regarding Silkroad? I never see anything, only small online reporting.
1609  Bitcoin / Hardware / Avalon newsletter on: April 07, 2013, 01:52:53 AM
Received an Avalon newsletter like so many of us indicating about www.bitcoinavalon.com is NOT an official site. Ok, good. Then the second part of the message says,

"It has also been brought to our attention that there is sellers on Silkroad and Atlantis claiming to be "Yifu" or "Xiangfu" selling Avalon ASICs, since we did NOT make these listings, you can be sure they are scams and not just unofficial re-sellers".

What's funny is they expect you to know what Silkroad and Atlantis are. Like everyone knows about it and goes shopping there daily. I felt that a little weird and odd to be sending out a news letter to thousands of people probably saying that. I seriously know many people that are involved  into Bitcoin and have no idea what Silkroad is. Does that make someone ignorant because they aren't aware of an illegal website selling drugs? Smiley

1610  Economy / Trading Discussion / Selling coins... on: April 05, 2013, 05:43:30 AM
I've used Coinbase and FastCash to sell bitcoins because they allow me to attach my bank account. Which other places do you guys use to sell your bitcoin?

Coinbase you need to send your bitcoin to their online wallet then sell them from there.
With FastCash you need to create sales order and then send the bitcoin to the specified address within 15 minutes to make the order.

I like both methods, but I'm also looking for other companies/services that are already established to buy bitcoin from me. What do you guys suggest other then the two listed above?

Thanks-

Mike
1611  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Apparently I owe Coinbase.com on: April 05, 2013, 05:20:05 AM
Companies need to stop this "BETA" bullshit and stop hiding behind that for excuses when things go wrong. If it was monopoly money and it didn't matter if thousands worth of bitcoin were lost it wouldn't matter. But there is real world value behind the bitcoin here and having BETA attached to a transaction worth several thousand USD is quite stressful. They are basically using the general public for R&D. I follow this thread because I do LIKE coinbase. I'm just a prick some times when I see companies operating behind words like "BETA" and "EXPERIMENTAL" and alike. I do hope they succeed and hope all these type companies succeed. One day I'd want to wake up, log into my account and buy bitcoin with my credit card. Maybe that day will come but who knows when.
1612  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL RIP OFF... price up 90%, 50GH/s for 2499$. on: April 05, 2013, 04:34:55 AM
Yes, however, their ASIC are made.  Their entry cost are made.  So, from now on, producing more ASIC is dirt cheap.  I just don't like the fact that they upgrade prices without notice.  A simple "You get discount if you pre-order" would have been the least.

I do have pre-order 1 SC, but I'm starting to wonder if there's some bad faith at BFL.  I will get the guaranteed 60GH/s, although from their latest tweets, they seem to have big power problem.  So they will probably ship me (and other who pre-ordered) 2 boards at 30GH/s.  So let's see if people find a way to overclock.  Will all 8 cores be populated at lower speed, or full speed on 4 chips populated.  Well, time (hopefully) will tell.

They've changed specs on all their vaporware, increased prices big time and yet still have NOTHING. Are they expecting a whole slew of pre-orders with this new line up? Are they running out of money or something. For a company that actually doesn't sell anything is doing quite well I guess. Only in the BTC industry can you sustain a 10+ employee company and actually not have a product or service to sell. I would almost think they are slinging heroin or crack out the back door or something.

1613  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New PrimeAsic Demonstrating The Miner They Sell on: April 05, 2013, 04:29:20 AM
He's in on this scam for sure - we need to get this prick the scammer tag before anyone else loses their coins, I suggest everyone report him to the moderators.
FOr the 1000000th time I sell no machine nor do I advise to buy ntill I POST WORKING TRACKING!
Hellooooooo.
Sounds like part of the scam?
Did you not see the email I showed with the tracking from them?
Duhhhh
Cant fake it man.
Thanks for making me look like an idiot.
Dork

Hey Bitcoin Computer, I have a couple of high GH/s ASIC miners right here with me. I can't sell them all, but I can sell you one. But you need to send the bitcoin to me right away or lose out. The device is smaller then an Avalon but bigger then a butterfly, ooops forget that. Butterfly doesn't even have one. And it only takes 250watts. Runs very cool at 85GH/s and has only been tested with BitMinter pool. Soon as you send me the bitcoin, please message me with your name and address information and I'll get the unit right out to you. I'll send you a tracking number too when it ships out. I will warranty the unit for 1 year. If it cannot be fixed, I will replace it. Here is where you can send me the bitcoin.

Send me 70BTC to the address below. Don't miss out on this deal.
1NrvWAEfzftb5qkt7QfuGuJtommqmRVY4i
The price is pegged to USD because of the BTC ever changing market.

Great! It looks like me and my pet eagle are going out of business. We were planning on developing an extremely "efficient" asic that runs at 1w/Ghs but sadly our design and engineering team f$@!*d up and now instead of 1w/GHs our devices are estimated to run at even 4w/GHs. I also need to mention that due to our terrible stupidity we have to ship two devices instead of one because the devices simply can't handle 200w.

