With all of this hash-power coming online -- when are we going to get an update on Neptune?
We are only 13 days into Q1. My son, you have a much longer wait. Months. My friends and I bought a large order of ASIC boards/chips and finally everything is built. I'm going from 555Gh/sec to 5Th/sec. And since the electricity is all on a generator paid for by the building owners they could care less filling that thing with diesel everyday. The party starts now! Since I really won't need my Saturn/Jupiter anymore maybe I'll auction it off. Fine running machine. Lucky you! What chips/boards did you get hold of? I have no idea. I was basically the "money" in this venture. They needed me and I needed them. Their the experts in building everything, even doing some of their programming. I've been waiting for over a year on this because it was so hard to get the ASIC chips I was told...but they finally were delivered. Having a native Chinese guy on the team who has family in China really helps a lot! What's up with this new firmware? 99.2-tune? I applied it and I'm hashing 10-15 Gh/sec lower. Oouch. "-tune" should give a clue..... tune it! ......every asic is different Yea, right. With no official documentation or limits I'm going to fool around with that. I was doing just fine on .99 firmware and I think I'm going to flash back to that. I was at a steady 560Gh/sec which I could live it.

I haven't seen a difference in speed between 0.99.1 & 0.99.2 It just added features and security.

I'm definitalely going to change back to maybe .98 or something. Ever since I got into the .99 I've been hashing a lot slower. My Dad's miner also has a small issue. On one of his OUTPUT CURRENT value's it is very low. Is there a reason why this is? Here is a screen shot of it.

Disabled cores is my bet, give it more voltage.

When btc gets to 100k, with some btc earned with my Saturn, should I pick Icon A5 or Volocopter?

I myself have some kinda "genie" in my Jupiter box.....I hashed at 555gh when it was at...the first software (what was it .90 or some such?) it hashed at 555gh at .95 it hashes at 555gh at .99 (before tuning version) it hashes at 555gh with the cover off and two fans on it and the temp in the basement was 51F (the Midwest deep freeze of 2 wks) it hashes at 555gh today with the temp at 60F its friggin processed is what it is..... now Phonex1969 has a different genie (or did) his only worked well when the temp went up (Hawaii) anyway go figure...me I'm probably just gonna leave the dang thing alone there is something "comforting" about just letting the thing hash a month or more (just don't bump the table..them isobar circuit breaker 8plugs are pretty slick) now just have to make a voodoo doll against lightning or I will have phoenix1969s fate Searing

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

It doesn't matter what temperature or firmware version it is. I think a lot (not all) of the tinkering people were doing were just guys that can't help but fiddle with everything electronic or mechanical, lol. Remember the "ionizer guy"?

The ionizer topic was very entertaining! Maybe if we all start approving it we can start a religion? And maybe sell a few "miner overclock kits" to some BFL customers? ;P

Pretty soon our upgraded Saturn's aren't going to matter with the project I have going on, but they feel like our first baby and we still have to take care of them.
Both of our upgraded Saturn's use to hash rock steady at 560Gh/sec. We have even upgraded our power supplies so each module is on it's own line. Then slowly no matter which firmware we used the hash rate would just very slowly drop and never increase again. Both of our Saturn's are doing this and they are hooked up hashing 100 miles apart from one another. Could it be that the hardware is starting to fail? We never had to mess around with their tuning kit. Apparently their hardware isn't as good as I thought it was if only after 3-4 months starts to behave negatively. I tested the power supplies, made sure all our connections are good. The only thing left is the hardware itself. Very strange our hashing speed would just decrease from 560 all the way to 520 with no intervention at all.

that happens to me IF i keep the web page stat thing up on the browser to your machine via the ip....the knc web interface...now i don't use that i just power up the machine and see if all is well with putty and ssh...i also am running 99 not tuneup version since i did that this slow drain does not happen over time...also i am on dedicated elec 20amp to the miner and dedicated ip to the miner nothing else on any of that anyway ....all i have for all it is worth Searing

I never keep the web stats page up at all. I barely ever use it and when I did finally use it just to checking something noticed how slow things were going.
Is there any documentation for using the "tune" firmware? Before you start to blow up your rig? How many volts? Frequency, anything like that? Did KNC release anything on that or just threw it at us and said good luck?

Advanced tuning is only usable if your miner is not healthy (dead dies, disabled cores etc.), or you overclocking your machine. I am running 630 GH/s right now with my Oct Jupiter.
