At what point are we OK with a 25% error rate and no USB bootloader? I feel that I presented a good plan with 8-chip boards since they had no error issues and could be overclocked. I appreciate the sentiment to only ship perfectly working boards, but if they had been shipped immediately upon assembly, we would be better off, even with hardware errors, having mined for a couple weeks when difficulty was 30% lower.  Huh

Questions I currently have:
What is the status of the bootloader?
What is the status of the HW error rate and cause?
Were all chips mounted onto boards immediately or are some still unmounted?
Can the chips be underclocked to achieve a lower error rate and lower power utilization?
What is the status of the next-gen project, how many unpopulated boards are remaining?

SB u suck right now ...

I don't like that I'm agreeing with you Sad I imagine he's furiously hacking away at getting these boards working and assembled, but he's way past due for a production update either way.

The worst part for me is that the avalon miners on tradehill went for 2.21 btc a piece Today, for 60gh/s.

Where do you see this?

Losing hundreds of Bitcoins with the best scammers in the business - BFL, Avalon, KNC, HashFast.

Has anybody received a refund lately?  I requested a refund several weeks ago for 48 Batch 3 chips and have yet to receive it.

The refund ship has sailed. If you haven't received a refund yet, you most likely won't. The cutoff date was 9/16.

Best thing to do is request your chips to be shipped and sell them at a discount. A recent auction averaged about .015/chip, but with today's huge difficulty spike you'll be lucky to get that.

Even then, I have an email stating I would receive a refund for 450 chips but I haven't seen anything yet. That's 1/2 what I asked the refund for (16/09).

Maybe he realized that he couldn't pay assembly refunds if he kept refunding chips and simply stopped? I have to admit, the situation is annoying for us all. We know SB has the chips but we have not received an update in weeks. I appreciate that he has a business to run aside from this group buy, but it would be in everyone's best interest to wrap this up quickly.

Yifu fucked us. Bkk has been kidnapped. But SB still needs to deliver something or at least communicate a resolution if the product cannot be delivered. A miner with a 25% error rate received now is worth more than a perfect miner received after two more adjustments.... IMO. SB, please give us options here.

Uhm, that ship has already sailed. IMO his reputation is unsalvageable at this point. As far as I can tell, he's completely ditched this thread and is hoping this whole mess will just disappear.

I've pretty much had it with waiting. I want my assembly costs refunded pronto. This has gotten stupid!

I'm booked solid for the next couple of days. Hopefully when I return SB will have posted SOME kind of update. short of that, I'll start preparing the paperwork for a fraud complaint to the District Attorney.

I'll say it one last time: Steamboat, how about an UPDATE?!?! I don't believe you're spending EVERY SINGLE waking moment trying to get miners to work. I'm done fucking begging you to keep us in the loop. It's time for legal action.

Best of luck to you...

I question your logic. I can not give you a proper example of what our 'hope' should be, but I can guarantee that as BTC price skyrockets the more mining hardware will be produced and more 'older' hardware will continue to run, thus increasing difficulty. These things do not benefit us (what am I missing?).  Furthermore, a BTC price increase is a direct slap in the face to us because if we had just held on to the coins instead of buy chips/boards we would have more wealth.

Sorry ionstorm I don't mean this as an insult to you. I am just total disappointed and depressed.  I should probably not even post this but I am wondering if there actually is a silver lining that I am missing? – currently I don’t see any Sad

PS I am updating 'the sheet' Sad

Seriously though, I wish he did care, I'm beyond screwed at this point, I took a risk I shouldn't have and now my livelihood is at risk.  I should have known better after being scammed and screwed by even friends in the past.  The only hope right now is for me to land a job in the middle of nowhere or get a refund so I can make bills.  I hope nobody dropped 5000+ on bitcoin miners like I have.  At the time it seemed like a foolproof deal.  I wish steamboat would have secured his customers investments even if they were blinded by hope.  I did request a refund and was at the cutoff.  I hope I can pay for my internet access to even run these miners.

Has anyone personally seen/spoken with Steamboat in the last two weeks?  Does anyone have contact information or know his physical location?
