There is a chance that this will happen but most likely it will not happen because its just too much on this time, its possible on a longer term but not anytime soon. The problem is that the bitcoin is now still too small to do this, it needs to get a lot bigger to even be at the point to try it in my opinion.
Overall its possible but most likely it will not happen.
The chances is very slim even if you go to the future, dollar have been the money of US and they wont allow that a crypto currency to place their currency as it will weaken them and their industry. Yes indeed this is what people don't understand. Ofcourse bitcoin could have the potential to do all that but who says the higher ups are going to allow it? They could simply say they ban bitcoin for whatever reason and it would be finished.

No, I think bitcoin will not replace dollar soon. Even in 20 years time I think it won't be possible since banks and government won't let it happen that easily. Because of the said reason, There's a chance that bitcoin might not replace dollar as the king of currency. It's possible though that bitcoin will replace dollar but the chance of it happening is low. That being said let's just enjoy the benefits bitcoin has given us and the benefits it continues to give.
Well i doubt bitcoin can replace any currencie, and worse is that dollar its currently the currencie most used worlwide for almost all transactions between countries if the dollar wanna to buy all bitcoins and take control they can do it without pain, something bitcoin cant do for sure buy all the dollars.

Within 15 years of Bitcoin does not have time to replace the dollar. This is not such a quick process as some would like. Not all cities are ready for this, not everywhere else take Bitcoin as a payment means. And the government has not yet identified a clear position on this issue

So, we should say whether any fiat would be able to replace Bitcoins??? But seriously, for Bitcoins to have a value, we need fiat in real life for everything to be stable...

for the moment I feel that bitcoin will not replace the dollar, but it would be something new in the community. bitcoin might be used around the world, and maybe it will be shaped card that can be used anywhere. but I guess with so popularity dollar will be reduced because bitcoin, whether it could replace the dollar or not, but bitcoin will form something new and more popular

I don't think that too because there are a lot of things to be considered first before USD is going to make adoption of bitcoin as their primary currency. And it is going to be difficult for the people who are just going to use it newly and they must be educated first on how they are going to use it. Dollar will remain in the end, I think.

Wirh the recent events there have been news rhat USD might really go down. Although it is really known to the world it is possible. But that doesnt mean rhat bitcoin will be the one who will take over. I think they will hold on it hard until it reallt goes to zero.

I never think that Bitcoin will be able to replace the US Dollar because I just do not see something like that happening. The US knows what they are doing. Bitcoin does not need to take over the US Dollar, it needs to walk on its own path.

I really doubt that it may happen. Dollar is very strong as the currency, well known and it has power. Bitcoin hasn't us much power today and I think it never will. In the best result Bitcoin will be admited as currency in countries and stay on the same lavel as Dollar or Euro.

I highly doubt it in the near future or the next future. I remeber people in the 80's saying how fast gold would sell in the "2000s". Now they have a generational problem where the new generation (which see gold as "stone age" currency) are not as excited as they where in the 80's. I see the same generational effect happening where bitcoin can fall into the "stone age" category (maybe crypto) as a whole. Imagine crypto being replaced with your thumb print or iris scan to access funds, health records, etc.
Edit: there is a new "hype" every twenty years.

I agree that it will never replace any currency not only US Dollar. The reason is that bitcoin is decentralized and the government will have a hard time regulating or controlling it. Aside from that banks and other financial institution will reject it because it nullifies their control and wants the centralized currency.

so you thinking bitcoin will be no longer avaible? or no new adoption in bitcoin then "new highest technology currency" will replace bitcoin ?

Bitcoin is not yet as popular to talk about the fact that he will soon replace the dollar. It can happen, but not in a short time. Most likely there will be two currencies - the dollar and Bitcoin

I have a same opinion like you. It is not hard for bitcoin to take over dollar. However, it will take a long time for bitcoin to be more popular and to be accepted all around the world.

Exactly, bitcoin really does not require to replace any other currency in the world but it should make its own identity among the countries which are currently using other currencies like USD or EUROS for trades, if bitcoin can do that, then it can really become the strongest currency of the world.
