asic scrypt miners will basically kill the scrypt market. Don't see the point in wasting money on these. It would be different if there was really only 1 coin to mine for as in BTC, besides scrypt coins are dying off to x11 and x13 coins..... you guys will be all alone competing against others with titans etc., so your right back where you started only 9,000 in debt. Might as well have stuck with GPUS. They will make a nice conversation piece though lol True,BUT,BTC will be controlled by the mining corps very soon, not sure how that will playout At least with altcoins you have quite a few to switch around to,with BTC nothing we can do but give up mining,at home at least............. very sad days coming I'd rather compete with fellow miners than the corps Best of luck !!!!!!!!!!!!

It's too late for that. I agree with this. I also read somewhere of some debate about implementing PoS into Bitcoin; which in my view would most likely be a disaster. Further up there is the note that there are lots of other Scrypt coins which can be mined and as a result, big Scrypt rigs will be worth having(?) I disagree; if you are lucky enough to get one of the first batch of the beastly 40DD Titties - you may see some level of investment returned, but there are also lots of other SHA256 coins which can be mined with our existing SHA256 ASICs - and there are a lot of folks who have already switched from BTC to Alts in that sense, but it's not in the volume which will see any kind of decrease in the Bitcoin network hashrate anytime soon. Changing the algo, while in principle sounds like a masterplan, would simply negate all the investment made by all of us - what would happen? We'd all switch to another coin - which would be the most profitable coin we can all find, collectively. And thus, the coin we switched to, may end up overtaking Bitcoin. But this is indeed all conjecture at this point. Well we know; none of this is ever going to happen. I do, however have my eyes on the coin I will mine with my ASICs when Bitcoin finally becomes too tough for a little guy like me to crack - and it is, a PoW/PoS coin.

Oh this is going to get deleted, I just know it, lol. Peercoin is the only POW/POS I currently know of, at least of the POS coins still in POW stage. Curious, you "don't alt" but you have your eyes on other SHA coins? Do you mean you don't currently mine alt coins but are interested? Btw, NXT is really high right now. Might be a good time to sell some. I did.

The Titan chip sports 2284 cores running 18272 threads, for comparison, a standard "home computer" usually uses 2 or 4 cores. What a moronic comparison.

Come on, this is great news.
"The tape-out report strengthens our outlook that we'll be able to deliver the first rounds of Titans well within the promised timeframe for pre-order customers (Q3, 2014)."
Well within == weeks before the end of Q3, or maybe August !?!

I do know which alt I will be looking at when I can no longer turn a profit on bitcoin (i'm hoping this is a long while away - but unlikely) - I have already demoted myself to 'hobbyist'; but i'm still here, currently mining bitcoin. And yes, looking at the toy exchanges, now is a good time to sell NXT. (I had 5 (five) that I got from a faucet when it launched lol - big empire.) apologies for going off topic.
