Cryptocurrencies can become popular within a short period of time in today's age, and they have higher chances of becoming
popular if they have a name that is widely accepted and equally liked among different cultures. Bitcoin is such a name.
Byteball, as well, is a very attractive and nice name for a cryptocurrency project that embraces simplicity and elegant
technology. Along with a new consensus algorithm and untraceable payments, as well as chat built in from the beginning, this
one is one to observe and get involved in.
You said it man. Byteball, like snowball but instead of snow, bytes are rolling. Byteball really needs a community manager who can reach out to exchanges and organize marketing, etc... Maybe, but I wouldnt do that yet, to reach exchanges - those places are filled with "altcoin traders", an echo- chamber of the same people. To reach a wider audience, to gain more actual users and not speculators, we need to reach channels where altcoiners are not present. Niches where geeks do not hang around. Mom forums. Those kind of places, where you wouldnt think to mention byteball, but we do need it, to diversify and grow userbase. To learn what they need, what is difficult in the current wallet, to remove any obstacles for them to "pay" with very small price for something they want. Exchanges are easy, every currency will get there, but to reach actual users is hard, and thats why its more worth to (begin) doing. It would be nice with digital-service webshop, like "Send us bytes, which you can buy with PayPal/Visa/MasterCard from here ..., to receive access to ad-free content or gain imaginary karma-points on a forum". Must have something of worth for people to start and use a wallet over. The more stuff you can buy, the more success byteball will have. definitely more doors are there the more chance of success are also there.

how many bitcoin been linked right now?
also maybe we should ask bittrex list byteball coin.
Honestly the longer off bittrex the better for the time being. With Bittrex and polo come the big dumps.

It is too bad I wasn't already wealthy in bitcoin so I could be wealthy in byteball, too.
I understand why the distribution needed to be done this way, but byteball doesn't much appeal to me (like all coins that distribute proportionally to prior wealth) because the same exact people who control the majority of wealth in bitcoin get to control the majority of wealth in byteball, without taking on any additional risk (there's no risk at all since there's no investment through mining or otherwise, so obviously risk is not proportional/does not scale at all). In other distribution models of course the wealthier you are to begin with the more you can get by investing more, but you also take on more risk proportional to how much you invest. Here the rich just get richer.
Not to mention all the projects with huge sums of bitcoin from ICOs that get huge amounts of byteball wealth off the backs of their investors. And the exchanges that get huge amounts of byteball wealth off the backs of their users.
So while the tech here appears to be groundbreaking the economics are more than a bit discouraging.

Is the chatbot down at the moment? Can't seem to link any addresses.
Also, if I linked a bitcoin address in the last round, will it automatically participate in this round? Will the bytes that I received participate in this round or do I need to link them somehow?

Maybe it requires 100% sync to be able to saved the entire chain in the beginning.

Your linked addresses stay linked forever, your bytes from previous rounds entitle you to bytes from the next rounds and if they are on linked addresses, you also get blackbytes.

Is this a permanent error? Sometimes (especially on Android for me), I get this error when there seems to be connection/syncing problems, however it disappears once the device seems synced ... My advice would be to just retry ...

Maybe it requires 100% sync to be able to saved the entire chain in the beginning. but byteball.sqlite is not resetting from begining. i mean right now my byteball.sqlite size is around 900MB from couple days ago, but since sync progress took alot longer (1 day only 30%) i need to shutting down my laptop. when i launch byteball again, it's start from 0% and byteball.sqlite size growing to > 900MB

Use the lite wallet option during installation. I have run by Byteball lite wallet on three different devices and never have problems .. Also common problem: the virus scanner (disable)

It is normal, the % shows the percentage of the work left.

Yes, Byteball lite wallet runs excellent on PC, mobile phone and tablet. I have never had a wallet sync so fast.

Hey folks. This looks like a really interesting project. I'm keen to see where it goes.
I've got a couple of questions:
1. There will be or are 1,000,000,000,000,000 bytes, so that's 1,000,000 GBYTES, correct? 2. Are blackbytes traded anywhere? What will be the coin supply of blackbytes? 3. Do I need to link a Bitcoin address for the next distribution round, if I have already linked that address for the last round?
TIA.
