WO meetup pioneers pithy motto: "our opsec is atrocious (except for a couple people) but we had a fucking great time and everyone was very cool".
Cool, who else was there? LFC, Mic, HM, V8 what about the rest?

"WO turned into a fluffy version of itself." I must admit - Fatman is spot on. But if the Hats like it fluffy, fluffy it is (for now). I tried to whorelure him with a lousy stock purple heart, but it didn't work. He could have gained a custom handmade item though.
Mandatory observation - 9915 and going down sideways. A time for loading. I did open a half assed hedging short eventually, but it's too small to matter much. I'm more than a little wary of pushing it now. Already set a stop at the edge of the green area, however, so if she raises her head suddenly, I'll scrap a few sats anyway.

Hey brothers! So now we're waiting till BAKKT runs out of BTC they have in their initial stash? Mmmmkey... We're waiting for someone to incur a loss. They'll have to pay up in btc. We're waiting for someone to make some profit. They will be paid up in btc. The clearinghouse will need to reinstate their stash to minimum regulatory amounts. Which we don't know, but still. The significant new feature of Bakkt IMO is not that it is "backed" - in theory, this is true (one way or another) for all legit derivative trading shops. The main new feature of Bakkt is settlement in kind. You need btc to have a position there. Your fiat won't cut it.

I was present. WO meetup pioneers pithy motto: "our opsec is atrocious (except for a couple people) but we had a fucking great time and everyone was very cool".
In a sense. "WO turned into a fluffy version of itself." I must admit - Fatman is spot on.
Since we live in such a hideous world do we not deserve one place where we can bathe in human warmth and sentimentality? I may not make it but my hope is that an American meet will look exactly like this.

If I was a powerful wizard with a magic scepter that could enslave mortal Central Bankers and put them under my spell, I would use this scepter to make the Fed print lots of money and call it POMO, OMO, QE, and lower interest rates to near zero. This would inevitably send my Bitcoin to 1 million usd each and beyond and make me a fabulously wealthy Wizard. Unfortunately I dont have this scepter, but bc Im a lucky SOB the Fed is fulfilling my fantasies by doing this of their own free will.
Damn plot twist, I thought you were going to make them give it all back to the people LOL. Yeah hate to break it to you Lambie but if BTC rises because the dollar is that drastically inflated, a million bucks just won't have the same ring to it any more. If money flows into BTC because of the perceived reduction of the dollar's purchasing power, and not actual inflation to match, then yes that would be just dandy. In other words, we are not going to get filthy rich by inflated FIAT (if we are not already), others will get filthy poor. Might not be a win but definitely not a lose. The Fed has already made most Americans into a new technologically advanced first world underclass in denial of their new status. This hypothetical sorcery on my end would just continue the trend until everyone gets so pissed that the multi hundred year central banking scam is brought to a halt by whatever means necessary. Bitcoin has spent most of its existence with the zero rates, qe, pomo, omo, etc, that the Fed is now getting back to doing. Its just par for the course and I predict like last time the dollar will inflate and lose purchasing power but not in a Zimbabwe type fashion. More like a big mac cost 10-15 bucks, the year is 2026 and Bitcoin is at 1 million usd. Bitcoin has proven to make gains at an exponential inverse to dollar losses, no reason this trend wont continue imo. We dont need hyperinflation to get to 1 million, just status quo money printing by the elites. No one said it would be easy for the nocoiners that refuse to join us.

Yeah, it's a lose. While it's nice to be the one eyed man in the kingdom of the blind you still lose an eye and everyone else is a whole lot duller. The trick is not to look at life as a zero sum game, but one in which the cooperation of all expand the size of the pie. Those are the only games really worth playing. zero sum ones are just a waste of time.

28 btc traded on bakkt right now.
I would be very curious about WHO is buying this coins... amounts are pity, but seems like some institutional player was ready to "play" with btc on bakkt launch...

I still don't know how bakkt works. At first I thought they have bitcoins which they lend to the clients. Then I read somewhere that all bitcoins on bakkt are tranferred by the clients themselves. This would mean that bakkt is not an exchange and investors should find another way of bying bitcoins - from exchanges or OTC. Which is a bit dissapointing if it is true. The major concern of the institutions is how to securely buy and store bitcoins. If bakkt doesn't help them, then nothing is changed. On the other hand, the bitcoins locked in bakkt futures contracts are removed from the exchanges. I think that this was the plan of bakkt creators - to develop a regulated market which is immune to exchange arbitrages. With time, if the volume grows significantly, this may have a strong positive effect on the price. But for now with this pathetic volume 29 BTC this looks like hopium.
