Karatsev just lost to Mannarino and a pretty shocking loss,Karatsev was a big favorite in this match.

Karatsev was seriously tired after several matches already played . He was sweating "like a crazy" after 2nd sets and suffered much much more today and not during match against Murray. Some times it was like he forget how to play tennis.... the only explanation I can had is related mental and physical status: too much consecutive games.
However Mannarino has played very well winning some crucial break points....I don't think he can go far away on that tournament but lets see if there is some "miracle" Smiley

Very poor choice of games for tonight, I picked a couple of matches just to have some skin in the game but small stakes only.
Medvedev -6.5 @1.65, he is much better player and I expect at least one set with multiple breaks which should cover this handicap even if one set gets really close or goes the wrong way
Cabal/Farah ML @1.5, this one should be quite secure, even 2:0 @2.20 looks tempting so I am taking both
Cornet ML @1.6, she destroyed Muguruza, while Zidansek had much more problems against weaker opponents, taking the bet on stats, did not see either of them play recently

In today's matches, I'm going for the following: (I was half asleep last night hence there's a couple of (unintentional) double wagers.

Ashleigh Barty - Amanda Anisimova Match Winner Ashleigh Barty @ 1.20 Taken Amount: 0.10 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.12 mBTC
Barbora Krejcikova - Victoria Azarenka Match Winner Victoria Azarenka @ 1.48 Taken Amount: 0.04 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.06 mBTC
Barbora Krejcikova - Victoria Azarenka Match Winner Victoria Azarenka @ 1.53 Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.05 mBTC
Madison Keys - Paula Badosa Gibert Match Winner Madison Keys @ 2.46 Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.07 mBTC
Madison Keys - Paula Badosa Gibert Match Winner Madison Keys @ 2.49 Taken Amount: 0.04 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.10 mBTC
Marketa Vondrousova - Aryna Sabalenka Match Winner Aryna Sabalenka @ 2.18 Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.07 mBTC
Marketa Vondrousova - Aryna Sabalenka Match Winner Aryna Sabalenka @ 2.32 Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.07 mBTC
Martic/Rogers - L.Kichenok/J.Ostapenko Match Winner L.Kichenok/J.Ostapenko @ 1.62 Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.05 mBTC
Sorana Cirstea - Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova Match Winner Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova @ 1.37 Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.04 mBTC
Sorana Cirstea - Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova Match Winner Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova @ 1.42 Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.04 mBTC

I watched the entire Barty Vs Giorgi match.  Giorgi faulted on her first serve to Ash and although she played a very good game, I got the feeling she was rattled by the fault (and made a couple of similar errors during the game).  I'll put money on her next time she's playing definitely.

@Timelord2067 seems to be happy enough with a lot of bets on the women though.

I can feel you, I haven't watch women's tennis for a while, but it's good to see Timelord2067 making money on the ladies tournament.

They might be small wagers, but I'm happy having the distraction at the moment.

Timelord prefers to watch women it seems, I get that, much easier on eyes than men side Smiley I just can't understand how he can win any money on them Smiley

I watched last 2 and a half sets of Alcaraz - Beretinni and I can't believe Italian managed to win it. It looked like Alcaraz took all the momentum on his side after loosing first 2 sets and then he fell apart in the middle of tie break. Don't get me wrong Berettini played some very nice points but than Alcaraz gifted some more.

Now watching Osaka - Anisimova, some serious hitting in this one and this could go both ways. Osaka 1 set up but I just placed a small bet on Anisimova @6.5 to try and get an upset. If Osaka wins I get 0.25 mBTC free bet on that Sportsbet promo so I am winning either way.

I caught from the third set on-wards and yes Alcaraz just starting falling apart.  Lot's of running around in unnecessary circles on the base line.

I switched to check out Barty - Giorgi match a bit since I knew that one will be much shorter so I did not see much of second set. Now back to Osaka match, must say I am impressed by Anisimova, she is hitting the ball beautifully. I knew she had good results but this is first time I am actually watching her play. Osaka has a serve advantage and that is it. This will be a very close match.

