Toshiba satalite i3 processor it's like 2yrs old

Ughh not worth it man.  CPU mining will get you almost nothing these days. Your looking at like 8 MH/s tops with an i3.

Thanks everyone. I'm just gonna have to get more fpga's I guess.
I would love one of those avalons. They only accept bit coin. But I live a half hour away
From their mailing address in Albany NY.
Wish I could just knock on the door and give them cash. So for now each miner is 439MH/s

Did you maybe just mine at the beginning of that quite long round?
Cause if so, the expontentially rising score for each share submitted will have made you early contributions obsolete.

Wait what did you spend $1,000 on? The 2 FPGAs running at 439MH/s?  Geez... For less than $1000 you can build a machine with 2 7870xt's (each put out > 500MH/s) and have room to expand!

That gaming rig has a nice MoBo, but that GTX570 isn't too hot for mining (plus it takes up 3 slots!! WTF Asus?). I'd swap that out for a couple 7870xt (each card = $260 @ 500+ MH/s)

or just a couple of Sapphire 7870 GHz editions (each card = $215 each @ 410-425 MH/s)

just a waste of money not going to the 7870xt for 100mh/s+ each. I have 2 doing 530 and 2 doing 520mh/s where my 7870's are 425 410/410 400. took me 4 loser 7870's to realize the 7870xt was better money! grrr....
I got all the $15 rebate cards and all the game cards for the 7870xt so 250-$15 selling game cards -$15 cyrsis3 -$40 for bioshock/tomb raiders/farcry3 so paid basically $180 for each card.

um... just so you know, GPU mining is on its way out except for altcoins. their power consumption is just too high compared to fpga's and asic's.  right now, everything is considered over priced because of the rapidly increasing difficulty. if you are trying to make money, look for the most cost effective means, not the quickest to accomplish. you do realize that getting new video cards entails getting/building a new computer.

Well right now you have the option of FPGA (high $ per MH/s), usb block erupters (same as FPGA), or GPU.  ASICs have a significant lead time to acquire so they are not viable for someone just getting into mining. You can still make BTC with GPU's right now, but you are right in the fact that they are nearing the end of their mining value.  The biggest thing is that TODAY the most cost effective and quickest way to start mining is with GPUs.
And if you go back and read his post, you'll notice he has already purchased a machine that will be more than capable of pushing out 1.5GH\s to 2GH\s when he adds the correct GPU's.

Yes I did its on its way. I am really new and hungry to learn. Asics would be great but i don't have BTC to buy them off avalon.  I mean 1500$ for 65GH/s is Almost free, I think batch 3 is much more. $ tho. I want to learn and make a few bucks..even if its a shot for the long run.... What happens when u get everything you ever wanted.....,"you live happily ever after"
