looks like this forum is driven on escrow providers, they make a living forcing us to use their service or rating us negative if we refuse doing that. unfair
Many of these services are FREE. Please look around before spreading FUD.

Well oftentimes the fact that someone has your personal info can be daunting and can be used against you as leverage or in some cases threats and blackmail. If a scammer has been doxxed and caught they'll sometimes send the money back rather than face the prospect of going to jail or retribution/retaliation etc.
Many times the bitter doxxer adds false information in hopes to embarrass and defame a person. Often times this is maliciously done with no real reason other than being a giant, butt hurt anus and to deflect some wrong doing they have perpetrated. Also, I have seen several "doxxing" attempts with horribly inaccurate information and in some case, completely false information. What I find amusing is these "doxxers" usually hide behind a new account, they don't have the balls to confront the person they are trying to dox or they don't want to be doxxed themselves.

Could someone please explain to me how escrow services work on BTCTalk? I assume the following:
1. Buyer and seller agree on price and item 2. Both send me a PM on agreement/terms of the sale 3. Buyer sends me the BTC 4. Seller ships item to the Buyer and gives me the tracking info 5. Buyer likes items received and then tells me to release his funds to the seller 6. I send the seller the BTC
Now that sounds all fine and dandy for transactions that work without problems. It also works well if the buyer never sends me the bitcoin payment (as I can verify this).
BUT what happens if the seller sends the item to the buyer then the buyer states the item was received damaged or the item is not the item they purchased etc....how does the escrow obtain reasonable evidence that the seller did indeed ship the correct item in good working order?
If you're already performing escrow services on BTCTalk I would greatly appreciate your response as well.
Thanks guys.
There is always a risk with escrow as well, but that risk is minimized greatly. If the item is defective, then the seller might request the buyer to ship it back for a refund. That's why when selling items, I take high res. pics of the item and any serial numbers. I've had people in the past try to claim damage and send me their identical (sans serial numbers) but broken hardware for a refund.

Hello i figured out people maybe having many problems with paypal and Bitcoins exchange so i started this thread with some points which may ave you from being scammed 1) First try to deal with only trusted people 2) Check their reputation about how much was the biggest deal 4) Ask the user to open dispute and close it ( un-authorized transaction dispute ) but this may get your account under review . Main thing is " If a deal seems to be more than fair think twice because it may let you loose your money in the end " Maybe this thread is of no use to many people but if this thread saved 1 person its more than enough Thanks. Your best bet is using 1 and 2 and a lot of caution.

Hello i figured out people maybe having many problems with paypal and Bitcoins exchange so i started this thread with some points which may ave you from being scammed 1) First try to deal with only trusted people 2) Check their reputation about how much was the biggest deal 3) Ask the person to send as Personal/Gift because gifts cant be charged back FALSE 4) Ask the user to open dispute and close it ( un-authorized transaction dispute ) Sure i f you want to risk having your account reviewed and potentially locked or closed. Main thing is " If a deal seems to be more than fair think twice because it may let you loose your money in the end " Maybe this thread is of no use to many people but if this thread saved 1 person its more than enough You really need to edit your post for accuracy. See gifts cant be charged back unless done as un-authorized When our Paypal account is proper and legal we don't worry about being reviewed And a scammer would have a hard time using a VPN to claim this? It happens all the time. Edit your post please, it is inaccurate. Edit: Anyone using the dispute method on a regular basis will trigger a review, legal account or not.

While I agree that any loan made to the OP will likely not be repaid, I don't think this should matter to any lender. The purpose of collateral is to allow the lender to recover the repayment amount by selling the collateral. As long as any potential lender is certain that he can sell the cs go skins (?) for the repayment amount or more then it should not matter if the OP pays the lender back with bitcoin or if the lender sells off the collateral for bitcoin.
I personally think a warning is appropriate given the large loan amount and the apparent uncertainty regarding the actual value of the collateral being offered; I think that a neutral warning would probably be more appropriate.
Then why not just sell them to begin with? He is asking for a loan with collateral valued from 10-30% premium if defaulted, claimed by OP. (I don't really know if the collateral is worth much.) Neutral would probably be more appropriate IMHO and a red if default. Collateral or not as a default is still default. Also, wanting a negative removed by claiming you were scammed by the leaver of that negative, without proof of any scam, is false and isn't helping you. I would suggest renaming and moving thread. It looks like he is trying to sell them, but it will take time to sell anything with a total value of $6,000 on here. The OP might have short term liquidity/cash needs and might be willing to pay a premium to get to receive a large amount up front. He was up front and honest about the fact that he was attempting to sell the collateral (he had a link to the sales thread in his lending thread). The OP has this in scam accusations but is not claiming that Vod actually scammed him, he is claiming that Vod is misusing the trust system. IMO it would be more appropriate for this to be in meta. Really? Have you not read the title?