I felt Osaka - Anisimova would end the way it did.  I only caught a few minutes during the Barty game when Channel nine would look in on the other match.  They had similar scores from what I could see.

Hmmm I see also Timelord didn't go for Osaka....

A couple of others who managed to watched the game have alluded to Osaka powering down from the end of the second set.  This was Naomi's first major tournament after a break, so I guess she has found new strength - how much from here only she knows.

P.S. I'm not Timelord, only time I ever bet on women's tennis is 2:1 wins like today Wink

Come to the dark side (we have cookies and ladies playing tennis too!)  Cool

Shame about Raducanu losing. IIRC she did have a problem with a blister vs Sloane Stephens, but it really became a major issue today. TBH I'm quite impressed with how she managed to stay in the match and adapt her play to compensate for the discomfort and still be competitive. And her attitude is very good I think. Some people will look at the result and think 'oh, she's lost in an early round again', but actually there is quite a bit more to the story (particularly as she has also only just come back from Covid). I do think she'll have a very strong 2022.
Like this analysis of tennis game, and especially the way you break it down, so i believe that if you have give me description or channel i will follow your part and also analyze like you also.were can i watch the game i need liknk ?

Watching the Bautista-Agut vs T. Fritz currently, I have Bautista Agut by handicap.

He lost though the first set by bagel, but won the next 2 sets. But Fritz is coming back strong in the fourth set and hopefully this can go on a decider side. Fritz broke early and leading 3-2 and now serving to get a good lead.

@TimeLord2067: Do they have Whovians playing ladies tennis? I don't dislike the dark side at all, just rarely see any interesting odds though Trofo winning on Osaka getting dumped out proves I need to look harder. (Good luck to you on your Anisimova outright Trofo. Checked out odds myself but I don't seem to have as good as you got, so skipping).

@Kemarit: Fritz made it hard on himself today, huh. Did your handicap get this to a win?

I myself woke up to find my outright pick Tsitsi also made it through. Wasn't a clean game but I'll take a 4-set game any time of day.

In this tournament, I followed Osaka's return to tennis with special interest.
We all already know that her return was not the most successful and here is what she says about it:

''"I fought for every point. I can't be sad about that. You know, I'm not God. I can't win every match," she said.''
"For me, I feel like I grew a lot in this match," said Osaka.''
''"The last match that I played in New York I think I had a completely different attitude.''
''"I think this for me is the biggest step, even though I lost. I think I was really focused throughout the entire match, and I didn't have a dip. So that's really good."''

Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/60085418

Obviously, Osaka has a long way to go to return to the top of world tennis, but I'm glad she's back.
As for the other tennis players, for now all the favorites are winning in both men's and women's competition, and it will be very interesting to follow their clashes at the end of the tournament.
Medvedev, ZVerev, Nadal ... who is ready for the last step and winning this tournament?  Cheesy

I saw all three matches of Osaka in this tournament and i have to say she did play pretty well in my opinion. She won her first two matches in a pretty convincing way and only had a few phases where she didn't play well there. In her match against Anisimova she also did play pretty good in my opinion and it was a pretty close match overall. Both ladies have a very identical playstyle they are trying to hit the ball very early and are both playing very aggressive with a lot of power in their shots. I think Osaka lost that match because Anisimova showed a very good performance and not because Osaka herself played bad or something.

Osaka had 2 match points but couldnt make it so she lost marginally not massively.
Her post match interview is something to be positive about, she seems to be
more at ease with the fact that she cannot win every match and to manage
her expectations rather than all of ours.

My betting from last round was Sinner to win, which happened and Rublev to
win, which didnt! Cilic is on a bit of a roll so far in the AO, he did well to win in 4 sets.
The match stats are similar except for his 24 Aces, yes 24! against Rublev's 17. His 1st
serve % was 85 so it seems his game was all about the serve which worked well.

Sabalenka did not look good to me so I am skipping that one, granted I only watched a couple of games but she looked even more prone to unforced errors then usual. I agree about Azarenka, she is one of my picks as well. Looks like she is getting close to her old form.