When you get several people together who think they know what they are doing actually become so delusional they create their own little world and start to believe what they say even though it is completely wrong. It's like when you tell a lie so many times you just start to believe that lie yourself.

1614  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [OPEN] Bitcoins Direct - Private off exchange sales on: April 05, 2013, 04:12:05 AM
Update 04/04:

We are open again.  On advice of counsel we are no longer accepting cash deposits.  Due to MSB Guidelines released by FinCEN we are awaiting clarification by FinCEN on some regs before accepting cash deposits.  We have filed with FinCEN to be registered as a MSB and have also sought an administrative ruling on the applicability of some sections of MSB regulations related to "virtual currencies".

At this time we will begin accepting PO requests on Sunday (04/07) for wires posting on Monday (04/08) or later.   Previously someone asked for an exact deadline, this has never been an issue before but lets say 00:00:01 EST on Sunday.  Please don't send PO requests early.  We have found that the follow through rate is significantly lower for PO request made more than a day or two in advance.  This just creates uncertainty in our available supply and creates wasted work for our staff.

Existing Clients:
If you need Bank Wire instructions please send a PGP signed and encrypted request to info@tangiblecryptography.com

New Clients:
We are not accepting new clients at this time.  We likely will open the service to new clients next week, depending on demand.

Pretty soon they'll find something wrong or unlawful with bank wires. You'd think plain old cash would be %100 ok to do. I will never understand how making a cash deposit to a business (paying for something) and then getting something in return (buying something) is unlawful. When bank wires become unlawful, what is next?

I've never done a bank wire before, do the instructions have the process?
Thanks
1615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: blockchain.info transactions unconfirmed on: April 05, 2013, 04:03:48 AM
I also had a transaction between blockchain wallets and even if i had default mining fee it wasnt included by blockchain.info and they was sent with 0 fee. Maybe thats the problem?
transaction was 0.077 but after 24hours it got 20 confirmations so not a problem but i suspect there might be a bug with fees in blockchain.info when you send between their wallets.

There indeed was a blockchain.info wallet issue 2 days ago. Users sending out bitcoin the fee wasn't included even though it was set to include it.
1616  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: First BFL ASIC! on: April 05, 2013, 04:01:43 AM
It is pretty obvious everything tactic was done to try and circumvent this bet so they didn't have to pay. Having a person that has not even a proto-type that is directly affiliated with BFL shouldn't even be considered here. Conflict of interest here people. Take Luke out of the picture, which he should be, BFL clearly lost this bet without question. Why was it a draw? It is so leaning towards losing and then somehow marked a draw? Strange things going on we don't know.

1617  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: April 3 BFL ASIC update. on: April 05, 2013, 03:44:01 AM

WTF is this? Are they actually going to FUCK all those pre-orders and try to scam more money out of people. Seriousy, if you ordered an SC for $1300 rated for 60 GH/s what the hell would you really get? ANYTHING? Dude, before they even come out with a proto-type they are already changing the product line up? Total failure here. Seriously.

That's so they don't have to honor long-term warranties. The pre-orders were all for Jalapenos, Little SCs, SCs, and MiniRigs and come with "lifetime" warranties. Lifetime being as long as the product is in production. Now there's a new line of products. All those "lifetime" warranties are now 1-year warranties.

But my dad ordered two SC's. He decided to pre-order them from the specifications on the product. 60GH/S was the specs. How are they going to send him two 60 GH/S units when they only make a 50GH/S?
1618  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: FastCash4Bitcoins (Update: bank funds & PayPal added) on: April 05, 2013, 03:25:09 AM
ACH and PAYPAL out of funds. Any approx time they will be funded again?
Thanks.

Bank funds have just been added. PayPal provides an ETA of 04/04 so we should have more funds available "today" but I can't be more specific than that.

I just checked for ACH and funds out again. Are the funds just selling out real quick?
Thanks.

Yes.  Reloaded bank funds again.  We have circuit breaker which prevents an excessive amount of coins being sold in a short period of time (like buying $100K at the peak price of the day in the span of five minutes).

PayPal funds are actually out.  Should have another batch clearing tomorrow (04/05).

Ahh yes, the circuit breaker for protection. Got it. Thanks for the quick response. Awesome.
1619  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: April 3 BFL ASIC update. on: April 05, 2013, 02:57:45 AM
Let's assume worst case scenario BFL takes our money and runs.  Is there any chance we can get our money back in that situation?  Through any intermediary?

If things go wrong, BFL will declare bankruptcy.  Then the remaining assets will be distributed to creditors by a trustee, if there are any assets remaining.  Your chance of recovering your full "pre-order" in this event is extremely unlikely.

There is a reason that the FTC Consumer Protection division has "prompt delivery" rules.  Know your rights.  If the delay is longer than 30 days or indefinite, you are to be promptly refunded unless you have agreed that the delay is acceptable.

If you are having issues obtaining a refund from BFL, you may file a complaint with the FTC here:
https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en

Definitely saving this link for my last refund that I have on a group buy.

I thought that image was 'shopped. But no, that image is for real!

Oh, look, they won't specify power usage anymore. WTG BFL.
