I am holding Gbytes since a very beginning but don't want to expose myself and verify identity. Will I receive?

Where is the announcement of these extra 10% Bytes for KYC, I can't find anything about it on Medium ot the Byteball website? That means I have to do this Jumio KYC thing if I want the extra Bytes? I thought that's only for Referral rewards.  Huh

From https://byteball.org/:

Quote
Part of the Bytes will be distributed as cashback for purchases at the merchant stores we partner with. In most cases, the offered cashback is 10% of the purchase amount. Fill out the application form or contact us if you run a store or a payment processor and want to be part of the cashback program.

Another part of the distribution is split into multiple rounds and in each round holders of BTC and Bytes are rewarded. The amounts you receive are proportional to your proven balances in BTC and Bytes on the distribution date, these are the rules for the November round:

For every 16 BTC you receive 0.1 GB (1 gigabyte = 1 billion bytes),
For every 1 GB you receive additional 0.1 GB.
To prove your balances, install the wallet and chat with the Transition Bot (you find it in the Bot Store in the wallet). The bot will help you link your Bitcoin and Byteball addresses by making a micropayment or signing a message.

You also receive blackbytes in proportion to your linked BTC balance and your balance in Bytes on the linked Byteball address.

The first distribution round took place on Dec 25, 2016 when the network launched, over 70,000 BTC was linked, and 10% of the total supply of bytes and blackbytes was distributed. In the subsequent rounds, the total distributed supply reached 64.5%:

2nd round on Feb 11, 2017: 121,763 BTC linked, 1.8% distributed;
3rd round on Mar 12, 2017: 129,139 BTC linked, 2.0% distributed;
4th round on Apr 11, 2017: 145,441 BTC linked, 2.3% distributed;
5th round on May 10, 2017: 207,672 BTC linked, 2.9% distributed;
6th round on Jun 9, 2017: 453,621 BTC linked, 6.6% distributed;
7th round on Jul 9, 2017: 949,004 BTC linked, 11.0% distributed.
8th round on Aug 7, 2017: 1,395,899 BTC linked, 16.0% distributed.
9th round on Sep 6, 2017: 1,306,573 BTC linked, 5.7% distributed.
10th round on Nov 4, 2017: 1,093,155 BTC linked, 6.1% distributed.
The 11th round is tentatively scheduled for the full moon of March (Mar 2, 2018 at 00:51 UTC). The balances will be snapshotted at the time of the first Bitcoin block after this date, and rules for this round are as indicated above. Depending on the progress of other distribution methods, this round can be postponed or even canceled.

If you hold, you will receive 10%. No matter if your address is attested or not.

a fair good job!

I don't understand. The performance of Gbyte is not as good as expected, though it looks better than btc.

This test discovered the tps limits under the current network infrastructure. There is no the protocol or architectural limit though and when necessary the team will be able to increase the tps limit. The team is very practical and hasn't made "showcasing" tps a priority, otherwise a few zeros could be added to the results.

Here's a good section of Tony talking about current tps status.

I am disappointed by the byteball, after a very attractive airdrop to bitcoin holders and attracted a lot attentions, the byteball reverse its course for airdrop. This serious damages the credibility of the coin and caused a lot dump. Hope it will be back to its course an establish a better credibility.

Why you are disappointed? Attractive airdrop to bitcoin holders was a good thing but we see that many people sell the airdropped coins very fast and dump the price. Now searching Tony for another distribution to make the userbase bigger. This is good for a stable price and the credibility from Byteball or from Tony was never the question. Stay strong and Hodl, Byteball is IMHO one of the undervalued coins in the market.
But you are right, it is nothing for fast and easy free money  Wink

I am a little bit confused about the next distribution. First I thought there will be an upcoming full moon distribution on March. Then I read a blog article on Byteball Medium blog which says there will be distribution only for new and existing Byteball accounts which do a verification. What information is correct? Or are both correct?

Both are correct.

There will be distribution on 2th march. If you verify your identity and hold until then, you will receive a 10% extra bytes.

This will be probably the last airdrop.

Where is the announcement of these extra 10% Bytes for KYC, I can't find anything about it on Medium ot the Byteball website? That means I have to do this Jumio KYC thing if I want the extra Bytes? I thought that's only for Referral rewards.  Huh

I also would like to know where this information is coming from. It is NOT on the OP, where it is still mentioned the November airdrop. Where has the information about the upcoming airdrop in March been published? I'd like to get the link of the announcement please.