I watched a lot of Anisimova and Barty and I am actually taking handicap on Anisimova here. I believe Barty is closer to winning but it will not be easy. Anisimova has some amazing ground strokes and I expect her to take a set here, maybe even a match if stars align. There is 6.5 handicap @1.65 which pays much better then Barty win and I expect it to pass easy.

I am glad she is back and she showed some decent form! Hopefully she can continue like this and keep mentally strong!

That's a pretty good odd and I will follow your bet. Barty will probably win (allthough an upset can also happen) but there is no value in Barty to win with an odd of around 1.2 .

BIG WINNER!

I have to say that Sabalenka disappointed me a bit. I was expecting her to do well in this tournament but she's making some errors which should not have been done in the first place.

I wouldn't say that expecting Anisimova to win is a bit much expectation but Tennis is full of surprises and also she's a very quality player. I would say that she will definitely take a set but again, it will be a difficult task as Barty on the other hand is also very skillful.

Finally, there was a big surprise at this tournament and one of the favorites for the title dropped out of the tournament.
Zverev lost very convincingly against Shapovalov in 3 sets.
Personally, I considered Zverev one of the main favorites to win this tournament, and now it seems to me, based on previous games, that the main favorites are Medvedev and Nadal.
What do you think?
In the men's doubles game, we already had a big surprise because top-ranked tennis players, Pavic and Mektic, dropped out of the tournament.

There was a total bloodbath during the night so I don't know what to think anymore.
Zverev loosing in straight sets to Shapovalov I could not see coming in million years. Odds were to low on Zverev and I expected a though much so I did not put money on it at least.

Azarenka and Sakkari loosing hit me on the bank though, and both of them lost in straight sets. Strange day in AO so far, only Nadal doing the expected so far.

EDIT:
Zverev lost very convincingly against Shapovalov in 3 sets.

You posted while I was posting it Smiley

I also considered Zverev maybe even first candidate for title, he looked very determined and won everything with ease while both Medvedev and Nadal had some ups and downs in their game.

Woke up to some surprising results and more upsets, biggest for me is Zverev.

On the mens side I agree that its really Medvedev and Nadal left to take the title
with Tsitsipas as an outsider.

On the womens side, Sabalenka, Halep and Swiatek can hopefully can make a strong
challenge to Barty who has just beaten Anisimova but the draw is still very open.

My only bet in this round is on Monfils, who is leading 2 sets to nil against Kecmanovic,
who has come through the rounds because of Djokovic's departure.

Next up Carreno Busta v Berrettini, cant call this one.

What do you think?

Nadal at 7/1 before Djoko was out to me was the best bet I'd have taken BUT I decided to go for Tsitsipas at 18/1 instead -- I think the odds reflected people thinking his injury would get in the way but he's reached 2 semis here and I know he wants to do better while the world's bests aren't at their best right now. Glad @aoluain agrees the Greek as an outsider. I like my chances like that.

Yes, I'd favour Medvedev, with Nadal as second. I can't see anyone else winning it.

In the women's, I can't see anyone other than Barty winning. It's looked so easy for her so far.

Top seeds winning? This is boring, isn't it? Cheesy Yes there have been a few surprises with some high seeds getting knocked out earlier than we might have anticipated... but the big favourites are still there, and still looking formidable.

Yeah i was also very surprised when i saw the result of Zverevs match against Shapovalow, i really thought he had a huge chance to win this one as Djokovic could not participate and Thiem also. I saw clips of him where he is destroying his racket so i guess it was just one of those days where just nothing worked out at all for him, which happens. I guess a lot of bets were lost because of this result. Nadal on the other hand showed a very convincing performance again and so far he really played great in this tournament with the exception of the third set against khachanov. If he can keep those performance level up and his body wont let him down then he is a big favorite for the title.

I even had a bet on Zverev, Lol, and it's really hard to watch the game and see him lost against Shapovalov. So I guess this is one of the biggest upset so far in the men's side.

Yep, just one of those days wherein you are really having a bad game and nothing is clicking so he must be really frustrated. Nadal's story is very different though, he is really back with a strong showing, and if I'm not mistaken, having drop a set yet?
