i thought i'd dabble with an alt coin... tried a PoS one, it's a crock of shit, buggy as hell and totally pointless.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Maybe KnC have very good relations and they can get it faster. They do chips for 10 years. Can't be all in vain.
It was ORSoC first ASIC. They had FPGA code, ALCHIP did all the job.
Relations won't help here. Double Patterning takes times.
4-5 months to samples.

Guys, don't get in this pissing match. If AVENGER is taking the KnC side of the argument, you're likely wrong.

You're off to an amazing start with your own beastie. Let it lie. KnC is quite capable of digging their own grave. Also quite capable of pulling a rabbit out of their ass. You can't call this one.

Altcoins were developed only so that people could mine on commodity hardware and it be impossible to mine on GPUs FPGAs ASICs... oh shit, why do they exist now?
Maybe it is time you take a strong look at Nxt!    Wink
No thanks, I took a long hard look at bitcoin and liked what I saw and still like it today.

Hence the drop of GPU support after 3.8. I agree alts are a side show, like clowns. IMHO they're only good for pump n dumps to make more btc Smiley

a temp restraining order is not granted by a judge, it is an order which can be 'purchased' prior to an actual hearing... all it does is instigates a hearing by an actual court/judge.

This is nonsense. Perhaps alts are 4000% more profitable than Bitcoins if you're trying to mine both using a GPU, but no-one is mining BTC with GPUs right now.

The Antminer S1 is $450 right now and will earn around $9.50 a day. I don't think any scrypt mining hardware can come close to returning $9.50 per day with a $450 hardware investment right now.

I like the way you think. keep thinking like that, cuz it lowers the diff for me. I am beating BTC by a couple percent with SHA alts nearly every day. Think what you could do with a couple gridseeds...

I did imagine what I could do with a couple of Gridseeds, and it gives me nightmares. Gridseed miners are quite possibly the worst hardware buy available right now. Each one costs around $200 for 400 MH, and pays a earns a paltry $1 per day, with means they will take ~200 days to ROI not including power costs and difficulty increases.

It takes ~5.6 MH right now to earn a single litecoin per day, which is worth a whopping $14 each.

About the only thing worse than buying Gridseed miners right now would be pre-ording a Titan.   Smiley

It seems the biggest pool at the moment is Unknown (https://blockchain.info/pools) which seems to be KncMiner who was 10% of the hashrate last week (http://organofcorti.blogspot.no/2014/03/march-23rd-2014-weekly-hashrate.html)

I had realized something:

the whole purpose of scrypt miner by KnC is to create the demand for BTC that they are selling from the datorhall.
Think about it, scrypt miners using fast Titan will mine large amounts of LTC, which they will immediately convert to BTC (at least 90%), providing a nice bid for BTC KnC is selling weekly.

That's why we are bombarded by info on how wonderful Titan will be and absolutely nothing on Neptune.
Neptune in the hands of customers will COMPETE with datorhall, hence no incentive of providing it early or with improved characteristics and this is why it is absolutely unethical for all hardware companies to mine on a large scale.

Read messages on knC board-people are almost hysterical now.

true, but all hardware companies sell only preorders with the exception of one Bitmain product/S1
Mining is a great hobby, but unrewarding when you try to make more serious money.
I wanted to mine a few coins to contribute to the process of creating 21mil BTC-you can realistically do it in the next few years (most likely just a couple of years) if you wanted to mine a single WHOLE bitcoin (a part of plant a tree, have a child, write a book...mint a bitcoin ideology).
For savings I can just buy BTC-this way I would have much better tax treatment.

Wow that's a great story. I hope the owner of bitcointalk.org bars Hashfast from attempting to sell/rip off anyone else from this site.