Meet new ICO on BB Platform.

https://silentnotary.com/

SilentNotary is a digital notary that saves and certifies documents, emails, chats, and audio/video recordings.  The authenticity of these records will be ensured by posting them both to Ethereum blockchain and Byteball DAG.  The ICO is active until 15 March 2018.  Find "SilentNotary ICO" bot in the Bot Store, you can buy SNTR tokens with Bytes, BTC, or Ether.

I am a fan of Byteball and I am very happy that ICOs are finally starting to use the Byteball platform.
I am a bit disappointed however that the first ICO to use it is SilentNotary, which failed to reach softcap its first ICO and didn't pay bounties to a large number of people who had helped them in the promotion, as it is easily perceivable by reading the comments on their bounty thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2016468.msg24451549#msg24451549

A better and less controversial partner would have been a better news.
This being said, I wish long life to Byteball and many more (and better) adoptions by ICOs in the future!

Hello!
I need to clarify this unpleasant story.

Yes, we did not have a very good start, it's true. We started ICO with a not very developed product at a time when the wave of ICO was sweeping us.
We have not achieved success and have offered our contributors a refund or continuation of the project. Almost all stayed: https://medium.com/@silentnotary/silentnotary-has-been-reborn-91c2b1292d01

According to the conditions of the bounty campaign, in case of failure, no one should receive anything. This is fair (among them, by the way, there were a lot of fake acounts).
Despite this, we paid them tokens at a very good rate. The only condition was that they themselves had to take them away from the distributing smart-contract that we have developed for this case (since we could not spend funds on the commissions).
Despite detailed instructions, some of the participants did not take their tokens.
We have extended the distribution contract.
Nevertheless, some of the participants consider themselves offended. It's up to you, but in my opinion we did more than we should have.

We took into account the negative experience, so now we have developed and available for testing almost the all entire technical part:
  • Mobile Apps for iOS and Android (on Appstore and PlayMarket)
  • Integration with messengers through notary bots (Telegram, Slack, Facebook messenger)
  • Web interface with a personal account,
  • Notarization-by-email (email notary service)
  • API

We persistently continue our project and are confident of its success.
SilentNotary team.

Hey
I don't know actually
what's the heck held your back
from including btc address into future drop distribution list
of byteball? But just wondering why would segwit address opt to acts
as a core reason to prevent you linking btc address into byteball wallet transition system!
Anyway make sure you
spends little a bit time reading few guidelines to follow for linking address before start of the process!
Here is a great reading
regarding how to linking btc address for participating byteball airdrop's distribution!

https://wiki.byteball.org/airdrop

Thanks!

I have a question about the current status of the network as it has been more than 6 hours since wallet on Bittrex and cryptopia is on automated maintenance mode. I was wondering whether there is something officially going on as at the same time two different exchanges are showing same kind of status.

Bittrex wallet working fine now.
Withdrew all my Bytes last night in a few chunks and each time they hit my wallet in under 1 minute.

which is the best way to switch from a full node wallet to a light one - without losing old addresses of course?

If you only have public assets (bytes for instance) then the seed is enough. Save it, uninstall your full wallet, install a light wallet and restore using the seed. You'll get your addresses with their public assets' balances.

If you have private assets (blackbytes for instance) then you'll have to wait for your full wallet to sync, install a(n intermediary) light wallet elsewhere (a different user will do if you want to stay on the same machine) and transfer your blackbytes then your bytes to it. If you want your old addresses back, then after emptying your full wallet, uninstall it, install a light one and recover from the seed. You'll then have to send your assets from your intermediary light wallet to your newly installed light wallet (always leave sending the bytes at the end, because you'll need them for fees to send everything else).

I went through the process as suggested but I had to find out that this is simply not possible if you have multisig addresses in your app. While trying to recover from the seed I've got a message of "invalid seed", I guess because there were multisig addresses inside. So it really seems that if you want to switch from a full node wallet to a light one and you are having multisig addresses you cannot do it without losing all your old addresses. It is a pity, because one should never renounce to old addresses just in case you find out you still need some. However, keeping the full node on PC is a constant pain one would rather get rid of. So the only choice not to lose the old addresses while switching to a lite node is to keep forever ALSO a backup of your (now emptied) fullnode wallet, to be restored just in case of need.
I hope my experience can be useful to others with my same needs.

We surely agree in this, that's why we are here in fact, piling up precious Gigabytes for our tomorrows Smiley
Meanwhile I've found a mention of the upcoming Airdrop on the website. It should happen on the 2nd of March, unless it would be decided not to do it Smiley

If you had checked the website rather than the OP, You would've seen the answer to your question. Btw, The march airdrop is scheduled for 2nd March, 2018. OPs are only updated with information available  at the time the thread was created.
