The bitcoin donation address of the Byteball Community Fund is

35Bpkq2EoadRAwjmiTabWXUTn15X8Z7aii 39zeGpu4nG6BqB9ARxd9xM9XThX9JCmx8t (new address)

Thank you very much!

Byteball Community Announcement

The Byteball crypto project has done great so far. Tony, the chief developer, laid the foundation for this with his great invention and continuous hard work. But this project would be nothing without you - the users. Great ideas, testing, translations, marketing, so much was achieved by the community and it's invaluable! To reward those users who play an active role in the community and therefore accelerate the progress of the Byteball crypto project, a fund was created:

The Byteball Community Fund

Purpose
The Byteball Community Fund's goal is to support and encourage the Byteball crypto platform. Fund raising is done by voluntary donations from investors, stakeholders and enthusiasts. Donation payments are accepted in bytes, blackbytes and bitcoins. The fund will pay out bounties for byteball-related work such as reporting security vulnerabilities, software bugs, user support, marketing campaigns etc.

Security
As a security measure, both byteball and bitcoin wallets of the fund use multi-signature transaction confirmation. The trustees of the Byteball Community Fund are:

   * Tony (Anton Churyumoff, byteball's chief developer)
   * CryptKeeper (byteball's community leader)
   * Marenkar (Travin Keith, board member Nxt Foundation)
   * Durerus (byteball investor and adviser)

Any outgoing transaction needs to be confirmed by at least 3 trustees (3-of-4 multi-sig).

Project funding
Besides bounty payment for smaller achievements, the fund can also decide to support byteball-related projects. For most projects, the project leaders should seek funding by investors or organize a crowdfunding. Because the community fund supply is scarce, funding of such projects should be the last option sought and will only be considered if the project is important for the platform.

Decision-making procedure
As this fund is a community fund, byteball community members will be actively involved in the decision making for the most important issues and community feedback will be taken into account by the trustees.

Like the multi-sig setup implies, trustees come to a decision in an informal meeting with a simple majority.

Fund management
The goal of the community fund is not to gain profits by trading with the donated currencies. Quite the contrary, the fund must be managed in the most conservative way to avoid any risks! However it may be necessary to exchange one currency to another to maintain the fund's liquidity and to be able to pay expenses if another currency is required. The decision of whether a share of the fund should be exchanged will be decided by the trustees with a simple majority.

To maximize the effectiveness of the donations, the fund's wallet addresses will take part in the distributions of free bytes and blackbytes.

Accounting
Fund accounting will be as transparent as possible and detailed reports published regularly, though donors and bounty recipients can choose to stay anonymous.
Current fund balances: 8.47 GB / 3,303.20 GBB / 0 BTC

Donation accounts
If you want to donate, please use one of the following addresses:

For Bytes: KREOV5Y57FRWQKDHJ7BD3SFQBEVVPAG3

For BTC: 35Bpkq2EoadRAwjmiTabWXUTn15X8Z7aii 39zeGpu4nG6BqB9ARxd9xM9XThX9JCmx8t (new address)

You can also donate Blackbytes! In this case, please contact Tony or CryptKeeper, who will guide you through the process.

im involved in many cryptocoin projects and i would love take part on byteball too

just all my value is in altcoin not in bitcoins

wouldnt it be fair and also attract a lot of the more open mindet non pure bitcoin crowd

if u also share bytes towards owners of altcoins

as long as they are traded on a exchange vs btc its easy to find out their BTC value and reward the with correct amount of bytes

also it help ya to attract many more people

i think the average altcoin investor is way deeper educated about blockchains than the pure bitcoin investor

its a crucial skill in altcoin ecosystem that u understand a bit mpre about blockchain technology else u would burn yourself at most invests

Exactly what I said at the start. Although those in this thread are hoping they are of the select few to link their byteball wallets to their btc so they are not too bothered about this right now. As soon as this distribution method is widely known to the alt coin section i predict an instant pariah coin and subsequent cloning with fairer distribution model.

To me personally I don't have clear benefit either way since I hold some BTC and some alts.

The OP though should have considered this for the longevity of this particular project.

Nulling the top 2 percent of btc wallets would serve as a  token of making it fairer than is currently planned.

Ill be linking my btc wallets regardless but will not argue against the great number of critics that will emerge once word gets out after project launch.

I'm adding my 2 cents very late.

The advantage of distributing for free to BTC hodlers and forcing altcoin hodlers to buy, is that BTC maximalists are conservative, but very serious, so you need a way to entice them in. Altcoin speculators are more likely to buy.

See the following important suggestion. Am I missing something?

"Few minutes" won't work as you require few hours for BTC transfer to be confirmed within block chain.
You could buy and transfer one day before the snapshot and sell one day later after the distribution ends.
This will work.

Ah that defeats the compelling advantage of having such an interest incentive.

Does this explain why the chart is dumping like the Chocolate Hills of Bohol on a monthly period?

They should have designed it such that if the coins trade in that month, then they don't participate in the interest rewards that month. To discourage short-term trading which would decrease the monthly volatility and to reduce selling pressure and increase buying pressure.

If Tony will make that change (assuming there isn't some significant disadvantage), I would probably buy. Please PM me if the change is made (or if the quoted post above is mistaken).

Edit: I just realized another flaw that BB's distribution went those who don't even own the BTC, i.e. ICOs and exchange BTC whales. And a suggestion that would have prevented this was apparently ignored, although I can understand that the BTC splitting requirement would made a lot of people unmotivated yet I can also say I was entirely unmotivated to take my BTC off the exchange in order to register it for Byteball (I have too many things to do, otherwise my BTC wouldn't be stored on an exchange!).

Sure, it would be really nice to have byteball on poloniex while we have a low supply of bytes currently in circulation.

What are differences between these two coins? Is blackbyte is in circulation or not? And how to get it?

Blackbyte is already in circulation at the same time as byte. You can participate on the next round of distribution if you want to get it for free or you can buy them on slack.

Byteball and Blackbyte distributions always take place at full-moon. Next distribution should be on the 11 of April. See you there!
