Will this mean that to conduct any transaction in the Byteball wallet (even transferring Bytes to an exchange) we will need to perform this KYC with Jumio?

Certainly not. KYC is completely optional and would be used for circumstances where it is required because of trust or lawfulness.

Ha-ha, it is funny how liberal kids react on KYC option, like somebody is going to take anonymity from them, which they never had first of all. This is hilarious Smiley)))

To be serious, digital identity on DAG opens up opportunities for many businesses, like decentralized lending and many more. There are situations in business when anonymity is desired, not bitcoin like pseudo-anonymity, but real anonymity. In many other situations though business people value privacy and transparency, which means that business partners want to know each other, but they don't want the rest of the world to know about their deal. If byteball could provide such environment, this could be a real breakthrough.

The markets don't echo it yet but they will soon. I still have the hardest time believing this is under 10 million sats right now, like how is that even possible given all the shitcoins rising? Baffles my mind god damn!

Hopefully 2018 will be the year of the DAG and then on to conquering the top ten spots in the cryptocurrency ranking. However I want to hear stories about dev workshop learning the Byteball codebase.

Good news: the Byteball wallet at Cryptopia seems to have been upgraded to version 2.0 (currently still syncing). Hopefully this means withdrawals will be back online soon (in time for the planned 1 March airdrop).

No doubt about it. 2018 will be the year of DAG.

The markets don't echo it yet but they will soon. I still have the hardest time believing this is under 10 million sats right now, like how is that even possible given all the shitcoins rising? Baffles my mind god damn!

What did you expect, if:
- the only exchange with liquidity, where you can trade Byteball (Bittrex) has 0.4 BTC withdrawal limit and they DON'T accept new users
- on the second exchange (Cryptopia) you can't withdraw byteball AT ALL!

So which market exactly do you expect to echo the technical breakthrough? There is NO MARKET that would do that for Byteball right now.

People with deep pockets (like me) just can't put money into byteball without locking them on exchanges or then spending months to withdraw them. New people cant buy and withdraw Byteball at all (no access to Bittrex, no withdrawals on Cryptopia)! They can only get Byteball via free distribution. How do you expect Byteball to gain value then?

Shitcoins get high valuations, because they are smart enough to get listed on Binance, Bithumb or any of the top exchanges.

I swear the team to apply to KuCoin.
This is the fastest growing exchange. No verification, no withdrawal limits. They list 50 coins now and want to add THOUSAND coins this year! If Byteball doesn't manage this, then I have deep doubts about the ability of the team.

Thanks Wekkel, that sounds good. Can you please update if you find that withdrawals are functioning again? Thanks!

My daily withdrawal limit at Bittrex is 100 BTC (enhanced account). I hate the requirements they put up to get it, but after jumping through all their hoops it works fine again.

True. That makes Byteball's untapped potential enormous. I expect a price jump if it gets added to a bigger exchange.

As you already know from yesterday news, we are bringing identity to crypto.

Full article: https://medium.com/byteball/bringing-identity-to-crypto-b35964feee8e

Real name attestation bot is added to the Bot Store:

The bot is open source: https://github.com/byteball/real-name-attestation

It uses Jumio to verify identity.  Many of you already know Jumio because many crypto businesses trust them to do identity verification.  For example, it is integrated with Bittrex and Coinbase.

The attestation is paid, it is $8.00 per attempt, but after successfully verifying yourself for the first time, you get $20.00 from the distribution fund.  This is one of the new distribution methods.  Thanks to identity, it is abuse-free.

After being verified, a hash of the personal data is posted to the DAG while the personal data itself is saved in your wallet.  You can disclose this data to a service provider who needs it, and you choose what to disclose:

The service provider verifies this data using the above mentioned hash.

Many ICOs already require KYC from their investors.  Now, we provide this option out-of-the-box, and it is incredibly easy to use for both the end user and the ICO issuer.  No other ICO platform can do this.

The attestation bot also offers to attest that you are a non-US user if it sees that you are a non-US citizen and using non-US IP address to access the jumio site during verification.  This is useful for many ICOs that don't do full KYC but want to allow only non-US users access to their tokens.  They need it to avoid the US extraterritorial jurisdiction.

This doesn't work. I tried hours ago, the wallet just said, "No payment created or something." Maybe a server is turned off or something. I was looking for to this though.

I expect many new users from poor countries. If it's a 2 day salary I can imagine people doing this.
It is an impressive feature though, I may do this if there's a very good reason for which I need it.
