Been said already yadda yadda yadda but selling us upgrade modules instead of full units at this point is really friggin' stupid and a waste of time. What are those of us with Jupiters supposed to do with them? Not all Jupiters even have the expansion ports installed.
They should quit screwing around and sell some more Jupiters for super cheap. They have made a lot of money off us especially those of us that returned for the Neptune preorders. Speaking of which we deserve an official update on the project status right bloody now.
They should sell modules and Jupiters. They designed a product based on modularity, and 2 batches of it went out the door. They provided only a handful of modules total for the first batch. They then designed another generation of product, and sold 2 batches of it while the "modular upgrades" mantra was still listed as a selling point on the website. They took it off recently. They have been somewhat deceptive in practice, of selling their equipment as upgradable, but refusing to provide said modular upgrades. KNC, updates on modules and Jupiter sales? |

I only bought a KNC rig because it was supposed to be upgradeable with extra modules. Intending to let it earn it's own module upgrades. Too fucking late now. One tiny batch of modules which were probably RMA or something that sells out in minutes with no warnng was pathetic. |

I will give them the benefit of the doubt, and accept that they cannot source the parts they needed to build the Jupiter's for another round of sales, but there is nothing stopping them from selling the upgrade modules. I understand not everyone can use them, but I have 3 empty slots in my Saturn+Module. I could use those 3 modules. That would double my hashing power with my KNC Gear. I have 1.5TH/s thats NOT KnC gear, I would really like to add some more KnC power to my total hash. I'm sure a lot of other would agree. C'mon guys, lets try to make this happen. Please email KnC and let them know you are interested and you want to purchase the modules/ Jupiter's. Thing is they might just not be willing to step into the arena with the prices as they are now. Unless they can offer something off the shelf, immediately available then they are going to have to compete with the competition on price/GH
So how does best value competition look now?
antminer (180GH): $1200 - $6/GH
A 650GH Jupiter at antminer prices would be around $4000

I'm pretty sure it does not cost them more then $2000 for all parts including labor. I'm sure they could sell them as low as $3000. At that price, I'm willing to buy a few Jupiters, even at $3500. And I'm quite sure they could sell the upgrade modules for $600-$800.

Due to Neptunes, KnC Jupiters are history for their customers. KnC is still sleeping well with Neptunes!
Overprices and under-deliveries are true with many Nov. Jupiters with dead Die issues!
They promise soon release patch tools but 2 months with no news about that.
Poor KnC on this matter!

My estimate is inventory cost of $1k for a jupiter. based on the price they insure for shipping. KNC, will we see modules soon? |

To be honest that would fit their attitude since they got rich.... communication was awesome until the 1st Jup batch, fell away to almost zero. Time to market was the buzzword, they never shut up about it, now it's secondary even though, if anything it's more important? They had little real competition until now, maybe you're right, but maybe it doesn't matter because invesdurrs are done with them? They no longer need us either way, we paid for their start-up.  |

Among the miner producers that I had a pleasure/displeasure to deal with (4 different companies and 1 scam) they are so far the best. And this BS about upgrade modules not being available is actually BS. If you wanted to get some you did get some. I've got 3. No news sucks, I agree, but what kind of news would you expect? Earlier delivery? Power consumption? Size of the case? Fab they are using? WTF? I do not get this KNC bashing thing. |

Possibly you are right, however, wasn't that just reasonable to assume that they will have less upgrade modules than ppl will want/need? The moment they have announced that they are going to offer some upgrade modules I simply camped their website waiting for the news. But that's old news. I must admit it would be nice if they said explicitly if they are going to offer more upgrades or not but what other news should we expect from them? Just curious. |

Well I wanted some, never had an email, came home one night to see this thread with people saying they'd all gone.
Many to people with no slots to put them in their rigs. So no, upgrade modules may as well not have existed for me because I wasn't sitting 24/7 watching for them and expected some decent numbers when they did become available and perhaps an email to inform me of the timing of them going on sale...to a day at least.
They know how many Sats and Mercs they sold, so they had an idea of how many to offer. Oh, and they weren't universally compatible either were they?

Asking cause I'd need to get 4 of them in the "long" version, since the short ones can't connect the rear ASIC boards to the controller board and I tried various ways to search for them but always get hdmi cables as results  |

To my knowledge they were, I did not have to mess with them in any way. Nov batch? I seem to remember them saying they weren't Oct rig compatible, couldn't mix and match due to different firmware? |
